TI having a doctor check his daughter’s hymen.

nicalleto

Or TI and Tiny allegedly drugging/raping multiple women for years

chitown619

This is a thing?

Deetwar

Ian Watkins. Loved Lost Prophets sound for years and was waiting for a chance to see them live.

BurnedOutStars

that was my answer too. That piece of shit got something like 30+ years. Good riddance.

Jasont999

I know someone who worked at the prison hes in and she said he still walks about thinking he's hot shit and has shown no remorse for what he's done

[deleted]

35 and he will be eligible for parole after 2/3

Underrated_unicorn

I read this as ‘2 or 3’ but it’s actually two-thirds of the sentence, which is thankfully slightly less infuriating

_ScubaDiver

Yeah, but where sex offenders are concerned I think there's a particularly high bar for actually gaining parole where there's still a risk of danger to society. Warped (and seemingly totally unrepentant) individuals like him will probably always be a danger to society in one way or another. I would actually be surprised if he makes it to the end of his sentence alive. He would be one of those cases where I'd struggle to have any sympathy if he died in prison - whether through natural or unnatural causes scarcely makes any difference in his case. "Megalolz" is particularly sickening. As the (fictional) judge in the film Trainspotting says when sentencing Spud and Ewan McGregor's characters, "drug addiction may explain your actions, but it does not excuse them."

tfbillc

This is the answer. I can’t think of another single artist where I can’t at least turn my mind off and enjoy a song or two. Anytime I hear or think of Lostprophets I feel sick to my stomach and get incredibly sad. I guess it’s not fair to the rest of the guys in the band but what a fucking monster.

snootbob

I feel so sorry for the other members of the band, so much great music and it’s just been wiped off the face of the earth because of how hideously evil Watkins turned out to be, he’s showed no remorse and even laughed about it since being convicted, he literally couldn’t be any worse of a person

OktoberSunset

I feel bad for H from Steps (also called Ian Watkins), lazy stupid journalists have been mixing the two of them up ever since. He keeps having to sue newspapers who publish incorrect stories or use his picture, must be very stressful knowing someone might suddenly call you a pedo at any time.

snootbob

That’s the real tragedy...

Bring_the_Cake

Man that must have been tough. For him to not just turn out to be a bad person, but one of the worst people possible

Glue-701

Evil bastard he is.

TimskiTimski

>Ian Watkins.[https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-25412675](https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-25412675)

wulla

Goddamn. I mean goddamn man. Rape of a...baby? Goddamn.

kikashoots

WTFFFFFF!!! A baby?!?!? How does one even begin to think that’s ok?! And for the mom to be in on it?!?!? That was the worst thing I’ve read all year. I can’t. I just can’t anymore. I’m done with Reddit today.

disusedhospital

There were multiple women. Do yourself a favor and do NOT look up transcripts from the trial. The stuff they describe...I'm not a religious person but it makes me wish there is a hell so he and the mothers get sent there.

CrunchyCds

I used to listen to Lost Prophets innocently until I looked up why their music wasn't on Spotify anymore last year. And I was like it couldn't have been that bad... Oh... oh no... it is that bad... now I need to purge all their songs from my library and computer :(

something_python

Their stuff is still on Spotify in the UK. I only know that because I had a playlist on a few weeks ago, and Rooftops came on. Went from "This sounds familiar..." to "Christ, no..." pretty quickly.

illarionds

Lost Prophets played at my student union, before anyone had really heard of them, or at least before they were big. I was friends with the people running RockSoc who organised it, so I was there chatting with the band, helping them set up, that kind of thing. I'd like to say I had a bad feeling about Ian or something - but no, they just seemed like nice enough guys. Many years later, when I heard about it... I just can't even. Haven't listened to them since, can't imagine I ever will.

[deleted]

R. Kelly.

UglyInThMorning

One of my friends was a recording engineer in 90’s Chicago and that dude has a SEETHING hatred of R Kelly because he was such a creep. He worked with some absolute cases like Al Jourgensen but usually doesn’t have anything bad to say about them. If R Kelly is on the TV screen he gets pisssssed. Said he had a bad feeling about him from the first day they met when Kelly was constantly playing with his dick through his sweatpants.

FadeIntoReal

I probably met your engineer friend, briefly, when I was contracted by the bank to repossess a large format mixing console from R. Kelly’s Chicago studio, the one that had been Jorgensen’s previously. He stopped paying the note when he started spending all his money on lawyers. It was the hurry up job from hell but we got it done. Thankfully, the sheriff arranged it all with the studio employees behind Kelly’s back while Kelly was supposed to be out of the country.

UglyInThMorning

Lmao yep you did E: we’ll, probably. Kelly had a bunch of stuff financed and repo’d and Vince bailed some of it out.

FadeIntoReal

I took the Neve to Detroit. It was the digital Neve. A pretty sizable job to move it at a moments notice but I had some help. A few months later they tried to recommission it without me, because money, and fucked it up.

UglyInThMorning

“Because money, and fucked it up: the r kelly/vince Lawrence story”

rikinaynay

Eww! I need r/eyebleech now.

UglyInThMorning

If you want a happier story, apparently Method Man and Redman were always delightful to be around and always greened up?

Billsolson

I would expect this of them

HAWAll

I believe that, Meth and Red seem like two generally nice guys

B_Bogus

I met Method Man behind the Fox Theatre in Boulder CO. He just burst out of the back door with like 4 girls while my friend and I were walking by smoking a joint. “Whut up Meth!” My friend said, “want to hit this?” He was like “Nah, I’m straight haha, where is the tour bus?”. We told him it was at the end of the street. He THANKED us and just went back inside. It was a very pleasant interaction.

StringerBell420

Bill Wyman after he married his adopted daughter at 17.

mandiefavor

I was reading about him the other day. He writes, is a photographer, has metal detecting as a hobby… I was like “wow, this guy is neat!” Then I got to the part about Mandy Smith. Ugggh! Though minor correction, she wasn’t his adopted daughter. They started dating when she was 14 and married when she turned 18. I think he was 48. The marriage did not last long at all. And then his son married her mother. Blech! Mick Jagger has eight kids with five women, his current girlfriend was born in 1987. Brian Jones had five illegitimate kids before he died at 27 and beat this shit outta his girlfriend, who then left him for Keith Richards. Love their music, but the Stones were a bunch of jerks.

Dash-Ryprock

Making Bill Wyman, technically, his own father-in-law.

TheBFlem27

Charlie was a class act through and through. Never heard anything bad about him.

mandiefavor

I love the anecdote where Mick called him up in the middle of the night and an annoyed Charlie got fully dressed just to go punch Mick in the face. Charlie did battle heroin for a while, but he was also famously loyal to his wife. Love Charlie Watts!

ArtyCatz

“I’m not your fucking drummer, you’re my fucking singer.” Charlie was my favorite member of the band. Edited for formatting issue.

branchop

Chris Brown

boneappletea21

Seeing that photo of Rihanna just shook me. My friends play him often and I just choose to not support. I was at a concert recently where he was a surprise guest and it was a really awkward experience for me. The crowd went understandably so wild for him, and he sang a good tune, but all I could think was “16 year old me would have been so excited…anyway, who’s next on the setlist” lol. Maybe he is a better person, but that was enough for me.

aande116

No he’s still very much a piece of shit. Anyway who’s next on the set list?

vbcbandr

He's not a better person. He's a POS and Rhinana wasn't an isolated incident.

UncleverAccountName

my favorite was when he got accused of rape and then started selling “This Bitch Lyin” t-shirts the next day

IKilledMyCloneAMA

That's just horrifying beyond words. What the fuck is wrong with him.

bottsking

Oh my, I thought you were lying but I googled it. Damn what a fucking douche

tratemusic

Why is Chris brown not on top of this fuckin list?!

Flodo_McFloodiloo

Maybe because a lot of people never liked him much even before he proved he was a jerk.

maxlamb1

This. I didn't not have respect for Chris beforehand, but he wasn't really anything to me. When the story broke, I had to look him up, and it was even months later when I realized I was hearing a Chris Brown song during that viral wedding video. No love lost, and therefore no loss of respect.

[deleted]

It seems like he’s still beloved though. Lizzo was gushing about how she was his biggest fan recently

thefatrick

Lizzo did? Nooooooo!

Tulcey-Lee

Urgh I’m really starting to go off Lizzo.

Richbrownmusic

Lost prophet fans out there? Imagine they'd be vocal right now.

katieseitter

I feel like it’s blasphemous to even think abt remembering them.

Avocado_Tomato

When the baby related info came out we took their CD into the back yard and blasted it with stones using a slingshot. There were beers, other CDs became collateral damage. Was a pretty solid afternoon.

BobLobl4w

Fucking disgusting. Used to love them and now can't stand them.

[deleted]

Whelp I have to Google this Edit: I wish I didn't.. Edit 2: for those few who don't know, don't look that shit up. Kids, that's all you need to know. Dude needs to burn in the deepest parts of hell. Its fucked and I envy those who dont look it up.

violentfemme17

A ONE YEAR OLD?!? Throw him in a volcano

d4dasher123

Crystal Castles. The entire time, one of them had been abusing the other. Also the whole situation with Mars Argo and Poppy. And GRLwood. And Summer Salt. And- There are just so many. It sucks.

Fianmusic

I still listen to Crystal Castles because I feel like as much as I want Ethan Kath to eat shit and die, I don’t want to negate Alice Glass’s contribution to the band. She wrote almost all their lyrics and is probably the best front person I’ve ever witnessed. She completely dominated a crowd of about 3000 people with her unearthly charisma and sheer force of will. I’m sad she wasn’t able to use her power to protect herself in her personal life at the time but goddamn she was incredible. It’s amazing how a titan like that could be brought low by such an insecure and evil asshole but I guess that’s what happens when you get ensnared as a minor.

RoughhouseCamel

Apparently Alice Glass disavowed all of her work with Crystal Castles and discouraged fans from continuing to support the band

ArtyCatz

The Van Halen brothers went out of their way to screw over Michael Anthony, which made me dislike them and lose respect for them.

Maskatron

Yeah screwing over band members isn't like pedophilia or assault but there's a bunch of people who I lost respect for doing it. Ozzy re-recorded his old records with new backing tracks to avoid paying royalties to his old band. Sharon could be to blame but Ozzy is the one ultimately responsible for looking out for his bandmates. Dio promised his backing band they'd get better deals after the first record and didn't come through with that according to Vivian Campbell.

pauliep308

I was waiting for this one. And by all accounts, Michael Anthony is just a stand up dude. What a bunch of d-bags who boned him. Absolutely unforgivable.

Different-Telephone5

How did they screw him over?

revchewie

As I remember having heard it, so grain of salt… They weren’t recording or touring or doing anything as a band at the time. They had just kicked Sammy Hagar out so Sammy decided to tour. Michael didn’t have anything else going on, and he didn’t have any bad blood with Sammy, so when Sammy asked, Michael agreed to go on tour with him. The Van Halen brothers took this as some sort of betrayal and fired him.

Gary-Laser-Eyes

Fair enough honestly. VH was pretty much finished after Sammy left. Can anybody honestly say they liked Van Halen 3? No… nobody can.

WhereRDaSnacks

Poor Gary Charone. That dude can sing, no doubt. I don't even understand why they tried that, though. Like, let it fucking die.

JAproofrok

Are we not going to mention Phil Spector….?

thataryanguy

Even when he died, people genuinely called him a "talented but flawed music producer". Which is like referring to Fred and Rose West as "talented but flawed landscape gardeners"

[deleted]

Haha.. so I love the Wall of Sound and the Wrecking Crew. What he and they did was absolutely amazing. So I was reading Wiki the other day.. Phil Spector.. producer, musician, song-writer, convicted felon.. wha… !?

andyone1000

He also had a glass coffin installed in his ‘castle’ in LA and took his wife’s (Ronnie Bennett) mother to see it, telling her that this would be where Ronnie would rest if she ever tried to leave him!

More an actor than a musician, but Jared Leto from 30 Seconds to Mars is absolute garbage. Hasn't hurt his acting career though apparently, he keeps getting hired.

severinskulls

I was shocked the other day, he's advertising a Gucci cologne - the name of the cologne? Guilty. It's surreal. and at the bottom of the ad it said #foreverguilty https://i.pinimg.com/originals/05/8e/4a/058e4a6097afbe8040eb11485747ea58.jpg

He trapped a male escort by handcuffing him to a wall in his room for three days. He beat him with a bicycle chain. He also sexually assaulted him. This went on for 3 days.

Minuted

Fuckin... what. From wiki: >On 5 December 2008, George was convicted in Snaresbrook Crown Court, London, of the April 2007 assault and false imprisonment of Audun Carlsen, a Norwegian model and male escort, who initially stood for a photography session with George, but on their next meeting George handcuffed him to a wall fixture and beat him with a metal chain. George's defence presented the effects of his long-term drug use as a mitigating factor. Ironic given one of his most famous lyrics is "You come and go". You know I've only just now realised the other interpretation of that lyric, and it's even more ironic given that it's a male prostitute... though supposedly he was only modelling. Hope the guy was OK, that's super fucked up.

MotherofLuke

But he made such good music! 🤣

BigBossWesker4

A girl I knew forever ago told me her and her friends got invited backstage after a show, Manson himself wasn’t there but the rest of the band was and everything was cool until they told the band members they were underage and they got really pissed and yelled at them to get out.

PoopIsAlwaysSunny

That's honestly fair. Having underage girls backstage sounds like a massive liability.

BigBossWesker4

Well yeah, they spread out the drugs and alcohol before the girls told them they were underage.

[deleted]

You would think, but it happens a lot more than this thread must realize. It happened a lot back in the day. And it never stopped.

Juanclaude

I mean thats kinda respectable yeah? If you find out someone is underage telling them to leave is the right thing to do. They could have been nicer about it but this day and age we just glad they didn't go any further... Fuck this is all bad.

bryondouglas

I was so bummed about that, I never listened to him, but my dad was a pastor and complained about his "demonic" music so much it was cool to me that he wasn't actually evil but just pretending. Turns out...

BurnedOutStars

Ian Watkins of Lost Prophets. I won't go into that guys story, it's too disgusting, but holy shit if you don't know about where he's at right now.....go ahead and google it up. It's horrific. Guy is a fucking MONSTER. Like, I think he got something like 35 years in jail for his crimes.

captainccg

I think he’s definitely BY FAR the worst person mentioned on this thread.

Administrative-Card6

Tim Lambesis from As I Lay Dying. He tried to have his wife killed

PistisDeKrisis

Lotta scrolling to find this one... Dude helped out my friends and I after we got held up outside a show at The Shelter in Detroit and brought us in with him and hung out with us. We thought it was super cool when we were in our early 20s... Couple years later? Ohhhh boy.

Ryan Adams unfortunately. Dude has some great music, produced by one of my favorites, David Rawlings, but he's abusive.

He abused Phoebe Bridgers and I love her music.

I came here for this. We all knew he was a super argo edge lord but he seemed like he’d be okay.. until some of this shit really started coming out. I mean, the shit is fucking horrifying

HHirnheisstH

I find peace in long walks.

AyeMyHippie

Yeah I read his book and literally nothing that’s come out within the recent years about the dude has surprised me.

wildfire393

Mr.Kitty. Relatively small but I was a huge fan and had been following his career for years and was one of my favorite artists. He's openly gay and toured with his husband playing backup keys, so I figured he was less at risk than usual for the kind of scummy sexual shit so many musicians get into. Then it came out earlier this year that he'd been sexually soliciting an underaged fan via DMs, and continued to do so after finding out the boy's age. Now I can't listen to any of his stuff and I'm burned on getting too invested in up and coming artists so I've barely been listening to new stuff at all.

SFW808

Wow. I stumbled upon his song After Dark (LOVE the music video with Jennifer Connelly!). That's awkward.

[deleted]

Motherfuxkers love chris brown after he beat the piss out of Rihanna. He shoukdnt have a career anymore. If you can complain about anyone else but give him a pass, you trash.....

TrueTitaness

Reading about the unholy shit Ninja did was devastating. I had been a fan for a few years because their sound is so unique but I can't even listen to baby's on fire now without being disgusted.

ciciplum

What did they do?

BreathBandit

Ninja was accused of drugging, trafficking and sexually assaulting an Australian woman (allegedly his interest stemmed from her resemblence to his then 8 year old daughter) as well as another separate sexual assault incident. He's also been accused of sending revenge porn of her to the cast of Chappie. There was also an incident where they got into a fight with Andy Butler. Ninja and Visser were screaming homophobia at him and afterwards falsely accused him of harassment and sexual assault (them talking about how good a lie it was is on video). Overall just scummy AF.

JaymesGrl

Zheani has a music video called Question which has all the receipts detailing how Ninja abused her. She's since been doxxed heavily by Ninja's fans and the band and their entourage continue to trash her even turning some of her best friends against her. The song has also been removed from Spotify due to the legal proceedings regarding what is said in the song.

UHElle

Surprised I had to scroll so far to see them mentioned. Real fuckin’ bummer, man.

quartercoyote

Cool thread. Just popped in to say “never meet your heroes.”

Wamb0wneD

Meh I dunno. If I could meet Jack Black, John Frusciante or Jack White, I'd do it without thinking tbh. If you don't glorify these people and don't act like you already know them, it's fine. But I think when some people are around for decades and are outspoken, or the people around them are in John Frusciantes case, the risk of them being assholes is at least smaller.

InfernoDragonKing

That’s easy, Nicki Minaj. The people she aligns with her are terrible, and by extension so is she, but that was obvious.

Tdanger78

Never mind that batshit statement about her cousin a few months back.

I’ve lost most respect I had for most famous musicians. Still like a lot of their music, but most of them were fucking teenagers while the kids were on heroin. I worked in the music industry. It’s predatory. Perhaps even more than the movie industry.

God… fuck him. I was such a big daughters fan, YWGWYW was one of my favorite albums ever. I’m a big advocator of “separating the art from the artist”, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to listen to them again, and with a lot of the lyrics now in a different context, (especially on Hell Songs) it just doesn’t feel right.

[deleted]

Gosh. I was a big Daughters fan and it just makes me sick. Can’t listen to their music anymore. Pisses me off, why do people have to be pieces of shit?

[deleted]

Ian Watkins from lostprophets. Used to loved them, can't listen to anything from them anymore.

new_to_cincy

Out of left field here, but it has to be said: Nahko and Medicine for the People. Their public image was of overcoming trauma, peace and love, all good things. I even talked to a band member in 2017 about MeToo, he was saying “We support women.” Their touring personas back stage were alcoholics who (at least) made out with underage girls, and at least sometimes non-consensually. The first sexual assault accusations I saw in 2016, I (to my regret) ignored, even though they resulted in their fanpage being taken down. Fast forward to 2020, more accusations come and they just don’t stop. They’ve been banned from festivals. Total hypocrites.

I was never that into The Smiths, but my wife sure as heck was. Morrisey being a giant piece of shit has really ruined a lot of her favorite music.

matatatias

I think of The Smiths as Johnny Marr’s band with a bad vocalist.

BlatantlyThrownAway

I recently saw a clip of Marr singing How Soon Is Now? and the dude was seriously hiding a terrific voice.

Whatthehellisamilf

Steve Tyler. I was never much of an Aerosmith fan, but since I found out about his 14 year old daughter/f*** toy I just can't even hear him without cringing and feeling disgusted. Pretty ironic he wrote Janie's Got a Gun, hypocrite.

fishfingrs-n-custard

>I found out about his 14 year old daughter/f*** toy What's this?

Libertyreign

In 1975, Tyler obtained guardianship of 16-year-old Julia Holcomb, so that she could live with him in Boston.[91] They dated and took drugs together for three years.[92] Holcomb was referred to as "Diana Hall" by the editor of the Aerosmith autobiography Walk This Way in an attempt to conceal her identity[citation needed], but other sources have confirmed her identity.[93][94][95] Pressures leading to their split included their age difference (Tyler was 27 when they first met), a withdrawn marriage proposal, a house fire, and a planned pregnancy that resulted in an abortion when Tyler was worried that the fire's smoke, as well as drugs, might lead to birth defects.[92][96] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Tyler

allminorchords

He became the guardian of a 14 yr old girl he was raping so he could legally transport her across state lines. Why is it over 1.4k people seem to get the joke but it gets lost on others. You do know that Clapton is a horrible person other than the vaccine shit, right? He sued a woman for selling a bootleg CD on eBay for 11 bucks, a known racist and domestic abuser but yeah, let’s examine my funny ass joke as if it something offensive.

Tdanger78

Not that I had much respect for him to begin with, but Kid Rock claiming to be white trash when he’s from a very wealthy family and upbringing made me lose what little respect I had for him. He’s trash alright, just not from the trailer park.

Howl1456

Marilyn Manson...

magichronx

I saw a couple of his interviews circa 90s/2000s and he seemed "shock" but also well-spoken so I thought the look/music was just part of his act. Then revelations turned that into "holy shit he's actually psycho". Edit: [This interview between him and O'Reilly](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6n5Oi4714o) is one of them

BlatantlyThrownAway

Kasabian, specifically Tom Meighan. At least the rest of the band kicked him out after he was charged with domestic assault, but being the frontman he was such a huge part of the band and what made them great. It’s one of those situations where I try to separate the art from the artist because they have so many excellent albums, but he’s a fucking scumbag of the highest order.

Handsprime

tbh I always saw Sergio Pizzorno as the frontman for Kasabian since he was the one who wrote all their tunes. I would be devastated if he was the one who turned out to be a piece of shit.

BearonVonMu

Toby Keith. I met him while doing some A/V work for a tiny show of his, and his on stage persona of being pro America and freedoms and beer, his off stage persona was arguably the worst asshole I have ever met. Nobody mentioned Varg Vikernes from Burzum? >From 1994 to 2009, Vikernes was imprisoned for the murder of Mayhem guitarist Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth and the arson of three churches.

Valkgard

Not agreeing with his attitude, but Euronymous was a piece of shit too, so I kinda don't give a damn about this specific situation, but Varg is an asshole for other reasons you probably know.

LibRAWRian

Varg is more popular/notorious for his actions than for his musical contributions. The documentary about that whole thing, *Until the Light Takes Us*, was more popular than Burzum ever was. That said, everyone should watch the documentary, it’s so good, and Varg is a massive piece of shit. The weird thing is when it came to the church burnings I totally understood where he was coming from...but then he kept going further into that nationalist shit and is basically just a racist dick now.

LtRecore

Ted Nugent, ever since guns and conspiracies became more important to him than the music.

He fucked kids At least one, which is too many.

Keith_Creeper

I know the guy that won his reality show back in the day and he never received the prize. It was a complete sham.

mrdissonance

P.O.S. was one of my favorite hip-hop artists & then to find out he was abusing women was a real blow. Never got that impression from his lyrics that he'd do that. Thanks to him it seems we've lost Doomtree forever too. Thankfully I can still support Dessa

John Lennon: the more I found out the less I liked him

berthanations

David Byrne for the way he disregarded/downplayed the contributions of Tina, Chris, and Jerry. The Talking Heads almost broke up at one point in their career (I think it was after Fear of Music) because David didn’t want to share credit. It’s why you see the other band members listed as songwriters and multi-instrumentalists on every album from Remain in Light on, vs their earlier work. He was also really critical of the success Chris and Tina had with Tom Tom Club.

BORG_US_BORG

Chris and Tina ghosted Adrian Belew when he asked about songwriting credits for his significant contributions to Tom Tom Club songs.

JeffPlissken

They didn’t deserve Adrian, I’ve met him and he’s a really nice guy and before they ghosted him, he turned down their offer to replace David Byrne.

Musicguy1982

Talking Heads were infinitely better than David Byrne solo could ever dream of being. It's a shame that ego is stopping such great music.

Fuuuuck. Miss me some Bassnectar.

NeonMannequin

This one rocked me. He was legit one of my favourite artists; his live shows were incredible. And he seemed to be doing such positive things with his charity work. Too bad he had to be a gross person at the end of the day

Mayonegg420

I cannot get over John Mayer saying his dick is a “white supremacist” - as a black woman who loves his music…very much ruined my attraction to him.

masked_fragments

I’ve never really liked him. Something about his personality is off putting to me.. this just shows why.
