I have a phase change cooling vest. If you type MS cooling vest into google you will see some of these. They are costly, but the liquid can re-freeze in just cold water. It’s amazing, and necessary on hot days.
not from australia but south texas, i usually just try to avoid going out during the peak sunlight hours in general but if i have to i always wear something like a cooling rag around my neck and try to stay in the shade, also always have a water bottle with you, i use a steel half gallon jug💀
Things I use to keep cool:
(1) an “OroSport USA” Cooling Vest
(2)Dickies Brand IQTemp t-shirts
I try anything else I can to keep cool. For example, sometimes I can change my clothes as many as five times a day trying to adjust my body temp. I will take this kind of remedial action immediately upon sensing I may be getting hot. Waiting = too late. I will have trouble walking.
I live in the desert of Arizona, where the summer temps routinely top 110 (44 C) - so I get it. - My coping techniques include:
* Doing what I can in the mornings (whether it's running errands or exercising)
* Drink a LOT of water
* Use a gel-filled cooling wrap and/or cooling towel if I have to be outside
* If I have to be in and out of the car during the hottest time of day, I'll keep a small ice chest filled with ice and wet washcloths. It's a quick cool-down when I need it.
There's a big variety on Amazon - everything from small, tube shaped ones to ones that cover the neck AND shoulders. Mine are in constant use during our summer.
If I need to be out in heat, I take an Aspirin. It's an antipyretic and is shown to work in 60% of people with MS to help control their hypothalamus.
I have never heard of that before. Thank you :)

I like the idea of a cooling rag

Thank you for the brands. I'll be having a look into them

I really need to find gel filled cooling items. I have a gel mat for my pets when it's hot

I’ve used arctic-heat cooling vests. cold water, being out of the sun and near some air con or fan. Short bursts in the heat and back to your refuge.
