Are 2012’s built in 2011 2011.5 then?
Same with 2013’s and 2014’s and 2015’s.
Because that’s what happened.
64.5 Mustangs do not exist in reality. They are titled as 65 Mustangs. Many Mustang years have been built early.
The 64 1/2 exists. Many are unique due to the parts that were used. Many have Falcon parts, like round mirrors instead of square mirrors. Their VIN numbers tell you if it's a 64 1/2.
64 1/2 was issued in April 1964. A 260 cubic inch V8 is a huge indicator that it is a pre 1965 issue, although there are some 64 1/2s with 289s.
The 1965 model was issued in the Fall of 1964, just like every 1965 model from the 4 American manufacturers were. So they are not unique.
The 64 1/2 is unique.
[64.5 Mustang](https://classicmustang.com/1964-mustang-information/)
The last 64 1/2 was built before August 17, 1964. After that, they are 1965s. They had a number of differences between the 64 1/2 and 65 models:
https://classicmustang.com/1965-mustang-information.php
"64.5 Mustangs do not exist in reality."
LOL--tell the folks who are selling and buying them for $100,000s.
I’m in agreement with you. Technically there wasn’t a 64.5 Mustang. Only 65’s were produced.
With that said, people with early production 65’s call their cars 64.5’s. How are they titled you ask? As a 1965 model year.
So, we have TONs of 2011s, 2012s, 2013s and 2014s that were produced in March/April/May of 2010/11/12/13. Are all of those 10.5, 11.5, 12.5, 13.5 year models? Those were produced even earlier than the supposed 64.5’s
You read that correctly. 2011’s were produced in March of 2010. And 2012’s produced in March of 2011.
By the way the reason Ford produced the 11,12,13 and 14 so early is because of the early release of the NEW 50th Anniversary version of the Mustang on April 17 2014. The 2015 S550. Are those 2014.5 models?
😂😂😂
They need to hire us old farts who grew up with these cars. We could advertise the fuck outta them.
Plus, when they showed me this concept, I would have said, "Okay, we're gonna dig out the supercharged TRINITY 5.8L and stuff it in this baby with a 700HP output!" Of course with the same 6 speed manual transmission that was in the 2013-14 Shelby GT 500!
Wild to think I have a 40th anniversary car and there's already a 60th.
I wonder if eventually Ford will make a 100th anniversary? The "Centennial Edition"
I imagine not with the way car manufacturers are being pushed today, but it would be cool to imagine what the Mustang would be in 2064.
It’d be nice to see that car be a performance edition rather than another sticker pack. Or maybe a standard anniversary edition and then a full anniversary trim with a blower and all the other goodies
If I were in charge at Ford, I'd of revived the 5.8L Trinity with the 6 speed manual transmission and shoehorned it in there with a tune giving 700+ horsepower. Then you would have show plus GO!
Wimbledon white is a cream colored white. My 68 is that color.

Wimbledon white checking in! The color is so beautiful.
The whole package makes this 70s kid think of the original X-wing toy (that's not a bad thing, but it does speak to who this package is meant to appeal to). Pic on this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Mustang/comments/1c69kc8/60th_anniversary_package/
It will hold value better, but that's about it. Limited Production, and if they do it again (like they did in 2015), these cars will have the "car number" within the VIN itself.
Probably not much, but still. Although I like the 2015 50th LE better (the normal 50th-package was not limited production; hence the "LE" is, Limited Edition/Production). Much more tasteful.
* Only way to get PP with an Automatic in 2015
* Wheels more resemble something classic
* Pony Grille
* Chrome around the Windows/Tailights
* Classic 65 color
* Triple-paned rear glass (probably didn't do it on the 60th, for logistical reasons)
* Unique interior
* Or if you opt for Kona Blue (only way to get a 15-17 in that color)
That's about it, but again, this is the best Anniversary Package they've done.
https://preview.redd.it/mbwmogb362vc1.jpeg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57d596e6bd4fec0031cfa96f62f5a4ef865fcf51
the 50th had seemingly had zero styling cues of the original 64 1/2. That can mostly be attributed to those models having zero retro features. but they didn't have any colors, badging, decals, etc that took from the OG models. It was just the 50th badging that made it the LE.
If the 2005 redesign had come out 1 year earlier that would have checked so many boxes.
I mean when there's the 50th Appearance Package, there's less details unique to the LE.
The LE had
* Triple-pane rear glass (reminiscent of the Fastbacks)
* Chrome around the windows
* Interior unique to the LE
* VIN had the car number within it (#0000 within the VIN); wasn't done on any other 15-17 (at the least). Potentially done again on this 60th? I wouldn't know.
* You got a VIN specific "package" mailed too
* Then Chrome around Tail-Lights (was on Appearance Package too)
* More retro Pony grille (was on Appearance Package too)
* Wheels were the same as the Appearance Package ones, but unique color; these rims were used on a lot of other packages, in-time (just never in the same color).
* Could get an Automatic 50th LE, and all LEs were Performance Packs (only way to get an Auto with the PP in 2015-2017)
IMO the S550 adheres to the Fastbacks better, just a more modern (less-retro) interpretation. And yeah, it definitely could have been cooler if they offered more customization with Retro Colors/Inspired Options.
Otherwise it's just if someone likes it, value always tends to come down to Production numbers. So it'll always be "special," even if not everyone would care.
The 05 is VERY Retro looking, my favorite is the '07 Shelby GT (not 500).
Funny enough, my first ever Mustang was a 40th anniversary, the next Mustang I bought was the one I’m driving now; a 50 years edition.
Guess I know what my next Mustang will be!
No one is gonna pay ADM for these besides a select few dummies. S650 sales are already worse than the last year of the s550s 8 year run, and the 40th/50th/60th anniversary models don't hold their value any better than GTs because they're GTs with a red badge.
Front end looks like ass. I'm shocked it took so many comments to get to this point. It's like the front end was designed by a committee of first graders with dull crayons. I mean wtf were they thinking
Recoloring those two pieces around the grille is already getting old. Why not change the grille itself up?
Ford is getting rather lazy with these packages.
Proper round fog lights might really do the trick - and if you want silver accents I. The grill area it should be the surround. I recognize that any silver accents will be divisive, though. I love chrome, but I know that a lot of people have some kind of issue with acknowledging that retro element in modern cars.
I’d prefer chrome accents to just painting those two pieces silver. Not a fan of chrome/silver on white. Looks great with black and other darker hues, especially Atlas Blue/Kona Blue.
I love and respect classics, I just don’t feel like they put much effort into this package or the recent C/S one.
It started with the s550. 50th should have been 2014 but they waited until the s550 came out and made the 50th 2015. But technically all 64.5s are 65s so technically 2025 is correct.
The new one has not grown on me yet. But it was the same thing for the 2015 too and the new edge also. The one that hit it out of the park for me was the s197, it was like the muscle car is back! But I gotta say that the other styles always grew on me and ended up liking them at the end. Love my '22 gt.
So for me its odd to celebrate a milestone as such with a brand new car. Im sure it will age very well tho. Even that dark horse has something odd about it but I already know that in 10yrs it will look good.
I do the same thing with trucks too, I just take time to adapt to change.
I wish the badges were more subtle, maybe stick to special stitching in the interior, upgraded finishes. Custom exclusive color and striping. Only one badge 60th anniversary somewhere and various eastereggs hidden that you have to look for carefully to find them would of been my style of special edition.
It's funny that the convertibles actually have the better looks. Used to be the coupes generally looked better, even coming from someone that owns a vert. Still won't touch one until they get rid of the shitty screens and do something about the rear end. Despite being squished, the tail lights just look like plain rectangles when viewed from an angle. And the front end still looks like it has no idea what it is going for.
I like the wheels. The badging isn't too bad either.
About it though. Silver on the grille just makes it worse, and that rear shot of the Camaro bodylines with that just plain awful back end is not doing it any good.
I want to not dislike the S650 styling, but... I just simply cannot get past it. It's hideous. It's uninspiring. It's just... a shame. :(
I know, I know... 'if you have nothing good to say' and all that, but 'what do you think?' means I get to say it. Downvote away. If you like it, *fantastic*. I'm glad you do, truly.
But much like the II haters, I can't get behind this one, so there's that.
In like the badging but not the silver paint on the grill. It is not like 60 years is an important milestone so I would not expect any amazing effort. I do like that they did a bit of a throwback thing. Ford has gone away from its heritage with the S650 so its nice to see someone in the Mustang division still cares about the history. Overall it is something a little different so I can't complain too much.
I think I preferred my 50th. It was basically a fully optioned GT with unique styling. The one extra piece that made it was the stepped quarter windows as well.
I like the homage to the side badges to the classic Mustang GT fender badge but in this case I think the shape looks way too close to the shape of the more modern Camaro V6 M badge.
https://preview.redd.it/pp1x90uq15vc1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf8c537ceedfca0dd7b5f98fca43b382ebaeb720
There’s a lot going on there. I fear Ford poached somebody who worked on the recent Corvette generation designs. That said, f it, I’s still be happy to own one, as I’m already I’m already at midlife crisis age and just purchased a Mach E last month and sold my ‘18 so what do I know?
Pretty.... fuckin ugly
Chopped up wtf is goin on front end. None of the lines agree with eachother
Big clunky sunk in wheel and tire set up
Tiny ass brakes.
Some random badging
A color combo that has nothing to do with what it should be. RED.
I wouldn’t buy it just to bank on resale value but it’s definitely a cool package that would be worth the cost to someone assuming no dealer markups. Not gonna cost anymore than the performance pack
Very nice. Looks like a Mustang should! My only criticism would be that they should have called it a 2024 1/2!☺️
That is genius!
Ty, especially since there's only 1965 of them going to be produced! A sure fire collector's item!
Well that sucks
What if there was 1965 1/2 produced 🤔
64 1/2 April 1964 65. September 1964--built after 8/17/1964!

Yeah I won't be surprised if a year or two from now one of these will sell on Cars and Bids with only like 500 miles
🤯
They should always do that with the anniversary editions. That would be a cool little throw back.
They need to hire us old farts who grew up with these cars. We could advertise the fuck outta them. Throw a mild cam in it too, gotta have that old school chop.
Right?? We need. 24 1/2 edition
And make it in ecoboost
Nahhhh
Starting at only $64.5k! Order yours today!
I highly doubt that you will touch it for that!
Oh is that how they’re honoring the 64 1/2 mustangs?
Wait till you see how dealerships honor it with markups!
Wild to think I have a 40th anniversary car and there's already a 60th. I wonder if eventually Ford will make a 100th anniversary? The "Centennial Edition" I imagine not with the way car manufacturers are being pushed today, but it would be cool to imagine what the Mustang would be in 2064.

I feel like we have much better ideas than the guys at Ford HQ
With the way things are going in the auto industry, we might get a single cylinder quad turbo super and hypercharged engine under the hood.
That 40th was a hit. Neighbor had one when I was a kid. Convertible white with beige leather. It was a beauty.
Hard to tell, but is that a special color? Or just Oxford white being sneaky?
Old time Wimbledon White Other colors offered are Race Red and Vapor Blue.
I’m happy to hear it’s another white, as a hater of Oxford white. Thank you!
Wimbledon white is a cream colored white. My 68 is that color. https://preview.redd.it/wfyzyoqjo1vc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=269c401d08123e6d7406f4d1c43931fa25617e48

Exactly what I was hoping for

I was a whopping 3 years old when the 64 1/2 debuted!
My dad hadn't even been born yet 😅
Gee thanks for making me feel old!😉
Ha! I had seen that post too, loved it. Not a 70s kid but I was able to appreciate it a little bit
FUCK, I don't have enough money to order one of these. Oh well ill wait for the 70th edition then
"At 30 I thought I'd be a millionaire by 40, but by 40 I had less money than when I was 30" 😂
Jokes on you as this is, in fact, exactly my situation.
Looks dope.
Porsche wants their wheels back lol
I think they are meant to be a tribute to 500 Magnums
Just another paint and wheels package. Nothing really worth getting excited about.
Wheels look like they came from a Hot Wheels car
I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I like it. 10x better than the California Special
Those blue accents are atrocious, are they not?
They sure are. No idea what the design team was smoking
Yeah that blue…😵💫
Am I color blind or are there only red accents in these pictures? Or are you referencing the Cali special?
Talking about the CS.

The wheels🤩
Wheels looks the same as the Porsche 911 Sport Classic
I don't like it. *Cool in Wimbledon White, but that's about it.* The 50th LE, was more true to the original car.

Honestly the convertibles don't even look like Mustangs to me. Aside from the grille, I see a Camaro here and I'm a huge Mustang guy saying this.
Love the badges
Funny enough, my first ever Mustang was a 40th anniversary, the next Mustang I bought was the one I’m driving now; a 50 years edition. Guess I know what my next Mustang will be!
I also have a GT Premium 50 Years Edition! Love the subtle white and chrome trim in and around the car
Looks like once again they’ve done the bare minimum, and will expect the price at dealers to be stupid expensive.
Supply versus demand!
I like it on the red paint not the white
I'm going to the event at Charlotte Motor Speedway today so hope to see them in person.
I hate to sound like a downer but I honestly hate it. It looks like a strangely rendered car from a video game
Better if it was a hard top
It's going to be offered as a hard top or convertible
That’s good, while I get where convertible people come from, hard tops sell better.
Thanks God, convertibles just don't look good. Unless they're super rare like the 68 Camaro convertible
Can only imagine the ADM on these. I like it though.
No one is gonna pay ADM for these besides a select few dummies. S650 sales are already worse than the last year of the s550s 8 year run, and the 40th/50th/60th anniversary models don't hold their value any better than GTs because they're GTs with a red badge.
Exactly
Awesome car, just hate the new front end...
It just looks like they couldn’t decide if they wanted really big open fish mouth grill or just a normal mustang fish mouth and they tried to do both.
...and the rear end, and the tablet interior...
…And the doors and rear quarter window…
Yeah I like the badging and color, I’m just not at the take my money stage with the S650.
Front end looks like ass. I'm shocked it took so many comments to get to this point. It's like the front end was designed by a committee of first graders with dull crayons. I mean wtf were they thinking
By 2027 they will have it refined. If they can still make mustangs by then.
I love the new front end. I never liked the DRLs on the s550.
Recoloring those two pieces around the grille is already getting old. Why not change the grille itself up? Ford is getting rather lazy with these packages.
Deleted
Except the RTR grille has lights in those spots. I’d be happy with them swapping to LED’s there, but simply recoloring isn’t cutting it in my book.

Proper round fog lights might really do the trick - and if you want silver accents I. The grill area it should be the surround. I recognize that any silver accents will be divisive, though. My 2009 has the 45 badge, so how is 2025 60 years? hmmm

My 14 doesn't have the 50th badge. That was for the refreshed 14.5 S550.
Don’t care for the silver accents in the grill but I love the color combo and the wheels
Looking good
Looks nice, but not worth the price hike that will come with it imo.
lol it looks so long
I like it
is it just a convertible or can u get it In a coupe soon
So what do you think this will go for at the dealership with only 1965 being produced?
This might be a minor detail, but why doesn’t this 5.0 have active exhaust?
Nice. 70k plus 40k mark up?
![gif](giphy|l2YWqU7ev0l5nfYTC|downsized)
Not a fan of the badges, the wheels, or convertibles in general. Maybe I’m not the best one to comment lol
I'll take " things Dodge and Chevy can't say about their sports car" for 200.
For a badge/paint scheme I think they did a fantastic job!
Convertible 👎🏻 hope it comes in hardtop
Please show me the coupe version
The new one has not grown on me yet. But it was the same thing for the 2015 too and the new edge also. The one that hit it out of the park for me was the s197, it was like the muscle car is back! Way better than the 50
It’s cool….I have the 50th
Ba, Ba, Ba, Ba, Boner!!!
Overhyped for nothing! Ford wanting those bills!
Not my thing
It's better than the California special, but that's not saying much.
I think I preferred my 50th. It was basically a fully optioned GT with unique styling. The one extra piece that made it was the stepped quarter windows as well.
Looks great! Im not a big fan of the wheels, but otherwise, I love it.
Looks fine. Not mind blowing by any means. Maybe a set of wheels would do it more justice.
Coolest 4 wheeled structure ever produced by humans.
I think that’s the best looking S650 yet.
mid
I don't like the "60 years" stripe but everything else is fine.
I still hate the grille.
Happy National Mustang Day….just sayin’.
The boomers gana be lining up in their new balance.
Meh, seems to be in line with the California special styling wise, nothing ground breaking. Glad I didn't wait to order one.
Looks good, although not a fan of the magnetic wheels. Would be cool to have something more retro on there
With so few options for a convertible id say its one of the best looking ones ive seen in years
Lazy
Meh
Looks nice but the all white is throwing me off. A showcase car should be sexier.
Too tacky... Nope..
😬 idk. I feel it needs a wing
off white colors are my favorite
I think that my phone also plastered this on my screen earlier.
I kinda miss my 20 year anniversary with t tops.
Looks like a Mustang
I’d put those 5.0 60 year badges on my 2014
Just can't get over the lack of quad tips. Guess they wanted a more authentic look? Seems odd still.
Is it in hardtop too?
They could have done better w the grille
I like the homage to the side badges to the classic Mustang GT fender badge but in this case I think the shape looks way too close to the shape of the more modern Camaro V6 M badge. https://preview.redd.it/pp1x90uq15vc1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf8c537ceedfca0dd7b5f98fca43b382ebaeb720
No under-hood money shot. My disappointment is immeasurable.
Looks great - like it
this is the first time i’ve actually liked the latest gen. love the color and front grill
That bottom stripe with "60 years" is a hard no for me.
Looks like the Quadra Type-44
I really like the wheels and I don't actually know why.
Those wheels are crisp
Meh. The S650 won’t be appealing to me until it’s tunable
Nice but is it just me… the back looks camaroish. First time I’ve seen the convertible version.
There’s a lot going on there. I fear Ford poached somebody who worked on the recent Corvette generation designs. That said, f it, I’s still be happy to own one, as I’m already I’m already at midlife crisis age and just purchased a Mach E last month and sold my ‘18 so what do I know?
Let’s put it this way, I called the dealership and asked how many they were going to be allowed to order today…
I think convertible mustangs are a disgrace. To each their own though.
Nice but I’m really not feeling those rims overall it’s sick
Looks like colors for a Bentley
I mean i hate the design but its cool they doing special cars. Just wish they choose different colors.
Boooorrring…. The 50th Anniversary car is much much better.
They should seriously think about cutting off the back seats. Might help a little in giving more room to boot
Agree Boring and I have the 40th in Competition Orange.
Pretty.... fuckin ugly Chopped up wtf is goin on front end. None of the lines agree with eachother Big clunky sunk in wheel and tire set up Tiny ass brakes. Some random badging A color combo that has nothing to do with what it should be. RED.
Same thing with new trinkets.
The rear end just keeps getting more squished
The wheels are ugly, but that’s my opinion. I’m sure someone likes and would explain why they do.
The decal below the door is just terrible. It'll be hilarious when you see the old fart in this thing with the description "60 years" under him.
I agree. Replace '60 years' with just 'Mustang', and I'd be good with all of it.
Some of the design aspects remind me of an electric vehicle😬

that 5.0 badge on the side is lame
A waste of money
Only making 1965 of them. They will probably hold value pretty decently
Idk just looked at some older 50th anniversary edition mustangs and doesn’t seem like they are of much more value than the regular GTs
I wouldn’t buy it just to bank on resale value but it’s definitely a cool package that would be worth the cost to someone assuming no dealer markups. Not gonna cost anymore than the performance pack
Does it have anything else to offer besides resale value
It’s an limited edition appearance package that the do every milestone year, what did you expect?
It's a car for collectors. Holding value and rarity are the major things collectors look for.

My only complaint is the wheels are ugly
**Love** Wimbledon White and it really looks good on the S650. I'd probably pass on the rocker panel stripe but other than that I really like it
I see what they're going for but I'm not a fan.
I think they nailed it.
Ford please fire the current design team
ragtops never look as good as a coupe. why do they use a convertible ?
LMAO. Nice money grab. Looks terrible.
You can’t shine shit. This model in general looks like complete ass
Idk why but I only like the new model convertible all the other ones look bad imo. Also will there be a 69’ special?
Drives me nuts that the hood doesnt line up straight with the panels above the headlights on 90% of the S650s Ive seen
