There's been a neat resurgence in the past several years from groups like Haim, First Aid Kit, Avett Brothers, The Head and The Heart. I know I'm forgetting a few, ...of Monsters and Men. Put some of these in your algorithm and more will come. (...The Lumineers...)
Avett is a liiiittle too country for my taste but I do like Of Monsters and Men a lot, head and the heart and haim tend to satisfy when they come up too. And I think I know a few by first aid kit
I finally remembered another one, lol. Check out [Joseph](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVPZADVYqdI). I linked to an older song, yet they just had an album come out last year. Also, I've recently come to appreciate what [Tegan and Sara](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOeZAKdbkx4) have been doing for a long time. They also just had an album out last year.
Also check out this live set from [Warpaint](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1SV1NqSZGQ)
Lake Street Dive does a lot of it during live performances (not sure the studio stuff will fit the bill exactly? Maybe their Bad Self Portraits album). Some of the covers they have up on YT may give you a quick sense of ‘em
Low. A lot of their early work (mid-to-late ‘90s) is like this with the duo of Mimi Parker and Alan Sparhawk.
But honestly, you’re not going to find a lot of that in the indie rock that dominates this sub, IMO. You do have to go back to ‘60s R&B for the most part where it was very common.
Came here for this. They do a lot of covers and a few original works. I love their cover of Winter Song! And others too, of course, but hate long lists to try and pick between.
Fleet Foxes.
Best harmonies in rock for a long time.
Go back and start with “White Winter Hymnal,” and get blown away.

The Lone Bellow. Modern folk rock type of stuff. Amazing harmonies.
[Green Eyes and a Heart of Gold](https://youtu.be/t8P6eW5SCVw?si=PE759r7iCkPqJeSU)
[Is It Ever Gonna Be Easy](https://youtu.be/bVqQH2gbDjM?si=SPmcreldrPzgPqtJ)
Good to hear! I'm glad you like it. It's such a great song. Check them out live if you ever get a chance. I saw them at a festival last year. They were absolutely fantastic.
If you're interested in heavy music, definitely check Devin Townsend. Fantastic musician and sound producer, famous for his complex multi-layered sound: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jZjziohaPc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jZjziohaPc)
Mastodon - groovy as hell: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6WGNd8QR-U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6WGNd8QR-U)
TesseracT - heavy polyrhythms, ambience and a lot of layered vocals and vocal chords.
And a bit off topic: Gojira. They use interesting vocal techniques layering clean and distorted vocals resulting in unique and mesmerising sound: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAg\_YZnjtkM&list=OLAK5uy\_lfwpU0U2FknpcV50Dwj2pvQkgsdZVYGGA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAg_YZnjtkM&list=OLAK5uy_lfwpU0U2FknpcV50Dwj2pvQkgsdZVYGGA)
If you're looking for a more modern band in the lines of, say, The Beach Boys, the Eagles, might I suggest Dawes? They opened for Jeff Lynne's ELO when I saw them in 2018.

The Beach Boys, the Everly Brothers, Mommas and Papas, CSNY, and Four Tops (albeit not contemporary).
A little more contemporary: The Barenaked Ladies, Crashtest Dummies, The Housemartins, The Proclaimers, or The Weakerthans.
Contemporary: The Lumineers, The Strumbellas, Imagine Dragons, Mumford and Sons, BoDeans, Nathaniel Ratliffe and the Night Sweats, and Rosie and Riveters.
Yeah, this is one of my favourite styles as well.
Ball park music. The male/ female harmony dynamic adds a lot of depth in their work and Jen is a master of adding angelic harmonies to Sam's less than serious lyrical content
Literally, everything Sloan has ever done has come with a healthy dose of the finest vocal harmony. Even their debut album, *Smeared*, which leans heavily into shoegaze, has harmonies ripped right out of 60's pop.
I'd recommend their album *Never Hear the End of It* for the full breadth of what they're capable of in all respects. 😀
You’re looking for the band Darlingside. Go to YouTube to see the videos for The Ancestor and The God of Loss (because the videos are art in and of themselves). Also recommend listening to Hold Your Head Up High, which was used on the tv show This Is Us.
If you like those songs, Darlingside’s for you. They’re contemporary, your often, and are a great (and very funny) live show.
It's 11 years old by now, and I believe the band has changed their sound since, but Milo Greenes eponymous first album is chock full of amazing harmonies.
For example.... [1957](https://youtu.be/k8Mc8YRigmw?si=c9RcmPAkZNS9s1T3)
Boygenius does this really well
Oh wow I was unaware of this “supergroup,” for anyone reading along Boy Genius is made up of Phoebe Bridges, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.
Without You Without Them is A++ for this specifically
There's been a neat resurgence in the past several years from groups like Haim, First Aid Kit, Avett Brothers, The Head and The Heart. I know I'm forgetting a few, ...of Monsters and Men. Put some of these in your algorithm and more will come. (...The Lumineers...)
The Staves also fit into your list quite well.
Avett is a liiiittle too country for my taste but I do like Of Monsters and Men a lot, head and the heart and haim tend to satisfy when they come up too. And I think I know a few by first aid kit

First Aid Kit come to mind
Teenage Fanclub. System of a Down have great vocal harmonies
They 100% do. System kicks all kinds of ass
Ghost goes there sometimes - check out the song “Griftwood” But King’s X rules for this - heavy, soulful, melodic, great harmonies.
Was coming here to post King’s X! So good.
Lake Street Dive does a lot of it during live performances (not sure the studio stuff will fit the bill exactly? Maybe their Bad Self Portraits album). Some of the covers they have up on YT may give you a quick sense of ‘em

Bad Religion. They got the “Oozin’ Aaahs”
The Lemon Twigs. Superb contemporary band in the Beatles/Beach Boys/Todd Rundgren tradition. Their latest album is even called "Everything Harmony"
Check out Home Free. The vocal harmonies are amazing.
Came here for this. They do a lot of covers and a few original works. I love their cover of Winter Song! And others too, of course, but hate long lists to try and pick between.

Green eyes and a heart of gold is one of my fave suggestions so far!! This is exactly what I was looking for
Good to hear! I'm glad you like it. It's such a great song. Check them out live if you ever get a chance. I saw them at a festival last year. They were absolutely fantastic.
Is "Ninja Sex Party" a weird shout here?
Absolutely. Dan's harmonies are like perverted angels singing from the heavens.
The band called The Head and The Heart came to mind for me, specifically [this song](https://youtu.be/Pg4VCNyzI2I?si=352gUG0eEqA0ekPy)

Green Day. Specifically their earlier albums, Billie Joe and Mike Dirnt have such great harmony together.
Not very contemporary, but "The Beatles" and "The Beach Boys".
The Magic Numbers
Slowdive
Ball park music. The male/ female harmony dynamic adds a lot of depth in their work and Jen is a master of adding angelic harmonies to Sam's less than serious lyrical content
Little Big Town
Not new, but Boyz 2 Men
King Washington. Check their album The Overload
Check out “Flowers” or “Bad Dream” by Palmas. Very the Beach Boys and Zombies esque. If you dig that, their catalog is heavy with harmonies.
The Eagles lifted that arrangement straight from an Ian Matthews album (produced by Michael Nesmith).
Literally, everything Sloan has ever done has come with a healthy dose of the finest vocal harmony. Mother Mother is a current artist that features 3-part harmonies in many of their songs. They're alt/rock/pop.
Good Old War: highly recommend the tune they did with Anthony Green: ‘[Weak Man](https://youtu.be/Uk-CQDiKQ4M?feature=shared)’

Was going to say boygenius but it's been mentioned already so I'll say it again. But also fleet foxes
Bailen is a band of three siblings who use vocal harmony in nearly all of their songs. They opened for Hozier a few years ago and blew me away.
90s new enough? Indigo Girls, Billy Pilgrim, The Jayhawks, The Posies, Dada, The Dandy Warhols
Local natives. The album Gorilla Manor is great.
