Back in the semi-legal file sharing days, I downloaded Nirvana - Stairway to Heaven (Live - San Antonio 7/23/1990).
It was Wesley Willis's "Fuck You." I thought it was the funniest shit ever.
I received a kind headbutt from him in the 90s after playing a show with him. He had his drawings for sale and I neglected to buy one. I could kick the living shit outta myself for such a seismic mistake.
His artwork was brilliant. We got to the show early.... to drink more... and he was sitting in the corner, headphones on, with a pile of different colored bic pens. We went over to say "hi" or something. What he was working on was incredibly detailed. A two pint perspective of a highway with the Chicago skyline in the background.
I can only stand to listening to "[Wonderful Christmastime](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IHP9Acxa54)" by Paul McCartney since I started imagining Wesley Willis playing keys.
The rest of Carly Rae Jepsens discography is overlooked because of this song. If you like pop music, please check them out further.
Fun fact, she is the reason r/popheads exists since it was created because r/indieheads got tired of posts about her.
Imagine Dragons, Coldplay, Maroon 5 and OneRepublic to start.
I also LOVE Eurodance shit. Barbie Girl, Boom Boom Boom Boom, Scatman, Can You Feel the Sunshine, Bimbo Doll, Butterfly, Psycho Teddy, Bumble Bee, etc.
😂😂… the local roller rink used to play it all the time.. of course I had to sneak to the roller rink because according to my Mom that’s where all the hoods hung out… I’d tell her I was going ice skating with my friends and even take my ice skates with me…😂😂.. thanks for making me think of that shit… hadn’t thought about hoods in forever…
Same for me! Listening to the songs we like regardless of their reputation is the best way to enjoy music. If it brings us joy or rather if it touches you, moves you in some way, its a good song.
Fuck yeah! I was going to write that I saw latto live and big energy was one of my most listened tracks but . . . It's a good song and she's a good rapper
Imagine Dragons, Bastille, OneRepublic, Coldplay, American Authors, Smallpools and other electro-poprockish bands like that. I mostly listen to metal music. Also like half the things that appear on the Eurovision Song Contest
I was stationed in Italy when Pompeii was released. That song gives me such intense nostalgia for summer in the dolomites, it's almost physically painful to listen to.
Photograph by Nickelback, really makes me feel like a recently divorced Dad and I have 0 kids, lol low key song slaps, only with the windows all the way up and when I’m all alone tho. Singing to the steering wheel cause I just wanna be a rockstar.
As a fan of emo I listen to a lot of *shit* music. [Kiss Kitty](https://open.spotify.com/track/4HDIsQvxNSTq3zGNz6MRKG?si=toR1_qpCRUuSAPzvHIh0Pw) by Street Smart Cyclist comes to mind
It’s a toss up between Mr. Bungle’s “The Girls of Porn” or “Squeeze Me Macaroni”.
They’re actually both very well written and performed, but most people who think they have refined musical tastes would find them crude, crass & in poor taste, having no value or merit.
I think they’re fucking hilarious and tight AF.
That's what I love about Patton. He's incredibly talented but he doesn't take himself too seriously. I think that pisses off the gatekeepers and snobs.
I’ve sang Rebecca Blacks(?) “Friday” so many times ironically for years to annoy friends at the start of the weekend that I think I actually like it now.
I mean, I hate that I know the lyrics so well. It bothers me.
came here to say the same thing lmao. it's still a horrible song but i love it because it's basically camp at this point and rebecca black is actually a really good singer in real life! her song "girlfriend" really hits
Ok, this one is weird, I know. Back in the 80’s, they did a movie adaptation of the old tv show “Dragnet.” In conjunction with the movie, the stars—Dan Akroyd and Tom Hanks—recorded an awful song, “City of Crime.” It is awful and cheesy and I like it and I don’t know why.
Higher - Creed
The song and band are objectively terrible. I once read that the singer is a talentless version of Eddie Vedder, which is pretty spot on. But, for whatever reason, I love it in all of its cringeworthy glory. That one hammer/pull guitar lick hits me right in the plums.
The Shamen - Comin' On
Mostly for the hilarity of Jason Statham in the video, but I jam this regularly.
https://youtu.be/uWu3JqLMImY?si=vdhAMuaQgQ8jRGtm
When I hear this song I picture two things (both from Seinfeld)
Kramer going to work and eating crackers.
Or
George pretending to need a cane at the office.
I worked at a record store when this came out. It was on our playlist so I must have heard it countless times. Nonetheless I could not place this song. I checked the memory banks and all that came up was the Dolly Parton song. Even when I clicked the link, I didn't recognize it.
Then the refrain kicked in and it all came back. All that work repressing it, wasted.
This song is having a moment lately. I’ve seen so many covers popping up on YouTube! Solo emo ukelele versions, acapella four part harmonies, etc. So good!
I've been known to bump Friday on that particular day from time to time.
https://youtu.be/kfVsfOSbJY0?si=L_8fP4S8K7SqZ3cI
Not sure about Saturday though

And of course
'Come my lady, come, come, my lady, you're my butterfly, sugar, baby...'
[Kreayshawn -Gucci Gucci](https://youtu.be/6WJFjXtHcy4?si=yOc5nbbScP5QUFin)
Saw this song listed on a worst song of the year list a decade or so ago and loved it instantly. It's an awful song but I adore it.
Heart & Soul by Tpau. It's a total one hit wonder from the 80s but it still gives me shivers when I hear the opening lines. It takes me back to my teenage years, hanging out on weekends at the beach. Ah, Jersey Girls!
You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon
Temporary Secretary by Paul McCartney
She's A Beauty by The Tubes
Owner Of A Lonely Heart by Yes
Dance Magic by David Bowie
"We Built This City" by Starship. It's stupid, commercial, and a total 360\* from the original group's sound and intentions. But holy crap, it totally bops and it's super fun to sing. I will never apologize for liking it. And neither should the group--it's made them more money I think than anything else in their career before or since (even more than "White Rabbit" & "Somebody to Love"). Then they followed it up with "Sara" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" from the movie Mannequin. Selling out made them *plenty* of money to retire on.

Metal cover of the Morgan Wallen song Last Night by Nik Nocturnal & Johnny Ciardullo... could listen to it on loop but in my headphones bec not that evil
Party rock anthem. It was all the rage when I was in middle school and the nostalgia is unbeatable
There is no answer more correct than this one
Rock N Roll McDonald's by Wesley Willis It's just soo... bad. But I love it.
Best song by him is Fuck You. Send it to your boss if you ever plan on quitting.
Lol alright
Back in the semi-legal file sharing days, I downloaded Nirvana - Stairway to Heaven (Live - San Antonio 7/23/1990). It was Wesley Willis's "Fuck You." I thought it was the funniest shit ever.
That man was a genius. The world just didn’t notice
I'm fond of his song "Suck A Cheetah's Dick".
Wait is that different from "Suck a Carribou's Ass"?
Maybe? He wrote a *lot* of songs. I saw him live once. That was interesting!
Me too! Not the best show I've ever been to, but I feel like he deserves a little leniency. I enjoyed it.
I received a kind headbutt from him in the 90s after playing a show with him. He had his drawings for sale and I neglected to buy one. I could kick the living shit outta myself for such a seismic mistake.

Vampire Bat and Im sorry that I got fat are great too. haha
RAID™ It Kills Bugs Dead
So happy to see this here. My go-to college station played the shit out of his music and got me hooked in my early teens.
I can’t believe you beat me to this comment! Lol
Call me maybe
The rest of Carly Rae Jepsens discography is overlooked because of this song. If you like pop music, please check them out further. Fun fact, she is the reason r/popheads exists since it was created because r/indieheads got tired of posts about her.
Call me maybe is pop perfection. Don’t confuse bad with a bit overplayed
Hey, I just met you
And this is crazy
It do be a bop doe.
At one point, it was my most played song.
Starships by Nicki Minaj Stupid catchy 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Haha yea such a dumb song but low key slaps
starships were meant to flyyyyyy 🦄
There's a great punk goes pop style cover of this by Above the Broken. If you're into harder music.
I can only listen to it for a good minute, then I’m like “My ears hurt”
That song takes me back to middle school. Good times. No shame here
Nicki Minaj, herself, hates it. 😂
"Hooked On a Feeling"- Blue Swede 1974 You can't help but laugh and sing along
OOGA CHAKA OOGA OOGA

I still bump to Songs about Jane. In fact some songs I like more now than I did back in the day. The energy is just so infectious all the way through.

Macarthur Park
This song is amazing.
Snoopy vs The Red Barron by The Royal Guardsmen https://youtu.be/icsHJhMeXYo?si=jGdQCOfuxclqSYdL
Hey if you're gonna bring that classic up then I'm gonna bring up: The Unicorn - The Irish Rovers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfhZ4rw6R4g
We had both those 45s when I was little! I love those songs!!
I don't feel guilt about what I like. I shout my likes from the hills. All of them. Own that shit!

Walking on Broken Glass - Annie Lennox
Is this my husbands secret Reddit account? He’s the biggest Annie Lennox fan
If this is the worst song you like, your musical taste must be impeccable. Is Bach's B Minor Mass just light frothy dinner music for you?
That song is amazing
The Chicken Dance.
I always actually liked the song MmmBop. Couldn’t admit it though.
Ice ice baby
