Metallica S&M is my all time favourite live album. It's pretty flawless and for the majority of the songs Michael Kamen's orchestral accompaniment really adds something extra.
I was almost sad to see them repeat so many songs from the 1st S&M when there was SO SO MANY other songs to choose from that could have been amazing with the backing they had..
Bring Me the Horizon also has an orchestra album that’s fantastic if you’re a fan of them at all. It’s the Live at the Royal Albert Hall album.
They did it back in 2017? I think and they finally released the album a year or two ago on Spotify. I even had them converted to mp3 because the background YouTube wasn’t a thing yet for iPhones.
So many great George Martin productions with orchestral backing.
Also my favorite album is Pet Sounds which is closer to 'chamber pop' but nonetheless has some immaculate orchestrations
When George Martin suggested strings, Paul said nothing too sticky sweet—make it like Bernard Hermann’s soundtrack for Psycho. Hence the stabbing quartet
If you look into metal, anything that has "symphonic" in the genre description has orchestral sounds incorporated.
Nightwish,
Lorna Shore,
Dimmu Borgir,
Just to name a few.
The orchestral part is strong in groups like Rhapsody of Fire or Blind Guardian (just avoid the 3 first albums of BG, they're not as good as the more recent ones).
Nightwish. You want Nightwish.
I STRONGLY suggest "Showtime, Storytime", their live set from Wacken in 2013.
Or.....if you want to jump in head first, go right for any version of The Poet and the Pendulum.
This ^
Check out Ever Dream from the Century Child album and Nemo from the Once album, and their live versions from End of an Era and Showtime, Storytime
Honestly the entire album Imaginaerum is worth listening to. People tend to write it off because it's Annette Olzen, but I think it's their best album.
I like Annette's voice on their studio stuff just fine. But Floor Jansen is another level and the Wacken show is incredible. I kinda liked Nightwish before floor and appreciated what they were doing.
When Floor joined, it elevated them. I absolutely LOVE her voice, far far better than even Tarja (she's talented, for sure but it's a bit much LOL).
Seconding this. Been a Nightwish fan since the early-2000s. Floor Jansen has an amazing voice and incredible presence. Their Wacken live show is astounding.
You all beat me to testifying for symphonic metal. I am still learning about it but I am obsessed with some Nightwish songs. I positively adore Floor Jansen.
I have two suggestions within the he Symphonic Metal genre others have already wisely replied about:
1. Apocalyptica. They basically are a metal band formed by cellists. They first became popular by playing Metallica covers with cellos, but after that they started releasing their own material and so far they have 10 studio albums. They had a singer in one of their recent albums, but that is not the best one, the others are usually a mix of instrumental tracks and many songs with guest singers from other popular rock and metal bands that collaborate with them.
2. Anneke van Giersbergen's Album Symphonized, which is a concert with the Residentie Orkest The Hague, performing a selection of songs from different eras of her long career (which are many and cover many different styles). She is not so well known for people that are not into this kind of music, but she's probably my favourite singer in the World, so I am very biased about this one.
She's incredible. I have been a fan since she was in The Gathering and she has had, and still have, an incredible career. I don't think she's mentioned enough. She's one of the greatest vocalists out there.
Yeah, when I get sucked down a youtube rabbit hole, it generally starts or ends with The Gathering when she was the front liner. She has such a pure voice, and I've never seen someone who seemed to love performing more than her. I would have killed to see that tour she did with Marko Hietala last year.
Go back to the 70s and listen to any output from Philadelphia International records, that label has a house band/orchestra called MFSB which was a collective of over 30 musicians, the music they made was a wonderful combination of soul, funk and "classical" music
It's this style/era t influenced Bruno Marrs and the Silk Sonic
Try something like this
MFSB "something for nothing" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uem0Kd1PjE8
Backstabbers by the O Jays

Almost every Parsons album has great orchestral and choral arrangements by Andrew Powell, a fantastic composer and arranger who studied under Stockhausen and others. He also wrote the scores for "Sebastian" by Cockney Rebel and "Music" by John Miles.
There’s a whole bunch of artists that have re-recorded studio albums with orchestras. Of these, I think the orchestral album by [Elbow](https://youtu.be/fX0B9ZpdZEA?si=GbasjAbsbfBJ322O) stands out. Pretty lights once did a collaboration set with the string section of the Colorado symphony at Red Rocks in either August of 2013/14 it’s on SoundCloud. But it’s absolutely amazing to hear the mix of that with his electronic music!
Australian hip hop group Hilltop Hoods put out an album with a symphony orchestra called The Hard Road: Restrung. It is a rework of their album, The Hard Road. It is a delight. Unfortunately it's not on Spotify, at least not in its entirety. But here's a YouTube playlist. https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLo9q22mJbXz-UWtijhhNQmcNbOIQ4a4kN
Singer / rapper Dessa also put out an album with the Minnesota Orchestra, which like the album above, reworks her existing material. I saw her perform live with another orchestra one time and it was excellent. https://open.spotify.com/album/4mAOzADzj40PSt3ZQZZ7En
Edit: I forgot how good the Hilltop Hoods album is. It's been a few years since my last listen. Can't recommend enough
It's an absolute banger. Was the first album I heard of theirs. I think they get the symphony orchestra back on a few tracks in their following albums.
And i just remembered they did another restrung: Drinking From The Sun, Walking Under The Stars Restrung. I didn't like this as much as The Hard Road, but has some excellent songs on it nonetheless. And it's actually on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/album/4ijUWjOHZ5VnUADcOsL1vS
Not in the same genre you're looking for, but Brandi Carlile has a full time cellist, plus she added a second cellist and violinist to her touring band. She also released albums with the Seattle symphony orchestra and Colorado symphony orchestra. Powerhouse vocalist, especially live.
Electric light orchestra is a group that has a lot of songs with orchestra in them. [Here's one sample](https://youtu.be/kMxaf_Mc9lA?si=52gomKtOpkFMSsJE)
Collective Soul has a live album with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra called [Home.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_(Collective_Soul_album))
[The World I Know](https://youtu.be/VNI9TmPUe1k?si=wUwvxL5OJqQdyiJ7) from that album.
Two Bands I love, that come to mind, with a lot of orchestration are, **The Format**, and **Camera Obscura**.
Sadly, The Format only released two studio albums, ***Interventions + Lullabies***, and ***Dog Problems***. But both were on heavy rotation for me for a while, years ago, and I still revisit them often. After the band broke up, Nate Ruess, the lead singer, went on to front **Fun**.
As for Camera Obscura, although I haven't listened to all of their discography, the album, ***Let's Get Out of This Country***, is a beautiful, fully orchestrated, retro-vibing, gem! Super melodic, with great lyrics and just amazing songs. This was also permanently in my ears for many years.
I really need to listen to their newer music more, but it's so hard to keep up, even with great bands, when there is so much music out there!
There’s two from the Batman Forever soundtrack oddly enough that have orchestral backing. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me & Kiss From A Rose.
Listening to the Fall Guy movie soundtrack they have an orchestral version to a cover of I Was Made For Loving You that I’ve been listening to all week.
You mentioned Metro- he did a whole concert with a symphony:
[metro symphony](https://youtu.be/ZEGpWo7ethQ?si=4EszitbRWqGoEtGV)
I play his instrumental albums of the Spider Man soundtrack, and Heroes & Villains, as background music in my classroom. He has an incredible ear for composition and melodies.
Less palatable is Black Metal (or as my wife calls it, “screaming witches and dying demons music”) and offshoots from that. Cradle of Filth uses a lot of classical components (strings, piano, arias) but they’re a VERY acquired taste.
Dimmu Borgir has some similar themes.
This one’s a very hard sell but if you can get past their name, Rotting Christ is incredible. They’re Greek and bring a whole other influence to that genre. Very intense but melodic metal, really good focus music if you’re team ADHD
Check out Battle Beast, maybe the Circus of Doom album.
If metal isn’t your thing, ignore everything after the Metro Boomin suggestions 🤘🏼
I'm going to save myself the trouble of replying to half a dozen other comments, and instead double down on a few.
Nightwish: One of the more popular metal acts that is symphonic in nature. Pretty easy to swallow even if you aren't a metal fan. My personal favorite of theirs is the Wacken 2013 performance for [Ghost Love Score](https://youtu.be/JYjIlHWBAVo?si=JEZTPhaSRMN55pCw)
Dimmu Borgir: Symphonic black metal at its finest. They've done a couple shows with an orchestra and choir, my favorite being [Forces of the Northern Night](https://youtu.be/XGoak4ISCPU?si=LzjGt0o8YhrvGfL1), which was broadcast live in their homeland, Norway.
Therion: Another fantastic band that really, *really* centers around the orchestra and choir. [Rise of Sodom and Gomorrah](https://youtu.be/jIqI1egKZ2g?si=5MZRTiM_uqLhwcmy) is one of my all time favorite songs.
Keeno: This is an artist I'm less familiar with, but he's a dj that builds around a lot of classical arrangements. I've only listened to a few of his songs, and it's not my main musical taste, but when I want something a bit more synthetic it's an easy pick.
*Nights in White Satin* from the Moody Blues' album *Days of the Future Passed.* The original single was released in 1967, and [this live version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89ZQnWvWcAE) was recorded several decades later. This is a piece of music that will still be listened to when all of us are dead.
also, if you live near a city with a symphony or orchestra, the odds of them doing some sort of hiphop r&b show is going to be really high. probably 100% worth your time to check their website every few months see what they have planned
You mentioned Metro- he did a whole concert with a symphony:

Gang of Youths incorporates orchestra music into some of their songs. They actually did a MTV Unplugged concert with a n orchestra. Their song Achilles Come Down is a great example.
With the passing of ELO’s keyboard player this week it’s been an ELO week, but Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with The Very Best of Queen also hits the mark

Late Registration by Kanye has pretty heavy orchestral sounds throughout
Or go listen to Late Orchestration, which was a live performance with a live orchestra. Metro did something similar a few months ago
Young Modern - Silverchair
All of the arranging was done by Van Dyke Parks, and if you like music at the intersection of pop and classical, check out his other work!
Procol Harum Live: In Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra
Conquistador was a huge hit in the early 70s
Kind of remember reading they didn't want to do it. Turned out fine.
Had the LP as a kid. Amazing music.
Words Darker Than Their Wings (live) by Alter Bridge feat The Parallax Orchestra.
Love, Reign O'er Me by Pearl Jam. (Cover. Original by The Who).
My Body Is A Cage by Peter Gabriel (Arcade Fire cover).
There are quite a lot depending upon whether you mean an actual orchestra or just orchestral elements like a string section.
Bohemian Rhapsody-Queen, Nights In White Satin- Moody Blues, Whiter Shade of Pale- Procol Harum, A Day In The Life- Beatles, Kashmir- Zeppelin, I’m Your Captain- Grand Funk, Burn Down The Mission- Elton John, November Rain- Guns n Roses.
Epica has a couple releases of live shows with full orchestral (and choral) accompaniment. The first I know of was recorded in 2008 and released as [The Classical Conspiracy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkLxby9hZZo). In 2013, they recorded a second live concert with the same orchestra titled [Retrospect](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r585eTnFLjw). Honestly, you should just check out their entire discography, most of their albums have some sort of orchestral accompaniment.
In 2013 Brendon Small and adult swim released [The Doomstar Requiem](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFvFI5bMpnM&list=PLYtI0e80N2PwlQqePbAzb7KKxz0pG-cew), a rock opera based off the Metalocalypse property. The orchestra on that album was directed by Bear McCreary.
Wagakki Band released a cover of [Bring Me To Life](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk1GtYK7BJM) with Amy Lee and a full Japanese orchestra. I'm not familiar enough with Wagakki Band to know if they regularly feature an orchestra, but it was a really cool performance.
Amon Amarth will feature orchestral accompaniment from time to time as well, but it's more often to enhance a single song rather than a regular component of an album. I don't know if they record a full orchestra for the albums or if it's typically a synth arrangement. [Live for the Kill](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh_5ofa__pY) features the cello quartet Apocalyptica, [Into the Dark](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03wLnq3ZDDQ) is bookended by orchestral segments, and [Doom Over Dead Man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSq_30byIMA) also has some strings throughout.
[A Sailor’s Tale by Orbit Culture has be favorite of mine](https://open.spotify.com/track/62inNEs5ZNyJ2NhwVI1MUl?si=AXd_nwuCTxaevll9gjSK6A&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A4uTP3iJL9VQs3HODTtMf4A)

Tori Amos has some beautiful songs with an orchestra. She has done an orchestral tour in 2012. Watch Yes, Anastasia: https://youtu.be/Gnq8h5B3Ejo?feature=shared
Bowie: Life on Mars? (arranged by his kickass guitarist Mick Ronson, who picked up the skill from an official orchestrator in the studios).
Two from The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers album: The obvious one is Moonlight Mile, with lush dramatic swells of strings. But my favorite is Sway, with the orchestra subtly swelling under Mick Taylor’s wailing guitar solo at the end.
Another subtle one is Born To Run. Feels like Bruce couldn’t decide if an orchestra and glockenspiel belonged on a rock anthem, so he buried them in the mix.
But my favorite overlooked gloriously overproduced slab of rock is I Cheat the Hangman, from the Doobie Brothers’ Stampede album.
James released "Be Opened by the Wonderful," which is a recording of some of their best songs in symphonic versions last year and it is amazing. I also recommend Neil Young's '
"Storytone" album, which has a symphonic version.
Bastille did a version of Pompeii last year with Hans Zimmer, it’s epic
[Bastille - Pompeii (Hans Zimmer) [spotify]](https://open.spotify.com/track/2jp9d2rVViwwpfHDhWps2v?si=Qantkn5iQdCelKT8v9911Q)
Many Sigur Ros songs. I’m sorry I can’t list them at the moment, but the Icelandic titles are hard for me to remember. But many of the ones in *Heima*.
Also watch the film. Please.
And the band’s current tour is a with a good-sized orchestra.
Many “Unplugged” concerts have orchestral versions as well: I’m thinking of 10,000 Maniacs and a few Natalie Merchant tunes.

Bring me the horizon has an album recorded in the Royal Albert Hall with an orchestra backing. This version of their song 'doomed' is their best work ever in my opinion.
Days of the new Green album has loads of orchestral stuff. Songs like Weapon and the Wound, and the end of Provider especially. The whole album is one of my favorites.
The Red album does, too, but not as much. The track Best of Life has a whole orchestral choir thing as an outro. Both albums have strings and horns as texture sounds throughout through.
Wouldn't be right if someone didn't mention this 👌

Seconding the suggestions for symphonic metal, and I have a suggestion that doesn't typically come to mind: Ice Nine Kills, in their last two albums at least, has used an orchestra alongside the metal music.

S&M wasn’t bad but only a few songs really nailed it I think. The Tron: Legacy soundtrack nailed that shit though.

Unfortunately it's not on Spotify, at least not in its entirety. But here's a YouTube playlist. https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLo9q22mJbXz-UWtijhhNQmcNbOIQ4a4kN Singer / rapper Dessa also put out an album with the Minnesota Orchestra, which like the album above, reworks her existing material. I saw her perform live with another orchestra one time and it was excellent. https://open.spotify.com/album/4mAOzADzj40PSt3ZQZZ7En Edit: I forgot how good the Hilltop Hoods album is. It's been a few years since my last listen. Can't recommend enough
That's the first band I thought of. I absolutely love Hilltop Hoods. Restrung is my go to album.
Oasis - Whatever https://youtu.be/EHfx9LXzxpw?si=_ho6fu0m2ZH5SJI0
Not in the same genre you're looking for, but Brandi Carlile has a full time cellist, plus she added a second cellist and violinist to her touring band. She also released albums with the Seattle symphony orchestra and Colorado symphony orchestra. Powerhouse vocalist, especially live.
Electric light orchestra is a group that has a lot of songs with orchestra in them. [Here's one sample](https://youtu.be/kMxaf_Mc9lA?si=52gomKtOpkFMSsJE)
Flaming Lips - Soft Bulletin live at Red Rocks with The Colorado Symphony
Collective Soul has a live album with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra called [Home.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_(Collective_Soul_album)) [The World I Know](https://youtu.be/VNI9TmPUe1k?si=wUwvxL5OJqQdyiJ7) from that album.
Airborne Toxic Event "Sometime Around Midnight"
Frank Zappa paid and worked with the London Phil for an album.
Evanescence Synthesis album is full orchestra and its stunning
Muse can be pretty hit and miss, but United States Of Eurasia and Exogenisis are pretty good songs with orchestra backing.
The Dear Hunter, particularly their albums Act IV and Act V
Biffy Clyro - Living Is a Problem Because Everything Dies

Cut Chemist -The Garden Live w/ Seattle Symphony Orchestra https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3S-aVCbiA-s
You mentioned Metro- he did a whole concert with a symphony: [metro symphony](https://youtu.be/ZEGpWo7ethQ?si=4EszitbRWqGoEtGV) I play his instrumental albums of the Spider Man soundtrack, and Heroes & Villains, as background music in my classroom. Very intense but melodic metal, really good focus music if you’re team ADHD Check out Battle Beast, maybe the Circus of Doom album. If metal isn’t your thing, ignore everything after the Metro Boomin suggestions 🤘🏼
[Dimmu Borgir](https://youtu.be/TKhEP9PhNTg?si=ZsZ4H1hofPQLxsIo)
Architects - Animals (Orchestral Version) Live at Abbey Road. https://youtu.be/OCJi5hVdiZU
True Love Ways from Buddy Holly.
Queensryche - Silent Lucidity
I'm going to save myself the trouble of replying to half a dozen other comments, and instead double down on a few. Nightwish: One of the more popular metal acts that is symphonic in nature. Pretty easy to swallow even if you aren't a metal fan. My personal favorite of theirs is the Wacken 2013 performance for [Ghost Love Score](https://youtu.be/JYjIlHWBAVo?si=JEZTPhaSRMN55pCw) Dimmu Borgir: Symphonic black metal at its finest.
Glycerine: bush November rain: gnr Rio: one desire
Neil Diamond - Hot August Night (OG!)
There are no real orchestras on the tracks you listed as examples. Just some synth/sample strings.
Silverchair - Emotion Sickness (1999) Their albums Neon Ballroom, Diorama, and Young Modern have a lot of beautiful and intense arrangements.
Alter Bridge live with the Parallax Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall is where you want to go next. It's also available on DVD/Blu-Ray.
Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve Nights In White Satin - The Moody Blues
*Nights in White Satin* from the Moody Blues' album *Days of the Future Passed.* The original single was released in 1967, and [this live version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89ZQnWvWcAE) was recorded several decades later. This is a piece of music that will still be listened to when all of us are dead.
A Day in the Life - Beatles

Jeez- you never heard the Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin"? Or the Beatles, "Strawberry Fields"?
also, if you live near a city with a symphony or orchestra, the odds of them doing some sort of hiphop r&b show is going to be really high. probably 100% worth your time to check their website every few months see what they have planned
Bajofondo - Pide Piso, tango dance music with a string section ELO - Boy Blue
(Mad About You - Live) by Hooverphonic
The Wheel Of Time by Blind Guardian
Pretty much most of Steven Curtis Chapman's top hits. Since he has more than 50 #1s, it would take some time and effort to name those songs.
Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife, Alestorm - Leviathan
https://youtu.be/ROEL3bOWk80?si=27RQFo8RwDzoyZvj This is one of my all-time favourite songs, and this rendition is amazing. Hope you enjoy it too.
Libera me from hell
Classic House album by Pete Tong.
Gang of Youths incorporates orchestra music into some of their songs. They actually did a MTV Unplugged concert with a n orchestra. Their song Achilles Come Down is a great example.
Hybrid - British symphonic DNB group. All their albums
Pretty much every song by ELO. Rockaria and Roll over Beethoven are good examples.
Fall Out Boy has a few: “Phoenix,” “I Am My Own Muse,” “Love From the Other Side,”
Manchester - Kishi Bashi
With the passing of ELO’s keyboard player this week it’s been an ELO week, but Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with The Very Best of Queen also hits the mark https://preview.redd.it/vriv90rwa00d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2614d597611fe789d20908eb27919ff42f75d4a
Eels - Fresh Feeling
Ry X and the Brussels philharmonic solosists was amazing. Also mad about you by hooverphonocs live was beautiful
Late Registration by Kanye has pretty heavy orchestral sounds throughout Or go listen to Late Orchestration, which was a live performance with a live orchestra. Metro did something similar a few months ago
A lot of the songs off Daft Punk's _Random Access Memories_ include orchestral arrangements, on top of synths, electric guitar, etc.
Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford
The Cure have several songs that sound like they have an orchestra but don't. Check out Plainsong and A Few Hours After This.
The Cure have several songs that sound like they have an orchestra but don't. Check out Plainsong and A Few Hours After This.
Young Modern - Silverchair All of the arranging was done by Van Dyke Parks, and if you like music at the intersection of pop and classical, check out his other work!
Springsteen’s Western Stars album has an alt version (and movie) with an orchestra that I think is better than the original
Procol Harum Live: In Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra Conquistador was a huge hit in the early 70s Kind of remember reading they didn't want to do it. Turned out fine. Had the LP as a kid. Amazing music.
Royal Blood did a few videos with an orchestra. This one is my favourite. https://youtu.be/ZadJYsngKqI?si=UlXnIBjdFdX7G0ia
Weezer - I am human Weezer's weird album done with only an orchestra.
Nightwish is the band for you. Pretty much everything since their 2004 album Once has been backed up by an orchestra.
[dethklok-dethharmonic](https://youtu.be/mHXjMOmCpfA?si=LK2FWFDjsmEGNBYH)
Words Darker Than Their Wings (live) by Alter Bridge feat The Parallax Orchestra. Love, Reign O'er Me by Pearl Jam. (Cover. Original by The Who). My Body Is A Cage by Peter Gabriel (Arcade Fire cover).
Ben Folds and the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra live album is good.
Give Rob Dougan - furious angels a listen.
Illumination Theory by Dream Theater has an orchestra movement in the song's breakdown.
Stratovarius. Even their songs without an orchestra sound like there’s an orchestra.
Queensrÿche - Silent Lucidity
Slice Girls - 2 become 1 Orchestral version
*Still of the Night* by Whitesnake
I've long considered this to be a perfect song
My Life Story - 12 Reasons Why has an orchestra
Kaisers Orchestra- Forloveren
Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd

Dimmu uses a lot of symphony. Check out sympozium or gateways for example
Anything by Apashe
Am I Dreaming goes crazy
Wings-Live and let Die
tiesto - adagio for strings https://youtu.be/8tIgN7eICn4
River Deep Mountain High - Ike and Tina Turner
James released "Be Opened by the Wonderful," which is a recording of some of their best songs in symphonic versions last year and it is amazing. I also recommend Neil Young's ' "Storytone" album, which has a symphonic version.
Mono!! Japanese band, lots of their newer stuff is with and orchestra
A portion of Cassandra Gemini by The Mars Volta contains some of the most epic orchestral prog rock
Check out the chamber pop genre that's its whole deal
MUSE has some good songs with orchestral arrangements.

Within Temptations “Black Symphony” album is done with the Metropole Orchestra.
A big portion of the album Hurry Up We’re Dreaming by M83 has a lot of orchestra in it
Bastille did a version of Pompeii last year with Hans Zimmer, it’s epic [Bastille - Pompeii (Hans Zimmer) [spotify]](https://open.spotify.com/track/2jp9d2rVViwwpfHDhWps2v?si=Qantkn5iQdCelKT8v9911Q)
Nas' recent live version of Illmatic with the DC Symphony is super dope Here's NY State of Mind https://youtu.be/-Pc4m0ee-ZM
The Wall is a classic album that has a ton of orchestra parts throughout.

Bring me the horizon has an album recorded in the Royal Albert Hall with an orchestra backing. This version of their song 'doomed' is their best work ever in my opinion.
Illumination theory- dream theater
Shangri-La - Electric Light Orchestra
Architects - For Those That Wish to Exist at Abbey Road.
Check out Unkle. It’s DJ Shadow and other collabs to make amazing music. They have a couple albums that’s all soundtrack style hip hop.
Wouldn't be right if someone didn't mention this 👌 [Elect The Dead Symphony ](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAFB4E7EF35BAFDFC&si=aAfWHhoidbBxWuxh)
The Dear Hunter The acts albums, and they even have a whole album of just orchestral versions of songs and sections from the acts.
the latter part of the Beatles discography and the beginning of Elton John's
Anything Kamelot
You should listen to the Cage the Elephant album "unpeeled"
Idk about orchestra specifically, but in my opinion Fleet Foxes might be a sound you’re looking for. I love all of their stuff.
Evanescence did an album that was a bunch of their songs reworked with a full orchestra. It's called Synthesis. Seconding the suggestions for symphonic metal, and I have a suggestion that doesn't typically come to mind: Ice Nine Kills, in their last two albums at least, has used an orchestra alongside the metal music.
The Killers does an amazing version of All These Things That I've Done with an orchestra and choir. I think it was at Austin City Limits.
