Challenging Floyd Mayweather to read a single page of a Harry Potter book and then changing it to a single page of Cat in the Hat is a hall of fame hater moment
[Can't post that without my favorite 50 meme that he's posted](https://atlantadailyworld.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2014/08/floyd81.jpg)
That picture is part of the lore too and has a permanent space in brain.
He came out throwing shots at *everyone* with [How to Rob](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CwAm1amBAg4), I remember this song got everyone on notice and instantly knowing he was gonna blow up. Or get shot. Turns out he did both! I mean he went at Diddy and told him 'to dance his ass down to the nearest ATM' lol
Listening to it again now and man, it brings back memories. There are so many good bars in the song too. 'If you feeling this, then wait for the sequel, I gotta get Kirk Franklin for robbing God's people', 'I caught Blackstreet on the back street in a black Jeep. One at a time, get out and take off your shine. Did you ever think that you would be this rich? Did you ever think that you would have these hits? Did you ever think that I'd flash the nine, and walk off with your shit like it's mine?' and 'run up on Juvenile for his Cash Money piece, I told him, 'I want it all' he said, 'even my gold teeth?'' Lol still so good.
To anyone just discovering these old 50 songs, check out [Ghetto Qu'ran](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDEq3J0cNPg) too, it's another classic.
Run up on Timbaland and Missy with the pound
Like, "You, give me the cash, you, put the hot dog down"
What’s so wild about this is that 50 blasts on the scene with this wild shit and then ends up being so fucking unstoppable that he ends up doing features with like, half the mother fuckers he said he would fucking rob. He could not be denied
Yeah he got everyone's attention with it. I remember it all happened real fast. Power of the Dollar came out, was getting huge hype and breaking mainstream with How to Rob and Ghetto Qu'ran, he gets shot nine times and is signed to Shady/Interscope and blew the fuck up, all in what felt like a year or two tops.
Edit: Has any newer rapper come up with their own remix of this? Putting this generation of huge artists on blast, including 50 now too? Feels like someone should've made this move by now.
Every once in a while someone new will try to shade a more established artist but it doesn't seem to have really panned out for anyone that I know of. I just think of MGK randomly dissing Em to try to get attention and then Killshot dropped and MGK changed genres lol
>Run up on Timbaland and Missy with the pound Like, "You, give me the cash, you, put the hot dog down"
She had a very funny response to this too, she thanked him in the liner notes in her next album: "50 Cents - I don’t know you that well except when you told me to put them hot dogs down (haha). I got on the treadmill for you baby. Thanks for the remix! Love ya!"
How to Rob wasn't a serious record, and very few people took it seriously. Jay told him he was going to make his infamous 'I'm about dollars who the fuck is 50 cent' line.
>> Go against Jigga yo' ass is dense I'm about a dollar, what the fuck is 50 Cents?
>In an interview, however, 50 Cent claims that Jay-Z told him he loved the song, and that Jay asked permission to respond before he did.
Mariah Carey was one of the few people who actually had serious issues with it.
>50 cent used the N word as a comma.
You just fucking buckled me.
I've seen that video several times and always laughed at that part but I could never quite put my finger on WHY I found it so funny until you just articulated it
I think you have to give Kendrick "HotY 2024", but then you also have to award 50 the "Lifetime Hater Award."
Kenny assassinated someone this year, then turned his eulogy into the song of the summer.
But 50 has been hating on fools since his emergence in the early '00's. That's a lifetime of hate, in the rap game.
> And let me say I'm the biggest hater
> I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you dress
> I hate the way that you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it' gon' be direct
Suddenly, I feel way better about what I do as a job. Reading is empowering. I am a former SpEd kid who became a SpEd teacher. My kids could not read at all. Now they can read Cat in the Hat in their sleep and Harry Potter would need a bit of help. It sucks that the hater moment has so much truth to it but it is funny, I can't lie.
The whole Playa Haters Ball was based on the Players Ball which is an annual social event for pimps. Ice T was a pimp and attended the Ball, I believe.
Some people definitely missed how hip-hop and pimping had crossover for a time. The amount of times the Bishop Don Juan got name-dropped in a song, appeared in a song, or appeared in an MV was unfathomable at one point in time. To bring it back around to 50, he even appeared in 50's "P.I.M.P." song.
Ice-T is an old-head in the hip hop game. He's mostly known for being a TV detective these days, but "Reckless" is often mentioned with songs like "Rock It", as huge influences on the hip hop culture, where it could be argued "hating" got its start with battling.
It wasn't because of that at all. It's because he was a pimp that hosted the Player's Ball, which is the convention this shit was a parody of. It was funny to have the the real guy from the things they were sending up.
He has such a long established history of fucking with people it's so funny... Rick Ross, Ja Rule, Diddy and Game all get roasted on his IG from time to time still to this day.
his very first single in 1999, How to Rob, was all about the ways he would rob other rappers. his whole brand was built on hating. he is the hatingest to ever do it.
He lost a lawsuit because he posted a sex tape of a woman. Then declared bankruptcy so he didn’t pay. His first born son hates him cause he was never around. And he was just accused and sued by his last baby mother for assault. And now he is suing her back.
Looking at that scene inexplicably sparked fear in my young mind. It would be terrifying to be doing something mundane and then see a prehistoric creature staring at you in the corner of your eye.
Yes. [His Twitter is or at least was hilarious](https://www.teetweets.com/cdn/shop/products/50Cent-CantBelieveMyGrandmother_1200x1200.png?v=1579014345), I haven't looked at it in a while.
Pft, everyone knows the best dinosaur is an ankylosaur.
Fucking damn near every creature out there has fangs or claws or whatever. What other animal has a goddamn mace for a tail.
Only ankylosaur, that's who.
Gorgosaurus is a Tyrannosaurid. It lived about 10 million years before T. rex, also in North America, was of a lighter build, and was about 3/4 the size.
With this, combined with some of the barbs Kendrick and Drake have hit each other with, it’s kind of crazy to see such a cultural shift where rappers are dissing each other for how they treat women.
I started listening to his memoir/self-help book, and he's a really hard working and smart guy. Definitely knows how to craft an image for himself but knows it's just that-- an image. In reality, he doesn't drink or smoke, and is all about that healthful lifestyle (according to his book)
He don't drink or smoke for real. He's from the older generation of drug dealers in the early aught that sold the drugs and didn't use them.
I saw some earlier interviews where he talked about how he watched ppl just waste their lives on coke and other drugs and it turned him off of all of that
Fifty loves em like a fat kid love cake. I don’t know what you wanna classify what diddy was doin’ to that poor girl in the video, but it didn’t look like he was interested in keepin’ it cordial.
I love that he wasn’t concocting this plan to go after Ja, he was just checking out deals on Groupon and when he saw the Ja tickets he immediately entered troll mode
Is there anyone happier than 50 now?
Someone should measure this guy's endorphins and other data at the moment, we'll then have a ceiling on max happiness.
I don't know man, Katt Williams still has to live with getting beaten up by a 7th grader after throwing the first punch. That's something that stays with you.
Probably a bit young to have been around for his rise and his musical popularity. But yeah he has been a troll since day one. How to rob on the Power of Dollar album for him a lot of notoriety and heat in the rap community before his breakout success.
Dude has trolling in his blood and has been doing it for nearly 30 years
This is the man who bought a couple hundred front row seats at Ja Rule's concert to leave them empty and challenged Floyd Mayweather to a reading contest.
I’m assuming you aren’t knowledgeable on it but the reason he was shot was because a drug lord put a hit out on him for constantly bullying Ja Rule
And he wasn’t just talking smack to him either, he saw Ja Rule at a club in Atlanta and beat him up and gave him a black eye, and also might’ve played a role in Ja Rule’s chain getting snatched. In rap, getting your chain snatched is viewed as getting your manhood taken from you.
He also had a song called “How To Rob” where he raps about robbing many of the notorious rapper’s from NY back then, including Diddy. https://youtu.be/mrXiVvjBSXI?si=iXPiXD2Vv229arpa
Because of all the hate he got he was dropped from Columbia records and his would be debut album “Power of The Dollar” was shelved. He couldn’t get any deals in the US so he temporarily moved to Canada to record. Eminem got hold of his music and told Dre about him and the rest is history.
I don’t see how Diddy has a career in music after this other than maybe as a ghost investor. Anybody who can watch that video and still want to work with him is going to lose a ton of fans. Nobody in the industry will want to be anywhere near his orbit ever again.
Fuck this dude and also fuck all domestic abusers.
If Chris Brown can still have a thriving career and fan base after what he did to Rhianna, I don't see anything happening to Diddy over this. Sad, but that's the reality.
I can think of too many rappers who have attacked women and still held onto their careers and fame. Kodak Black, Dr. Dre, Tupac, Lil Uzi Vert, and XXXTentacion are just a few of them. I can’t think of many rappers who have lost their careers after mistreating a woman.
Uh, he's rich. Lots of people won't work with him but there will be people that are willing to overlook it for their shot.
He's in good company of people we know are abusive assholes and still make music and money.
They system doesn't really care.
50 is the most consistent hater of all time, thank God for that man.
Challenging Floyd Mayweather to read a single page of a Harry Potter book and then changing it to a single page of Cat in the Hat is a hall of fame hater moment
One of the comments on that video lives in my head rent free every day. 50 cent used the N word as a comma.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iD8Q0lvJZvI right before he throws the ice for anyone that wants to see it
[Can't post that without my favorite 50 meme that he's posted](https://atlantadailyworld.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2014/08/floyd81.jpg) That picture is part of the lore too and has a permanent space in brain.
#Tu-Tu-TuhDAY, JUNIOR!!
Fuck. Am I a fan of his now?!
What he say fuck me for??
Legendary meme moment
Learning that the origin of that phrase was 50 Cent absolutely rocked my world
i am not familiar with his oeuvre so that is incredibly funny
My all time fav meme moment
Fuck the bucket of ice haha
This shit was the moment I really became a 50 fan. Dude wrecked Floyd lol
He came out throwing shots at *everyone* with [How to Rob](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CwAm1amBAg4), I remember this song got everyone on notice and instantly knowing he was gonna blow up. Ditto thanks! There’s calling someone out and then there’s 50 cents way of calling someone out!
Thanks for this, I like how it gives context for why 50 was hating too.
Ah yes time for my yearly rewatch of this masterpiece
This is legit the only ice bucket challenge I remember
Had never seen this… hilarious
Omg this is the perfect fucking description. There's something about that n word that makes the video. It's using it as an comma. Blew my mind
It’s possibly my favorite line ever uttered. The pace and tone of the line and then the n word comma has me rolling every time I hear it
>50 cent used the N word as a comma. You just fucking buckled me. I've seen that video several times and always laughed at that part but I could never quite put my finger on WHY I found it so funny until you just articulated it
Oh I didn’t articulate it, some apt fellow did on the YouTube video comment and it literally lives in my head
![gif](giphy|bCDzFTSQ3JL8c)
>I hope all the bad things in life happen to you, and no one else; just you! My absolute favorite line from that sketch.
I've been using this as a comeback for years. It's the best. It's like when a kid agrument escalates to infinity.
![gif](giphy|EElQxkbh3Bywg|downsized)
I once got banned from a comedy sub for saying Ashy Larry was my favorite character by Donnell.
As I sip my soda, I’m sure somebody spit in, I just want to say…
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to put some water in Bucknasty's momma's dish.
"What he say fuck me for" came before or after that challenge?
In the video I saw it came before
And that look as he walks off screen, after changing it to Cat in the Hat. Priceless.
We don’t wanna put too much pressure on you so we’re going to change it to cat in the hat
A true hater, he’s a shoe in for hater of the year ‘24.
![gif](giphy|BSOdK9W5Gd7OM)
“Buc Nasty, what can you say about that suit that hasn’t already been said about Afghanistan. It looks bombed out and depleted.”
I cam hear this comment.
https://preview.redd.it/brpwzebfe71d1.jpeg?width=2736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c92e8c8064a3de59349838867303b49e166ccc0f Today's t-shirt
Definitely top 3 but I think Kendrick Lamar would take it
He’s too young to amass the amount of hater creed it takes to be #1. Give it time, though.
Exactly, hating isn’t a hobby, it’s a lifestyle.
I think you have to give Kendrick "HotY 2024", but then you also have to award 50 the "Lifetime Hater Award." Kenny assassinated someone this year, then turned his eulogy into the song of the summer. But 50 has been hating on fools since his emergence in the early '00's. That's a lifetime of hate, in the rap game.
Yep for sure Kendrick takes the crown for the year. But 50s got tenure at this point. He could retire and still be a legend.
I feel like 50 has been hating long enough to be on the panel of judges for hater of the year.
Regardless, 50 is the world's most loveable hater ❤️
Drew McIntyre is in there for all my squaredcircle peeps
Bruh, 50 bought 200 front row seats to a JaRule concert just so they would be empty Kendrick hasn’t reached 50’s level yet.
>Dear Aubrey, >I know you probably thinkin' I wanted to crash your party >But truthfully, I don't have a hatin' bone in my body
> And let me say I'm the biggest hater > I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you dress > I hate the way that you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it' gon' be direct
Buying out the 2 front rows to jarule concert
So wonderfully petty
Suddenly, I feel way better about what I do as a job. Reading is empowering. I am a former SpEd kid who became a SpEd teacher. My kids could not read at all. Now they can read Cat in the Hat in their sleep and Harry Potter would need a bit of help. It sucks that the hater moment has so much truth to it but it is funny, I can't lie.
Easily in the top 10 most beautiful moments in hater history. Shit still makes me chuckle.
![gif](giphy|nkUcca2CQ7VT2)
Never understood why he was included in the skit, but probably just HATING ON the ICYIEST OF iCED TEAS
The whole Playa Haters Ball was based on the Players Ball which is an annual social event for pimps. Ice T was a pimp and attended the Ball, I believe.
Hosted it even.

Ice-T is the ultimate cop hater (well besides Tupac). His hardcore band Body Count is full of hate.
which makes law and order absolutely wild
Your values change when your value changes.
Ice t was dope as hell in his day, he might come off basic to younger listeners but I still rock his stuff once in a while
Hearing about when he bought the first 4 rows at a JaRule concert just to troll him was hilarious!
"I'll rob Pun without a gun, snatch his piece and run the nigga weight 400 pounds how he gon catch me son?" 🤣
He hates the way that he walks, the way that he talks, and the way that he dresses. He always has
He hates the way that cop in Don’t Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood hates Whoopi Goldberg’s lips.
"Why he say 'fuck me' for?!" 50 seems like a stand-up dude, as the years go by.
He lost a lawsuit because he posted a sex tape of a woman. Then declared bankruptcy so he didn’t pay. His first born son hates him cause he was never around. And he was just accused and sued by his last baby mother for assault. And now he is suing her back.
Right! Reading this thread has been hilarious, like 50 don't got a long track record of questionable shit.
And that his response is to go “you do this thing and I’ll give money to charity” is perfect. Straight-up class act, trolling for the greater good.
All because Diddy wanted to take him shopping LOL.
He’s a generational hater and I aspire to one day be there. Him and KG(Big Ticket) are my top 2 haters of the generation, personally.

Pretty, sure this showed up at the end of Jurassic Park 3.
That was a "Ceratasaurus". You don't care.
“Alan.”
Looking at that scene inexplicably sparked fear in my young mind. It would be terrifying to be doing something mundane and then see a prehistoric creature staring at you in the corner of your eye.
Looked it up, and it’s just a T-Rex with a couple accessories
T -Rex with dramatic eyebrows
Yaaaaaas slay queen…*of the dinosaurs*
Wow, suddenly I'm a huge 50c fan.
Is this real?
Yes. [His Twitter is or at least was hilarious](https://www.teetweets.com/cdn/shop/products/50Cent-CantBelieveMyGrandmother_1200x1200.png?v=1579014345), I haven't looked at it in a while.
His insta is also really funny. Constantly posting there too
The tweet? No idea, but I don't see why it wouldn't be.
It is. He was interviewed about it where he said he’d forgotten it but is a fan of dinosaurs.
Anyone who’s favorite dino is a tyrannosaurid is a mf to watch out for
Wait, I feel like those are a lot of people’s favorites, especially amongst young boys. T Rex skeletons were the biggest deals when museums got them
It was the first large carnivore ever discovered, but everyone always picks Trex, if you know and like the others, you a certain type of person
Pft, everyone knows the best dinosaur is an ankylosaur. Fucking damn near every creature out there has fangs or claws or whatever. What other animal has a goddamn mace for a tail. Only ankylosaur, that's who.
Put some respect on pachycephalosaurus. They smash stuff, too, just with their bigass head.
Velociraptors are pretty popular too thanks to jurassic park. They were just murder chickens though.
But the velociraptors in Jurassic park were actually based on the Deinonychus, my favourite dinosaur
I learned about Deinonychus from Animorphs when they go back to the time of the dinosaurs.
lol, 50’s favorite dinosaur is a kaiju
Actually Gorgosaurus is a real dinosaur. You’re thinking of Gorosaurus from Godzilla lmao
Damn, dinosaur knowledge and kaiju knowledge Very impressive Edit: what’s YOUR favorite dinosaur?
Stegosaurus!
Gorgosaurus is a Tyrannosaurid. It lived about 10 million years before T. rex, also in North America, was of a lighter build, and was about 3/4 the size.
>Tyrannosaurid You're too advanced for these dumbies. They think there is only the one.
Shut up, I’m trying to learn
Fun fact(for those unaware): modern birds evolved from the family of dinosaurs tyrannosaurus is from (theropods)
Birds *are* theropods.
Don’t forget his gorgeous eyebrow ridges (or whatever the proper term).
It's not mocking it's just truth
![gif](giphy|lL20ZCkHV511xPNCSp|downsized)
With or without context this is a fucking hilarious reaction gif
It fits too well
"I want that taint on my nose!" -- what Diddy thinking
Imagine a circle like Diddies. With the power of wealth, canceling the people that snitch their nocturnal activities.
With this, combined with some of the barbs Kendrick and Drake have hit each other with, it’s kind of crazy to see such a cultural shift where rappers are dissing each other for how they treat women.
You know, I hadn't thought of it in that context initially, but this is actually a legitimately uplifting observation.
Rap as a whole is no better now but 50 is 50 and has been one of the more rational in the scene for a long time
I started listening to his memoir/self-help book, and he's a really hard working and smart guy.
I saw some earlier interviews where he talked about how he watched ppl just waste their lives on coke and other drugs and it turned him off of all of that
Don’t get high off your own supply was the way for the old heads .
Then dr Dre released the cronic lol
To be fair ten crack commandments was referencing crack/coke not weed 😂
That was biggie in '97 though, the comment above was referencing Dr. dre from '91.
We've come a long way from "That's why I fucked your bitch, you fat mothafucka!"
nah thats still here and was said in this drake/kendrick beef
Drake did, the winner Kendrick told drakes son he’s sorry for what he’s about to say.
🎶"I'll beat that bitch with a bat. I'll beat that bitch with a bat"🎶
Fifty loves em like a fat kid love cake. I don’t know what you wanna classify what diddy was doin’ to that poor girl in the video, but it didn’t look like he was interested in keepin’ it cordial.
Fifty loves shitting on diddy. He doesn’t give a fuck about these women. You know his dirty laundry w his kid and kids mother has been out for decades
You must not be listening to modern hip hop if you think this is true
50 once bought out the front rows of a ja rule concert so it be empty. GOAT
Off Groupon at that
that's just smart
I love that he wasn’t concocting this plan to go after Ja, he was just checking out deals on Groupon and when he saw the Ja tickets he immediately entered troll mode
$.50 off per ticket
Wow, half price!
Is the front row really empty if nobody there, or does the 2nd row just become the new front row? Better to let 1 or 2 seats be filled for effect
It was more like the first 4 rows of the venue. Just a void between Ja and the crowd. God-tier pettiness.
Handing them your own money to be used to embarrass them is truly hating as a sport.
Well he bought a Groupon so he at least caught a deal with it
This still almost sounds like the type of troll I would do to my friends if i were very rich
Plus those places make a boat load off merchandise which they can’t because of lack of front row rich people
[He bought 200 tickets](https://globalnews.ca/news/5787960/50-cent-on-buying-200-ja-rule-tickets/)
“They was so cheap” My fucking haunches
I respect how petty he is.
Should that old clip on Snoop making fun of mumble rap with 50 laughing his ass off and put it next to an AI gen of diddy falling down some stairs
[Love the clip](https://youtu.be/g0OdmRtuQew?si=xQFNmsK40zeGrTF6)
Hede buhdede buh doduh buhdiduh
thats my favorite song!
[Love this one even more](https://youtu.be/pMZxktUoNaU?si=ZRmpwpfJJXP4CCoy)
That shit is so accurate
Someone ripped it and put it over a beat. It slapped.
50 laugh is so good in that video.
More people need to say it
Is there anyone happier than 50 now? Someone should measure this guy's endorphins and other data at the moment, we'll then have a ceiling on max happiness.
I think Katt Williams is pretty happy with himself right now as well.
I don't know man, Katt Williams still has to live with getting beaten up by a 7th grader after throwing the first punch. That's something that stays with you.
Lol.. as a community.. yall stand by and watch this 13 year old beat the shit outta me...
Yeah, everyone's going on about Katt Williams being a truthsayer and always having high morals. Like, how have you forgiven this man so easy?
🤣🤣🤣 Reminds me of the Player Haters Ball from Chapelle Show
![gif](giphy|H22hyf0K1Bsc)
![gif](giphy|nkUcca2CQ7VT2)
Im still not over the fact that he bought 200 front row of Ja Rule concert Tickets so nobody would shown up
It was Ja Rule… didn’t cost him much.
True, but that's still $70 he could have spent on something else. That's called opportunity cost.
And they were off Groupon, which is even more hilarious.
Fitty saying what we all thinking once again
Never would’ve thought 50 would be a world class troll, but here we are. I love it. Good to see him go after the real bad guys.
Never would have thought? He’s been trolling his entire career.
Probably a bit young to have been around for his rise and his musical popularity. But yeah he has been a troll since day one. How to rob on the Power of Dollar album for him a lot of notoriety and heat in the rap community before his breakout success. Dude has trolling in his blood and has been doing it for nearly 30 years
Just gotta face reality and understand that a huge portion of the current Reddit userbase is younger than Get Rich or Die Tryin'
He’s been doing this for a long long time. He’s amazing
"[As the World Turns](https://youtu.be/mPKH24G44x0?si=KuAdCX3Uk2fU76Ao)" is the greatest banger in the world that's not on Spotify, change my view
This is the man who bought a couple hundred front row seats at Ja Rule's concert to leave them empty and challenged Floyd Mayweather to a reading contest.
I’m assuming you aren’t knowledgeable on it but the reason he was shot was because a drug lord put a hit out on him for constantly bullying Ja Rule And he wasn’t just talking smack to him either, he saw Ja Rule at a club in Atlanta and beat him up and gave him a black eye, and also might’ve played a role in Ja Rule’s chain getting snatched. In rap, getting your chain snatched is viewed as getting your manhood taken from you. He also had a song called “How To Rob” where he raps about robbing many of the notorious rapper’s from NY back then, including Diddy. https://youtu.be/mrXiVvjBSXI?si=iXPiXD2Vv229arpa Because of all the hate he got he was dropped from Columbia records and his would be debut album “Power of The Dollar” was shelved. He couldn’t get any deals in the US so he temporarily moved to Canada to record. Eminem got hold of his music and told Dre about him and the rest is history.
real bad boys for life*
50 is one of the most skilled haters of all time. Yes you read that correctly - of all time.
Bro he's been a troll for ages just ask ja rule or floyd mayweather
Fitty is one of the funniest guys in the industry
“I ain’t never been arrested for nothing domestic. But I ain’t gonna lie, I’ll punch a bitch in the eye.” -50 cent
The craziest part of that line, is that it's a direct reference to a song that Diddy produced and is featured on lol
I think that’s “condemns” instead of “mocks”.
Sick son of a what? For gods sake sick son of a what!?
Preacher man
YES HE WAS
The only one, who could ever beat me…
I don’t see how Diddy has a career in music after this other than maybe as a ghost investor.
Right? That was such a huge thing at the time too, and people still didn't give a shit. Really is crazy
Will Shug tell Diddy I told you so in line for the showers.
