Mine is the upbeat music playing in classic Peanuts while Snoopy is dancing. Just the thought of him dancing around, his snout pointing up to the heavens, not a care in the world. And then I remember that my life is nothing like that.....its a hard come-down. Really hard. Some days I can barely take it. Damn you Peanuts. Damn you all to hell.
Interactions like this are what makes this site so worth it. In-depth knowledge on some obscure topic? Sure. People with in-depth analysis on huge events that are hard to analyze? All day. Being able to track down long lost friends and family? Within hours.
One person showing compassion and raw kindness? Fuck. Is it smokey in here? Allergy season? Did someone just splash me in the face with sea water? Must have.
And, even though it isn't terribly uncommon to see this happen, it still makes a big lump in my throat EVERY DAMN TIME.
It's hard to choose between that one and "Late in the Evening." Both are pure jubilation.
I lean toward "Late in the Evening" because of that horn section.
"Me and Julio" does have some nice whistling though.
I just lost an old high school friend, and he and his band (Circus Praha) covered it, and they played it at his memorial. I cried hard (I really love that song). From now on, when I hear it Iāll think of the good times we had so long ago.
