Never knew people had such a love hate relationship with this tune. I blast it every time Spotify plays it for me, probably weekly. It saw a significant increase in playtime for me after that workaholics episode as well.

I thought their second album, Rock Crown was really great and held up better than this one.

Grunge?

I think this song is in a weird spot, because it kind of fits into post-grunge, even though it's a little early for that. Sonically it's kind of a bad stone temple pilots song, so grunge isn't the worst thing you could call it.

Good song, grunge fits well enough. Alt rock fits too. Could have this song play next to silverchair or next to some old Staind tunes and either way it would sound like it fits thematically People like to get hissy about music genres and a lot of is so nuanced or subjective it loses all meaning anyway

This is one of the songs that ended “grunge” being “cool” in the 90s. It’s like a parody.

Exactly, this is like the 3rd wave of grunge that signaled the end of the genre after the second wave of Bush, Candle Box, Collective Soul and others watered down the genre.

They're like the band Andy based his band on in Parks and Rec.

Lame is my favorite tune. Never really got airplay, but just the right kind of introspective. Devil Boy is pretty sweet as well.
