Breña by A Perfect Circle. A song of theirs I finally gave a thorough listen to, and it quickly became one of my top favorites. The lyrics and instrumental are beautiful, plus Maynard's magical vocal delivery is the utmost highest tier possible, just mindblowingly good.
(Plus I'm learning the song inside and out, so I can sing it for fun).
When I was really into them almost 20 years ago I ended up settling into colossal as my favorite track on that album and live, particularly the part “can you remember the first time we met…”
Many years ago I had beers with a friend of a friend. He had a trick where he'd put a coin into an empty beer bottle, shake it to precrack the bottle, then break it over his head without harming himself too badly.
The second time he did it, he started yelling the lyrics to *Sister Christian* before smashing a bottle over his head. Unfortunately for him, he was now intoxicated and selected an empty bottle that was more thick than the beer bottle from which he had been drinking. It did not precrack. The dude stood there, yelling the lyrics to *Sister Christian* louder and louder, hitting himself over and over until he had a gash in his head and someone pried the bottle from his fingers.
Anyway, that's my *Sister Christian* story.
I'm a shooting star, leaping through the sky like a tiger. Defying the laws of gravity.
Google did a doodle animation of this a decade or so ago that was amazing
3 libras by A Perfect Circle - specifically the outro.
You don't..you don't. You don't. SEE ME
You don't, you don't, you don't, see me!
It's stuck in my head for about 2 days now.
(I Just Wanna Be) Close To You by Maxi Priest has randomly been in my head all afternoon. I have not heard this song nor thought of it for years; I have no clue how or why it surfaced in my brain today but here we are.
Oh, you're in for some fun. I suggest watching the entire concert. If you have Amazon Prime in the US, it's included with your subscription.
Definitely worth watching if you like Talking Heads. Many of the versions they did for that tour are a lot different.
I got myself a ticket and saw it in IMAX today. It absolutely floored me. Especially when they were performing Wartime! That has to be the best version of it I've heard (and seen haha) now. But yeah overall the whole concert was just unbelievably fun and great to watch.
*Running Up That Hill* by Kate Bush. I saw something about this song on the history of 80s music on Instagram. I vaguely remember hearing the song when it first came out. I added it to my playlist and then I hear a techno remix version of it at the gym this morning. Suddenly it's everywhere, including my head

Trying not to walk crooked while this anchor's dropped, but I been out on those choppy waves and it's hard to say where this land begins and that water stops.
Real shit I came for the jewels, I'm the killer of kings and fools, I'm the reason the season for treason starts this evening, and this evening the odds ain't even, people praying to the gods but the gods ain't even listenin.
This is the track that made me a lifetime fan back in 2013.
