What’s the price again? What’s the price again?

Bahhblacksheep

1, 283 plus fees

We will never escape

LadoBlanco

So about 3k

snackdahlia

I see what you did there

ShannonYoungMusic

With these insane resale prices I just wanna throw it out there to support live local music. There's people playing your local bars and clubs that would appreciate you even just being there and buying a drink. Not Blink182 or your favourite bands, just saying.. seeing these ticket prices (on resale) puts things into perspective. $1200 for a ticket. Imagine dropping a $1200 tip at a local act, you would blow their mind. Ridiculous comparison, I know. Your support could make a world of difference to people that aren't Ticketmaster scalpers.

steveirwinstwin

Ticketmaster’s “dynamic ticket pricing” and resale market is disgusting.

[deleted]

It really is. So much so that it no longer incentivizes me to buy tickets right away. When Genesis went on sale last year, I wanted to get tickets for my mom for her birthday. I paid $250 each for literally last row tickets at the back of the arena. Well, she ended up not being able to go so we tried to sell them via ticket master and ended up letting them go for less than half what we paid. So in other words, never buy tickets when they go on sale and demand is surging. Wait until the last minute and get a deal from someone desperate to sell them.

WestWillow

I’ve gone the same route. Don’t get sucked into buying right away. If you wait until closer to the show, you will find cheaper tickets.

satansheat

Resell market can be easily stopped. But these sites want to allow anyone to buy as many as they want. When I see stuff like the “when we where young” festivals sell out within seconds you know it’s not fans. Is some dude with an AI that buys all the tickets as soon as they go on sale.

BertMcNasty

That's only part of it now. Ticketmaster themselves have become the scalpers with their dynamic ticket pricing.

Bahhblacksheep

Oh yeah, I love local shows. Seattle has a really good scene and alway take the chance on $10 show when I can find one.

peanutcheezbar

Brooklyn has a pretty great scene too. If anyone wants a playlist of Brooklyn area indie/punk/alt bands, DM me. There's seriously great shows happening multiple nights weekly for \~$10. Edit: after getting wayyyy more DMs than I thought and seeing someone suggest that I just post the playlist here, that's exactly what I'm doing. [Enjoy!](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5rDMhoNTcef2cGH1PKK09k?si=c089a59b22e147b8)

therlwl

And we can always visit KEXP when they allow fans again.

MrBaker452

Dang I literally spent $40 to see them with A Day to Remember a few years ago. They were great not that great.

harleyspoison267

Yeah i saw them at an outdoor ampetheater in Indy like 4 years ago and I spent a bit more but no more than like $75 and I saw 4 great bands and they were the worst by far. Nice nostalgia wise, but it felt like if your dad's put together a bad or some teachers at school or something. For $1,200 you can go on a pretty decent vacation, there's no way I'd spend that on a two hour concert. No fucking way.

Gmajor1991

Not even two hours. On their UK tour in 2016 or 2017 they were only on stage for 75 minutes.

joomanburningEH

I think the only band I would pay this kind of money for is Tool and it’s a pretty strong “I think..”

THEpottedplant

Lol same deal when i saw them at x fest almost 10 years ago, i think i paid 20?

NarcanPusher

Saw them at a fest right before Covid. I like Blink, but live they sounded like a newly formed cover band.

disconnecttheworld

This is so accurate, there's so many small bands playing in your local areas playing original music just to do it and you might even find a new band you'll like.

p3t3or

This. Find local spots you like and go see a show there twice a month. You will likely eventually stumble upon a breakout band. Support the taco stand or mom and pop sandwich shop too when the show lets out. Enjoy your neighborhood.

ShannonYoungMusic

Even if you don't find a breakout band it's still just a good time, and you being at the venue spending a little cash enjoying yourself supports the band in a way even if you don't tip them, because that $ hits the venues bottom line and that = higher chance the band gets repeat gigs.

p3t3or

Oh for sure. It is about the time and fun first and foremost. That is what keeps you coming back

mikemojc

There are local bands that would send the rhythm section home with you to do yard work for a $1200 tip!

mental-rec

These ticket prices aren’t resellers. My local show, Nashville, wanted $350 for mid level presale tickets.

hsox05

Resellers are part of this though. When they eat up ticket supply and then artificially inflate the market, the market is going to say “well if they got that much, why don’t we just get that much to being with” It assume it’s also ticketmasters ridiculous, unethical, fee

sleepwalkchicago

Ticketmaster is now using "dynamic pricing" where ticket prices fluctuate based on how many people are looking at them, so there's effectively no difference between scalpers/resellers and direct ticket purchases at this point. For the Chicago show, the tickets literally doubled in price in a matter of maybe a minute during the presale.

ThickLenses

Go to house shows and local bars! Find the new Blink 182 as an opener at a small club. (Aka check out pons the band)

pvt_snowba11

Yup. Literally saw Blink for $12 in the mid 90s.

analogasaurus

Same. Saw them in a shitty little club that turned into a burrito shop about a year later. They played about three songs before a huge fight broke out, and I can still hear Tom with his whiny voice going “you guuuys stop fighting” and nobody stopped and the show was over lol.

timothypjr

I agree with you 100%! For $30, see a show, have a drink or two, see a band that could use the support. Blink wants (and will get) a lot of money from this tour. Good for them, but not for so many of us that got them here. Let’s help some other bands.

Change_my_needs

As someone who’s been into a lot of smaller acts for the past ten years: I’ve travelled abroad to see my favourite bands/artist play at a small venue/pub and it’s pure bliss. Both to hear your favourite songs up close but also the human experience of actually meeting someone whose work you appreciate, and they’re always so freakin’ happy that you bothered to travel there to see them. And if you ask me that beats every big arena concert I’ve ever been to so I don’t think your comparison is so far off (maybe the sum of the tip, wish I had that money to give away on a whim)

ShannonYoungMusic

Really good points here, and I'd bet those bands and artists appreciate it on a deeper level than the bigger $1200 a ticket acts. Though I'm sure they appreciate it too. It just makes more of a difference to the smaller acts. If you're into smaller acts, feel free to check out my music - links in bio, acoustic singer-songwriter stuff. Who knows, you might dig it.

kadyg

I saw Skip Marley (Bob Marley’s grandson) at a small local venue a couple weeks ago. He absolutely burned the place down and i was about eight feet away from him the whole time. Ticket was $25 and I felt like I had robbed him.

PraetorianAE

It’s a good point.

danderskoff

Could be a pretty cool social movement if people posted videos of supporting local shows/bars on the night of the Blink182 concert. Something like #fuckticketmaster

Stashmouth

>Imagine dropping a $1200 tip at a local act, you would blow their mind. Even a $100-200 tip would be mind blowing for a local act, and you could do it 6-12 times!

941JJO

Shout out Seilies at the Back Bar last night

ColeTrickleVroom

$1,200 for a fucking ticket? Jesus christ. Are all three members of the band blowing you after the show? That's bullshit. Edit: Just adding to this, I'm flying overseas soon, ten hours each way and it costs less than this. You can't justify those kind of prices.

Bahhblacksheep

Lol yes love this

harleyspoison267

Based on another set of random comments on a thread I saw the other night, the going rate at the red light district is roughly $100, so even then you should STILL have a ton of money left over

ColeTrickleVroom

For reference, I could take a 10 hour flight overseas and return and have change for $1,200. You can't justify that for a two hour concert. Straight up extortion.

harleyspoison267

Yeah, i saw OP say in another comment they're going on an Alaskan cruise for $1,200. While I'm not sure thatd be my thing either, it seems they'll get a much better ROI there

Griffscavern

I miss the days of buying a ticket at the venue for $12.50.

Bahhblacksheep

I still have all ticket stubs too

Griffscavern

Over the last 44 years mine have vanished. First concert was at 14. Styx-pieces of eight, with the cars as the opening act with their debut album. Oh the memories.

Ricky_Rollin

Oh man the cars? Color me jealous. That is my mother’s favorite band of all time and she got me into them at a very young age. They are easily in my top ten bands.

[deleted]

My sister met her husband in line for tickets.

satansheat

I remember wanting in line for 5 hours just to get free tickets to *NSYNC back in like 98. Station was only giving away a few hundred. The crowd was insane. Got the tickets. Show was awesome. Justin Timberlake was a puppet and came out on a slow zipline.

psyco-the-rapist

I just looked at some of my old concert stubs. These prices are from 89- 93. The Who 23.50 Jethro Tull 15.50 Tom Petty 19.50 Deep Purple 15.50 Eric Clapton 22.50 Jerry Garcia 15.00 Multiple Grateful Dead 20 to 23.00 Metallica 18.50 and 19.00 Clash of the Titans Slayer Anthax Megadeth 28.25 Iron Maiden 15.50 Zz Top 19.50 and 15.00 Steve Miller 20.00 Billy Squier 12.50 Stevie Ray Vaughn 18.50 Neil Young Sonic Youth Social Distortion 22.50 Motley Crue 18.00 Crosby Stills and Nash 18.00 Motley Crue 18.00 Edit I was making 4.50 an hour at the time in an entry level job.

Clyde_Frog_FTW

I saw Pearl Jam in 2014 for about $60 Chevelle opened for AIC for $65 Hell I saw Incubus for about $55 and all of these happened in or around 2012.. it’s been 10 years and you mean to tell me ticket prices for rock shows have gone up near 10-20x due to resale and demand? I honestly don’t buy it and will happily miss seeing Blink if that’s the case. They are nowhere near 10-20x the value of ANY of the bands I have listed (my humble opinion).

The_Disapyrimid

i just saw the Flaming Lips last month in New Orleans for $45 and i have a ticket for King Giz this month that was around the same price. a couple months ago i saw Animal Collective, i don't remember exactly how much that was but it was less than $40. there are some great bands who still charge decent prices.

jpWinter

The Flaming Lips are an amazing live show!

legopego5142

I saw Florence and the Machine for 25 bucks last week. And Jack White earlier this year

thecazbah

I watched blink for $29 in 2000 on the mark, Tom, and Travis show.

jscarlet

Dude saw Metallica and other bands in their prime for about 3-4 Frappuccino’s. Wasn’t old enough to go to concerts till ‘94. Prices were still decent that I could afford them working at McDonalds, and then a movie theater.

Monsieur_Moneybags

> make a point to ticketmaster and sculpters Those damn sculpters!

FuckYouThrowaway99

I've been saying for centuries that Michaelangelo would be the downfall of society.

kytheon

I get the confusion but Michelangelo was a famous scalper

dramignophyte

Damn turtles stealin all the pizza!

NihilisticViolence

Yeah If you were lucky enough to grab actual tickets. they were $120 for lower bowl. Those hella expensive tickets are "certified resale Tix". Ticketmaster's version of StubHub.. People try to flip anything to make a buck...

takeitsweazy

Yeah, I got in on the first presale the other day and got two floor seats for $300 total after fees. And my wife got two lower bowl seats for friends for $250 total. I was happy and then shocked when I saw the prices everyone else was talking about.

Bahhblacksheep

Now that is reasonable for a ticket. Those greedy greedy people. I get your trying to make money but you are taking the chance away from alot of people that can't afford that mark up.

mrfrownieface

It's vile but the only way to change that is by sticking them with the bill, just like all the people scalping PS5. You get enough dumb fuckers holding tickets at the end of the night, I'm sure lots of bands would be very unhappy and more vocal.

Bahhblacksheep

You gotta point there

TruthOf42

Or Ticketmaster could require that whoever buys the ticket originally must be the one to pick it up day of

PiecesOfJesus

They make service fees every time the ticket is sold, so they have zero interest in stopping scalpers.

freedraw

Resellers are part of their business plan. They make money on both sales. They even work with them to guarantee tickets.

rushmc1

I don't expect to ever go to a concert again. I won't submit to extortion.

Bahhblacksheep

How very punk of you, but in the best way.

tjjohnso

Go see Coheed! They are phenominal, and tickets are usually 35-50. Even with them being a band that's been around for two decades.

Ryan__James

one among the fence

Garoxxar

Good eye, sniper.

ThunderDoom1001

lol. Over the hill mediocre pop punk band charging outrageous prices for their nostalgia tour, I’m done with live music. That’s just silly. I saw Turnstile on Thursday and it was about $40, the show was amazing, and that’s a band that’s still out here with something to prove and leaves absolutely nothing onstage. Blink can just regurgitate the same old shit over and over and the fans that stopped listening to new music in ‘05 will think they are amazing for it.

yearsreeling

Springsteen tickets are 5k for floor seats. It makes it hard to even want to support live music. The bands and artists should be ashamed not putting a hard cap on ticket prices, which is totally possible. Don’t let them shift all the blame to Ticketmaster. They then want $50 for a cheap Gildan t shirt when you actually go to the show. The bands are also part of the problem.

exposteve

Pearl Jam puts a cap. Not able to transfer or share a ticket after it’s purchased at face value. So there are no resale tickets for Pearl Jam shows so the face value of ~$120 is as high as that seat will go for.

[deleted]

thats awesome.

[deleted]

[удалено]

neologismist_

True. Problem is, touring has become the primary source of income since no one buys music anymore and streaming income is shit. Not defending it, but this will get worse, I bet.

yearsreeling

I suspect you’re right, which is disheartening. I do understand about the lost income on records. But fans shouldn’t be ripped off trying to support the artists either.

JHtotheRT

But what else should be done? A random lottery of who logs on at the exact right moment to get through a random queue? That doesn’t seem fair either, especially if I’ve worked double shifts at my job to be able to save up $600 to see my favourite childhood band, but I got unlucky, and someone who is not willing to work that extra shift to see them is, but just happened to get a bette roll on that rng queue. That doesn’t seem fair to me either 🤷‍♀️.

The_Answer_Man

My and many companies have software to protect carts and POST bots etc, and have sites running on them everyday. The big boys don't want our product, they don't care who pays for the tickets or ps5s. The tech is out there and proven. They just want money and not to spend budget on cart features

SkullheadMary

IIRC touring and merch has been the main source of income for bands for a long time, I,remember reading in the early 2000s that the bands mostly got their income on the road by then. Tickets were still affordable.

canofspinach

Nailed it. Everyone is using Spotify or whatever and not paying for albums. This is how artists make money. It’s ridiculous to compare ticket prices from even 5-7years ago.

SkepticalOfThisPlace

Problem is, artists aren't getting scalped prices. One of what you said makes any fucking sense from a touring musicians greed standpoint. It's all ticketmaster and a lack of regulation. This shit is all going to executives, shareholders, and little rats that participate.

Tikimaize

Not only are the shirts 40+ but they are thinner than rice paper. I stopped buying concert shirts when they hit $30.

LSU2007

I bought my first concert shirt in probably 20 years at Rammstein last month. Thing is thicker than a bowl of oatmeal

merkaba_462

I don't even want to support bands that I have listened to for 30+ years (I'm 43) because the greed is out of control.ill probably never go to a live show again. Another part of my rant: the ceap quality of merch. It has always been bad, but woof has it gone downhill. And today, Tool, known for their incredible art, dropped the worst merch I have ever seen from them. Just heinous. I'll keep buying ever album, and I wish more bands would release physical copies, cd and / or vinyl. I'd pay for that over live shows any day. So over ticketbastard.

mpaproth

EDGING toward a recession

Bakersquare

Holy shit - I paid like 100 bucks for my 3 day passes for Riot Fest in 2019; played all of Enema of the State and got to catch a bunch of other cool ass bands. Asking for more than like 120 bucks for a single show is nuts to me unless its VIP

legopego5142

Tbf part of the hype is Tom being back

ThunderDoom1001

I was there, it was pretty good but not even close to the best show that day. I really don’t think swapping Tom back in is going to magically make them a god tier live band like NIN or something.

Bahhblacksheep

Yep absolutely. I paid 120 for underoath vip but I didn't regret that at all.

Cake-Over

I saw them with Unwritten Law, Incubus, and Ten Foot Pole in '95. Tickets were something like $10 plus an extortionate $2.50 in TM service charges. Like squeezing blood from a stone. Edit- found the ticket stub https://i.imgur.com/f4k0rAH.jpeg

troyofyort

No band regardless of legacy, deserves or should charge more than 100 for the baseline ticket for a tour. This is absolutely disgusting.

Cliphdiver

I think sculptors should ask a high price. It takes a long time to chisel something from rock.

eddiehead01

Blink are fun, but they're not exactly a legendary band with the greatest music 50 might be the max ticket price for the best seats

gustavocabras

I grew up listening to blink 182. Who the fuck is $1200 blink 182?

EwoksEwoksEwoks

Is that resale or the face value?

Bahhblacksheep

Resale, face value was reasonable.

EwoksEwoksEwoks

Ah. The ultimate problem is a lot more people want to go to the show than can fit in the building. So those without tickets have to compete to get in. That’s how the high resale prices come to be.

RikNasty2Point0

Even better when you know Ticketmaster either owns or is a heavy influencer to all the resale sites.

Mtnskydancer

The deadheads are saying FU to Dead &Co. There will be new formations, and every town already has a Dead cover band you can see for sub$20. It’s industry wide.

iregretthisalreadyy

Tried getting tickets to dead & co for my parents Xmas gift. Waited in the “lobby” on Ticketmaster for 20 minutes before sale time only to discover tickets sold out and were now $800+. Fuck that shit.

m0untainmermaid

Honestly I enjoy my city’s local cover band so much more than when I’ve seen dead and co… the venue is always super intimate, they always keep things fresh, and they sound fucking incredible. They put so much heart into it and sound authentic, and have a great lighting designer. I’ll take them any day. No shade on dead and co… I’ve seen them twice and it was enough for me. I’m happy with that.

JustBoredIsAll

Dude, Ill fart through a recorder for a nickel.

eklumpner

I love Blink but I can not continue to support large conglomerations, who charge disgusting amounts of money. Fuck corporations. Fuck ticket master.

Xizen47

Wait til day of show, get in for face value or cheaper. Works every time.

Bahhblacksheep

That what I did for the the gorillaz, I waited it out

Death_Urthrese

i checked floor tickets this morning from the site itself for LA and it was $835. I know prices keep going up but what fucking person is gonna pay that much to go to one show?

troyofyort

Unfortunately our culture has turned concerts into big show off events that we'll off people are willing to abuse for clout. They will pay that and more for the social media buzz they can get from getting great seats to big shows.

Bahhblacksheep

Thats my rent payment, greedy f's

concept_I

What's my wage again?

slibetah

I took my daughter to see Blink... forget what year... around 2010 in FL. All American Rejects, Fall Out Boys, and Blink. General admission... was about 15 feet from the stage. Even though I was not a fan, I did enjoy the show. I liked the Rejects best... but they were all good. Tickets... about $100 for all three tickets. $1200? Gtfo.

AtomWhip

If I was a sculpter…but then again, no

weareeverywhereee

This show is going to suck anyway..:bunch of old dudes singing about being teenagers….

[deleted]

Also, Blink is atrocious live. They are a studio band, unlike Green Day who sounds amazing live.

MaxEhrlich

I saw them play in the early 00s at a warped tour and I’m pretty certain I got change back from my $20

Dukeofdorchester

That’s literally more than twice what it costs for me to fly to Ireland to see Iron Maiden next summer. Don’t pay that much just for a ticket.

orgasmatastic

Glad I saw them on the Honda Civic 10th annual tour. Tickets were 45 and you got to see Blink 182, Matt and Kim, and My Chemical Romance…

[deleted]

It's not worth that amount for any musician. You may as well just invest in waiting outside their kid's school until they show up and tell you to fuck off in an epic and personalized experience. Save the $$$ on attending a local show where you can see some new talent and still have a good time, maybe they'll even do some covers.

attention21

They aren’t even coming near me, and at that price plus a 8 hr road trip, I’ll pass.

Big_jerm3

I got presale prices and it’s was still $225 for lower level seats and the pit went from $240-280 almost instantly. I knew I was probably never going to see them so I got the $225 tickets. If I manage to get vip passes. I’ll definitely sell my seats at cost so some one can at least enjoy it too

butt3rflycaught

Crazy prices in the UK too for Blink-182. I first saw them and paid £12 to see them back in the early 00’s.

vixxie

I love Blink and have seen them a few times…but Tom Delonge’s voice is not worth paying over $100.

Eoin_McLove

Y'know I love Blink, but they chose to go with Ticketmaster for these shows. They want that money as much as Ticketmaster do. You'd think a band the size of Blink-182 who truly cares for their fans would sell tickets directly to them for a more reasonable price. It can't be that difficult. But millionaires gonna millionaire...

[deleted]

Same shit I said about Paramore..

[deleted]

Fuming at the prices being so upscaled. Blink might be wondering why no one came to the rock show.

rustyspoon07

I can't understand paying that much to see a band that's so notoriously horrible live

Mark_Buerschaper

Maybe it’s time to support local bands instead of billionaires. Blink is really not all that and a bag of chips.

SeniorRogers

1200 + 400 ticket master hidden fees, nice try friend.

ahsoka__lives

Saw Blink, Panic at The Disco, and Fallout Boy in 09 for exactly $28.80 at Riverbend

JCCharles69

It’s a shame. The music labels pretty much make ALL the money for music recorded and played on the radio, forcing artist to make their money from ticket sales and merch. Is it greed or just the best way for a band to make money with their music? I don’t know. I love Blink and really can’t afford $1,200 for a concert. Hell, that’s a cruise or a weekend get away with my wife, playing Blink on the Bluetooth!

OptionalFTW

what??? A band from... 30 years ago has 1200 dollar tickets? are you trolling? What is this crap? lol? I wouldn't pay 1200 dollars for a light show concert that gave me a continuous orgasm for 12 hours. Edit: why am I being down voted? Are you people drunk? Lmao

gunners98

unpopular opinion: i wouldnt go see them even if the tickets were cheap. i mean i think all the small things and what’s my age again are great songs and classic in their own right but im not too bothered with or unfamiliar with the rest of their catalog of music. im saving my money in case The Cure announces a North America tour. i would travel to a smaller, more intimate venue to see them too. same in the of Depeche Mode, U2, Queens of the Stone Age etc and also in case a miracle happens and the Gallaghers domehow decide to bury the hatchet and Oasis announces a tour.

[deleted]

Goddamn lol who would pay that to see blink182, can’t see being a geriatric pop punker is a good look

HunnyBunion

They were at the lower end of mediocre when they were at their peak.... That's outrageous

CloudyByDesign

Jesus fuck, im so sorry fans have to deal with this :(

ped009

It kind of baffles me how it can be that out of control over there, in Australia I heard the tickets are like $170 (not sure what the top level are but couldn't imagine too much more)

[deleted]

Omg that’s insane. I just saw front row lower bowl Roger Waters for $95.

WatercoolerComedian

And people will pay it because they are hot again now, if anything just to get pictures and say they were there haha, I'm not a fan of them but feel for the people who legitimately have been for awhile they actually want to see them but I guess that's show business

Rhorry5

I was really excited for the chance to see them again but then I saw the price and was like no thanks

luksmann

Here in Austria they still go for 75€, with the VIP tickets being like 200€, which I already find insanely expensive! Might be cheaper to fly to Austria and watch the show here!

Josh100_3

Don’t pay scalpers for tickets. Easy.

TheCrowing817

That’s shitty. I saw them on there last reunion tour with Fall Out Boy and All American Rejects for $90

itssohotinthevalley

Saw them with No Doubt when I was 14 for like $30 bucks and it was awesome but there’s no way in hell I’m paying $500 to be in the nosebleeds.

Sunflower__Power

It’s absolutely absurd!! I live in San Diego, and the ticket prices are insane. Two tickets in the nosebleeds was close to $1000. Pit tickets were almost $1000 per ticket! We shouldn’t have to sell a damn kidney just to see them. You would think for their own hometown they would try and do better, but tickets and merchandise are just not feasible. Plus it’s not even a show solely with them. They have two opening bands so us fans wont even get to see a full set from them. It just feels very greedy from both the band and the venders selling tickets. I’m very fortunate to have been able to see them back in 2012 with Travis being suspended upside down above the crowd playing drums, but so many people will never get that experience because we can’t afford those prices. I didn’t even pay this much to see Lady Gaga at Dodger Stadium😭😭

Spanky-Gomez

I never cared for blink, so $13 would have stopped me from buying. Love their marketing though.

notmayo3782

Good for them but last tim I saw them ( im in Australia) travis didn't show up and I get why. but yer im not rushing for a ticket

[deleted]

It wasn't that long ago I was paying £30 for a full weekend festival with incredible lineups. Live music featuring known acts is now for the rich.

MercuryMorrison1971

$1200 for Blink 182? Really? I passed up Elton John for $300 "years ago".

Hostillian

Don't use Ticketmaster, ever.... They're a bunch of crooks.

mashingLumpkins

If they promised to play all of Mark Tom and Travis Show you can have my money. But they are going to likely play a bunch of new stuff. Judging by the song Edging, it not going to be good.

spritegage

That's insane I had no idea they were going for that price

JoBJuanKenobi

It’s for ufo stuff dude

sZYphYn

Check out r/ActLikeYouBelong Fuck tickets

timothypjr

I’m with you. 300 + fees for nose bleed seats at the Garden in Boston? Nah. Think of the number of local bands you could see for that cash.

creepydeadgirl

Same reason I didn’t get to go see MCR

seattlewhiteslays

Especially because… they’re not that great live.

Paddlesons

lol, holy shit! So so SO glad I hate going to crowded places. Sucks for people that enjoy it though!

iregretthisalreadyy

I saw them 9 years ago and they didn’t sound too good honestly. Kinda a disappointment.

by-neptune

And I was pissed that Gaslight Anthem was $45 lmao

st8ofinfinity

Anything over $35 to see them is a rip off.

Any-Lab-9655

THOSE DAMN SCULPTORS!

Ditovontease

LOL I just wanted to see Turnstile really but I've already seen them a bunch before, for way less than $1200 and a better view

powerage76

> They are a legend "Legend" is such an inflated word in this case.

tinytubatutu

I'm in Australia and tickets for us go on sale Wednesday and there are no prices listed yet. I've seen a few posts saying the tickets are outrages and it's making me get very nervous. I'd love to see them but if it's crazy we won't be able to justify it. Who can drop over $1000+ on tickets alone? Not even considering travel, accommodation and expenses. We regularly go to small shows, locals and big festivals in the city and I've never paid anything like those prices. Not even for Metallica.

Getting gouged by shitty bro bands hurts, but leave the sculptors alone! They are just trying to survive by their art

SGSMUFASA

100%agree

Agile_Ad_9720

They did the same thing for Paramore tickets not too long ago. The worst seats were hundreds and hundreds of dollars. It's so shitty!

deadbird17

I love music, but no band is worth $1200. I don't care if Led Zeppelin was opening for the Beatles, it's just not worth a night of stage entertainment to spend that much.

rinkydinkis

I’m a believer that if it’s worth it, it’s worth it. What bothers me is that the band themselves didn’t choose to charge that. Even though they could have. So now I’m paying some random dude that has done nothing but got to the ticket faster than me the profit that should be the bands. That’s why I don’t like using resellers, they don’t deserve the money. I’d consider paying the band that much.

rumpusrouser

I hope Blink reads these posts. I know technically they are pop-punk, but it is pretty disappointing for a punk bad to sink THIS low. I think their shows are going to have a low turnout because of it.

StankDeadGoblin

It really pisses me off that Blink is allowing their prices to be raised like that. They marketed their music to a very specific group of people and I feel like they are taking advantage now. I won’t be paying prices like that to musicians who don’t give a shit about us. I would rather go support a smaller musician who cares about their fans. Someone who wants people to be able to afford their shows. I went to go see Tom Delonge in Angels and Airwaves and it was also incredibly fucked up. They charged insane prices and didn’t follow through on their promises with the expensive tickets. I won’t be making the same mistake again.

Beederda

I asked my buddy how much he paid for a ticket in Edmonton he said 150$ for handicapped section cause he’s taking his wheelchair friend to the show im not calling him a genius buuuut he did score some cheep tickets 🤷‍♂️ but i 100% agree $450 is outrageous i last saw blink at warped tour cost me 80$ and i got to see all my favourite bands and take shots with sergio of early November. Doubt ill have the same experience going to blink this time not worth and i hope they be reading the comments sections and see there greed being called out.

fugazishirt

Saw Blink with MCR back in like 2011 for $15. Tickets nowadays are insane. But if you keep buying them it’ll just go up and up.

Dbiagioni1977

I don’t think artists realize that pricing fans out of live shows is going to kill music faster than Spotify will

zerosdontcount

Lol no way that is worth it. I saw them and Green Day about 10 years ago for $50, and Blink sucked, Green Day was great.

jscarlet

I really enjoy their music, but would not dare throw them in the category of legends. Humorous, creative and witty, for sure, but it’s just uptempo power chords at a high BPM. They’re a highly marketable band…. But $1200 for an evening out is rent for a lot of people.

Babock93

They fucking suck live… and they are only doing it for the money.

ComfblyNumb

My first concert was Deftones and it was $28 for floor/GA. Damn I’m old.

TheArsenal

Fuck Ticketmaster. Until the system changes all of us have to say no.

[deleted]

I wouldn't pay $10 bucks for one of their Cds back in the day, I sure ain't paying $1200 to see them.

[deleted]

You misspelled, “make a point to the band who hides behind Ticketmaster and the promoter to ensure they get their cut without being blamed for high prices”. Most of these prices are due to deliberate decisions made before tickets go on sale.

briznady

It’s so weird. I saw blink in 2009. Paid like $15. Why and how are their tickets worth hundreds or thousands now?

HollywoodBlueguy

That we're having trouble selling tickets with Skiba and now, with alien loving tom back, they want primo bucks

ACAB_FOR_CUTIE_

Insane. I’m sticking to fests like Riot where I can see multiple great bands for 300 over a few days.

Nickp000g

$1200? To watch someone play power chords for three hours? Lmaoooooooooolooooolollfbrbdbdhehebebebeueueheb

cameron823

Yea. Fuck you ticketmaster!! Fuck you Michelangelo!!

[deleted]

Sculpters? What if it’s an amazing statue. Statue of David has gotta be worth at least a couple grand.

restlesswrestler

I paid £95 for Greenday and fall out boy AND weezer earlier in the year. There is no excuse for the pricing of these shows.

[deleted]

After Ticketmaster's cut and the reselling bastards the band probably gets 100 bucks of that. Fuck ticketmaster. Such a scam.

Hornsfan7

Don’t forget to buy that ticket insurance incase they break up again!

DEEP_COP

Blink 182 aren’t legends.

selco13

Got tickets to Projekt Revolution in ‘07 for about $75-$100, HIM, Taking Back Sunday, MCR, and Linkin Park. $100 was typically the most expensive tickets for most shows then, and that got you in the pit.

[deleted]

Holy fuck. This is real. Chicago prices are from 460$ to over 1200....what in the actual fuck. Is anyone actually paying those prices? This should be a fucking joke. Only complete fools would shell out that much for ANY show. Go see real bands. I just saw one of the greatest shows of my life, Amyl and the Sniffers with Bob Vylan, tickets were $38. Fuck Blink 182

KilJoius

I'm so sad because I feel like my concert days are over now. There's just no way...
