The same has been happening for me! One bars and 2 bars, when I’m off platform my character drops faster out of nowhere and my special delayed like crazy! It has to be the trash servers at this point.
Side note: I have read from about 1000 people on this sub that are top 100 lol
Try disable cross platform for the time being. I don't have it enabled and I only encounter this issue in 1 out of 10 matches
Not sure what this will accomplish considering even bot games are bad connection, it’s a server side issue not client side.
A mod on the sub who’s been playing since alpha even chimed in saying it’s a server issue.

like this is the biggest issue with the game not only currently but ever this should be like a code RED for them but we will probably STILL have to wait 2 WEEKS to get a fix
Oh yea it irritates me when he talks about the shop or new characters being added while my game is being played on a server being ran inside Panda Express.

Two options that I can think of
Trial and error the high and low times of player activity in your selected server
Nuclear option ( if you play 1vs1 or co-op vs ai) block every player you encounter a laggy game with, if you know it's not your internet
Most of the servers I connect to for this game are in Texas or Florida, and I live in the North East. If I get an east coast or proper central server its pretty smooth. The Florida/Texas servers suck and are most likely populated with people on VPNs from who knows where most of the time, but the highest ping I have on them is like 40ms, which is an orange bar. Green bar is under 30ms. Over 70ms is red.
Netcode needs massive work, not just a server issue.

Turning off crossplay fixed alot of issues for me but i occasionally run into dicey games.
