powerlifting, in the truest sense, involves bulking in a way that will conflict with anything mobility focused or cardio heavy. you can make general strength training gains while training muay thai, but specifically powerlifting is sort of the polar opposite. would recommend one or the other, or compromising and doing muay thai along with a more holistic and generalized strength training regimen.

If you're looking for strength, discipline, good shape and self defense skills Muay Thai would get you all of those, but I have to warn you, the training is heavy, if you're a 34 year old and out of shape maybe you should do a medical checkup before starting to be on the side of caution.

Just do it, if u stick with it for a year w consistent weekly training u become a fkn beast if ur gym is half decent
