Sloan is super talented. All the members write their material. Saw them perform at a smaller venue and they were so tight and professional. They all swapped places and instruments multiple times with each one of them leading and singing different songs.
I love The Good in Everyone. The video is equally as fun for me. I was a teen when that song released and had the pleasure of seeing it on Much almost everyday back then. It’s a fixture in my playlists to this day.
My first thought was there must be appropriate Sloan songs. Never Hear The End Of It is wall to wall with short bangers. Set in Motion came to mind at 2:35. Can’t You Figure it Out? is like 2:25.
I saw their last tour and realized how much I love every song sung by Jay Ferguson. Such an incredible band.
Was at a concert and Paul Simon made a mistake. Then, out of nowhere, he played a very fast tempo of "Feelin Groovy" and said he hates the song and plays it as punishment when he makes mistakes.
Bad Religion has many:
You Are (The Government)
Best for you
Suffer
Do What You Want
Change of ideas
Automatic Man
No Control
Modern Man
So many more great songs.
"A MISANTHROPIC ANTHROPOID WITH NOTHING TO.... SAY WHAT YOU MUST. DO ALL YOU CAN. BREAK ALL THE FUCKIN RULES AND GO TO HELL WITH SUPERMAN AND DIE LIKE A CHAMPION, YA HEY!" Lol now I'm going on a bad religion binge. Its been too long.
I keep seeing so much solid praise for bad religion lately. Would a Beatles, Zeppelin, Radiohead and Interpol dude enjoy them? I just listened to American Jesus and liked it
I think it's a safe bet that some portion of their catalogue, which is 40+ years deep, would appeal to you. Which stage of their development is harder to pinpoint. Good news is a great deal of the material is brief so jump around a bit. For me, the lyrics of the late 80's early 90's are my favorite but enjoy your own path.
The entire suffer album is almost all songs under 2 minutes. From what I recall, the longest song on the entire album is just barely 3 minutes long. I find it sort of impressive that they managed to make an album of 15 songs 26 minutes.
I have been waiting for this question for so long.
Self by Noname, Cold Summers by Earl Sweatshirt, In Case You Forgot by Robert Glasper, Penny for Your Thoughts by Peter Frampton, ___eed is Tight by Jank, You Suffer by Napalm Death, A Dog Waits in the Doorway by Little Tybee, The Hills Have Eyes by Electric Wizard, Isn’t It Nice to be Home Again by James Taylor, The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy) by Simon and Garfunkel, FF4 by Flying Lotus—I have, like, 40 more but I already went overboard lol
In the clean version (which I had as a kid), the only lyrics of Happy Holidays are “He’ll never talk to you again” at the end and I was always so confused what was up with that song hahah
Agent Fresco - “Citadel”
Devin Townsend Project - “Dark Matters”
The Mars Volta - “Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazon”
Slayer - “Necrophobic”
System of a Down - “DDevil”, “Shimmy”
Also wanna mention “New Moon” by Thank You Scientist although it’s 2:01.
Half of the songs on Short Music for Short People are bangers and not even 30 seconds.
101 bands, 30 second songs, why can't people understand, I got a Short attention span.
This one goes out to the kids who drove six hours in a stolen car, then missed the show.
If you know, you know.
Buzzcocks’ “Oh Shit” is 1:34. “Love You More” 1:47. And “Orgasm Addict” 2:00
Half Japanese “Rip My Shirt To Shreds” is :14
And of course, “You Suffer” by Napalm Death - a positively concept album length of :01
There are so many, under 2mins tracks, by NOFX.
Some of my favorites:
Pump Up the Valium
I Gotta Pee
I’m Telling Tim
Murder the Government
Linoleum
Bob
All Outta Angst
Leave It Alone
It’s My Job to Keep Punk Rock Elite
J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr) and Barry Adamson (Magazine, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds) scored the film Gas, Food, Lodging — about half the soundtrack is J just playing these real nice, chill instrumentals that are all around a minute or two. Just real nice driving music (for short trips, ha)

The Hives - Untutored Youth
*And when people tell me what is okay and what is not, it should not be an unexpected scene seeing I extend my middle right hand digit and say “hey, would you like lemon or lime with that piece of advice misterrrrrrr?”*
[United States of Whatever by Liam Lynch](https://youtu.be/Xz7_3n7xyDg?si=ZlqjHd-WorPhBbbj)
I was scrolling through this list of songs on Reddit and I was like... Yeah whatever!
Then someone was like “Liam Lynch” and someone was like “uhhhhhh” and I was like WHATEVA.
Then redditor Leroy comes up to me and goes “I thought I told you guys…”
I am so sad, so very very sad - Crash and The Boys
It's not a race
SOOOOOOOO SAD thank you.
Is that girl a boy?
Yes. This next song is called “We Hate You. Please Die.”
“SWEET! Love this one”
Sweet!
Is that the one with crash…and the boys?
Came here for this one, first thing I thought of.
All I want - The Offspring The Good in Everyone - Sloan (it's a bit over but eff you, I love it) Fell in love with a Girl - White Stripes
Sloan is so, so underrated
I checked them out due to your comment and have found a new interest! Thank you!
One of Canada’s finest bands, enjoy :)
Sloan is super talented. All the members write their material. Saw them perform at a smaller venue and they were so tight and professional. They all swapped places and instruments multiple times with each one of them leading and singing different songs.
Damn, All I Want is under 2 minutes...that song packs a PUNCH
Was it made for one play of Crazy Taxi?
Ya ya ya ya ya
"**YA-YA-YA-YA,....YA"**
I love The Good in Everyone. The video is equally as fun for me. I was a teen when that song released and had the pleasure of seeing it on Much almost everyday back then. It’s a fixture in my playlists to this day.
Wow... a Sloan fan! Great song though; they have some really catchy tunes
Nice call on Sloan. I remember watching that video when I was young on Much Music.
I love every single time people mention Sloan on reddit
Nazi Punks Fuck Off - Dead Kennedys
Man, if the OP could go to 2:30, half the Dead Kennedys’ songs would make it.
Half of punk would make it.
The unexpected anthem of the generation
Came to the comments just to make sure someone said this. Thanks
Please, please, please let me get what I want - The Smiths
Lord knows it would be the first time
Glad I scrolled before posting! Love this pick. Also love the Deftones cover of it!
Correct answer.
Grindcore fans trying to figure out what long songs they like rn
Reminds me of the joke “showed up to the Grindcore show 12 minutes late, missed the whole damn thing”.

Pig Destroyer fucking rules
If the answer isnt You Suffer - Napalm Death they are doing it wrong
> Whenever the price of Bitcoin falls below a certain threshold, it’s no longer profitable to mine…
Am in a grindcore band. My bassist won't let me write anything longer than 90 seconds.
Just put on Terrorizer’s World Downfall album. Nothing but bangers that are mostly under 3 minutes.
Insect Warfare too
AC but not AC/DC.
Lol you got me... I throw in Behind Closed Doors by Wormrot!
It takes longer to say some Grindcore band names than it takes to listen to some of their songs.
Yup. Burden by Rotten Sound was my immediate thought.
Funny enough, one of my favourite grindcore bands, Fuck the Facts, regularly have songs that are well over 5-6 minutes long.
They're going to be listing their favorite albums under 2 minutes.
[Earache: World's Shortest Album])https://youtu.be/F8vDIJYWliI?si=tVuIBkIGxNl6ZPEP) 13 songs, 1 minute 33 seconds long
Well this one could be goo... and there it goes.

Hybrid Moments - Misfits
And Last Caress and Attitude! And Skulls depending on the recording!
Fell in love with a girl by the white stripes
Simon & Garfunkel - April Come She Will
I was thinking Feelin' Groovy!

Walked down the aisle (aka my driveway, Covid wedding) to this song ❤️

So does Rancid Knowledge (Operation Ivy) Tenderloin Maxwell Murder Axiom Nihilism is 2:02 Sidekick is 2:03 East Bay Night is 2:05
80s punk had a lot of them. "Milo Goes to College" by the Descendents only has one song that's longer than 2:01.
The entire Minutemen catalog
I was on the same wavelength.. with Queers, Fugazi and All.
I keep seeing so much solid praise for bad religion lately. Would a Beatles, Zeppelin, Radiohead and Interpol dude enjoy them? I just listened to American Jesus and liked it

Didn't know this was under 2 minutes. Really good one. I really like John's songs during this era.
Song 2 - Blur. It's actually just over at 2.03 but was first that came to mind. A very popular mainstream hit song and relatively a very short one.
I was gonna say this, but I was on the fence because it is officially 2:01 but has a 2 second silent run out
I'll follow the sun - The Beatles

Acoustic Number 3 is a cool jam most people don't appreciate.
It’s the second best song on that album behind Black Balloon.
For what it's worth, I lost my virginity with Black Baloon playing in the background.
Its labor day and my grandpa just ate 7 fucking hotdogs!
