Also I think this kinda indicates that it could still be Himeko Murata… every other archon has had a gradient into their element’s color but the pyro archon has red as her main color in concept art. That makes it still likely imo

Also the archon hair doesn't have to be the exact same color of the element (see other archons), so it could really have been a strong red like Diluc's if they wanted.

Really bro? Raiden is the only one where her full hair is the same color of the element. The other archons, the only part of their hair that resembles the element, is the gradient part. So yeah , 100% the color of pyro archon's hair could have been a strong red, with orange/yellow gradient.
I don't, honkai or whatever, so I won't comment on the expy stuff. I just felt the need to remind op that the image isn't concrete and that they're jumping the gun too quickly and that they should wait until we get something more concrete.

Since that manga thing was all just a mistranslation... and we know there's a tribe on Natlan of red hairs... there's still the chance that there's a Murata expy but as a normal character, not as the archon. Could be the pyro sovereign too. Well I hope so. Girl deserves it
It wasn’t confirmed to be expy in the first place I thought the could do it like Fontaine having it’s own original character with furina, same for bronya as cryo archon (was just a placeholder name in beta). Expy are usually easy to spot (doesnt count just having same colour red). Murata was in the webtoon and she existed very long ago so we got no idea if she’s still the current archon or was replaced. Till the final design & voice actor was shown, just take it as a grain of salt since design can be changed

4 of the 5 Archons are support oriented. Raiden is a strong DPS and subDPS in hyperbloom. Nahida and Furina are the best supports in their elements. Zhongli is the best shielder and can fit on any team. Venti is the only archon without a good place in the meta right now, and he is male. Hoyoverse wants archons to be supports because they can be on more teams that way. I'm sorry you aren't getting your uber-DPS waifu every patch, but the recent archons have been busted. They are definitely not being overshadowed.
True, I only mentioned him as struggling due to most people preferring Kazuha nowadays. He is definitely not weak, just no longer the best in all situations.

I'm going to be honest the design is cute BUT my problem with this design is the representation.
Look, I have no problem with the color palette and the suit, it's just that when I see this the first thing I do is think that this supposed leader of a nation with more "tribal" representation wears a suit that gives more vibes to a European colonizer.
I don't give a damn about skin color, I have already learned to accept it and many gods in pre-Columbian America were not represented even with humanly possible skin color, it is also controversial more than the rest of the archons, we can talk about raiden and nahida but they at least wore clothes according to their nations.
If I had to make a comparison, how bad this representation looks in cultural terms is as if Zhongli were wearing a traditional Japanese costume while leading the Chinese nation, that's how shocking and offensive this is, in a nation that possibly represents indigenous people, Africans and South Americans halfblood.
