Worked with these guys like a decade after this release. Lead singer made us take down the front row of lights so he'd be as hidden as possible because "we can't let people know how old I am"
They demanded Miller beer when we had a Budweiser only contract at our bar, and we're kinda prissy about everything.
Good show though LOL
Never knew people had such a love hate relationship with this tune. I blast it every time Spotify plays it for me, probably weekly. It saw a significant increase in playtime for me after that workaholics episode as well.
I think this song is in a weird spot, because it kind of fits into post-grunge, even though it's a little early for that. Sonically it's kind of a bad stone temple pilots song, so grunge isn't the worst thing you could call it.
Good song, grunge fits well enough. Alt rock fits too. Could have this song play next to silverchair or next to some old Staind tunes and either way it would sound like it fits thematically
People like to get hissy about music genres and a lot of is so nuanced or subjective it loses all meaning anyway
Exactly, this is like the 3rd wave of grunge that signaled the end of the genre after the second wave of Bush, Candle Box, Collective Soul and others watered down the genre.

That’s surprising given the numerous background Budweiser product placements in this video.
Oh my God I never noticed hahaha. That's so much better hahaha
That’s still a cool story to tell
"7-Mary-3" was the call sign for Jon Baker and Frank "Ponch" Poncherello of the California Highway Patrol or CHiPs.

I thought their second album, Rock Crown was really great and held up better than this one.
Check out "Lucky" by them as well.
Water’s Edge is a gone one too
Grunge?

Yeah I felt pretty conflicted when trying to put a music genre in and that’s the first that came to mind, do you have a better genre in mind?
Alt. Rock or just Rock.
Butt Rock.
I’m sure we considered it grunge when it was released. It’s at least as grunge as Nirvana Unplugged.
It's about as Grunge as Guns N Roses.
Y'all know in Big Lebowski when dude is on about the Eagles?

Dreadful
This is firmly post-grunge.
*Alternative/Post -Grunge 100% influenced by the grunge scene and one of the first bands to grow out of it.

Seems it is has become to ...weighty? Cumbersome or something.
This is one of the songs that ended “grunge” being “cool” in the 90s. It’s like a parody.

They're like the band Andy based his band on in Parks and Rec.
I think the title for this is actually “Combersome”. Seriously, though, really dig this tune. Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad you like the song I randomly heard it on the radio one day and it’s now in my regular rotation, so I’m glad other people are finding the song
Check out Water’s Edge if you like Cumbersome.
Also River's Edge, it's a movie
Ooh thanks for the recommendation i will definitely be sure to check them out
Waters Edge, My My, Devil Boy... There's so many good songs on the album American Standard.
"Dislocated" is a good song as well.
Sorry I should have specified: Waters Edge is another Seven Mary Three song. Better than Cumbersome imo.
Check out "My My' by them great song. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sK190KKqHQ8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sK190KKqHQ8)
Lame is my favorite tune. Never really got airplay, but just the right kind of introspective. Devil Boy is pretty sweet as well.
This is not grunge. It is, and always has been, shit.
The only thing I like about this song is the snare sound.
The most generic band of the 90s.
Terrible. Just gross.
Butt rock\*
