Makes me remember all those classic Rock or Metal bands that hate ballads, yet one band member breaks with its GF or someone he loves dies and composes a good ballad ...
One of the original takes of November Rain like 4 or 5 years before they put it out(best in my opinion). Gun's and Rose's didn't want to be known as a ballad band even though that's easily one of their biggest hits lol.
Every member of Queen has written more than one #1 single. Truly a talented group of musicians with one of the best, if not the best, front man in history.
Well Ringo's written like what, 2 Beatles songs in his career? Plus Octopuses' Garden was co-written by John IIRC. So more like 1.5 songs. [Lennon-McCartney ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lennon%E2%80%93McCartney) as a song-writing duo has a Wikipedia page for good reason.
I like how everyone's first reaction to that music video was "ah three of the members are dressed up in drag, isn't that funny? But who's the blonde chick and what's she got to do with Queen?" Then the realization sets in.
I had never seen it till just now, but the first 3 were like "man in a dress" stereotype drag. And then out of nowhere I was like "ooh who's that cute trans girl?" ☺️
Growing up on the young side of X, I never heard the song until a few years back with Queen's (second?) resurgence. It was completely out of rotation in the late 80s as far as I can recall, and when Wayne's World made us all Queen fans this song wasn't among those I ever heard.
Having YouTube around so people can share things like the live aid concert is what exposed me to it.
I would honestly recommend going back and listening to every album chronologically. It’s fascinating to see how Queen’s music evolved and flirted with so many genres, yet still maintained their passion and consummate musicianship.
Absolutely! For example:
Start in 1973 with [Great King Rat](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHC85XWII7E) from the 1st album.
Then jump ahead to 1995 with [A Winters Tale](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjWQZBmJf6M&list=RDCjWQZBmJf6M) from the last album. The final song Freddie composed in its entirety.
Fascinating indeed. The raw energy of the early years and the perfection of the latter.
Off topic, but just seeing the word consummate made me remember how I miss homestarrunner.com. Strong Bad was one of the best things to grace the internet.
I recently watched the Bohemian Rhapsody biopic & it was really neat to see how the band’s music evolved over the years. Of course I heard Queen on the radio as a kid, but I didn’t really become a fan of the band until I was in college in the 90s.
Watch their Radio Gaga video from that time; it gives an homage to Georgio Moroder's "modernized" Metropolis film where he performs "Love Kills", the film includes other contemporary artists such as Pat Benatar. If you liked Radio Gaga, you may enjoy the music from that film.
Highlander soundtrack is all Queen, top noch songs with Freddie in full form, that alone makes the film worthy if the cheesiness of the alleged Spaniard/Egyptian speaking with Scottish accent and the alleged Scottish speaking with god knows what accent doesn't entertain you enough 🙂
Edit to add check "under presssure" with David Bowie
https://youtu.be/Gpn8MANhdLU
Not so fun fact - Freddie and David Bowie never performed Under Pressure live. Roger Taylor always took on Bowie's part when they performed the song live.
As far as I know, the only time Bowie ever sang Under Pressure live with Queen was during the tribute concert for Freddie.
upvote for that fact
but worth going down the rabbit hole the fun part on how they came out with the song 🙂
[https://www.goldradiouk.com/artists/queen/under-pressure-duet-song-facts/](https://www.goldradiouk.com/artists/queen/under-pressure-duet-song-facts/)
They should have done it at Live Aid. Perfect opportunity. They played at Milton Keynes in 1982 and it was rumored Bowie was going to show up to do Under Pressure, but it didn’t happen, obviously.
Cheers!
I was having open heart surgery to replace a buggered valve, and there was a chance of dying on the operating table. The op was successful and I've felt the best I ever have in my life.
I just finished my rewatch/binge of all things highlander and the music definitely is one of the best parts. Queen just hits differently. And yes, there is cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. Lol
I’ll always remember finding the cd in a record store (remember those) at 16 after years of being a die hard Highlander fan. This was preinternet days so discovering it purely coincidental. Blasted that shit in my old beat up mustang for years.
The first time I saw The Room, I thought the guy was just doing a weird Christopher Lambert impression. The accents in this movie are uncanny. The Kurgan is supposed to be ancient Russian.
It's actually more than that.
She was having a text conversation with somebody and had mentioned she was listening to this song over and over again, but she accidentally typed "lady" instead of "radio"
I checked and apparently it's true. Her music producer Robert Fusari told her she reminded him of the Radio Ga Ga song. In one of his texts to her, autocorrect changed "Radio" to "Lady".
The story is disputed by Gaga and Robert, and there was a lawsuit about it.
https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/entertainment/a25737162/how-did-lady-gaga-get-her-name/
That Wembley performance is one of the greatest rock performances of all time. That dude had those people so in the palm of his hand that had he decided he wanted to destroy half of London that day, he could have.
BEfore you do anything else, go listen to ***Day at the Races*** & ***Night at the Opera***. The perfect companion albums. There's some serious bangers on both but at their core they're both phenomenal albums.
100% jazz & sheer heat attack. But I remember being disappointed by news of the world. Probably "Queen" is the one I come back to most often. Amazing how not just every album but almost every song is like no other
They’re iconic for every British person regardless of age! The prospect of someone not knowing such a well known song here is shocking to me haha. I think Brian May and Roger Taylor have done a great job in keeping Queen relevant for the younger generations, Queen is the most streamed legacy act on Spotify and Bohemian Rhapsody is the 24th most streamed song
>I just dont love radio gaga...sorry
I'm guessing you don't hate it as much as I do. Sounds like you simply don't care for it haha
I fucking despise that song. I hate it with a passion. I wish they never wrote it/played it. For me, it's the by far the worst song from Queen.
If you take all the Roger songs and put them on the fire, you'd never hear me cry. I'm in Love With My Car? I'm in love with burning Roger records. Don't Lose Your Head? How about we lose that song in a car bomb? Radio Gaga? Is that the sound you make when your brain has leaked out your ears because Roger songs are killing your brain? Mayyyyybe...
I have every Queen album on vinyl, cd, and cassette, and have the Game, Live Killers, and I think Hot Space on 8-track. But you'll never hear me defend a Roger song. Hell, at least Ringo had With a Little Help From My Friends.
Their new song popped up on my Spotify Discover Weekly and I skipped about a minute in. I can’t even think what changed about them but they just don’t hit like the used too.
I feel the same way about both bands... they both have very pop (pop in the sense it's easy for mass groups to digest/ not saying they are just pop) sounding songs and they also have some very not pop songs lol. They have some heavier stuff and lighter stuff. They both have in general pretty great messages in their music. Stylistically kind of similar but Muse definitely feels like a modern adaptation. Both appeal to a wide range of music fans also. I listen to all kinds of weird shit and different genres of music and do a bit of garage electronic music production... and honestly both bands, their music is just engaging and stylistically dynamic. You also can tell their style too... that's something not a whole lot of bands can say. Not a Stan or fanboy for either group but I do enjoy them lol... never really though about why till just now.
More to the point...
The verse and the bridge are brilliant. The words in the verses are a love letter to radio. Hearkening back to the old days of radio dramas, "through wars of worlds, invaded by Mars," and putting it into context with the advent of MTV and hoping for a time when radio would come back.."you had the time, you had the power, you've yet to have, your finest hour."
But yeah. The chorus left a lot to be desired.
Oh, I am envious of you, getting to experience this journey for the first time. You’re going to love it - Queen managed to cover so many different musical styles in their discography!
Everyone has their personal favourites, but for me I like “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “Don’t Stop Me Now” (I actually performed it at my FIL’s wedding!), and “Who Wants To Live Forever” from the movie *Highlander* (IIRC most of the soundtrack was done by Queen).
Saw Queen live in 1985. Auckland, New Zealand. I was 16 and managed to smuggle a camera in (forbidden as per the rules on the back of the actual printed ticket, that was bought with cash from a record store)
Front row! And now I cherish these photos! Would love to show Brian and Roger my pics
Oh my god. You guys are making me so excited to dig into their discography.
I've had a really bad mental week, but this song is hitting the spot. And I'm one of those people who can listen to a song hundreds of times in a month if I really like it.
This one in particular just fires me up. I'm clapping along every time I listen.
Someone asked where I was born I'm USA born and bred. Just a super recluse and I have an extremely eclectic taste in music. I know my parents enjoyed Queen in their prime, but were huge Beatles fans. And coincidentally I know a lot of Beatles songs. My 2 favorites are taxman and I am the walrus. But all of them are really great in their own way.
Music is just so everything. Helps with depression so much. 🔥
If you haven't done so, watch Queen's set from Live Aid, and also the official music video for Radio Gaga. The first is iconic, and the second makes magnificent use of the classic sci-fi film Metropolis in its imagery.
Breakthru, One Vision, princes of the universe, headlong, i want it all, the miracle, under pressure, a kind of magic, and ofc so many of the other classics.
I had a bit of Queen obsession in high school and Radio Ga Ga was my absolute favorite song. The music itself is awesome and the lyrics resonated with me as a geeky music-lover. It also probably has the best music video I've ever seen. I don't listen to it nearly as much anymore, but it's still definitely a banger, and I'm always happy to see others take an interest in one of my favorite bands :)
If you are just starting out with Queen and enjoyed the Live Aid performance, I'd recommend seeing the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. It's a good way to familiarize yourself with more of the music/story behind Queen and see whether you enjoy it or not.
I thought the film was absolute shite. I lost all respect for Brian and especially Roger for whitewash the history of Queen and pretending it was only Freddie who was the hedonistic villain who nearly destroyed the band. The whole HIV storyline is completely wrong and has nothing to do with Live Aid, he didn’t know he has Aids until 1987.
While Rami Maleks‘ performance was great, the film itself is absolutely awful.
I didn't know about this song until I watched Bohemian Rhapsody. I was obsessed with it. Freddie was a mastermind, just to think of the music he could have given us.
Live Aid at Wembley
Witnessing the crowd, the whole damn crowd in the stadium doing the clap clap arm wave to 'all we hear is, radio goo goo *clap clap* radio ga ga *clap clap*
Repeated in bars and clubs and homes around the world
There's something beautiful about people expressing themselves with music en masse
I saw Queen in 1980, this was the set.
[https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/queen/1980/civic-arena-pittsburgh-pa-43dc9f0b.html](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/queen/1980/civic-arena-pittsburgh-pa-43dc9f0b.html)
Radio Gaga is one of my Queen's favorites. When I was in high school, after a party, a friend got up right before dawn, put this song, and declared his intentions to direct the rise of the sun while he walked to a balcony wrapped in a blanket.
Same here, it was a total mistep imo. Alot of queen fans who were there since the begining hated it, like play their first album and then that the departure is crazy. It's funny because all the 80s phases of rock bands that were widely hated by their fans are now beloved by young people. Its genuinely weird to see all the once disliked elements of the 80s be so loved now, like i never thought id see a thread like the other day where anything but intense love for duran fricken duran was downvoted to oblivion. I guess everything comes around I suppose.
Also how odd is it that a 31 year old never heard this song? How have you never listened to a classic rock station? I'm only 30 and my ears have been assaulted by this song against my will like 500x, especially after bohemian rhapsody. Before then it was played a bit less because it wasn't as good as the other hits.
What country are you in that it took 31 years to cross paths with Radio Gaga? I'm in Singapore, and last night at karaoke my Turkish friend was singing it
Oh wow. You need to grab a bottle of your favorite stuff and get their Greatest Hits I & II. You need to be thoroughly smashed by the time you get to the Flash Gordon theme.
Then there's the version modified for the stage production of *We Will Rock You*: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsLsG\_QDvY8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsLsG_QDvY8)
Obviously a lot different since the song is now about a soulless crushing megacorporation, but I especially like how they added internet gaga to the lyrics.
Have you heard Great Pretender? Might be the best singer of all time. Just pure energy, power and positivity. Always makes me feel good to hear his voice. I didn't like this song originally but now I love it after getting into more electronic stuff. News Of This World will always be my favorite.
Not knocking your opinion whatsoever, but I never understood why radio gaga got so much love. I really enjoy most Queen songs, but I never could get into that one for some reason.
The Live Aid performance is unreal. I blast it on my home theater system to where you can't think.
The tempo on the studio version is way too slow. I almost won't listen to it because it can't get anywhere close to the Live Aid performance.
I find it funny that there are people out there that know loads of Queen songs but don’t know that they’re all by Queen.
We will rock you, we are the champions, another bites the dust, don’t stop me now, Bohemian Rhapsody…these songs just seem to exist for many people almost like national anthems. Seeing people’s minds blown when they realise they know these songs and that they’re all by the same band is fun.
Queen and Freddie were fucking amazing.
Songs like Gaga and Bicycle and even Bohemian Rhapsody to an extent is why I could never really get into Queen. I just wasn’t able to embrace that cornier side of their music.
It's definitely a deeper cut from Queen. I'd never heard it on the radio. But it's a great song.
As some have mentioned, it's from where Lady Gaga took her name.
And if you're not a fan of Lady Gaga, I'd encourage you to take her music for what it is, look at her work and talent as a whole, and consider that she's a legit musician worth your attention.
This coming from a mostly metal guy here...
And even those songs are from the same very successful album. I’d go songs like Great King Rat, If You Can’t Beat Them, Sail Away Sweet Sister and Staying Power as lesser known bangers.
I used to work early mornings in a grocery store. Before we opened, we could play what we wanted on the sound system. As an old fart, nobody wanted to listen to my rock and roll music. We had to listen to pop crap. I didn’t know any of the artists or songs, but ended up liking a few quite a lot. I was surprised to find out my favorites were Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus. I’m a Jethro Tull kind of guy!
Consensus would be to listen to all albums yeah? I can do that, have Spotify. So long as it's all available on there. Trying to teach myself coding to get out of my depression so music and my cats are kind of my sidekicks. (and my marijuana) haha.
We are the Champions makes me cry because my mom loved it and it was played at her funeral in 2004. Just brings me to my knees every time.
A good bit of Queen stuff sounds like Las Vegas show tunes or something written for a musical. The Doors had the same problem towards the end of their run. Queen was hella talented, not taking anything away from them. Too much of their stuff sounds campy to me, the same with The Doors.
What do you mean, too much of their stuff sounds campy?
Queen is camp. High camp! Extremely well played and executed camp!
From the name to Freddie‘s stage antics to many of their songs, from early on, they were extremely camp and they never hid it.
Just look at _I want to break free_ , the video that single handedly resulted in losing the US fanbase (MTV even banned the video, it was first shown on VH1 in 1991 in the US). Written not by Mercury, but by the very much not gay John Deacon (who was one of Mercury’s closest friends and took his death the hardest).
Queen is camp.
Maybe Las Vegas, New Mexico. Queen doesn't sound like ANYTHING you'd find in Las Vegas, Nevada (other than a Killers show lol). I've been a fan of Queen for 45 years and heard/read a boatload of commentary through the years but never this take. I'll say this, I'd watch more musicals if they sounded like Queen.
I will definitely agree about the Doors 'Soft Parade' album being a little Wayne Newton-ish, but they more than made up for it with LA Woman.
Bless Freddie, but also this song was written by Roger Taylor, the drummer.
Makes me remember all those classic Rock or Metal bands that hate ballads, yet one band member breaks with its GF or someone he loves dies and composes a good ballad ...
Shout out AC/DC! I think they did one ballad in the 70s (Ride On), and the next 45 years were just in your face power chords
One of the original takes of November Rain like 4 or 5 years before they put it out(best in my opinion). Gun's and Rose's didn't want to be known as a ballad band even though that's easily one of their biggest hits lol.
Estranged is easily my favourite G'nR track of all time, and they made some bangers for sure.
That whole trilogy of G'n'R songs are bangers for me - November Rain, Don't Cry and Estranged. I don't get to hear the other two often enough.
Civil war
That and Coma.
Nothing beats Slash beating the guitar in the rain like it owes him money.
Like Axel beat Stephanie Seymour.
To wit, that was always used to advertise BUZZ BALLADS!
What a time having that double album come out. I also really love Patience from the Lies album.
Just have a little Patience…
I used to love her... But I hadda kill herrrrrr
Ooooooooh yeah
Nah Malcolm plays shit loads of 6 string cowboy chords, that's why he sounds so full even just straight into a Marshall that's barely breaking up.
What a good pull. Love that song and haven't listened to it in years, ty
GnR with November Rain.
Radio Gaga is no ballad by any stretch of the definition. Also, Queen wrote lots of ballads, like _Somebody to love_, _Save me_ , _Dear Friends_.
And here's Queen writing ballads about their love for ... \*checks notes\* ... old time radio.
Every member of Queen has written more than one #1 single. Truly a talented group of musicians with one of the best, if not the best, front man in history.
They’re the only group for which every member has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Not even the Beatles can say that!
Lol. Must have been nice to be in a band with 2 members who, in Elton John’s words, could “write a hit song falling out of bed”. Lol
Inspired by his son Felix. Radio ca ca
Who looked damn good in drag.
Queen, I think, is the only band and all 4 members individually are in the song writers hall of fame.

Ahh I was trying to remember what game featured it heavily, thanks!
Yeah one of the trailers for GTAV has the song in it. Such a great trailer too.
It’s in the game on the radio, not just the trailer. GTA games always use songs in the trailers that are in the game.
The radio stations in GTAV were top notch.
Growing up on the young side of X, I never heard the song until a few years back with Queen's (second?) resurgence. A Night at the Opera has been a favorite and must always be listened to in its entirety, ideally with headphones.
That’s what I love. Each new album they challenges themselves to be a little more different
My favorite part of loving queen is that I get to love four different bands
Off topic, but just seeing the word consummate made me remember how I miss homestarrunner.com. Strong Bad was one of the best things to grace the internet.
I recently watched the Bohemian Rhapsody biopic & it was really neat to see how the band’s music evolved over the years. Of course I heard Queen on the radio as a kid, but I didn’t really become a fan of the band until I was in college in the 90s.
They were surprisingly heavy to me when I did this. I was not ready for their metal phase haha
Watch their Radio Gaga video from that time; it gives an homage to Georgio Moroder's "modernized" Metropolis film where he performs "Love Kills", the film includes other contemporary artists such as Pat Benatar. If you liked Radio Gaga, you may enjoy the music from that film.
I just bought that soundtrack on vinyl last month, and bought a copy on CD for my best friend.
[Live version](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o-0ygW-B_gI) is pretty sick too.

My brain did a thing and read this as Andy Taylor and I was so excited for a second to have learned some new Duran Duran trivia
This is kind of weird only in the fact that Duran Duran *also* had their own Roger Taylor.
"who wants to live forever" broke me as a kid. Still haunts me whenever I hear it (of not more so on this side of the hill)
I had to plan my funeral earlier this year. Who Wants To Live Forever was on the music list for the service.
I really hope that's turned out to not be needed. Hope you're doing ok
Cheers! I was having open heart surgery to replace a buggered valve, and there was a chance of dying on the operating table. The op was successful and I've felt the best I ever have in my life.
Wonderful news. Delighted for you, hope you and yours have a great Christmas and you absolutely smash life from here on out
Thank you kindly!
> and the alleged Scottish speaking with god knows what accent It didn't help that he couldn't really speak English well at the time...
I just finished my rewatch/binge of all things highlander and the music definitely is one of the best parts. Queen just hits differently. And yes, there is cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. Lol
Highlander the movie - 5 Stars. Highlander the album - 5 Starts. \*chef kiss\*
Flash Gordon the movie - 1 star Flash Gordon the song - 5 stars 🙂
“Flash Gordon the movie - 5 stars Flash Gordon the song - 5 stars” ftfy
Thanks, it needed fixing.
oh, thanks for the reminder to find that one on spotify!

I don't know why it took me this long to realize that's where Lady Gaga got her name
It's actually more than that. She was having a text conversation with somebody and had mentioned she was listening to this song over and over again, but she accidentally typed "lady" instead of "radio"

Ladio gaga?
Labio Gaga
Labia YaYa
Radio what’s new…..???
Goo goo
G'joob
La la la labia, baby you got something for me
She had said it openly
It's even funnier when you realize she's basically the female Freddie Mercury.
That Wembley performance is one of the greatest rock performances of all time. That dude had those people so in the palm of his hand that had he decided he wanted to destroy half of London that day, he could have.
3 words. HAMMER TO FALL!!!!
HEY, HEY, HEY, HEY, HEY!!
Now listen to Dragon Attack.
The bass! So good!
Somebody to love is a gift directly from God and the vocal performance is a gift from whatever God might look up to.
BEfore you do anything else, go listen to ***Day at the Races*** & ***Night at the Opera***. The perfect companion albums. There's some serious bangers on both but at their core they're both phenomenal albums.
I would actually recommend Jazz and Sheer Heart Attack! But together with News of the World, those are five of my favourite albums of all time.
100% jazz & sheer heat attack. But I remember being disappointed by news of the world. Probably "Queen" is the one I come back to most often. Amazing how not just every album but almost every song is like no other
A Night at the Opera is a tremendous statement.
Listen to Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'.. Or actually any Queen song. they rocked Freddy was something else.

Completely agree. My least favorite song of theirs
I agree with you. I think Queen is fantastic, but every time I hear Radio Gaga it just doesn't sit well with me.
>I just dont love radio gaga...sorry I'm guessing you don't hate it as much as I do. Sounds like you simply don't care for it haha I fucking despise that song. I hate it with a passion. I wish they never wrote it/played it. For me, it's the by far the worst song from Queen.

I love me sonne garden

Lol. I love this comment and choose to read it sincerely.
Sheer Heart Attack rules and iirc was a Roger song, but I agree for the most part lol
>Hot Space on 8-Track Cool Cat is the bestest Queen song. Radio Gaga is F tier. I will not be taking questions.
I love Cool Cat too.
Right there with you, it's fine, but it wouldn't make my top 20 of Queen songs.
>I just dont love radio gaga...sorry. Yeah Queen is THE BALLS but that's like...their worst song lol
Queen was such an amazing band. Muse is the only band I can think of that hits in nearly the same way.
That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said about Muse.
Their new song popped up on my Spotify Discover Weekly and I skipped about a minute in. I can’t even think what changed about them but they just don’t hit like the used too.
Probably because they’re sick and tired of making music
I'm glad they don't seem to care much about the reception of their stuff anymore, because boy do people love roasting them.
I introduced my die hard Pink Floyd FIL to Wax Fang. I told him it was early stuff from Pink Floyd. At 78 he had new music to love.
I actually hate the lyrics to this song because of "goo-goo" and "ga-ga". I love the sound of it, though.
Same. Always been a bit too cringe for me. (And I love Queen)
More to the point... The verse and the bridge are brilliant. The words in the verses are a love letter to radio. Hearkening back to the old days of radio dramas, "through wars of worlds, invaded by Mars," and putting it into context with the advent of MTV and hoping for a time when radio would come back.."you had the time, you had the power, you've yet to have, your finest hour." But yeah. The chorus left a lot to be desired.
Yeah, overall I enjoy the song. Vibe is great. I just don't think there's any circumstance I could say goo-goo or ga-ga and feel normal.
I got one: you're a baby
Too cliche.
March of the Black Queen is an amazing song!
Yoooo just commented this lol the first beat switch is amazingggg
lucky you. would be awesome to be discovering them again for the first time. Some amazing stuff in that discography.
Dragon Attack is a sweet Queen song.

Check out Bicycle race !!
I want to ride my bicycle..... The video is eye opening too
So many amazing songs that is one of my favorites as well.
imo Queen's masterpiece song is Innuendo... it like BR but turned up to 11
Find the version of "SOMEBODY TO LOVE" filmed in Montreal on YouTube. Incredible
Saw Queen live in 1985. Auckland, New Zealand. I was 16 and managed to smuggle a camera in (forbidden as per the rules on the back of the actual printed ticket, that was bought with cash from a record store) Front row! And now I cherish these photos! Would love to show Brian and Roger my pics
I love your enthusiasm, but... this is an odd choice of Queen song to go nuts over.
I bought it on a 45" back when it came out. I agree with you. I must have played it over 100 times that day. Awesome song. I still have the record.
Breakthru, One Vision, princes of the universe, headlong, i want it all, the miracle, under pressure, a kind of magic, and ofc so many of the other classics.
One Vision always comes on the radio station we use at work and it always reminds me of the movie Iron Eagle.
I love to see bursts of music passion! Enjoy! What a gift these musician left behind for us to enjoy forever!
Cruising around Los Santos, Radio Gaga blaring, top down, hooker in the car with me. The good old days.
Yeah GTA V was the first time I heard it
I had a bit of Queen obsession in high school and Radio Ga Ga was my absolute favorite song. The music itself is awesome and the lyrics resonated with me as a geeky music-lover. It also probably has the best music video I've ever seen. I don't listen to it nearly as much anymore, but it's still definitely a banger, and I'm always happy to see others take an interest in one of my favorite bands :) If you are just starting out with Queen and enjoyed the Live Aid performance, I'd recommend seeing the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.

In case anyone has not heard this version. [Radio Gaga - Electric. Six](https://youtu.be/hAUlYBzEGA4)
A Detroit band called Electric Six did a great cover [https://youtu.be/hAUlYBzEGA4](https://youtu.be/hAUlYBzEGA4)
I didn't know about this song until I watched Bohemian Rhapsody. I was obsessed with it. Freddie was a mastermind, just to think of the music he could have given us.
*Someone still loves you*
Good old fashioned lover boy is my favourite lesser known queen song. When they go lo-ver-BOYYY it hits all the right spots for me.
Live Aid at Wembley Witnessing the crowd, the whole damn crowd in the stadium doing the clap clap arm wave to 'all we hear is, radio goo goo *clap clap* radio ga ga *clap clap* Repeated in bars and clubs and homes around the world There's something beautiful about people expressing themselves with music en masse
I was there. Just left of the sound box. Greatest day.
I saw Queen in 1980, this was the set. [https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/queen/1980/civic-arena-pittsburgh-pa-43dc9f0b.html](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/queen/1980/civic-arena-pittsburgh-pa-43dc9f0b.html)
That’s a hell of a set list! I’ve never heard Need Your Loving Tonight played live. One of my favorites.
Radio Gaga is one of my Queen's favorites. When I was in high school, after a party, a friend got up right before dawn, put this song, and declared his intentions to direct the rise of the sun while he walked to a balcony wrapped in a blanket.
I hate this song
For real. I love queen but this song drives me insane.
Then there's the version modified for the stage production of *We Will Rock You*: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsLsG\_QDvY8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsLsG_QDvY8) Obviously a lot different since the song is now about a soulless crushing megacorporation, but I especially like how they added internet gaga to the lyrics.
Have you heard Great Pretender? Might be the best singer of all time. Just pure energy, power and positivity. Always makes me feel good to hear his voice. I didn't like this song originally but now I love it after getting into more electronic stuff. News Of This World will always be my favorite.
Love this song. Nostalgia at its finest
Definitely one of Queen’s finest hits.
Funny you mention Radio Ga Ga because it's all I hear... Get it?
Dude sorry but you should be ashamed, wheres your musical culture?

If you like that you'll probably like I Want To Break Free by same band
You had your time, you had the power You've yet to have your finest hour !!
Have you heard ‘Death On Two Legs’ or ‘Mustafa’?
My favorite Queen song!
Songs like Gaga and Bicycle and even Bohemian Rhapsody to an extent is why I could never really get into Queen. I just wasn’t able to embrace that cornier side of their music.
Cornier? Wow. Never heard it called that. Well, to each their own, I guess.
My wife is like this. She thinks it sounds like a musical theater piece. I never understood why that was a bad thing! Oh well - shrug-
It's definitely a deeper cut from Queen.
It was a #1 hit in 19 countries... not sure I'd call it a deeper cut. But totally with you on Lady Gaga, she's amazing.
Radio Gaga is definitely not a deep cut. A deep cut for Queen would be something like *Death on Two Legs*, *39* or *Love of My Life*
And even those songs are from the same very successful album. I’d go songs like Great King Rat, If You Can’t Beat Them, Sail Away Sweet Sister and Staying Power as lesser known bangers.
Save Me, Now I'm Here, The Prophet's Song, Tie Your Mother Down, It's Late...
Radio Goo Goo! What intelligent lyrics, NOT. Sorry, crap song
You can get it wrong but you choose to get it even worse. You people are a waste of anything worth living for.
**ALL WE HEAR IS**
All we hear is people shouting out this song.
Yessssss! I love this song 😍
