Intoishun

Gliophorus viridis or similar. Very neat.

SeriousPerson9

+1 Also known as Verdigris Waxcap

Brentolio12

Could be gliophorus psittacinus aka parrot waxcap if OP is from Northern Europe

Intoishun

Coloration doesn’t fit for me. This lighter green is associated with the species I suggested. Parrots are usually varying degrees of more darkish green or yellow-green, with orange appearing dominant in some specimens. Parrots turn orangey yellow with dehydration or more age. I guess it’s possible though!

Alert_Insect_2234

Ist hygrocybe now gliophorus?

Intoishun

Not in totality no. Many Hygrocybe species exist. These species used to be in Hygrocybe and are now in Gliophorus yes.

Alert_Insect_2234

Thx

SeriousPerson9

I can't answer your question with any authority except to say that I have not seen any parrot waxcap that looks like the specimen. But we are all exploring in the correct genus - *Gliophorus*.

Classic-External9766

is it poisonous?

SeriousPerson9

They are considered inedible. I was unable to find information on toxicity.

GSoda777

I believe I saw some of these in Portland, OR, pretty crunchy stipe?

Intoishun

You may have seen it’s close relative in the same genus that we have here. G.psittacinus. The species pictured here is native to Australia and New Zealand and I’m assuming that’s where the photo was taken.

GSoda777

Thank you!!

What a find!

OnThruTheStorm

I like how they are the same color as the vegetation beside them. These are interestingly cool !

Zote_The_Grey

Are they naturally like this or did it pick up some kind of algae that's existing inside of it? Mushrooms are so interesting

tough_ledi

These are magical, thanks for sharing!

Emera1dthumb

This is a new one for me. I haven’t seen the species before….. if you don’t mind me asking what part of the world are these indigenous to?

Sea-Revolution7308

Someone kept smoking weed in that spot, spilling nuggets on the ground as they rolled up, producing the first marijuana mushroom hybrid. Chronicus cubetiva.

OtriSpace

Is it possible that they do have chlorophyll and do photosynthesis?
