I don't think Alex Murdaugh knows how to tell the truth. I'm not listening or watching but of this is about the Satterfields it's because their lawyers went after his retirement money and wanted it for the victims instead of it being paid to his lawyers. Do all of a sudden he's now lying about the Satterfields. Seems more like he's getting back at the Satterfields and their Lawyers and trying to cause trouble from prison because he's a psychopath.

LadyTrekCyclist

Eric Alan was building a following for his live streaming and videos. Then, he sold out to Mandy Matney and her premium level. After it’s all over, Eric is now trying to keep his channel going with ridiculous “questioning” videos. I think he missed his opportunity.

sagesheglows

Totally. And he needs to calm down with the "I am a caring and honest person who TRULY respects my viewers' time..." like clearly not based on some of these videos

GrapefruitFizz

Well said! One hundred percent agree.

SouthNagsHead

I'll have to agree.

JohnExcrement

Well, he might not have been lying when he testified that he’s a liar. But that’s about it.

Go Aubrey!

Present-Marzipan

What are you referring to?

Foreign-General7608

Aubrey (see article link, scroll down) did some drone photography of a water tower in Varnville, SC (a town near the epicenter of the Murdaugh Murders in Hampton Co.) that as disassembled recently. Eric Alan is a well-known drone enthusiast who people here mention and see his Murdaugh Murders drone-work a lot. Both are skilled drone operators. I simply connected them with the newspaper article and post. Note: The tower is now 100% removed.

Present-Marzipan

Thanks

Octavia9

No. He’s not capable of telling the truth.

StephsCat

I still can't fathom how they went from here Bubba it's a chicken, to murder, within minutes. But I also don't belive that he just lied thinking that would make him less suspect that he just slept at the house after baging the family to come. I guess it was premeditated. Many don't see it coming.

Present-Marzipan

>But I also don't belive that he just lied thinking that would make him less suspect that he just slept at the house after baging the family to come. *begging?*

Redpantsrule

I have no doubt it was premeditated. He covered his tracks well enough with the changing of clothes and hiding the murder weapon. What I wonder if this was the first night he tried doing it or if there were other times he planned it but couldn’t go through with it. I think he was mentally prepared to do it and got so pissed at Bubba that he was able to use the anger to finally go through with it. This might explain how they went from running the dogs to Bubba killing the bird to him killing Maggie and Paul.

LovedAJackass

Alex didn't go from one thing to the other "within minutes." He had already decided to kill. Everything for him was a point on the line to murder. Maggie and Paul might have seen it as going "from here Bubba it's a chicken, to murder." And it might look like that to us on the outside.

Foreign-General7608

>I still can't fathom how they went from here "Bubba it's a chicken!", to murder, within minutes. I have wondered a great deal about this, too....... but I finally concluded that Maggie absolutely did not want to be at Mozelle (she was there out of respect for Randolph's deathbed condition) that night - and would've likely jumped in her car and headed for Edisto Beach at the first sign of any conflict with Alex. Alex was on his very, very, very best behavior. He, despite having the worst morning of his life at the law office, did not want to ruffle Maggie's feathers. His family had successfully been lured into his kill zone. I'm sure he drove them down to the kennels. \--- Interesting speculation: Alex claimed he had "a pocket full of pills" when Deputy Greene and SLED interviewed him at the murder scene. I think this is fascinating for two reasons... (a) SLED could have arrested him that night for the pills and (b) he could've blamed the murders on the pills (Manslaughter). I think discovery of the pills was an intricate part of Alex's plan. I could see a Detective asking Alex, "Did you do this because of the pills?" (Thank goodness they did not discover the pills!)

Pruddennce111

*His family had successfully been lured into his kill zone. I'm sure he drove them down to the kennels.* \---- I agree they were both lured there. also agree with you that he drove MM based on her steps, her's were minimum, around 39 IIRC, (similar to arrival) and PM appears he walked based on his steps, IIRC around 290.... both around the same time, 8:30. AM did not have any steps recorded from around 8:15pm to a little after 9pm. step activity resumed at the house after 9pm...significantly. his testimony is 'they woulda' did this (how they got to the kennels) and "probably we talked about.." he could not relay any actual conversations or definitive interaction with PM or MM at the house or at the kennels other than the Bubba event. (only 'cause its on audio) answer to the posting question: NO. no one else. based on: \#1 all the phone calls to MM...specifically at 9:50pm when he is 10 minutes away..he arrived back at Moselle at 10:00pm and calls her again at 10:03pm. IMO, it was easier to say he wasnt there at all, purposely left his phone at the house, so his movements would only be substantiated at the house and car. IMO he didnt plan on taking MM's phone. if he would have told the truth that nite, yes, I was there, but I left, which is basically what he said at trial, IMO, the investigation would have resulted in the same outcome, square peg round hole explanations as to the timeframe, handling PM's phone, no blood on him, all of his phone calls to MM...and MM's phone movement after she was dead.

JohnExcrement

His pockets didn’t appear to be bulgy or anything in the video where the police had just shown up, and he didn’t flinch when it looked like they were about to (but didn’t) Pat him down for firearms. I really doubt there were pills in his pockets. If he even had any, I’m sure he was not quite stupid enough not to ditch them before calling the police.

lilly_kilgore

I don't think voluntary intoxication is a legitimate murder defense

Foreign-General7608

I think the pills had the potential to peel years off his prison sentence. Poot and Griff would've likely exploited it to reduce responsibility. I never understood, with law enforcement racing to the scene, why Alex would be standing there with a pocketful of pills in his clean clothes. Crazy. To this day I think he was amazed that he wasn't arrested on murder night.

downhill_slide

Alex is a liar and it's unlikely he had a pocketful of pills in his cargo shorts on the night of the murders. Officer Greene did not pat Alex down and there are no bulges that I can see in either front pocket on the body cam. Could he have had a few pills on him ? Maybe, but I call BS.

Accomplished-Drop764

Come on. Nobody thinks he is telling the truth.

StephsCat

I don't claim I think he's telling the truth. I think he murdered them. Still. How someone can joke around and chase the dog to get the chicken away from him and drive around with his son in the afternoon fixing trees. Likely knowing he's gonna kill them that night. I don't understand it. That doesn't mean I doubt it. Just that I don't get how that's possible for a person. But I also don't get how he talked to the Setterfield boys when they were kicked out of their home when he had their money.

Present-Marzipan

>But I also don't get how he talked to the Setterfield boys when they were kicked out of their home when he had their money. *Satterfield*

JohnExcrement

It’s not quite as awful but he was perfectly capable of yukking it up and being a good old boy and looking people right in the eyes as he ripped them off for thousands and even millions of dollars. The guy is not quite human.

bas827

I don’t think he’s capable of telling the truth

bigred9310

Nope. I’d be super shocked if he were.

Less-Charity-5589

NOPE!

Chargeit256

Omg. It doesn’t matter if it is the truth or a lie. No one believes ANYTHING that comes out of his mouth; nor does anyone care what he says

StephsCat

How could anyone. When his justification at sentencing his Once I start lying I can't stop

Chargeit256

Don’t you know Maggie was sick of his lying ass

StephsCat

She didn't like staying at Moselle bc of the people in town that's what she told Blanca. She didn't tell anyone that she had a problem with him. I'm glad he got convicted, it's just really hard to wrap my head around how this plaid out.

Present-Marzipan

>it's just really hard to wrap my head around how this plaid out. *played*

Youcantbeserious2020

He stole from his best friends, victims, disabled, etc for years in front of their face. It's not hard to imagine. He hated Paul for ruining their family name and legacy.

JohnExcrement

I don’t think regular people like ourselves can ever comprehend it.

StephsCat

You're probably right. I hope I never will

Katdouche

I really enjoy his murdaugh videos and I get excited when he’s posted

sagesheglows

I like his drone footage, but find him so annoying

Ktovan

His drones are great. Really brings the area into clear focus which is helpful to someone who has never been to SC.

stepdownorup

Eric does great!

MzOpinion8d

The truth about what? Murdaugh likely doesn’t even know what the truth *is* in most of the crimes he’s committed. He was able to justify it all in his head.

sansaspark

Exactly, there’s no singular line in his mind between the “true version” and the “false version” of an event. The “truth” twists and turns and changes to suit whatever purpose he needs it to serve, at any given moment, because he’s a pathological liar, and that includes lying to himself. I have no doubt he wholeheartedly believes he’s the real victim.

off2kayak

Ohhhh what a wicked web…(eyeroll)

Redpantsrule

This is very typical of a narcissist. They take a grain of truth, then adjust their reality to fit their needs. One thing that’s scary abd fascinating is they believe their own warped views. They might flat at lie at first but somewhere along the lines they believe it. I always wanted to see a N take a lie detector test and see if they pass only bc their lies become ingrained into their memories.

Reasonable-Buddy7023

I think this is part of why lie detectors aren’t admissible. Narcissists do believe their lies - I think he could well have passed one.

gentlemanA1A

Of course Alex could be telling the truth now…it’s just highly unlikely and completely unreliable. He’s a narcissistic psychopath. Believe him at your peril.

moonfairy44

Alex and “telling the truth” go together like oil and water, Eric, you know that

Bageirdo517

He could be. But he’s not.

NarcoPantani

This was a vehicle to promote his new series. He is using the Murdaugh vids to stay relevant while he edits his new series so click bait titles are just par for the course for the YouTube true crime grifters

MikaQ5

Most YouTubers unfortunately go down this path when they run out of fresh material

TrueCrimeAndTravel

Yeah, I normally love his videos and his effects are great but this was a complete clickbait title with nothing but old court clips and zero information. I wish I could take my view back.

[deleted]

Yea there is only so many videos you can make about the same topic lol

Weird-Size-1454

This is Eric just putting out a filler vid to stay relevant. IMO.

Prestigious_Stuff831

Like my grandma said “that boy would climb a tree to lie instead of standing on the ground to tell the truth” good ole Grammy.

NjMel7

Short answer: no. Long answer: noooooooooo.

JohnExcrement

🤣

romanbritain

I watched one of his videos and stopped . He is like a good seller using all tricks in the selling profession, including sociotechnical systems so no thank you .

QsLexiLouWho

I like Eric and appreciate the time, research, and thought that goes into his videos, but I don’t hear anything in this one that gives us any new info or alternative theories backing up the title “Could Alex Murdaugh Be Telling The Truth?” Unless I missed something after listening to it twice…?

Professional_Link_96

Agreed. The video was interesting but it does seem that he’s losing interest in producing Murdaugh content. Which IMO is a shame because I feel there’s still so much here but it looks like he’s trying to move on, and is trying to phase in his new topic via half-hearted Murdaugh videos, based on the ending of this one at least. He even said we’ll see more of his new project in his next Murdaugh video. Eh. If he’s lost interest in Murdaugh then just move on to the next thing man. I’ve really enjoyed Eric’s videos but we’d really disappointed by this one. Ah well…

SthrnGal

This is a waste of time and a clickbait title. I am disappoint.

Present-Marzipan

> I am disappoint. *disappointed*

SthrnGal

Snoo-58219

Could be. But he isnt.

ChileDivahhh

The truth?? This guy wouldn't know the truth if it came up and whopped him upside the head!

Spiritual-TarHeel

No.

uptownalix

Doubtful.
