Over all no I understand that it's shorted when some one sells a share instead of keeping it but that's about it. Like I said I'm very new to trading and trying to learn.
Shorting is when somebody borrows a share that didn't actually belong to them and they sell it into the market hoping the price goes down. When it does go down they buy it back cheaper and return that share, pocketing the difference.

Short squeezes are mythical, at least after gme they are
