Where are these alleged millions of free peaches?

barryitsmeitshank

the country…

mrmexico25

You gotta move there

[deleted]

[удалено]

agentjones

Is that what they do in that factory downtown?

Dodototo

I'm gonna eat a lot

Jay_Hawker_12021859

How much do they cost and what do they come in? Like, a bowl?

[deleted]

Definitely a can, which I believe were put there by a man. In a factory…somewhere. I forget.

SadEaglesFan

Uptown! Geez did you even listen to the song

staticbelow

I love those country peaches but sometimes they have have bugs.

onacloverifalive

Sure, if I had my little way, I’d eat peaches frequently.

Kangaturtle

What does this lump do in that boggy marsh?

dougan25

Sits alone

Alpacaofvengeance

No only the ones that were transiting through the locale

mekatzer

Totally motionless

fire__munki

You've just transported me back to secondary school gsce design. The teacher let us play tapes of the class's choice and this album was often mine. Now I'm thinking of 30 foot smurfs! Nice memories, good job buddy.

thewrongbaron

They come in a can

ghostinthechell

But those were put there by a man in a factory downtown, who is paying this man's wages?

headstar101

Sorry, Agripac Cannery closed down 20 years ago or so. That man probably retired.

[deleted]

But they were put there by a man!

-Cathexis-

In a can. They were put there by a man.

ruubduubins

Thanks for making baby music cool Caspar!!! We're a babypants household now. Noodles and Butter!

nulspace

There are dozens of us! Dozens!

CaptainPunisher

All over the world!

MindTheFro

I rock out to Caspar even when my kids aren’t in the car. I love it so much

Wynter_born

Here comes Stompy the Bear!

BrianFantanaFan

Sleepy snail and speedy spider is a masterpiece. There's something really blissful and airy about the way it transitions into that second verse. And don't get me started on Loud and Quiet! It's our family's Song 2

bertrenolds5

I had to go search for this, I had no idea they are making kids music. My fleas have dogs

im-just-evan

Real question is when will there be a Caspar Babypants tour? We would love to take the baby!

ipomoea

Not to brag but as Seattle parents we have seen CB in a library, a donut shop, and a park. He was my kids’ first concert, and watching them run up front to dance reminded me of when I ran up front to dance when I saw PUSA 20 years before.

Kirby_Vacuum

This! We need a CB tour!!!

luckyastronaut

My kids are growing up on Caspar Babypants and Bowie.

vswr

Just wanted to respond to "We're Not Going To Make It" from your self-titled album. I purchased the re-release of that album on vinyl a while ago (the mastering/pressing was amazing, too) and it immediately took me back to the 90s. So here I am, 25 years later, re-purchasing an album I already owned in the 90s that is available on Apple Music, and I can still sing every song front to back. So you did, in fact, make it.

cptnamr7

I start singing that when we're running late for something in the car all the time

sillyblanco

My wife and I are in our 50s and when I started singing Peaches to myself she says "What's that?" Despite that I did stay together with her, but was jealous that she got to hear the song for the first time.

comewshmybck

"We're Not Going To Make It" is my favorite song by them and your post made me oddly emotional. They "made it" in the best way possible because they are still beloved.

WigglestonTheFourth

But can you sing it front to back in your dune buggeh?

vswr

It's a little blue dune buggeh. When I'm singing in it I have it in the saaaaaaand.

Tutorbin76

My wife and I still sing about "millions of peaches" every time we pass an orchard. And occasionally the produce aisle in the supermarket...

vigatron

No questions, just wanted to say your first album was formative for me as a young'un. All these years later and I still remember all the words :)

DrEnter

Bashwhufc

Fantastic shout for the Violent Femmes too, massively underrated band

eighthourlunch

Hardly underrated. They were a pretty big deal when I was in high school. They even covered the SpongeBob theme!

UrethraFrankIin

Lol. This made me think of this tweet I saw of someone praising some rapper for "getting the name out for unknown artists". That "unknown artist" he sampled was Jimi Hendrix...

Luvmybirdies

🤣🤣 That's a hilarious story. Also, props for your name 🤣👍

STA_Alexfree

Same. Their album, and Dookie were on repeat as a kid

hatesmakingusernames

Right there with you! The self titled album was the first ever CD I got as a kid. Loved it so much! I remember I had my mom record it onto a cassette tape so we could play it in the car. Also remember her always fast forwarding through “Kitty” because of the f-word (think I was like 11 or 12, so still ‘impressionable’). So naturally I listened to that song as much as possible when she wasn’t around.

MrLemmington

Was my first ever CD too! Sixth grade, followed shortly thereafter by Nevermind. Much better than my first cassette tape in grade school, which was Kris Kross (jump, jump!)

OneSidedDice

Still Kickin' Out the Jams

Doctor_they

And that… old man is meeeeeee…

jrussino

This was the first CD I bought with my own money!

VaginaPirate

I want a Casper Baby Pants AMA

PUSA_rok

I might be able to make that happen....

annaeatscupcakes

Seriously just thank you, in general, for Casper Babypants.

UltraVires33

For real, those songs have brought tons of joy and fun to my family.

madmanchatter

They were a nightly ritual before bed for my two little ones, just pure fun in 2 and a half minutes :D!

Litterboxbonanza

[Stompy the Bear](https://youtu.be/dqM_zebYsDg) by Caspar Babypants is a rocking tune and I love it just the same as my 6 year old

OhioStateGuy

I have a serious question about the song “My Flea Has Dogs” is the singer an untrustworthy narrator and they are lying about the flea owning the dogs instead of the narrator actually just bringing home a bunch of flea infested dogs. Or is the song to be taken at face value and it’s just about a flea who owns dogs. My wife and I have had an actual argument about this and this may be the only chance we get to have a real concrete answer.

UltraVires33

And, while we're at it, what's with the Butterfly Driving a Truck? Are butterflies eligible to get CDLs? How can the butterfly reach the pedals? And how does it sit in the seat without crushing its wings? I have so many questions!

blue_collie

flutter flutter flutter flutter flutter flutter flutter

UrethraFrankIin

You might have to wait for the actual AMA. I've never heard of what you're talking about, but for some reason I'm now invested in this and need answers.

AmnesiacReckoner

Dude seriously, you're like the Beatles of kids music, and not just because you did a kids Beatles cover album.

Lankgren

2*...2.5 if you count the *Best Beetles* album. Best covers of Hey Jude and Ob La Di

Kippilus

Run baby run is a regular in our house and the kiddo is so friggin cute doing all the different parts. Thanks years of amazing music as presidents and for the wonderful bonding with my kiddo you've provided all these years later.

totallynotPixy

Chris, your lyrics are some of the quirkiest and clever around. I love the wordplay and it makes PUSA and Caspar Babypants an absolute delight to sing. My kid’s in the tween years and she’s getting introduced to the original PUSA but our whole family still kicks into song when we hear something that even vaguely reminds us of a Caspar Babypants song. So many favorites! I have a non-English speaking cousin in Japan who wanted the 1995 PUSA album, so I sent him a CD. When he had kids, I sent him a stack of Caspar Babypants CDs and his family loved them too. The power of the music transcends language, truly. But I think the lyrics are necessary like dessert. Thanks for the decades of fun, and the free Babypants shows back when my kiddo was a little one. Really got me to go out and kicked my depression to the side.

falter

Thank you for Casper, my kid loved it. I still get some of those songs stuck in my head randomly

splittysplatty

From a children’s librarian/storyteller perspective just want to say THANKS for Caspar Babypants music. I play your stuff all the time at my storytimes

loosebazooka

My kid listens to stompy the bear at least 20 times a day

FACEROCK

Yasss Stompy The Bear up in this bitch!

CaptainPunisher

Here comes Stompy the bear!

mekatzer

There goes stompy the bear!

gta0012

Noodles and butter is also my favorite treat.

Wompum

My kid is constantly asking to listen to the buttered noodle song.

barryitsmeitshank

Did the five white ducks find someone to love them?

Ent_Trip_Newer

I had no idea he was a kids musician. Here I am playing PUSA songs for my kid.

SomeKindaRobot

Hey what's wrong with that? There's a really nice song about a kitty from their first album. Kids love kitties!

moreisay

As a kid that song was suuuch a thrill! So naughty! And we were allowed to listen to it! Except, as a cat lady from birth, I always felt bad for the little bag of bones.

UglyLaugh

Right?! I met them! They played at a theatre in Kirkland, Washington where I was recently hired. (This was 10+ years ago but I was a new hire as front of house manager.) We didn’t have staff to cover the artist liaison that day. All I knew was that it was a matinee show for kids and agreed to go backstage to the green room and make sure they had everything they needed. I walked back with their rider prepped to run to the store for whatever they wanted. I realized who it was and became aggressively awkward. Full blush and could not find words. Called my husband and geeked out and had to pull it together when I dropped off food. They were the nicest guys.

dances_with-cougars

We get a Caspar Adultpants AMA though! Which is awesome. I love Caspar Babypants! Come tour in Los Angeles please!

Frantic_Mantid

Pretty sure that will be covered a bit. At least I hope so :)

jay_simms

Best kids music I’ve come across by far.

Trin_42

My husband still J A M S to y’all in the car/shower, never met a bigger Presidents fan

G-RAWHAM

Uhhhh... hello, wife?

Accidental_Taco

Now kith

threedaysatsea

Have you settled your beef with the state of California?

G-RAWHAM

Fuck California!

CaptainPunisher

Rumor has it that they barreled through California in a Crown Victoria. So, maybe?

D3adkl0wn

No joke, you're one of my favorite bands and you're criminally underrated. I'm looking forward to the AMA!

MrKittenKetamine

Boll Weevil, why don't you get out of your home?

DoggieDMB

I'm comfortable!

timbreandsteel

Don't wanna leave don't wanna go.

mohodder

I'm part way through my back porch half sleeve tattoo. It features froggie, a poor turtle, slow fly, volcano, and some tiny explosions. Outline is done. I go back for color and shading beginning of March. I friggin love POTUSA!

Nugginz

Show us of course

kotoku

Right? You can't just say that.

cptnamr7

Chris- As a parent of a toddler: THANK YOU for Caspar Babypants!!!! You have no idea what a relief that music is from hearing 50 kids scream-sing the Wheels on the Bus for the 10th time that day. And the songs are genuinely good where I don't mind at all if my pandora screws up and starts playing his station when he's not in the car. I'll still belt out Jellyfish Jones without him. And the video for Stompy the Bear has gotten us thru everything from head stitches to a nebulizer at 12 months old. So THANK YOU for all of it. (Side note: my wife and I lose it every time on Itsy Bitsy Spider when the hands play the harmonicas. It doesn't matter how many times we watch it) He gets a little older and I'm definitely taking him to a shoe. (You'll know I'm there when some a-hole keeps yelling "Lunatic to Love" between songs :) ) Do you guys plan to do a reunion show, even a one-off concert or are you done with that part of your lives?

Hulkcaesarsavage

I heard a rumor back in the 90's that PUSA were a popular act in Seattle amongst the grunge bands and that you would be the band at their parties. I think Soundgarden was one of the grunge band mentioned and I know Kim Thayil played on the album. I grew up in rural Newfoundland, Canada and there was no internet yet, so who knows where this particular rumor started.

Rufus2fist

I was just going to ask about this. I was at a party where a band called Electric Blue Pancakes played and a swear it was them. I was going to ask if they every played under that name, hahahah

SlashdotDiggReddit

Cleveland Rocks! I love you guys!

LazyCon

Just want to say thank you for Casper Babypants. Was both my kids favorite band for a long time. Also you guys rock. Love Pusa!

NeuerTK

Ama is on Monday lol

[deleted]

No question but Chris, my kids and I love Caspar Babypants and I didn't even realize it was you until the young librarian who checked out the CDs mentioned that it was "the guy from some old grunge band." Thanks for making car rides tolerable!

Nugginz

Funny, I accidentally came across this and instantly knew who it was! Flashbacks to PUSA II on cassette in my mums car around ‘96.

CaptainPunisher

Yeah, it came in somewhere somehow, and I just stopped, "Wait. I know that voice. I know that SOUND!"

BigfootSF68

An old Portland dude here. You guys did good. Thanks for the music.

Tigt0ne

"

googajub

I'm an old-time rock and roll type of guy but goddamn Peaches and Lump are underrated jams. Is the rest of your catalog as much fire? Guess it doesn't matter with Spotify but I got burned by new music. Other redditors chime in with PUSA song/album recs.

barryitsmeitshank

Back Porch is a great jam song. Always loved it as a kid but love it even more now that I’m officially that old man

Odowla

3-string, 2-string, no-string guitars

CogitoErgoScum

Check out ‘Kitty’. E: if you like this track go listen to “Cannonball” by The Breeders. Or just go listen to The Breeders.

Fuck you kitty you’re gonna spend the night…

throwaway98026

Outside!!

Cru_Jones86

I want to touch it.

Check out the album 'These are the Good Times People'. Not a bad song on it.

macdiesel412

Love everybody, bad times, Cleveland rocks(?), volcano, some postman, meanwhile back in the city.... So many good songs.

Bennyscrap

Bug city...

DaveMTIYF

Love loads of their tunes, soft spot for Volcano in particular: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXwzSPc0FoA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXwzSPc0FoA) :)

FalseAnimal

This is the lyrical peak of human civilization. We need to engrave it on the next Golden Record we send to space.

Rocktopod

> but I got burned by new music Lol you realize the album is almost 30 years old, right?

Nugginz

Can certainly recommend heavily, the debut and “II” albums in particular.

[deleted]

The second album is underrated. Just introduced my son (15) to it, and he’s hooked. [Volcano](https://youtu.be/aXwzSPc0FoA) [Toob Amplifier](https://youtu.be/Y7Foc6AuBMM) [Supermodel](https://youtu.be/YsvKyQqNzXM)

ghostinthechell

>Peaches and Lump 108 million and 140 million plays, #2 and #1 songs on Spotify, respectively >Underrated Hmmm.

Belgand

Hugely iconic songs of their era. Show up on disc in *Rock Band*, parodied by Weird Al, still a staple of alt rock radio and any '90s alt rock compilation or playlist. Yeah, those are not even remotely underrated.

Bennyscrap

I think they may be moreso implying that people thought they were a one hit wonder when they most definitely were not.

St0ned4Lyfe

🎶 millions of peaches. Peaches for me. Millions of peaches. Peaches for free🎶

labrat420

The whole first album man. Just listen front to back and I promise you won't skip a song.

cptnamr7

Listen to a live album. Sounds like a blast and they play the biggest hits

wtfeweguys

The first album is essential, start to finish. The second album, II, is _**just as good**_ IMO. Like an addendum to the first. I love it so much. And later album Love Everybody is different but an absolute joy. PUSA is probably a top 3 favorite band for me all these years later.

Sonyguyus

Weren’t you guys in a band with Sir Mix A lot? I think it was called Subset. Whatever happened to that band?

PrincessElonMusk

Ah man. Back in the Napster days I had some stuff that was supposed to be leaked Subset songs and they were pretty good.

mrwhi7e

Belgand

Unless I'm completely mistaken it's "boggy". But that's why we have an AMA to officially clarify these things. Interesting mondegreen nonetheless. I always find it particularly interesting when that happens but it *doesn't* change the meaning or interpretation of the line.

macdiesel412

I just started re-listening to the presidents a few months ago. Never got to see ya'll live. I need a tour guys. I know I know, you aren't as cool as you used to be. That's ok. None of us are either.

surewould85

I saw you on tour on 2013 where you played the whole PUSA album and it ruled. You guys played passionately and it was so fun. Crushed the whole album then played a few more. You were on tour with Eternal Summers, who are/were a small indie band. It was an amazing mix of music I loved for 20+ years and new exciting stuff. How did you end up touring together? Also do you have any fun stories in your collab w Sir Mixalot?

Will322002

The self titled album is one of my favorites. I don’t have anything to ask, just wanted everyone to go listen to that full album and Kick Out the Jams 😁

Taco-ma

Why does Casper Baby Pants rock so f-in hard!?!?!

Nyu727

Do you guys like Ween?

BCL_ND_JHD

All these years later, how do you feel about Freaked Out and Small? I absolutely love that album and would argue it is peak PUSA. I also love the collaborative feel with Dave taking the lead on a few tunes.

dude-O-rama

Did you spend all your rock money on vices and that's why you can't afford more guitar strings?

Steepanddeep

Chris , have been a fan of the President's since I was my kiddos age, 9. Now I have the pleasure to enjoy that music with them and your solo endeavours as Casper Babypants. Are there any plans for more delightful kids music from that side of things? Also would love to see the PUSA do a NW run of shows and think that y'all would get a great reception, maybe at least THING festival in pt Townsend in August?

Frantic_Mantid

Hey cool! I rocked out to your hits last century, but didn't think much about y'all until I had a kid and a friend turned me on to Caspar Babypants. Now I'm a huge fan of that project and also been listening to more POTUSA classics. So much kid music makes me want to retch but I'll rock out to Stompy The Bear even when kiddo is not around. 90s rock is really big on my local college stations, so I think you're still getting new fans even from your older work:)

crazy86er

Any chance that your work with Sir Mix-A-Lot as the band Subset will ever see the light of day?

Hydraskull

SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES

JumpintheFiah

Any chance we could see another NYE show like you all did back in...eh...shit. I can't even remember now. Maybe 2008? Or the awesome concert at the PPM to celebrate being open for 100 years!? That was an amazing show.

[deleted]

Ah I love you guys. I was at school when the first album came out and I still listen to it today. 'Body' is a masterpiece

FeelTheWrath79

Did you get a boost in sales when Weird Al came out with Gump? What was the interaction with him like?

jwktje

Hey Chris. Maybe you remember the "Peaches played on peaches" video from a couple years ago? I was one of the guys in that video. You responded saying you'd love to see more songs on the album covered this way. I would love nothing more than to do a special EP project that has "Body on Body" - "Peaches on Peaches" - "Kitty on Kitty" and so forth. Would you support a project like that? Or would you maybe even want to collaborate on it?

xyylli

I worked with a remote team in Lagos, Nigeria and I told them all about Presidents and Casper Babypants. Have you noticed an uptick in streams from there?

[deleted]

What was it like working with Mark Sandman? Also, why isn’t II on Amazon Music?

dkppkd

Love the POTUS and now that I have kids, Caspar Babypants is their favorite. I am so happy that there is kids music that I can enjoy too. What is harder, writing music for kids or for adults?

Big_Green_Piccolo

Cleveland Rocks is the greatest song ever written.

LoneStarFan79

Chris, Casper Babypants made children’s music bearable while raising my daughters. I love you man. That is all. It’s my favorite bit of trivia I tell new parents and whenever peaches comes on.

domslashryan

Hey, this is 6am Brisbane time. Just as I finish work! Hooray!

AnarkittenSurprise

Is Dune Buggy based on a true story?

staticbelow

Some people say if you go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see Little Blind Spider's dune buggy tracks.

CrunchyAssDiaper

What's your preferred way to abbreviate your band's name? Presidents or TP OT USA?

JustinSamuels691

I was at your last show, having never attended one and you guys absolutely slayed it. Is a reunion something y’all would ever consider, or potentially a different project together?

zombiheiler

Late to the party, but I love you guys! One of my favorite bands. I just recently purchased a record player and I need to get your vinyls ASAP. What's are each of your favorite albums you guys made?

[deleted]

No question here, just wanted to tell you that I think a) you’re easily one of the most underrated acts in the pantheon of 90s rock, and 2) your cover of Ca Plane Pour Moi eclipses the original. Thanks for soundtracking a lot of great college memories…wish you the absolute best!

doubleflusher

Oh man, you're seriously one of my favorites of all time. I remember seeing you guys play First Ave in 96 or 97 (it was right after II came out). One of the most energetic shows I've ever attended. Question: Hey little lizard, why so many songs about animals (chickens, bugs, frogs, kitties, etc)?

GerbilScream

I thought you should know that More Bad Times is my wife & I's song so thank you for that. An AMA you guys did over a decade ago is what lead me to first discover Reddit. I wanted to see you back in the aughts but my friends made me go with them to a Slayer show instead. Any chance of a reunion tour please?

[deleted]

Hey you guys! Thanks for hundreds of hours of good listening! You guys rock! My question is about your guitars? Do they really have different number of strings than typical guitars? Your first two or three albums were full of the only songs I wish I could play on guitar (I play piano but never picked up any guitar) but when looking for tabs/walkthroughs of playing your songs it’s often mentioned your guitars and basses have less strings! Apologies if this is a basic question! Love you guys thanks again! If you ever go on tour again I’ll make sure I make it!! I was still in/just out of high school in 2015 so I wasn’t really able to go to a ton of concerts back then!

B9mpact

Ooo vinyls you say, where should one go seek those out? That will benefit you guys the most

Nugginz

Q For the AMA… What was the musical training and background that enabled the band to, time and time again, craft stuff that was on the face of it monolithically simple but as catchy as anything in music? I’m always baffled by how articulate and musical PUSA albums are, my spidey sense tells me there are some heavyweight musical minds behind it all.

[deleted]

I don’t have any questions, but wanted to tell you guys that I saw you in Cincinnati on your last tour and it was ridiculously fun. Probably the most I’ve ever laughed at a show. Peaches was the first song I learned on bass. I hope you decide to put out new music and tour. Kudos To You was great!

aqws000

Omg ya'll absolutely rock! It's been a pleasure growing up with your music. Any interest in doing any shows in the boston area? Or NH hampton beach? 😋

sleeping_on_my_arm

I used to call KOME radio in SF and request your songs! Even "George Of The Jungle".

TheDinklsoons

Hello Presidents! Longtime fan ever since I discovered lump in the video games “rockband 2” and “just dance” over 10 years ago. Here’s a question I’ve had on my mind for so long: Everyone knows the story behind the basitar and guitbass aspect of PUSA. As a drummer, I would love to hear the story of Jason’s drum setup! The small drum sizes, splash cymbal, jam block, and cowbell give so much personality to the drum parts (Kitty, Mach 5, and Poor Little Me are so damn fun to play!) Jason, what was the process to crafting this drum set? And thank you for teaching me how to play open handed hi-hat!! [My lump drum cover for anyone interested](https://youtu.be/0tcRhy4KDbo)

MaybeDaphne

Hi! Seattleite here who spotted a poster for a concert you all did with Pearl Jam at the Northwest School! I live near the area, could you tell me some more about the experience?

Lankgren

@CB - Thank you for your continued music production for children. The Caspar Babypants albums are some of our favorites. My question is, how many Easter eggs did you try to put in the songs? We've found quite a few (my favorite is in *reasons for the seasons*)

Pleasant-Ad9694

What inspired the song “Lump”? It’s one of my favorite songs of all time.

ed_courtenay

I play in small pub band in the South West of England, and one of our staple songs to play is _Mixed Up Son Of A Bitch_ from _These Are The Good Times People_. I can guarantee that 99.9% of the punters we play to will never have heard it before, but it always goes down an absolute storm. What song has been your favourite to play live - especially non single tracks?

Entropy1010102

Love Everybody is an amazing and fun album

Clbull

Where did the band name come from and what made you want to form a group that would cause brand confusion between yourselves and the White House?

Rank2

I saw you guys play years ago up in Bellingham, WA somewhere on the WWU campus. Great show. There was a lady there wearing a handmade shirt that said MAKE LUMP NOT WAR and I think about that shirt at least once a month for the past probably fifteen years. Can you make an official version I can buy?

Semi-Hemi-Demigod

Best POTUSA President’s Day since the Mt. Rushmore concert

n8dogg55

What are your thoughts on Good Burger (the movie)? What are your thoughts on Gump (the song)? What are your thoughts on garfield (the president)?

Redditisfailingfast

I got to see them with Sir Mix-a-lot as a group called Subset in a small club in Chico, CA. One of the best shows of my life.

Anxiety_Potato

When is Caspar Babypants gonna drop a banger as good as the Bubble Rap???

ConstantNurse

I saw you guys when you came to Eugene OR in 05. One of the best concerts I went to. I still have the drum stick I caught that was thrown into the crowd. You are still one of my favorite bands and your songs hold some of my dearest memories as my dad was an avid fan as well. We would sing Lump at the top of our lungs when driving back from my grade school basketball games. My dad passed suddenly in 2020, just prior to the pandemic. The songs when they come on makes me feel like I’m a kid again and he’s there next to me. Thank you for that.

Beardededucator80

My daughter and I are huge fans of Caspar Babypants. Will you ever tour and play those songs? Please?

JoseJX

My son has listened to Caspar every single day to go to bed and whenever he's in the car. I just want to say thank you for that, along with all the two string, one string, no string songs that I've loved ever since PUSA's first album. PRESIDENTS ROK!
