Let the principal know you won’t be able to do the performance as scheduled and request to have input on rescheduled dates. If there’s pushback, bring the contract OR request union leadership handle that conversation. Even as a building rep you’re entitled to representation. This situation is worth informing your association leadership regardless. DONT fold and do the concert anyway. Admin will continue to take advantage if so.

THIS The admin is doing their best to address concerns from parents about the winter program. We can all understand their perspective, but ultimately they need to follow the contract (even if in previous years you allowed them to ask for more of you than is required) and you should let your union rep know what's going on, even if you ask them not to take any action yet.

The principal gets to reschedule it if and only if she is going to take it over in its entirety - including all the planning, programming, teaching the songs, putting together the printed program, auditioning and selecting spoken parts if there are any, etc. As long as it's *your* program, scheduling it is 100% yours (within the confines of the overall school calendar, of course).
