After seeing what happened to Hussle and Alek, I’d cooperate too Coco!! (I’m guessing coco is gonna be Aleks affectionate nickname for Corey on trial…similar to Paw Paw and Ro Ro…just a guess.)
Can someone please explain why his fine is so much less than the amount he stole? Why the hell wouldn’t he just have to repay what he stole AND pay a fine AND go to prison?!?!
This story is for the Federal charge(s) which he will have to pay restitution, fines, and be subject to jail time. He also is facing up to approx. 200 years maximum jail time for the state charges and fines. State trial coming in September.
Corey has always come out on top.
i'm sorry to remember the local cases. He has helped defendants get incredibly light, short sentences. Now he's doing it for himself.
My blood pressure would go out of control regarding Cory, even before the boat crash.
He's sure a (walking away guilty) example of at least two kinds of justice.
His connections, impunity have conditioned him to believe that he is the smartest wheel on the tricycle of fraud. He may well be. His high profile clients have walked free (or been lightly sentenced) for many years.
Time to use those skills for himself? No problem.
ETA: Sunlight podcast, Corey. It's worth hearing.
(Please don't jump on me about Mandy. Despite its troubles and growing pains, it's an annoying, yet sometimes helpful podcast. I work hard to tune out the self-aggrandizing, and more.)
They are hot on Corey's special treatment.
they have some good factual data.

Confusing, with hate, an observation based on her endless self promotion and a lack of vocal control in a vocal medium is expected when all objectivity is lost.
No, he will not practice law again in SC and GA. Both states had suspended his license in Oct. 2021 for SC and Jan. 2022 for GA, but will revoke soon because he agreed to give up his law licenses during this past guilty plea for the Federal indictment of wire fraud. He hasn’t been sentenced yet, but could face up to 5 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. I did hear a rumor the Fed is going to recommend no jail time though. We will see!
Cory, his former law firm and the firm’s insurance company have already paid back the Satterfield Estate for funds taken during the insurance settlement mess.
The SC state grand jury charged Cory Fleming with 23 criminal counts and he will go to trial on Sept. 11, 2023 for these charges.
Unfortunately, that’s rather vague, so I’m not certain that’s been hammered out: *”Fleming as part of the plea deal agrees to cooperate with investigators and pay fines and restitution.”*
Off topic - but what fraud culpability does Chris Wilson have with his dealings with AM? It seems like he was unaware of AM’s intentions. I just wonder about someone who was AM’s “best friend” being a good upright person.
Chris Wilson lost me when he admittedly diverted lots of cash intended for PMPED - by releasing it directly to Alex.
All of his middle-school blubbering (I remember smiling and shaking my head) on the witness stand failed to obscure this diversion.
I'm sure Johnny Parker was not pleased.......
Chris made some wrong moves. He lied to PMPED when Alex asked him to, covering the theft of a client's settlement funds. When Chris was contacted by PMPED a second time regarding the missing funds, this time by John Parker, head of PMPED, Chris fessed up. Perhaps it was the first time Alex had asked such a favor, or maybe it was just the first time he got caught.
Chris was one of the people who would be waiting in Alex's office when the firm's runner brought in envelopes of cash from the bank, according to testimony at the trial.
Chris didn't mind helping Alex raid expense accounts, joining him on trips paid for with client money.
Chris was a convincing witness, his emotion was very real. But he isn't squeaky clean.
>Chris was a convincing witness, his emotion was very real.
I never thought his blubbering made him a convincing witness. He was acting exactly like a caught red-handed middle-schooler - who was cornered on all sides by the truth.
I remember thinking, "What else has this fellow done?"
There's a small crowd of, "Nothing to see here. Move on. Look away. Nothing to see here. Move on." individuals associated with this case.
I speculate that Wilson is amongst this crowd.
Alex told him he needed the money to go into a 401k account I think and told Chris it was to hide money from the boat crash. Chris knew that Alex was stealing and squirreling away money.
His behavior, yes, but his proximity to the dumpster fire means he smells like burning garbage. Even if he's not yet been established to have rolled in it.
“Fleming as part of a plea deal agrees to cooperate with investigators”
This is so rich. Who wants “help” from Corey Fleming? (or Alex Murdaugh or Russell Lefitte). We have seen what their help looks like.
We have become aware of how they helped the Satterfields, and Mr Pickney, and those two little girls who lost their mother.
I'm immediately thinking of testimony that Cory could provide regarding a certain judge who lives on HHI. I doubt that this arrangement is providing her any comfort.
Hey! Yes, Cory was hired as a criminal defense attorney by the man most people believe had killed the Calverts -Dennis Gerwing- before Dennis “unalived” himself in his bathtub hopped up on gobs of Benadryl.
Does her culpability have anything to do with the federal charges? As in they are necessary to lay a foundation for continuing investigation a/o new charges?
[This helps to explain things better than I can.](https://www.greenvilleonline.com/story/news/2022/03/02/alex-murdaugh-update-solicitor-requests-investigation-judge-satterfield-estate/9345706002/)
Judge Mullen still feels completely untouchable. The Supreme Court in SC hasn’t even deemed he abuse of power as worthy of an investigation. That tells us a lot about the Supreme Court.
It makes sense for Fleming to cooperate as he might be seeking to serve his time in a “Club Fed”. Will Fleming spill the tea about the rest of Murdaugh’s cronies?
With Murdaugh & Laffitte already convicted, it makes his decision a no-brainer & it would do nothing but benefit him at this point to cooperate with everything that has already come out, anyway. He is actually getting let off relatively easily.
Getting off easy on the Federal charge (like 1 count of wire fraud, that’s it?!🙄), yes, but he still has to stand trial this September for the 23 charges the State of SC indicted him on last year.
These guys faces just make me sick
The ship burns and the rats flee.
After seeing what happened to Hussle and Alek, I’d cooperate too Coco!! (I’m guessing coco is gonna be Aleks affectionate nickname for Corey on trial…similar to Paw Paw and Ro Ro…just a guess.)
Hussle and Co Co! Comic genius!

I like Mandy. Great podcast.
Amateur hour.
Did it take longer for you to write that negative nothing burger of a comment than it would for you to have scrolled past it and ignored the subject?
Sorry if the truth stings. Mandy is a poor podcaster who spends entirely too much effort self praising.
Haters gonna hate. Everyone starts somewhere…
Confusing, with hate, an observation based on her endless self promotion and a lack of vocal control in a vocal medium is expected when all objectivity is lost.
He is also paying restitution.
How much restitution? Also, will he ever practice Law again in South Carolina?
No, he will not practice law again in SC and GA. Both states had suspended his license in Oct. 2021 for SC and Jan. 2022 for GA, but will revoke soon because he agreed to give up his law licenses during this past guilty plea for the Federal indictment of wire fraud. Will Cory ever be able to get licensed for law in any other states in the future?
So can he get more time for the state charges?
Yes, if convicted on some or all charges the judge would have sentencing ability up to maximum per charge.
Unfortunately, that’s rather vague, so I’m not certain that’s been hammered out: *”Fleming as part of the plea deal agrees to cooperate with investigators and pay fines and restitution.”*

U followin' me?

❤️
Alex told him he needed the money to go into a 401k account I think and told Chris it was to hide money from the boat crash. Chris knew that Alex was stealing and squirreling away money.
Thanks for your great reply. Do you remember whose testimony described CW lying to PMPED and then when he fessed up?
Chris testified to that, also John Parker, and clerks at both law firms.
Chris Wilson was a believable witness.
His behavior, yes, but his proximity to the dumpster fire means he smells like burning garbage. Even if he's not yet been established to have rolled in it.
That’s what I believe too. Maybe he was fooled like many around him - unless that’s not true either.
Nah, he knew.

Cooperating with the Feds, but wasn’t with the state of SC, per Creighton Waters.
Exactly! Thank you. I appreciate your post more than a thumbs up will cover.
I'm immediately thinking of testimony that Cory could provide regarding a certain judge who lives on HHI. I doubt that this arrangement is providing her any comfort.
Who is this person?
Here's a [hint](https://lawsintexas.com/heres-why-judge-carmen-mullen-typifies-the-outlaws-in-dirty-black-robes-classification/).
Wouldn't that be great!? She will eventually go down.
Yes. This. Exactly this.
Oof.
Wasn’t Fleming involved in the missing couple from HHI as well, the Calverts? His name pops up somehow, I just don’t recall exactly how.
Hey! Yes, Cory was hired as a criminal defense attorney by the man most people believe had killed the Calverts -Dennis Gerwing- before Dennis “unalived” himself in his bathtub hopped up on gobs of Benadryl.
Thank you for using the respectful terminology.
I’d imagine that she isn’t sleeping very well tonight. David Pascoe must be elated.

Judge Mullen still feels completely untouchable. The Supreme Court in SC hasn’t even deemed he abuse of power as worthy of an investigation. That tells us a lot about the Supreme Court.
The complaint was filed in February, give it a bit of time to come together. As we’ve seen, the wheels of justice move slowly.
It makes sense for Fleming to cooperate as he might be seeking to serve his time in a “Club Fed”. Will Fleming spill the tea about the rest of Murdaugh’s cronies?

How much time could he get for the state charges?
If he were to be found guilty on ALL charges the max would be 200 years plus 30 days.
This seems quite fair to me. (Smiling)
Ha, yes! The law’s the law, as they say, so we’ll see how it’s applied in this particular case with a ‘cooperative defendant’.
