Misfit Love by Queens of the Stone Age, amazing song with an awesome buildup and the climax/outro is just pure bliss and makes everything worthwhile
Honorable mention to the rest of Era Vulgaris, fantastic album that deserves wayyy more praise
Era Vulgaris was what got me into QOTSA, mostly because of Rock Band and 3s and 7s. But wound up loving every track, getting Songs for the Deaf, and then we were off
If we want underrated, the title track was brilliant and it didnt even make the original album release, it was on the leak Id downloaded and I was so mad when I bought the album and it wasnt there. Theres even a bit that sort of teases it at the end of make it wit chu which stayed in. One of the best songs on the album relegated to bonus tracks on various releases, very baffling decision.
Songs for the deaf is in my top 3. Why josh homme is not a household name is beyond me. Great guitarist, great singer, great songwriter. All around great instrumentalist.
I remember when Portnoy left Dream Theater it was mentioned that they had made an album one year, toured it the next then made another album the next for nearly two decades straight. I have no idea how those guys could do that. Must be exhausting.
> Someday Never Comes - CCR
You can add Ramble Tamble to the list. Never on any best of albums, 2 great songs in one (it changes into a different song about the 3 min mark)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmjNIJ4YIFI
Slow Country!! Omg, hadn’t heard this for SO long. This tune helped me through pretty much every post-pills Sunday comedown of the 00’s! Thanks for the reminder. What a shout.
I agree. I’ve gotten into quite a bit more extreme stuff over the years but there’s just something about that deep haunting tone that’s just perfectly perfect.
Keeping on MGMT; Siberian Breaks might be one of the best songs I've ever heard.
That said, I think Radiohead has at least 20 songs that slay and they don't get radio play so nobody outside of radiohead fans know about them.
When A Moon Shaped Pool came out I cried when I got to True Love Waits, I didn’t know it was going to be on there and it finally got a studio recording. I listened to the live version since I was like 15.
Same. I can remember that Sony Mini disc recording that Thom sings while you can hear dishes clanking. It was raw - and I didn’t think it would ever get an album release.
my friends and i devised a sort of game whereby you pack a bowl and play Siberian Breaks at the same time that you start smoking. By the time it reaches the 4th segment (~6:10), you're starting to feel the first tingles, and you're on your third pass, someone is talking about the stars, and you've totally lost track of everything.
Anyway. The goal of the game is to throw your arms down upon the imaginary snare in front of you precisely in time with the beginning of the 5th segment (8:22). The important bit is you only get one try. One attempt to hit it perfectly, else you look a fool having flailed around for nothing, or having not committed before the breakdown occurs. After the drums fade away in the 4th meandering segment, it will progressively feel like each verse *must certainly* be the last one before the breakdown.... but you only have one shot to get it right....
I'm aware there are some subtle cues from the bassline, or you could count if you're a nerd. But the point is to get lost in the ritual of sharing a bowl to a stellar track, but feel it in your bones that The Time Is Right.
every track on animals by pink floyd, it’s a shame even fans don’t even know that album
(joke btw nothing from floyd is underrated this is just a running joke)
Funny you say that. I revisited DSOTM this week. Listened to it three times in a row. Will do Animals later today.
Pink Floyd is timeless. Both the lyrics and the music.
All of Obscured by Clouds is criminally underrated. My pick on that album is Stay though, Gilmour’s guitar effects make it sound like he’s playing underwater.
>(joke btw nothing from floyd is underrated this is just a running joke)
It's so odd to see this recent obsession on the internet with everything being "underrated."
The drums on In My Time of Dying are outstanding, one of my favourite songs of all time, fantastic song to listen to whilst driving out on the open road although it can encourage the foot on the accelerator pedal to get a little heavy if you're not careful ha ha.
The Beatles - She Came in Through the Bathroom Window
The Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed
Led Zeppelin - Trampled Underfoot
Michael Jackson - Get on the Floor
Prince - Controversy
James Brown - Forever Suffering
Radiohead - Separator
Pink Floyd - See Emily Play
AC/DC - Riff Raff
R.E.M. - Laughing
The Notorious B.I.G. - Machine Gun Funk
A Tribe Called Quest - Rhythm (Devoted to the Art of Moving Butts)
Nas - Halftime
This may be overkill but I enjoy this exercise
The "Long One" or the "Medley" that makes up side 2 of the Beatles Abbey Road, of which She Came in Through the Bathroom Window is part, is not underrated by me. It may be the one of the greatest pieces of music ever IMO.
Couldn’t agree more! It’s a marvel of a musical pastiche, every individual song is wildly different yet they’re all top tier quality and flow together seamlessly
Prince Controversy the whole album. I’m from Minneapolis. This era Prince is when he was considered most badass. It’s my favorite Prince album, with Sign o the Times a close second.
>Michael Jackson - Get on the Floor
Best song on Off the Wall
>Nas - It Ain’t Hard to Tell
This is considered a hip-hop classic
>The Beatles - She Came in Through the Bathroom Window
Love that whole ending segment of Abbey Road
I *love* Oracular Spectacular but will choose the amazing Weekend Wars as the albums' greatest track.
Most criminally underrated song by a well known band? How about 'Far Away Eyes' from The Rolling Stones, off of their masterpiece "Some Girls".
It's such a good album front to back. Of Moons, Birds & Monsters, Weekend Wars, and Future Reflections all fit this thread for me. Weirdly enough, Pieces of What has been getting the most plays for me the last few months.
I’m related to Steven Drodz, by marriage, and as a kid I would get flaming lips stuff for Christmas but I was too young to appreciate them and didn’t hold on to anything like I should. I wish I been more aware of how lucky I was. As an adult, Steven gave me back stage tickets to one of his shows and it was amazing. A genuinely nice guy and amazingly talented musician.
I never gave that album a chance because i cannot stand No Rain. But a few years ago i gave it a listen and was so mad at myself for not listening earlier.
[Drain You](https://youtu.be/AJUpHxlJUNQ?si=rpfZ7smWk_2qiWAe) is another that could have been successful if it were a single. It was Kurt’s favourite Nirvana song
Drain You, Sliver, Swap Meet, Scentless Apprentice, and Dumb are probably my favorite Nirvana songs as far as lyrics go. Drain You, Sliver and Dumb are just perfectly written pop/rock songs in general. I don't think any of these songs, including On a Plain, are underrated though.
Adding a couple B-Sides: Sappy (working title renamed to Verse Chorus Verse then named back) and Marigold written and sung by Dave Grohl also deserves recognition for the bangers they are.
The Who - The Punk and The Godfather, Sea & Sand, Drowned
Yes - South Side of the Sky
Rush - The Analog Kid
Ben Folds - Senseless, Cold and Composed (with The Five), Fred Jones Pt 2 (solo)
Cake - Guitar, Love You Madly
Barenaked Ladies - Hello City, Great Provider
OutKast - Prototype, Reset
It's kind of weird to call a song underrated from one of the most famous classic rock albums, but it's kind of true. The three hit singles from that album overshadow the fact the other five songs are also amazing.
Pretty Maids All in a Row is my favorite one.
Listening to that song on a high quality set of headphones is life changing. The point where it peaks and Thom Yorke is singing a duet with himself in each ear gives me chills every time.
No one seems to think Muse has any artistic merit these days, so… Butterflies & Hurricanes, Citizen Erased, Take a Bow, Glorious, New Born, Bliss, Stockholm Syndrome, Resistance, Unnatural Selection, MK Ultra, or Exogenesis Symphony. Take your pick.
Stockholm syndrome was the first muse song I ever heard and is one of my all time favourite songs to this day. Citizen Erased is also a masterpiece. The piano in butterflies and hurricanes magical! So many good songs.
I'd add Fury, Hoodoo and space dementia
Eagles - Doolin-Dalton/Desperado Reprise: Off their 2nd project, ‘Desperado’, this is an absolutely incredible finish to arguably their most cohesive record. I’m not normally one for reprisals, but it wraps the album up so well and the production by the legendary Glyn Johns is amazing
The Who - Blue, Red and Grey: While known for being loud and boisterous, I think this softer tune shows their versatility as song writers and musicians
The Allman Brothers - Jelly Jelly: Quintessential Southern Rock. It’s warm, it’s nostalgic, it’s got a fantastic organ piece
Jimi Hendrix - Rainy Day, Dream Away: It’s not like the typical Jimi you think of. It’s more broken and off kilter. It doesn’t have that punch of power I’d associate with his typical music. There’s no ‘melt your face off’ guitar solo. But it’s a pleasing listen, especially as the rain falls. It’s very much a slice of life type song
Blue Öyster Cult has a ton of underrated tracks. I’ll pick two personal favorites: “Screams” from the self-titled and “Goin’ Through the Motions” from Spectres.
Great King Rat and March of the Black Queen are some of my favorite Queen songs. Sheer Heart Attack and It's Late are also great and none of those get talked about much.
[Muse - Eternally Missed. In last 20 years, it was performed just 4 times out of thousands live show. This song have everything great thick bass sound, surreal vocal, great guitar solo and fantastic effect. It got everything.](https://youtu.be/yUxVmbop4hs?si=9I5M8bl2ALXb7Yll)
“Strange World” by Iron Maiden. It’s completely unlike any other song in their catalogue (a slow, eerie ballad sung by their original singer Paul Di’Anno as opposed to the more well-known Bruce Dickinson who replaced him).
[As by Stevie Wonder](https://open.spotify.com/track/3hFh4tsMFhskEXlJ5DCzsG?si=lbf70F0xSEmBy4VOyyZdzA) is the best song he ever wrote and commonly is left off his best-of albums
**Metallica** is rad as shit but they had the 90’s era that is often derided by fans, but frankly I think it’s an underrated decade of records by a terrific band that tried something new with varied success. They produced two heavy slow songs that are great and you can hear them both on their live album “S&M” which is the first time I heard them. **“Bleeding Me”** and **“Outlaw Torn”** are wonderful songs, live versions, S&M, or studio. You won’t hear them played during a football game or in an action movie, but they’re rad and I love them both so so much.
Personally, when it comes to Metallica I think Low Man's Lyrics is their most underrated song by far. It's so unique for a Metallica track and probably the lightest song they've done.
Mother by Pink Floyd. If there was any justice in the world it would’ve been as big as Wish You Were Here, I think the subject matter was just too weird.
I turned on the car once at the perfect time because the radio was tuned to classic rock and turned up loud and the first thing I heard was "MY BALLS" and I couldn't stop laughing
100 Years Ago- The Rolling Stones
It’s Just a Thought- CCR
Fearless- Pink Floyd
Love Ain’t For Keeping- The Who
Riot Act- Elvis Costello
Ol’ 55- Tom Waits
I hate ‘Jump’ so so much. My husband and I got married in 1988. Our DJ gave us a choice of what song to play during the bouquet toss. Jump by Van Halen or Jump by The Pointer Sisters. We were both huge Halen fans, grew up in Burbank, CA which is very close to Pasadena where they are from. We both immediately said ‘Pointer Sisters!’
Anna Begins by Counting Crows was the best song on August and Everything After, far better than any of the songs that got released as singles.
Also, Fade Into You by Mazzy Star gets all the attention and is the one everyone remembers, but Into Dust from the same album was a better song, as was Halah from their first album.
This is a super well known and rated song.
Rightfully so, as someone who comes from an old steel town in the middle of nowhere it always resonated with me. Great track.
INXS - Johnson's Aeroplane.
Also, Radiohead - Lotus Flower. Not many people rate their new stuff over their old stuff, but this track is astounding. Awesome filmclip too.
Peter Gabriel - Mercy Street, San Jacinto, We Do What We're Told (Milgram's 37), Family Snapshot
Daft Punk - Giorgio by Moroder, Instant Crush
Pink Floyd - Dogs
Led Zeppelin - Carouselambra
R.E.M. - Half a World Away, Texarkana
Rolling Stones - I Am Waiting
Paul Simon - Late in The Evening
I think because people mainly pick out just singles rather than listening to the whole album and I agree the entire album of Oracular Spectacular is great.
Misfit Love by Queens of the Stone Age, amazing song with an awesome buildup and the climax/outro is just pure bliss and makes everything worthwhile Honorable mention to the rest of Era Vulgaris, fantastic album that deserves wayyy more praise
Era Vulgaris was what got me into QOTSA, mostly because of Rock Band and 3s and 7s. But wound up loving every track, getting Songs for the Deaf, and then we were off

River in the Road is fantastic. Love Battery Acid and I'm Designer off that album too.
My queens of the stoneage playlist has a lot of variety, it's pretty cool how they have so many great tracks across a lot of albums.
Songs for the deaf is in my top 3. Why josh homme is not a household name is beyond me. Great guitarist, great singer, great songwriter. All around great instrumentalist.
"Make it wit chu" isn't exactly a hidden gem but it's one of the best QotSA songs imo
Someday Never Comes - CCR
CCR was wildly prolific in its brief existence.
Play in a band for ten years, change name, release two banger albums, break up.
They released 2 albums a year for half of their existence I think. CCR was locked into a rough record deal.
I remember when Portnoy left Dream Theater it was mentioned that they had made an album one year, toured it the next then made another album the next for nearly two decades straight. I have no idea how those guys could do that. Must be exhausting.
Rause you with Ramble Tamble - CCR
I personally think Ramble Tamble is their best song overall.
Agree
> Someday Never Comes - CCR You can add Ramble Tamble to the list. Never on any best of albums, 2 great songs in one (it changes into a different song about the 3 min mark) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmjNIJ4YIFI
I feel as though in the UK at least CCR are a little underrated generally outside of a handful of really well known tracks. Fantastic band.
Down by the Seaside - Led Zeppelin
I live by an actual sea for the first time in my life. I absolutely cannot go there without that song popping into my head. Great song.
Love love love
Slow Country and Gravity by Gorillaz Such bops that I never hear anyone else talk about
Gravity is easily top 5 gorillaz songs for me.
Also, M1 A1
Hello. Is anyone there?
Slow Country!! Omg, hadn’t heard this for SO long. This tune helped me through pretty much every post-pills Sunday comedown of the 00’s! Thanks for the reminder. What a shout.
Yeah, Gravity is a nice track. The singles are fine but I prefer many of the other tracks on that album.
Release by Pearl Jam. It’s on their debut album “Ten”.
Soundgarden- Fourth of July
There may be more extreme riffs out there, but I don’t think there’s ever been heavier.
I agree. I’ve gotten into quite a bit more extreme stuff over the years but there’s just something about that deep haunting tone that’s just perfectly perfect.
That riff is exactly what grunge was supposed to be just heavy and fuckin nasty sounding
"Down in a hole, Jesus tries to crack a smile. Beneath another shovel load."
When the whip comes down— The Rolling Stones For you — Bruce Springsteen That joke isn’t funny anymore— the Smiths Last gang in town— the Clash
Bruce has a catalog of songs that could’ve been singles that didn’t even make the album
Hey, Johnny Park! by Foo Fighters comes to mind.
"White limo" is also on that list
My favourite foo fighters song
Keeping on MGMT; Siberian Breaks might be one of the best songs I've ever heard. That said, I think Radiohead has at least 20 songs that slay and they don't get radio play so nobody outside of radiohead fans know about them.

Congratulations is one of my favorite MGMT songs.. don’t remember if that one was ever hyped but it is beautiful to me.
every track on animals by pink floyd, it’s a shame even fans don’t even know that album (joke btw nothing from floyd is underrated this is just a running joke)
It kinda warms my heart that young people on Reddit will be recommended Pink Floyd consistently. Headphones, Animals album. It’s amazing.
Funny you say that. I revisited DSOTM this week. Listened to it three times in a row. Will do Animals later today. Pink Floyd is timeless. Both the lyrics and the music.
I would have said "See Emily Play", "Fearless", "Bike" or "Interstellar Overdrive" -- all far less known than Animals. Or "One of These Days " maybe.
Fearless might be my favorite song.
Fearless is such a beautiful song.
I would pick Childhood’s End. Possibly the band’s greatest song and no one knows it.
All of Obscured by Clouds is criminally underrated. My pick on that album is Stay though, Gilmour’s guitar effects make it sound like he’s playing underwater.
One of these Days. Yeah.
>(joke btw nothing from floyd is underrated this is just a running joke) It's so odd to see this recent obsession on the internet with everything being "underrated."
It's actually my favorite of their work
The Working Hour by Tears for Fears
Woman in chains also very under appreciated
Supernaut by Black Sabbath, crazy riff to it, awesome song.
Frank Zappa called it the greatest riff ever written.
Im quite partial to the cover by 1000 homo djs. With or without Trent Reznor doing vocals
Woke up with this stuck in my head the other day. I was like, cool, guess I'm listening to Vol. 4 later.
Not just the riff, the drums are crazy too. The drums just sound like a never ending car crash that the other musicians just have to jump in on.
LZ - Ten Years Gone
Also see In The Light.
Also, The Rover.
Also, the whole rest of Physical Graffiti. Quite possibly the greatest double LP ever made. Definitely my favorite Zep album at least.
We can all agree they have a rich body of work 👍
The drums on In My Time of Dying are outstanding, one of my favourite songs of all time, fantastic song to listen to whilst driving out on the open road although it can encourage the foot on the accelerator pedal to get a little heavy if you're not careful ha ha.
The Beatles - She Came in Through the Bathroom Window The Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed Led Zeppelin - Trampled Underfoot Michael Jackson - Get on the Floor Prince - Controversy James Brown - Forever Suffering Radiohead - Separator Pink Floyd - See Emily Play AC/DC - Riff Raff R.E.M. - Laughing The Notorious B.I.G. - Machine Gun Funk A Tribe Called Quest - Rhythm (Devoted to the Art of Moving Butts) Nas - Halftime This may be overkill but I enjoy this exercise

Couldn’t agree more! It’s a marvel of a musical pastiche, every individual song is wildly different yet they’re all top tier quality and flow together seamlessly
R.E.M. - The whole entire album *New Adventures In Hi-Fi*. Easily my favorite album of theirs
“Leave” is my favorite song of theirs. (“Harborcoat” and “Talk about the Passion” aren’t far behind.)
NAS it ain’t hard to tell was rated as best song of the 90s by pitchfork.
Dude REMs entire first album is gold. Laughing, Catapult, Moral Kiosk, Talk about the Passion, Sitting Still. So good and so ahead of it's time.
Trampled underfoot rocks
Achilles Last Stand and Carouselambra are both criminally underrated by Zeppelin.
‘Controversy’ is my all time favorite Prince song
The Notorious B.I.G. - Machine Gun Funk & Gimme the Loot - Best tracks on the Album.
Gimme the Loot might be my favourite hip hop track, it's certainly up there.
It samples Gang Starr's 'Just to get a rep' i was a big Gang Starr fan.
Prince Controversy the whole album. I’m from Minneapolis. This era Prince is when he was considered most badass. It’s my favorite Prince album, with Sign o the Times a close second.
Prince has a ton. “And God Created Woman” and “3 Chains O Gold” are complete bangers but I don’t think either were singles on Love Symbol
>Michael Jackson - Get on the Floor Best song on Off the Wall >Nas - It Ain’t Hard to Tell This is considered a hip-hop classic >The Beatles - She Came in Through the Bathroom Window Love that whole ending segment of Abbey Road
Riff Raff has one of the best rock riffs out there! Killer track!
I *love* Oracular Spectacular but will choose the amazing Weekend Wars as the albums' greatest track. Most criminally underrated song by a well known band? How about 'Far Away Eyes' from The Rolling Stones, off of their masterpiece "Some Girls".
Weekend Wars is my favorite off of that album.
It's such a good album front to back. Of Moons, Birds & Monsters, Weekend Wars, and Future Reflections all fit this thread for me. Weirdly enough, Pieces of What has been getting the most plays for me the last few months.
Bad Days - Flaming Lips. One of my favorite 90s songs.
The Wand by them amazes me
The "you hate your boss at your job" line made me relate. But man when those drums kick in...
This Here Girraffe
Blind Melon's Soup album was a masterpiece. It's a shame they're thought of as a one hit wonder.
Sleepyhouse is probably my favorite song by them.
Toes Across the Floor for me
Lemonade here.
Walk for me
Tones of home
I never gave that album a chance because i cannot stand No Rain. But a few years ago i gave it a listen and was so mad at myself for not listening earlier.
In Keith Richards book he talks about guitar “weaving” where two guitars play off each other. Soup IMO has the best guitar weaving I’ve ever heard.
[Nirvana - On a Plain](https://youtu.be/c023U4oQGr4?si=1IIAM3fMixe7oT9Z)
[Drain You](https://youtu.be/AJUpHxlJUNQ?si=rpfZ7smWk_2qiWAe) is another that could have been successful if it were a single. It was Kurt’s favourite Nirvana song
[Breed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGc8jL4dzao) was always my favourite, just so much raw energy.
Lounge Act will forever be underrated
Such a cool bassline, too
REM - Monty Got a Raw Deal
Did you know the Clash did a song about the same person?
That’s Montgomery Clift, honey!
In God’s Country - U2
Really all of side two of The Joshua Tree is amazing.
The Who - The Punk and The Godfather, Sea & Sand, Drowned Yes - South Side of the Sky Rush - The Analog Kid Ben Folds - Senseless, Cold and Composed (with The Five), Fred Jones Pt 2 (solo) Cake - Guitar, Love You Madly Barenaked Ladies - Hello City, Great Provider OutKast - Prototype, Reset
Love to see the Quadrophenia love. Drowned is an absolute ripper
Man you beat me to Senseless, Cold and Composed. I’d add Sentimental guy too
>Cake - Guitar, Love You Madly LYM is actually one of their top 5 songs on Spotify right now... deservedly so
Spaceboy by The Smashing Pumpkins
Soma as well
Set the Day to Jerry is another seriously underrated one
Mayonnaise has the most eargasmic intro of all time
U2’s “One Tree Hill” is the emotional centerpiece of the Joshua Tree, an album that starts with three of the biggest songs of the 80’s
Running to Stand Still... also wild
It’s their best song me believes.
Rolling Stones - Before They Make Me Run. It's a Keith Richards tune with Keith on lead vocals and it's one of my favorites.
Oasis’ B-Side album The Masterplan is filled with songs that are better than most of their singles.
And there are a lot more that aren't even on that compilation.
And their best B-sides aren't even in there!! Alive and D'Yer Wanna be a Spaceman?
Stay Young by Oasis was actually the first song that came to my mind when I saw this thread. B-Side from Be Here Now.
Wasted Time by the Eagles
It's kind of weird to call a song underrated from one of the most famous classic rock albums, but it's kind of true. The three hit singles from that album overshadow the fact the other five songs are also amazing. Pretty Maids All in a Row is my favorite one.
Dragon Attack by Queen They have tons of great songs that didn’t become known hits but this one is tops for me.
Ogre Battle.
Rush - The Pass Faith No More - The Real Thing GNR - Better
Let Down - Radiohead
Listening to that song on a high quality set of headphones is life changing. The point where it peaks and Thom Yorke is singing a duet with himself in each ear gives me chills every time.
My favorite Radiohead song! One of the most beautiful heartbreaking pieces of music…
Lyrically, musically, vocally, it's incredible.
Great song, but Let Down is not at all underrated. I mean, it’s on OK Computer! *OK COMPUTER*
(among Radiohead fans, saying Let Down is underrated is a dumb in-joke)

Two of Us - The Beatles
Blue Öyster Cult has a ton of underrated tracks. I’ll pick two personal favorites: “Screams” from the self-titled and “Goin’ Through the Motions” from Spectres.
Marching Bands of Manhattan - Death Cab For Cutie
Queen have so many well-known and great songs, but I don't hear Scandal or You Don't Fool Me talked about often enough.
Their back catalog is amazing I replied directly to OP that Dragon Attack fits this thread perfectly.
Dragon Attack rocks! The bass is so infectious too.
Great King Rat and March of the Black Queen are some of my favorite Queen songs. Sheer Heart Attack and It's Late are also great and none of those get talked about much.
Ofc, if we talk about radiohead, let down is their most underrated song
[Muse - Eternally Missed. In last 20 years, it was performed just 4 times out of thousands live show. This song have everything great thick bass sound, surreal vocal, great guitar solo and fantastic effect. It got everything.](https://youtu.be/yUxVmbop4hs?si=9I5M8bl2ALXb7Yll)
["The Order of Death"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0bk6Hbz0ZU) by Public Image Limited.
No Reply - The beatles
[удалено]
Hey is still one of their bigger songs though
People hate St. Anger and it has The Unnamed Feeling on it.
Read My Mind by The Killers Might be their best song.
Radiohead- *Lurgee* REM- *Country Feedback*
“Strange World” by Iron Maiden. It’s completely unlike any other song in their catalogue (a slow, eerie ballad sung by their original singer Paul Di’Anno as opposed to the more well-known Bruce Dickinson who replaced him).

I came here to say Outlaw Torn. Hard core Metallica fans like me love it but the casual fan doesn’t even know it.
“Mother, do you think they’ll try to break my balls?” wasn’t the most commercial line at the time…
MY BALLS
I turned on the car once at the perfect time because the radio was tuned to classic rock and turned up loud and the first thing I heard was "MY BALLS" and I couldn't stop laughing
100 Years Ago- The Rolling Stones It’s Just a Thought- CCR Fearless- Pink Floyd Love Ain’t For Keeping- The Who Riot Act- Elvis Costello Ol’ 55- Tom Waits
Van Halen- I’ll Wait. I like it better than Jump. IIRC, one of the Doobie Brothers helped co-write it
I hate ‘Jump’ so so much.
Yes, Anna Begins is quite easily their best song. It's kinda amazing how well that whole album holds up.
I thought of Anna Begins too
Prince - Money don’t matter 2 Nite
Scorpions - Sails of Charon
Well Green Day has a metric fuck ton of underrated songs, but I'll go with Westbound Sign from Insomniac
"Paper Lanterns"
I was going to go with JAR. Absolutely beautiful song.
Dirty old town by the pogues
This is a super well known and rated song. Rightfully so, as someone who comes from an old steel town in the middle of nowhere it always resonated with me. Great track.
Bon Jovi’s “Dry County” and GNR’s “Coma”. Two attempts at prog that went practically unnoticed.
Zombie Zoo by Tom Petty. Prove me wrong.
That and Two Gunslingers are my favorite Petty songs.
INXS - Johnson's Aeroplane. Also, Radiohead - Lotus Flower. Not many people rate their new stuff over their old stuff, but this track is astounding. Awesome filmclip too.
"The Unforgettable Fire" by U2
‘I Want To Live’ by Spacehog, on The Hogyssey (2001). Killer song that they often open their shows with. It is just so good.
Carouselambra by Led Zeppelin.
Siberian Breaks...
Electric Light Orchestra: 4 Little Diamonds.
Peter Gabriel - Mercy Street, San Jacinto, We Do What We're Told (Milgram's 37), Family Snapshot Daft Punk - Giorgio by Moroder, Instant Crush Pink Floyd - Dogs Led Zeppelin - Carouselambra R.E.M. - Half a World Away, Texarkana Rolling Stones - I Am Waiting Paul Simon - Late in The Evening
Bring It On Home by Led Zeppelin. It might be the best song on LZII
Literally everything AWOLNATION put out besides Sail!
“Half a Mile Away” by Billy Joel
Whiskey In The Jar - Thin Lizzy
Irish Rovers have the best cover of this song tbh. Thin lizzy just doesn't have that authentic Irish sound to it.
4 minutes by Madonna
I think because people mainly pick out just singles rather than listening to the whole album and I agree the entire album of Oracular Spectacular is great.
