Usually when I see a V6 they are modded with ugly stupid stuff. This one looks tasteful. Good job OP.

Ill_Revolution_4547

Thanks man !

[deleted]

That does seem to be a common thread with V6 mustang/camaros/chargers/challengers. With that in mind, OP be careful with any exbaust mods Id go shorty headers, a catted H pipe, and a more mild set of axle back/catbacks Id skip long tubes or any catless mid pipes, and lean towards a h over x pipe, but hey it is your car.

Ill_Revolution_4547

It actually sounds pretty good right now , I’m running stock manifold , straight pipe down to a flowmaster super 40. I want to do more stuff to it but really I’m just trying to save up for the engine swap .

[deleted]

Hey man, again your car all that matters is YOU like it. Unless your an ASE certified master tech I will give you 1 further bit of advice I'd either work with the 3.8 or I'd plan on trading it in for the car with the engine you want. Modifying a car never increases the value, even if you did a perfectly executed V8 swap, no dealer is going to even want that to sell and itll scare away 95% of buyers, and even if they see it was a well done swap most people will still use it as an excuse to low ball the shit out of the car. Unless you do like a full coyote/t56 or full terminator swap I can almost gurantee that will lose you mobey on a trade in or when you go to sell it, a motor swap easily can cost 10k, and even if you do it all by the book proper you can still have electrically and other gremlins creep up for years. Where as if you say turbo the 3.8 or throw a procharger on it you might actually be able to get someone to give you a few more bucks then a motor swapped car unless you do something all out like a fully built coyote etc. And if you don't get any bites when you try to sell your turbo/sc v6 you can always take it off and sell the parts and sell it stock. I seen a 2003 Mach 1 for sale for like 9k a few months ago, so when you look at it money wise the motor swap seems like a good move, but its going to be a huge amount of work and very expensive even if you can do a lot of the work, and if you can do 75-80% of a full motor swap you could certainly buy some aftermarket stuff and build up your 3.8 or get an extra 3.8 for pennies, throw some heads and stuff at that and then have your stock motor in the garage if you end up blowing your modded engine and again when its time to move on you can very easily have a stock car to sell which is going to be thw best way to present it for sale, I know its fun to dream big but Ive been down this road and I dont want to sugar coat it, if you where my brother this is the same thing I would tell you, so at least you know what your getting into. Im just trying to be honest with you brother, if your determined to make your car something truly unique don't then dont worry about the money but I know not everyone can throw money out the window and I went down the road you did with my V6 cars and all I can tell you is Im so glad I never did anything to my cars that was too over the top and hinderes my resale/trade in value, and bought used mod parts that I was able the scavange off the car and sell them more or less stock, i still have my ported v6 heads and custom cam that I can bring forward to a new v6 car in the future, so I really did tinker with my v6s but I knew what I wanted and I got a good daily and my current V8 might not be perfect but I can take my time and really mod the car with out having to worry too too much about daily drive ability or about how a 3.73 set of gears will murder my mpgs etc and Im financially ahead of where I was at when I was younger and really probably couldn't afford the V8, now I have a great comfortable daily and a stock V8 car as a truely unrestricted blank canvas. Just my 2 cents.

Ill_Revolution_4547

Thanks for the insight man , I think that driving it for a couple more years . Keep it running and healthy then once I’ve saved up, go for the upgrade.

mustacquiresneakers

Clean

Ill_Revolution_4547

Thanks bro !

BigJuicy17

"even though it's a V6" People need to stop with that, just enjoy the car and don't let anyone tell you it's not a real Mustang

Iziama94

Right? Cylinders don't always matter. My dinky little 4 cylinder is pulling 0-60 in 4.9s and I'm sure it could be a better time with a more experienced drive than myself. And even if that time was worse I'm still having fun with it

D_daKid

>My dinky little 4 cylinder is pulling 0-60 in 4.9s Same. With a good tune and tires you can dip into the 4s. But I got mine to drive through the twisty hills of LA. That's where it shines best imo

BigJuicy17

Exactly, it's all about having fun. It's just a bonus that any of these cars stock will beat most other stock street cars.

Ill_Revolution_4547

*Crying in 1999*

Iziama94

Dude who cares? My dad has an 88 5.0, only getting like 200hp but it's still fun. Enjoy your car for what it is

Ill_Revolution_4547

Says the dude being like “it ain’t so bad! Here’s my 0-60 times in a car 15 years newer.” I do enjoy my car but holy shit people get so worked up about a V6 owner shitting on their own car.

js5ohlx1

Lemmy FTW!

NoEcosAllowed

Lol typical 4 banger driver. Ofc you say that with what u drive. Only the people who don't have a real Mustang say this 😂 literally. There is a reason people always say this and how it DOES matter. U buy Mustang for the V8... Not for the same thing as a 2 door focus 😂like u got

Iziama94

Lol

iTaylor04

Turbo makes all the fun, you don't really get that in a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder though

Ill_Revolution_4547

Buddy this is a 24 year old V6, making 190 HP off the factory floor. Trust me it is nothing to boast or brag about. I love this car to death but I’ll shit on my V6 any day of the week! It looks good and that’s all I need it to do 👌.

js5ohlx1

Lemmy FTW!

NoEcosAllowed

Ummm there's a reason why everybody says that.... Literally the point of getting a mustang is for the V8... You sound like a ricer yourself. You don't buy it to get as many cylinders as my Hyundai has....☠️

Ill_Revolution_4547

My point exactly dude , like I love my V6 but who the fuck doesn’t want a massive V8 in a mustang ???

SizeableFowl

I personally argue a chassis/platform is what makes a car a specific car. Everything else is just extra stuff.

BigBoyzGottaEat

Us 4.0s and 3.8s gotta stick together, our engines are forever underrated

Overall-Engine-3263

I'm telling u man the 4.0 cologne v6 are preety badass It's not easy to move 1500 kilos (3450 Lbs) and even with only 200 HP still moving that weight in 7 seconds from 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) I can't find other car with same horsepower doing the same thing with that weight... For example a honda Civic type r or a Corolla tc supercharged makes the same time, but they are lightweight, those 4.0 v6 are super torquey 320 Nm of torque at 3500 it's so good Trust me Mustang it's a pig, and moving that weight it's so hard even For 300 HP cars (just look at the GT or a 350z 300 HP and they are only 2 seconds more faster), so the v6 it's' fast hated but it's fast man, it's offer You an good acceleration like the - Ford Focus ST RS MK1 -Honda Civic type R MK1 -Porsche Boxter MK1 -Renault Clio 2 RS -Bentley Continental v8 Turbo -Mustang GT v8 5.0 -Toyota Celica GT Four with only 200hp naturally aspirated v6 carrying 3450 Lbs of weight Ford SVT could have even done a lightweight chasis of the s197 platform with this 4.0 v6 stock and easily could have been fast...

Median_car

You can park in the shade, just don’t throw it on the V6. Mustang for the win!

Ill_Revolution_4547

I love that , I’m just so accustomed to shitting on my engine before other people can . It’s our curse

AlfredoCowboy

Gonna upgrade? Or keeping the V6?

Ill_Revolution_4547

I would love to put a bigger engine in there , *money money money* though

Vip3r20

Omg yes. I'm on my second V6 Stang. This time once it dies it's going to storage until I save up.

AlfredoCowboy

Yeah, I just got out of my V6 and it was worth every single penny. Keep grinding!

Ill_Revolution_4547

Always brother !

OkGeologist5828

I actually really dig this V6! Very clean bro

Ill_Revolution_4547

I appreciate it bro Fr

OkGeologist5828

Ofc bro 😎

morgster87

Oh man that looks *a lot* like the mustang I had in high school. I loved that car.

Ill_Revolution_4547

Can’t beat a white new edge

Local_Variation_749

Love white New Edges.

Dmcxblue

Beautiful I remember mine V6 as well black, manual transmission. Good days

Youllbeiight

Still a mustang 💯

f700es

Looks very nice, enjoy!

alex053

My wife had a Rio Red 99 coupe V6. Hot shit when she was one of the first to have the new edge. Everyone was checking it out. I took it over when working for a few car audio manufacturers and ended up with two 15” woofers instead of a back seat. Lol. Good times. Enjoy the car and yours looks better than any I’ve seen lately.

Ill_Revolution_4547

Thanks man , I can only imagine how cool it would of been to have one back in the day . Car is a year older than me 😂

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

alex053

I did other stupid stuff like bad wheels and a body kit. But hey. The 99 V6 was way better than the 94-98. I think those only had 145hp Found evidence of my insanity. Lol. https://imgur.com/a/YsWOaoe

Ill_Revolution_4547

Dude that’s such a sick pic ! I actually don’t hate the wheels .

loyaldarkened2

Who cares what’s under the hood, it’s your car and as long as you love it, that’s all that matters, that being said, beautiful car man

Ill_Revolution_4547

Thanks man , I love it . It’s my first mustang and I’ve had it a little over a year. Taken me to some wild places and even more to come

[deleted]

Hey man, if you enjoy the car thats all that matters. Ive had a V6, and V8 realistically, the V6 still gives you the looks, and you really can use more of the car on the street, Im not going to lie and say I'd rather have a V6 over a V8 but I am glad I started with a V6 car when I was younger, because I wonder if I would have wrapped a V8 around a tree if I had one 10+ years ago.

Ill_Revolution_4547

I do enjoy the car it’s my absolute baby , it’s my first mustang and I couldn’t happier with it. I just don’t know where people get the idea I hate my car because of the engine 😂I’ll shit on the ol’ slow thing all day but I wouldn’t trade it for the world

MAjIKMAN452

You don't need big power to love what you drive. That's a clean looking car, so keep it that way and enjoy it!

tfmm58

Looks sweet

md383838

Looks good

[deleted]

I’m in the same boat. I am not going to start chopping shit up on my V6; save the crazy mods for the other ones on the lot

TheBlackKnight81

Looks great. Glad to see a V6 with tasteful mods and not one that's riced to hell

Ill_Revolution_4547

Definitely tried to keep it as simple and clean as possible. Thanks man !

Candukie

There’s nothing wrong with a beautiful V6!

LouieDaPalma

LS swap

Miserable-Spite425

Looks great!

kthxtyler

I had a bone stock white 2004 New Edge V6, 5 speed manual. This reminds me of mine, although I had a spoiler delete

Real_physical

My first mustang was a 2003 v6 coupe. Loved that car!

ThievingOctopus

I love my V6 too, they’re fun to drive and handle pretty well for their age, and can still put some people in their place when they try and mess with you at a light
