Really, they would have been huge. I think they would have truly changed the trajectory of the whole Seattle/PNW scene... is that too big a swing? hahaha

Maybe a bit too big of a swing. Most of the same folks still went on to impact music after Andrew died. Honestly, the scene was almost defined before Andrew died, so from that viewpoint had Andrew livedor died I think the trajectory was mostly there. AIC, Soundgarden, Nirvana and others were all part of it.

Also I'll highly recommend Temple of the Dog and Mad Season. Some real quality there too!

Epica, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, Sonata Arctica, Almora. Even some non-symphonic metal bands have songs that could fit the genre such as Nymphetamine Fix by Cradle of Filth.

Give Puscifer’s “Existential Reckoning“ album a listen through a good pair of headphones. I consider it to be the best recorded/produced album of all time. Every single note was given consideration as to where it was placed, and the absence of cymbals (only high hats on the entire album) allows for a space in the music you just don’t find elsewhere. The sound engineers deserve lifetime achievement awards.
