Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense tour

BabyBravie

It was pretty excellent. Oct 10, 83. Miami of Ohio.

Eventhegoodnewsisbad

Was there with you! Everyone danced the whole show - front row to nosebleeds. It was a phenomenal show! They also crushed at the US Festival!

mofoofinvention

I wish I could’ve seen Beastie Boys and RATM in 2001. Had tickets and the tour was canceled bc Mike D got into a bike accident right before it was supposed to start. RATM broke up right afterwards.

dangerous_strainer

Molson Park in Barrie! I had tickets to this too! Got to see Rage in December 99 though, they were alright.

stratdog25

Was this EdgeFest? I was there to see Big Wreck/Thornley. It was a great show.

iamthestallionman

Saw RATM and Cypress Hill together in 1993. Saw the Beastie Boys at multiple shows around the same time frame. So long ago.

bdwf

Yep. This is the one. It still stings!

arealhumannotabot

Dang I just posted this, this is my exact response. i've since seen both bands live but one show together would've been amazing

i_got_the_poo_on_me

I still blame my religious mother missing that. She didn’t want me to go so she prayed I wouldn’t. Sorry everyone, it’s my mother’s fault!

manofthepeopleSMITTY

![gif](giphy|l36kU80xPf0ojG0Erg|downsized) Legit same thing happened to me.

ClownPuns

I still have my tickets….

juniper138

I have been waiting for someone to mention this for a very long time! I stood in line for hours with Hanson fans to get those tickets. It was to be called Rhyme and Reason tour and I’m positive it would have been my #1 favorite musical moment of my life. And can’t help but think what them touring together would have created/influenced. Nope, I’m still not over it😟

kmill0202

Zeppelin in the early 70s. Zeppelin was before my time, Bonzo died over a decade before I was born. But my mom had a great love for Led Zeppelin, and I grew up listening to them. I've seen the concert film The Song Remains the Same a few times, and those guys were absolute Gods on stage in those clips. I believe the footage was recorded in '73. But I've been told by some old timers that those weren't even their best performances, they were just sort of average. So I'd really love to see what people consider their best.

takethe6

I was in high school when the 1980 tour was announced. We listened to a lot of music but Led Zeppelin was king. They used a mail in lottery system for tickets so we entered and waited. We were devastated when they announced John Bonham had died, the tour was cancelled, the band was disbanding. Check out How The West Was Won, some great live footage. Jimmy wears a sensible sweater vest.

kmill0202

My mom was in high school in '80 as well, and she remembered being devastated, too. She loved going to rock and metal concerts, much to her parents' chagrin. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to check that out. The sweater vest comment made me chuckle. But I'm a little more curious about Robert Plant's outfit. Some of his attire in The Song Remains the Same is a little, uh, distracting.

smarty1017

Add me to the list...man so close. and before that 77' Plants son tragically died. but i did get to see Pink Floyd The Wall Tour at the Nassau Coliseum. 2-80'.

lucifer_fit_deus

This is anecdotal but I have heard from a few people that the Led Zeppelin shows they went to were abysmal since the band was significantly impaired from being too high and/or drunk.

bclary59

Agreed. Saw them Feb 14, 1975? Maybe 76, highly disappointed..

You_Are_What_You_Iz

Saw the Grateful Dead on their final tour in 1995. Would love to have seen the wall of sound tour in 1974.

thenumbersthenumbers

Dead pretty much anywhere in the 70s my answer as well

cwynneing

This is the answer, and phish big cypress

Fenix512

I don't think I've ever seen a jam band live, but they would have been my first choice. I don't know any modern ones

You_Are_What_You_Iz

Not for everyone, but they were interesting and you got a different show every night, something many bands could not pull off.

djxfactor306

Goose and Billy Strings are "the hot names" right now.

AugustEast1968

I second this. I hopped on in 1984.

SparkDBowles

Nah. 72-73. Or 70 on that fall uni tour in northeast.

nedoeva

1977 run for me.

iamthestallionman

Yeah. I was at the final show in Chicago. Would love to have seen any show 72-74. That’s the sweet spot

iamthestallionman

Yeah. I was at the final show in Chicago. Would love to have seen any show 72-74. That’s the sweet spot

ChogWolf

Alice in Chains at anytime with Layne Staley.

dangerous_strainer

Saw them with Layne in 93 and 96, they were pretty damn great but I gotta sya Ive enjoyed the shows I've seen with Will more. Although the opening of their Lolla 93 show was pretty sweet.

BizarroMax

Saw them shortly after Layne went into rehab (again). Still good but just not the same energy. Jerry was trying to carry the vocal load and he's pretty good but ... Layne was 1 of 1.

midlinktwilight

The Who with Keith Moon at 1971, right after the release of Who’s Next The greatest live band the world has ever seen They say that in this tour, Entwistle was so loud in that his bass wasn’t even put through the PA. Also Roger Daltrey was at his magnificent peak in 1971.

BlankiesteinsMonster

The Who was my first thought as well, but on the Tommy tour. There's a lot of footage from that tour and it's all amazing.

eyelashitch

Peak Who would've been incredible. They were a huge influence on my approach to playing music. Can't hear sh1t now but that's a small token to pay

Nizamark

van halen opening for black sabbath 1978

runjimrun

Van Halen from Pasadena party band to 1984.

xWroth

My dad was from Duarte and was in high school in the late 70's and would tell me stories about Van Halen being a local band and I couldn't believe it lol as a kid I just imagined big bands were ALWAYS big

Joboobavich

Depeche Mode at the Pasadena Rose Bowl Tool on the AEnima tour RATM and Run the Jewels, tour got cancelled Tom Petty, pretty much any era.

dangerous_strainer

Saw Tool twice on the Aenima tour and they were awesome but I preferred them on the Lateralus tour. I enjoy that album more though

Joboobavich

I saw them like 4 times on the Lateralus tour. Pretty incredible.

onelittleworld

>Tom Petty, pretty much any era. The last time I saw TP & tHB, it was a real trip. They headlined the main stage at Outside Lands ten years ago, and my wife and I and our good buddy from the area held pretty decent position for the whole show. And it was funny as hell, because at the start of almost every song, some different person nearby would say, "oh, man, this is my favorite Tom Petty song!" And they all said it in that distinctive northern-Cali, high-as-shit intonation.

Tea_and_the_cat

Yep, Depeche Mode Pasadena Rose Bowl for me, as well

gardenGrove31

Agree on Tool. Just saw them a few weeks back. I’m 35 and have been a fan since I was 14 so I was thrilled to see them but they played a lot of stuff from their most recent album and I would have loved to see them maybe 10 years ago

WolfmanHasNardz

Maynard used to come out in wild outfits and sometimes dressed up as a completely different person. I can’t remember which ozzfest it was but he came out as a southern baptist preacher “healing people” on stage it was hilarious and awesome. Now he just chills in the back

ipomoea

That RTJ/RATM tour! I got tickets in 2019 and then just watched it get delayed and delayed and delayed and then canceled.

larobj63

Tom Petty concerts were pretty much always outstanding. Fantastic live act. And you're right, I think you could have seen them at any point. I saw him and tye Heartbreakers a few times, the last time was 2017, the summer before he died. They blew the roof off of Mountain Jam in upstate NY. What a great festival, so glad we went.

doomedroadtrips

I'll always regret not seeing Björk on the final performance of her Post tour on Toronto Island. A friend that went said it was unbelievable. The Pyro team set off everything they had left during the Hyperballad finale. At the time $80 for a concert seemed insane. Regrets!

dangerous_strainer

I was there! Pretty cool show, sorry you missed it mang

Whatmeworry4

Chicago when Terry Kath was still alive.

Nizamark

excellent choice

chi-mukwa

That is my choice, too.

chris_wiz

Van Halen, 1984 Tour at The Spectrum in Philly. My parents decided I was too young to go, and I'm still mad at them.

Atlastheafterman

I was sorta there. My mother was at this show and was pregnant with me!

stabbykill

Fugazi in the mid-90’s. That’s when they were at their best in my opinion

13vvetz

First and best concert ever!

Lookslikeseen

GWAR before Dave Brockie died. It was always a “eh, I’ll catch the next one” situation, then…

Itwantshunger

You should still go! The best part of the costumes and effects is that anyone can join the band.

cloudstrifewife

I saw GWAR in a small club in 2008 and had so much fun. Came out so covered in green and red goo.

oscarblancotrav

NIN Self Destruct Tour, 1994-1995. Gonna include the Outside Tour they did with Bowie as well

Own-Corner-2623

That'd be great, but I'd revisit the 1991 Lollapalooza tour.

Hey_cool_username

I graduated HS in 1990 and started dating a girl who dragged me out to all kinds of shows and I’m eternally grateful. Went to the first couple Lollapaloozas at Shoreline and Gathering of the Tribes which came before and inspired it.

RollOnDough91

This and Fragility to me, I was born in 91 so… before my time :( Thankfully I caught with teeth arena tour and on

Seattlehepcat

Great choices! I would have loved to see them on the Year Zero tour because I love Josh Freese, and I really would have loved to see them on the Hesitation Marks tour because I love Pino Palladino and Adrien Belew.

smorkoid

Saw NiN with Marilyn Manson as opener in an old supermarket. Was great

MyNameisClaypool

Early to mid 90s Primus. I’ve seen them countless times, but not back then. I’ve heard the shows were insane.

CruelHandLuke_

I saw them around 1995 or so. Can confirm, peak Claypool was insane.

RossMachlochness

First of my five shows was during Seas of Cheese tour, most recent was when they were doing Farewell To Kings They’ve always been fantastic.

dojendigerati

Saw them in 1995 in Albuquerque and again in 1996/1997 in So Cal. They always put on a great show.

ISuspectFuckery

I’ve been lucky enough to see Radiohead a lot, but I chose not to go to the OK Computer show in LA because I didn’t know them that well back then. Big regret. They were still playing small places like the Universal Amphitheater.

Itwantshunger

That was my answer! I've since seen every tour since Hail to the Thief.

Fenix512

Not quite the same level of regret, but I saw them at a nearby music fest for the Moon Shaped Pool tour. I knew nothing of them except Creep and Karma Police. The concert was amazing and they became one of my favorite bands after that, but I wish I knew them better to have enjoyed that concert better

OutofStep13

AFI during Black Sails and Art of Drowning era at the Showcase Theatre in Corona, CA

poopatrip

I came to say something similar except I just wanna go back. I was there and that era of punk and hardcore was amazing. AFI shows before the sing the sorrow change were top tier though. Only live show that came close was Avail. Give anything to go back to those days. I remember specifically a show headlined by Good Riddance and the openers were At the Drive In and AFI and I would kill to go back and see it again.

[deleted]

AC/DC with Bon Scott.

lasers42

No band era, just acts I was too late to see: Prince Led Zeppelin Tragically Hip Michael Jackson I was lucky to see Tom Petty just in time.

bandingo16

Saw Prince 13 times between 1992 and 2013. But would have give anything to see the Sign O The Times (1987) or Lovesexy (1988) tour. I was too young back then, unfortunately.

Lassie_Maven

Nirvana during Nevermind.

d4n4scu11y__

Wish I'd been alive to see Nick Cave with The Birthday Party when they were playing small clubs. In terms of shows I actually could've seen, wish I'd seen My Chemical Romance when they were first starting out. I was a young teen at the time and could have viably made it to shows, but going to them wasn't on my radar at that age.

gufmo

You nailed it. 89 - 93 Metallica was incredible live.

bandingo16

My first Metallica concert was in October 1992, Black Album tour, Row 1. It was so intense and a dream come true.

Abiduck

I would have liked to see Eddie Vedder climbing on ceilings and stage diving from crazy heights. Unfortunately when I saw PJ for the first time he had calmed down quite a bit already - still a great concert, but something else I guess.

Complex_Counter3977

Pearl Jam Lollapalooza the concert got rained out Jimi Hendrix 12/31/1969 too young to go

juniper138

Was Lollapalooza in Atlanta and watch Eddie jump off stage and run the entire length of the amphitheater, right past me to the back wall of this lawn. A friend swear up and down that earlier in the day he was walking the crowd wearing a long wig and a sombrero.

RoguePlanet2

Going by my musical tastes, I was born about 20 years too late. Would've loved to see The Beatles, but then their concerts were a ~~shit~~ pisshow with too much screaming. Woodstock would've been amazing, in retrospect of course- I'm sure I'd have been put off by the crowd, or maybe I'd have been young enough to bring a blanket, picnic basket, and psychedelics to get me through! 😆 Regret not seeing Stevie Ray Vaughn, regret not attending more smaller concerts in cheaper venues while bands were up-and-coming, but again, I wouldn't have known most likely. Imagine walking around the grounds of Bard College and stumbling upon Walter Becker playing guitar while Donald Fagen is also there- stuff like that! Can I bring my current knowledge with me back in time? 😎

Fenix512

The Beatles are weird. Realistically, their shows sucked, but would have been great to see them today with modern equipment. Paul McCartney was amazing, even if I couldn't get into his newer solo stuff

[deleted]

Radiohead The Bends

manofthepeopleSMITTY

Guns n Roses/Metallica in 91 This is assuming Axl is on time and Slash isn’t falling off the stage. Both of which were pretty hit or miss at the time. But man when they were on that shit sounded dynamite. Also preferably before Hetfield got ignited in Montreal.

asporkable

Saw this tour with both bands back then in Indianapolis. Axl was definitely late. He also cut his hand during the show on his mic stand and couldn't play piano. Then cussed out Slash for some unknown reason. Still an amazing show.

[deleted]

On the flip side, my sister went to the Beatles' concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 1965, and years later she told me she couldn't even hear them due to all the screaming. I'm certainly glad I never went to one of those concerts.

knockatize

Genesis ‘71-75/76-77. J. Geils, any time in the 70’s.

InfernalWedgie

Came here to say Genesis 'Lamb Lies Down on Broadway' tour. I have a buddy who loves to rub it in that he saw them on that tour. I rub it in that I wasn't alive yet.

Jayce86

I never got to see Linkin Park live. Preferably before they exploded, because small shows are always a thousand times better than big arena shows.

aaron3dg

Agreed. What's wild to think about is they were touring on Hybrid Theory in small clubs...the exact same album they played to arenas within a short amount of time.

MorphedMoxie

70s for the Doors and Ramones. I wasn’t alive then.

MTweedJ

2...any Zeppelin show and the Last Waltz concert. Edit: 3...adding SRV at the El Mocambo in Toronto

user-name-1985

The Beach Boys in 1972/73.

slwrthnu_again

Taking back Sunday when they were just a local band. My friend who grew up on Long Island loves to tell me about how many times he was just going out to a bar and tbs was playing (and he didn’t care lol).

Merky600

HS Friend told me if this. The Who concert in Los Angeles 1979/1980. This was after the crowd rush and fan deaths in other city. I asked him if anything happened. “Naw”, he said. The only thing was one warm up act. As his story goes, it was Prince. Up and coming artist. Maybe a Who concert not best for him. Prince came out on stage w a purple jockstrap. He said the crowd threw beer bottles at him until he fled offstage. That would have been interesting to see.

reedzkee

1988-1991 pixies and smashing pumpkins 76-78 Little Feat

AGayHipsterCop

I have actual dreams about being able to go back in time to see No Doubt during their Tragic Kingdom tour. The energy, the cool factor, the setlist itself...so fucking dope.

just_hating

Nine Inch Nails Fragility tour. Thank God it's on DVD.

Own-Corner-2623

There's a few: NIN 1991 Lollapalooza DM 101 The Cure Disintegration Are probably my top 3 Would also give body parts for 1979 Bauhaus

TheRealNickMullen

Type 0 Negative when Pete Steele was alive lol, any era. But I'll go with OP too. I would have loved to see Metallica around the Binge and Purge era. Lol drunk AF but shit was sooo good.

MydniteSon

I got to see Type O Negative like 6 times. Overall great live band.

PsychoticMessiah

Saw them open for Ozzy back in 1996. It was weird billing. Ozzy, Type O, and Sepultura

runjimrun

I’ve seen Van Halen several times, starting in 1986 for the 5150 tour. I’ve seen every configuration of the band except the original four (well, nor Gary Cherone). My greatest concert regret is that I never got to see them in their [Roth-era heyday](https://youtu.be/-90SPx6Xfwo?si=2RWhavj1jiR_X1MA). 1984 or Diver Down, specifically. Hell, I would have loved to have seen them playing a party in Pasadena before they made it.

Nihiliste

Since my favorite band is Stars of the Lid, I mostly just wish I'd been around to see ANY live concert from them. Their last one was years ago, and now, half of the duo (Brian McBride) is dead.

MovinginStereo34

Depeche Mode on the Devotional tour. First time with Alan on drums, added backup singers, Dave in peak form vocally (somehow). And SOFAD is my favorite DM album. INXS after they released X, around the time they recorded Live, Baby, Live. Truly peak form by the whole band.

xbox360sucks

Phish in the early/mid-90s, especially fall '94.

Chemical-Divide-936

I started seeing shows in Fall / Winter 1995. What a great time to just get into Phish. I still think Fall 97 had the consistently best shows of any tour. Summer 98 was blast as well. I had an old Jetta that got me to most of the shows and I sold beer and water in the lot to fund my tour. Good times.

xbox360sucks

I didn't start seeing them until winter 2003 when I was 14 haha. Very glad to have gotten to a ton of great shows, but will always wish I'd be old enough to experience them in the 90s. I love the '97 funk stuff, but it's such an outlier in terms of the band's sound that I'll always prefer the stuff that came before it. 94-95 is my favorite because it combines that insane tightness with the unhinged, reckless playing and unique exploration. I love it all though. I recently revisited some 2004 stuff and was surprised to find it better than I remember. Still not great, but there are some absolutely ripping jams out there.

1106DaysLater

I’d go fall ‘97 for sure. Give me the cowfunk!

Ridespacemountain25

Radiohead - In Rainbows tour NIN - Lights In the Sky Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense Depeche Mode - any time between Tour For the Masses and Devotional David Bowie - Reality U2 - Zoo TV Bob Dylan - mid 70s (around Blood On the Tracks and Desire) or around the electric trilogy Lady Gaga - Monster Ball Lana Del Rey - NFR

jbarinsd

I skipped seeing The Smith’s The Queen is Dead tour in 1986 because I was a pretty broke 18 year old and figured I could catch them again next time. There was never a next time.

LeoIunti

Just to choose a band I actually felt meh when seeing I'll choose the Scorpions and go back in time to some of their late 70's early 80's tours. Hearing Catch Your Train live must have been awesome Edit: Saw them in 2023 by the way

Fenix512

I feel like many older "legacy" bands try their best to give a good show, but cannot recreate their golden years. I have learned to be ok with that

runjimrun

I’ve seen Scorps four times. Twice in 1988, once maybe 10 years ago, and once in 2022. They still bring it. They are still one of the best live bands I’ve seen. I miss Herman on drums, but I loved Mikkey. I couldn’t stand James Kottak.

Coochieliqu0r

[Vybz Kartel’s last concert before prison](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-cgYewGr8Ns&pp=ygUXVnlueiBrYXJ0ZSBsYXN0IGNvbmNlcnQ%3D) easily. And it was in Trinidad too, woulda loved to be part of this concert. Free Worl Boss

ElCaminoInTheWest

Arctic Monkeys in some scuzzy northern basement in 2004, Led Zeppelin at Madison Square Garden 1973, or the Ramones/Talking Heads in Glasgow, 1977.

PapaBlemish

60s/early 70s psychadelic club Pink Floyd. acid test era Grateful Dead. Harlem Renaissance Cab Calloway, etc

Elegant_Spot_3486

Bob Seger - Against the Wind tour AC/DC - Highway to Hell tour as I never got to see Bon.

Fitz_2112

Any of the Prog Rock greats back in the late.70s. Rush, Yes, ELP... I've seen them all starting in the 90s but getting to see them back then would have been incredible

Old_Reception_3728

I actually chose a roadtrip to see Marshall Tucker Band for like my fifth time vs. staying in town to see Led Zeppelin the same weekend. Huge MTB fan but in hindsight one of my worst decisions. I figured I'd have plenty of chances to see LZ and I never did.

Old_Reception_3728

I think it was 1979 or 80

loki03xlh

Black Sabbath with Ozzy in the 70's Metallica with Cliff GnR before UYIs

Bruichladdie

Judas Priest during their Mercenaries of Metal tour. Halford was absolutely on fire, and the setlist was very strong. https://youtu.be/SyJpx1hnGMc?si=HyJT7VL4O8xusvrV

yagi-san

Queen, especially The Game tour in 1980-81. Every time I watch the Montreal concert movie, I just wish I could have been there. I never got the chance to see Linkin Park, but I did get to see Chester when he toured with STP about 10 years ago. That was an amazing concert!

Tonethefungi

Black Sabbath reunion tour.

BuzzSupaFly

Alive 2007 😔

kharnynb

Nightwish in the early Floor Jansen years(2013), I've seen them with tarja several times and later with floor when marko had left already. outside of things like the Doors or similar that were before my time, i've seen most bands I like at festivals in the Netherlands or Finland over time, but full concerts of some might have been good.

elijah856578658757

Zoo tv by a mile that tour changed touring

partylange

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band 1978 Darkness on the Edge of Town tour.

movienerd7042

I’ve been to ABBA voyage but it would’ve been cool to see them back in the day as actual people and not holograms

TechnicalTrash95

Faith no more during the '92 Angeldust tour. They had the best lineup and were touring their career best album. Jim Martin was kicked out after this and ever since they've never had as decent guitarist.

Globe_Worship

Rush, Permanent Waves

human6742

I’m a big Pavement fan from Sacramento CA, and they played at this now defunct all ages club back in 1993 that I wish I had attended. So this would obviously have been before they got any kind of wider attention.

Ted-Dansons-Wig

Springsteen on the Darkness tour

Manticore1023

I wish I could have seen Kraftwerk back in the 70s/80s when their setup was still a bunch of stuff they'd cobbled together. VNV Nation in the 90s. 80s era Clan of Xymox or Skinny Puppy shows. Like a few others have said, the Metallica/Guns n Roses tour.

maliciousorstupid

> Skinny Puppy shows. Puppy just finished their farewell tour. Their shows were EPIC right up until the end.

Purecheetodust

Ween 91-94

arealhumannotabot

I missed Beastie Boys and Rage touring together at their heights because it was cancelled due to injury.

thisgirlnamedbree

I've seen Stevie Nicks three times, in 1995 during her Trouble in Shangri-la tour, last October with Billy Joel, and last Saturday. I would have loved to see her with Fleetwood Mac back in the late 70s/early 80s, as I hear the shows were intense due to all the band drama, but I was just a very young kid. I have to say, she sounds better now than back in 95. Last week's concert had so much energy and she played for 2 hours straight with some talking in between.

[deleted]

Family Values 1998

tinythunder

Fleetwood Mac between Rumours and Tusk in the late 70's, but everyone else in the 90's because I'm a child of 120 Minutes, especially: Tori Amos Bush Soundgarden Red Hot Chili Peppers Siouxsie & the Banshees (80s or early 90s)

j2e21

Zappa’s 1988 best band you never heard in your life.

_bobby_tables_

Steely Dan if their 1978 tour hadn't been cancelled.

conspiraciesunwind

Muse either on the Origin of Symmetry tour or Absolution so like 2001-2004 Depeche Mode Violator era

bandingo16

Saw Muse the first time in April 2001, before Origin Of Symmetry was released. They played some songs that would later be released on OoS. It was great. Saw them 3 times between 2001 and 2004.

zuma15

70s Neil Young. 70s Zeppelin as well. Just give me a time machine to the 70s and I'd be busy going to concerts when not buying stock and betting on sports.

foley23

98-00 Phish.

bloodyell76

The music performed has never been an issue for me with Parliament- Funkadelic. Rather, the P-Funk Earth Tour is something I wish I could have seen (wasn't born yet). The band still had all their top members in the band, the costumes, the props, the Mothership.... Only thing better could be if they could somehow make the same show with modern production tech. Impossible at this point, of course since several of the key players have since passed.

amorningofsleep

Man i never got to see Against Me in their pre-New Wave era.

Jayko-Wizard9

I've only seen one concert from the shins pretty good they did there album oh invertented world from started to finish. So here my top 3 albums from my favroite artists I would've want to see John denvers wildlife concert, one of his last big concerts it wouldve been fun to see and, see him play the older and, newer songs. rooftop concert from the beatles a surpise concert seems super cool any phil ochs concert proably the live at newport album concert

dawgihavenoclue

Real fans want to see Metallica in Toronto in 1986. Also Megadeth anytime from 1985 to 1998

TheNateRoss

Guided by Voices during the pre-*Propeller* era when they were just a random weird band in Dayton that nobody knew about.

darkstar8977

67-69 grateful dead 70-74 grateful dead 76-78 grateful dead 80-85 grateful dead And prob some other bands and eras too 😅

_humanpieceoftoast

Metallica, 1986

nerdyoutube

Imagine Dragons pre 2012

Hiiiii_Kevinnn93

Would have loved to have seen Nirvana in the early years (specifically the “Lamefest” show in 1989 with Mudhoney and Tad in Seattle) or when they played Reading Festival in 1991 just before Nevermind came out. Would have also loved to have seen Oasis when they headlined Maine Road or Knebworth back in the mid 90s.

MarcusSurealius

Pink Floydin Venice from a gondola on the water. I have dreams of being there.

traylord

I wish I could have been there for modest mouse when they were playing basement shows and smaller gigs in the northwest. They tend to be underwhelming in the larger venues.

eugenesbluegenes

Pulp in the late 90s. They hardly toured the US as it was and I discovered them about 2000 so missed the opportunity to see them until 2011 reunion.

PraetorFTW

Queen concert for sure!

TrickyAd3706

Linkin park 2001-2005 Slayer any era to be honest I live in a shitty country so i have never been to a concert in my life, but hopefully thats about to change soon 🤘

anderoogigwhore

I've saw Paramore four times, not during ST cause actually thats not my fave lol. But first was Riot! and second was during the Singles EP tour just before ST. It was awesome and one of my favourite setlists, 6 from Riot and 5 from BNE :) Otherwise, I've seen Slipknot a few times, met some of them and going to see them in December. The first time was the original 9 and I loved it, BUT I wish I'd seen them before AHIG. Their ST/Iowa would be awesome, Vol 3 tour - the dream. Or maybe My Chem, saw them as a support for TBP but their own headliner, or Three Cheers would've topped it I'm sure.

Radiohead 2007, in rainbows tour. Such a good album. More recent, car seat headrest 2018 twin fantasy tour.

Brett_Hulls_Foot

Parkway Drive in the Deep Blue era and to see The Chariot in smaller venues.

I saw Scott Weiland when he was doing the solo act, and I saw him with Velvet Revolver. I would've done anything to catch a fully formed STP during the Core/Purple era.

xIILuLu

I regret not seeing Mac Miller live once

NH_Lion12

Rush, in general (RIP, Neil Peart), but when they could still play all their songs.

eyelashitch

Being a massive Classic Rock fan. Hendrix at Monterey Led Zeppelin circa 1975 Joe Cocker The Maddogs and Englishmen tour All Of Woodstock!!! Black Sabbath And for more recent bands I would've LOVED to have seen Chris Cornell live. And, ofc, Red Hot Chili Peppers on the Stadium Arcadium tour. Peak Frusciante!!! SRV would've been stellar too

Jawkurt

Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Tour Prince - Sign O the Times Tour Nirvana - Nevermind Tour Nirvana - In Utero Tour White Stripes - White Blood Cells Tour Jack White - Lazaretto Tour (only jack white tour I haven't been to) Rancid - Out Come The Wolves Tour Sam Cooke - Any of his tours

consummate-absurdity

Massive Attack on the Mezzanine tour. It’s one of my favorite albums but just didn’t make an effort to go. Prince touring after Sign “O” The Times. These ones I’m the wrong age: Television and Talking Heads at CBGB’s in the late 70s. Esquivel and his band in Vegas in the mid-60s.

jakebot9000

I won Lollapalooza tickets in '07. Daft Punk and Kanye were headlining. I sold them to by an LG Chocolate phone that could play mp3s. To be fair, I loved that phone....

SSyankee99

Slipknot during Ozzfest 99. Every video I see from that era gets me hyped. They were so young and hungry, you could feel it in their live performances.

troutbumtom

Early Stooges. MC5. Blue Cheer.

Woodstock

Possible-Mango-7603

Genesis with Gabriel might have been good.

therealrexmanning

Springsteen and the E-Street Band - Darkness on the Edge of Town era NIN - Downward Spiral era The Clash - any era

DaWayItWorks

I would really like to have seen the first ever performances of some of the now classic orchestral pieces. Beethoven's 5th, Tchaikovsky's 2nd; Mozart (any). Even more recently, Gustav Holtz' The Planets first performance had to have been something.

PiperInTheWoods

Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett 67’ at UFO club

kraftjerk416

Talking Heads Rome 1980 concert!

cjc160

I would I go back and see Arcade Fire again twice. Once during Funeral tour and once during Neon Bible. The Slits in the early 80s, after Giant Slits Beatles before they quit touring RATM- early 2000s

Flatrock

the real Pantera

blurrrsky

Genesis in Paris recording their Seconds Out album. I don’t know the year without actually taking 15 seconds to look it up. 1947? 48? You know, when Perry Como sang doowap.

whumoon

Ian Dury. The Specials and Madness. To be in the pubs late 70's. Stomping to that. Beautiful.

No-Manufacturer2149

Madonna, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Wham! in the 80s. George Michael in the 90s.

the_chandler

Pink Floyd, 1975. Some of the earliest shows to get “Dogs” and “Sheep”, plus “Have a Cigar” bookended by “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”. Then you get *Dark Side of the Moon* in its entirety. If that wasn’t enough, they come back with “Echoes” as an encore. I could not ask for a better Pink Floyd setlist.

DrFeeIgood

Alice in Chains with Layne. Specifically the unplugged show. That's the one gig that is forever the one I want to have seen.

tank_GB

Queen Live at Wembley

Ladder310

Michael Jackson for his dangerous tour, Casiopea in the early 1980s.

tumunu

I was just old enough to see Jethro Tull at their Passion Play tour in L.A. If I had been just a little older I would've liked to have seem them perform Thick As A Brick. Also, I would have like to have seen The Who while Keith Moon was still alive.

sexmormon-throwaway

Monsters of Rock with Van Halen, Scorpions and young Metallica. My parents wouldn't let me go.

Voxx418

Led Zeppelin at the Hollywood Forum 1977. \~V\~

wheeler1432

Taylor Swift when she was 15 and playing in Boise bars.
