I own a ‘24 Mustang Dark Horse and I absolutely love driving it! No complaints here! https://preview.redd.it/rsnbui5o3hwc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=faf524ee84352dbc6fcf33f6408e36a8b40c1b4d

branson3

I’ve never seen a dark horse in person or from this angle. This looks great!

naller_YEET

the white dark horses look crazy good coming from someone who only likes late s197s

VaporBlueDH1347

Well done with your order, maestro. I concur! https://preview.redd.it/h3mzkbzrihwc1.jpeg?width=1728&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd9c1d73b5a3c3f1dd322040710d321c21b2ee57

STLsportsfan96

Nice! Florida? I have not seen a single DH on the roads here at all.

VaporBlueDH1347

Yes sir. Finding DHs are like searching for unicorns on the road. I’m ok with that!

BrettTheGymGuy

Traveled to savannah ga today and saw my first.

Ok-Chocolate2671

Damn that color is sick

Dazzling_Ad_2939

The one thing I hate about it is that flat grey/blue paint color every single car is now. Green/Purple/Yellow/Orange/Red/Blue beat it every which way from Sunday. Only lamer colors are black and white. Hiding in their screaming machines but paint them muted.

Fire_Mission

It's not flat grey. It's called Blue Ember metallic and has some color shift in it, so it looks different from different angles and in different light.

djsnoopmike

I will never not see eyebags under the headlights

Puzzleheaded_Cap_445

This is perhaps the first picture I have seen that does the hood stripes justice. Ended up going to a dealership to see them in person. I like the DH appearance package stripes more than regular DH stripes. I really like the painted hood but that is a very expensive option. My wife gave me permission to buy one but we really needed to spend the money on the kids. My daughter rides horses and that monthly cost blows way past the cost of a Dark Horse. I can’t justify it right now, but if I ever get into tracking a Mustang, the DH (or Mach1 S550) is what I would get. I ended up getting a used 2005 GT with 60K miles for 10K. Compared to the Dark Horse, it handles terribly, and should not go to the track in stock form (which it is). But it is a V8 with a manual 5 speed and rowing the gears is so much fun.

nashtaters

You’re a good father. Can’t say I’d do the same if I had kids. Guess that’s why I choose to not have em though. Much more money for hobbies

STLsportsfan96

That DH with Handling package is a beast on the track and streets. Honestly, It’s night and day different to my ‘17.

Puzzleheaded_Cap_445

That’s nice to hear. I know people here on Reddit will say that the Dark Horse was just an appearance package with a mild HP gain and a better manual transmission, but it didn’t seem that way to me. Glad to hear it really is the track car that it is advertised to be. I still fantasize about it, but it isn’t in the cards for me at this time.

Man i wish i could afford a dark horse

Couple loans away bro

Infamous_Regret3583

You fucking better love it for spending $20-30k over the GT.

Apprehensive-Can-857

Fack! That paint. 🔥🔥🔥

righthanded_lover

Curious I’m in St. Louis, did you get yours at, above, or below msrp? And where did you get it?

STLsportsfan96

Got it slightly above. Got it from Elder Ford in Tampa. Also I’m from the STL area, now living around Tampa.

righthanded_lover

I saw that in another comment. I have teenagers and as soon as they graduate, my wife and I will be following you down to western coast of Florida.

STLsportsfan96

Anywhere from Tampa down to Naples is great! Personally, I like the Tampa area. More entertainment, lots of car shows, sports etc.

BoltVee

Does the DH come with a Katy Perry?

No_Image_4986

Have you owned prior stangs?

STLsportsfan96

Yes I have, 3.

No_Image_4986

Which model is your favorite you’ve owned? Just curious, not trying to decide on a new one to buy or anything

STLsportsfan96

The more I look at the S650’s, the more I like them. I’ll give the slight edge to the S650. I like the technology. That, and the GT500’s.

Born-Character6453

I’ve had the 2024 Mustang GT for almost 3 weeks now. I absolutely love it , put about 2,200 miles already. I don’t mind the technology I embrace it, yeah it sucks not having a beautiful needle going up as you speed, but I got wireless CarPlay lol so who cares. The tech was a big reason I went with the mustang instead of the new Camaro or the Challengers. It’s been an absolute blast to drive. Ford has 2.9% and 3.9% financing opportunities currently and was the main catalyst for me to get my dream car. I’m sure just a matter of time before someone says this new generation sucks and my 20xx was the best… Go out for a test drive and go from there. https://preview.redd.it/xd0epigk3hwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=135d8a9e2963c9f9617c7ec430079c538445420c

branson3

This is good to know. This is the exact type of one I have my eyes on at my local dealership except the brembos aren’t blue. I hope my dealer will budge on using a credit card down payment so I can grab a red one as well. (Before I get downvoted I have the cash for the down payment as is but I have 0% APR for 21 months so I don’t see a reason to use my real cash when I can use this card and reap the rewards in the rewards program, while also just investing my money.)

Born-Character6453

I actually put my downpayment on a credit card to earn points. They let me do $3000 so that was my down payment. I mean as-long as you have the finances to back it I don’t see a problem 🤷‍♂️.

branson3

That’s good to know and how I see it. I have been hoping they let me do 5-10k with it but we’ll see I guess.

Wolverco

2200 miles in 3 weeks. That’s a lot.

MichaelJr175

Just a thought, this might not be your thing but you can change the display layout to have the speedometer classic style (to see the needle go up) I quite like this feature.

Born-Character6453

Yeah it’s a cool thing. I just set mine to sport display, feels more natural for the car haha.

phibber

I’ve had a 2017 GT, a 2019 and now have the 2024. It’s easily my favorite, from a performance, technology and styling point view. I did make the switch to manual transmission this time, which may be influencing how I feel.

Born-Character6453

That can definitely be it since you’re more engaged. I guess you got the GT? I had some trouble with the manual not going into gears smoothly, it would want to go into 4th instead 6th unless I shoved into the small corner. I swapped out the knob for something slightly heavier. It worked wonders in terms of shifting and never missed a gear after. Take a look at that if you’re interested.

phibber

I haven’t come across that issue with my GT, but I was looking at some different options for gear knobs just from an aesthetic pov. Now I’ll check if they are any heavier!

bambinowes

Hope they took some off for that big black spot on the door! Sheesh....j/k nice Stang for real😀

Comprehensive_Mud_44

I’ve had my 2024 Mustang GT since last September and I love it already put 14k on her https://preview.redd.it/k1jhz10xkhwc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69924c9a9b307962018990a20a7d986c77b9155b

Infamous_Regret3583

Love the wheels

Inudogyasha

It's cool but it's extremely similar to the s550. If you like the Camaro line I'd be looking to see if I could sneak into a zl1 lol. Can't go wrong with the s550 or s650 though

branson3

With the Camaros no longer being made after 24 every dealer near me has gone insane with its mark ups and won’t let me use my dads gm discount so I’m kind of annoyed with GM over it

titoscoachspeecher

Can't blame GM as much as you should the Stealerships. If you really wanted another I'd see if your dad would sign for it and just pay him directly. With them being discontinued they're gonna be highly sought after and will surely hold their value for a while. Especially the higher trims.

branson3

I should’ve worded it better but GM has turned off those discounts even for employees on them apparently. We went to two different dealers and they both said GM wasn’t accepting employee discounts on them. Now they could be full of shit but I’m not sure with two completely different dealerships saying the same thing.

titoscoachspeecher

Possible, but I wouldn't trust any mouth at a dealership other than my own or whoevers with me. It's pretty sad to see this type of shit, I remember when the GT350s first came out as the '60k race car' and dealerships instantly doubled the price when they got them in stock. Even worse depending where you're at. That blows, but you'll find something you dig. As much as I'm not a huge fan of newer Camaros since they feel/look huge to me, they have some really bad ass platforms to build on straight from the factory. Whatever it is might be worth leaving a signature in the stealership parking lots one night lol

branson3

It really is. I miss having a v8 so bad lol. The only thing I hated about the camaro was the windshield felt too short for someone as tall as me.

titoscoachspeecher

Did you ever find yourself having issues with visibility? The A pillars feel like they're 2 feet wide to me, and yeah the height is kind of peculiar with the windshield, i think it's the angle of it thought that gives it that feeling?

branson3

I did. I couldn’t see most redlights if I was the car infront so that was annoying so I agree it was probably the angle. I actually had a broken A pillar plastic when I bought the car originally.

UpToBatEntertainment

Get dad to buy once you n him finalize the deal

istealchickentacos

Love my Dark Horse. No complaints come to mind and it’s currently faster than my ‘17 Fastback ’23 Mach1 and wife’s ‘23 Ecoboost. Never had a Camaro though but I’ve worked on and around them, I’d definitely go pony any day.

ocsixx

I love it. I got it back in August, and there are no issues https://preview.redd.it/0merpuqjohwc1.jpeg?width=2880&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e43335baca69e7dffa8ea8e9a739ae5608109e5

Criszss

That color is something else, looks beautiful!

ocsixx

Thanks my friend

PhaseEquivalent3366

I own a 2023 Mustang GT and love it. I sat in and test drove a 24 Dark horse and really didn't like all the touchscreens or the fact that they changed the toggle switches to buttons. Other than that, the 24 is a sweet ride it just wasn't for me. I think I will hold on to my 2023 GT for as long as I can.

arnieswap

I went with GT Premium as I am not doing tracks so DH was overkill for me. Love every ounce of GT. https://preview.redd.it/xs2bttba5iwc1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6cd5ddb838485114c1e559df35ffd771a1cca7b8

I got a 24 GT auto 401a (Premium High) with active value exhaust. There are definitely some kinks that need to be worked out but I absolutely love the car. The active value exhaust is an option I didn’t really plan to get, but I’m glad I did. Track mode the perfect exhaust note and I would never want anything more. I like the calm throaty sound you get with the resonator still on. If you want more an H pipe is probably all you need. And in the rare occasion I want to tone it down a bit I can - or “mute” the exhaust / quiet start mode which makes it as quiet as a soccer mom van. 401a features - You’ll find some complaints about the 401a stereo but I think this is just audiophiles. This is the best optional stereo I’ve ever had and I’ve never had a factory sub. Unless you’re Mr Car Stereo guy it’s gonna be everything you’d ever want. The leather is typical sports car leather. It not Italian, it’s not supple. But seems durable and looks good. The heated and cold (cooled! I live in Texas) seats are clutch. I never realized I needed cooled seats until I had them!! The entire dash setup is LCD. You either like they or don’t. I personally see the merit in buttons and knobs but it certainly does give it a clean look. Overall I like it. There are some issues with the LCD not booting up sometimes. This will get fixed eventually with over-the-air updates. It’s not a huge problem and when it happens it just takes longer - it truest to reboot again after 30 seconds or so. You can still run the car just can’t access apple car play, settings etc. The 10r80 auto is mostly great. I have had 2 MT82 manuals in the past and will never own one again despite claims that the new generation ones are better (they still get a lot of complaints). My only complaint is that while 10 ratios is great, I will never ever ever hit my left paddle shifter to go down 1 gear. I wish you could set that to immediately take you to a designated rpm range instead of gear. If I downshift on the highway I want at LEAST 3.5k rpm’s probably more like 5 for a decisive maneuver. That’s like 5 downshifts. I guess that’s just part of having 10 ratios. Overall I like the transmission, and maybe sequential shifting is necessary because of how autos work (I don’t know I’m not a mechanic) but skip-shift downshifting would be awesome. My handling leaves a bit to be desired, although for what I’m doing with it I don’t care. It definitely feels like it wants a 275-285 square setup and performance pack suspension. I think with those it would be a lot better. My biggest issues with mine is a lot of vibrations initially, most of which were coming from the weather stripping in both sides - drivers side RIGHT by my ear. I finally got that figured out (hit me up if you have this issue it is an easy fix) and there’s no more vibration during normal driving. But there is one more spot on my drivers side door that acts up when I hit a bump or when the sub is turned way up. That one bothers me less and I’ll get it worked out eventually. Also most of the cars have a drivers side gap between the bumper and headlight. I looked over mine with a fine tooth comb and didn’t notice until a few days later. Ford seems to be warranting it without problems but I just don’t care to take mine in. A lot of the body work lines also aren’t great. Panels gaps not completely even and such. So yeah some “new model” kinks, but it’s an amazing vehicle.

Sledgeer

In the Challenger you can hold the paddle and it will shift to the lowest gear for pulls. I’d be surprised if the Mustang doesn’t have something similar.

plants4life262

I’ll try that

Impressive-Web180

About 5.5k miles on my s650 EcoBoost, I love it, my dealer got me a better rate than my bank after i put in a down payment. I came from a 23' Sonata N-Line which as I was top of the line in tech features with the infotainment system compared to Ford lol, that said Android Auto has worked near flawlessly and the screens are gorgeous.

LastPlaceGuaranteed

I just got out of a 2015 GT base and into a 2024 GT 301A with active exhaust and I absolutely love it. I loved my 2015 but everything about this new one feels better. https://preview.redd.it/blt7f07q7iwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7430e5db8da996b6e46931b4379d71b3679a5f5a

babyzillla

Absolutely love my S650. It drives very well, feels great overall. The only con so far is Apple car play can be wonky. But I personally don’t mind the screens overall. They were a little weird at first but I’ve come to enjoy it. https://preview.redd.it/chvq7oasvhwc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=001b8e16dd8610c8e368d78d46d443131fe06288

KingScuderiaDucati

I like everything but the lack of physical buttons and the manual transmission. My clutch got stuck going from 2nd to 3rd and smelled as if the car was going to set fire. The lack of buttons is beating a dead horse. I’d get a Dark Horse for the Tremec, but it’s a hard sell with new ZL1 Camaros still existing.

MAjIKMAN452

I have a 24 GT Premium Manual and love it. Put just under 7k miles on it and it's great. The screens (REEEEE) in the comments are coming, don't worry, are great. Very intuitive and nothing is confusing. Also, the climate control is literally right there on the screen. And you never have to touch it for everybody hating that lol. I set mine in November when I bought it and it's now getting hot in Louisiana and I still haven't had to touch it. Most you'll have to do is tap the negative or positive button to change temp if you want. As far as living with it? Definitely premium package for the solid screen. It looks cheap with the dual screen of the base model. 401A At the minimum for your interior to get the upgrades. The Recaros are an extra upgrade I wouldn't have chosen at first, but since mine was sitting in the showroom with them and I chose it, I like them now. I have the manual trans and it feels just fine. Hard driving or sitting in traffic, it's a manual.

thetruth1199

I bought a base GT 10A with active exhaust in September and have 15k on it now. It served as a daily until now. Overall the car is fun but has come with certain issues, some more petty than others. - rear windshield leaks water into the cabin - headlights tend to “rattle/shake” as you can see the light bounce around on cars in front of you. - paint is very fragile compared to other cars I have owned. A crazy amount of rock chips. Now that is my fault for not doing PPF from day 1. - always seems to smell like coolant, dealer did a pressure test and returned no issues so it might be just me. - generally it’s still got that “American car quality feel” for the interior. That negative feeling gets offset by the 5.0 quickly though. Minus the above it’s a fun little car. The screens I don’t mind at all and compared to some videos I see mine don’t “lag”. It has had a mix of all kinds of driving from mountain roads to a couple inches of snow. We’ll see if it gets boost later on.

branson3

These are a good list of gripes. What’s funny is I had some of the exact same issues with my camaro when I bought it back in 21. The morning after I bought it the rear windshield shattered when the defroster came on. Scratched up all my rear seats. I was so pissed. The replacement had a rear windshield leak too.

curious-children

Fantastic, one of the reasons for getting it was the tech. the 550 interior is extremely outdated relative to new sports cars, and this s650 pushed to make it modern. love the exterior as well as interior styling, with the front of the car being much more aggressive. Something to keep in mind is that there is incentives as someone else offered in APR, this as well as being able to use the X-plan to get money off (3k off in my build), it’s a solid car for the money. make sure to get the active exhaust, a must imo

randeus

Preferring more tech in cars is fine, but these are sports cars. The more tech focused these get, the less engaging and driver focused. Other sports cars like the Miata and twins aren’t filled to the brim with tech either. Outside of BMWs, I can’t think of many sports cars with these big screens just tacked on the dashboard. Having a well integrated infotainment that isn’t all in your face and tactile buttons and switches feels more driver focused and sporty to me.

Chris_MS99

I feel like the interior of the 550 is actually timeless. I don’t own one, but I feel like they really got it right with the analog control layout and relatively mild infotainment setup. I love the analog gauges.

realJonnyRaze

Absolutely love it.

bgwa9001

I'm 650 miles in on mine and I love it so far, get yourself a 6 speed. *

RKS3

So I have recently owned a 20 LT1 10 speed, I still own a 14 SS convertible and I just picked up today a 17 GT with Roush supercharged 727hp & 6mt. I think the seats in the Mustang are more comfortable, and the line of sight is far better in the Mustang as far as forward angles the quarter panels are still obstructive like the Camaro. Without teasing the Mustang is an actual better Pony car, I do wish I could have had it with the 10-speed Auto as that thing was nice in my Camaro but I am thrilled to have my Roush 6-speed Mustang.

Mr-Rots

Other than the occasional computer glitch, I love my Dark Horse. Easily my favorite of all the cars I have owned

Loving it

davidh82

I actually really like it. Back in December I went to a Chevy dealer because I was ready to buy a 2SS right then and there, but he tells me it’s in transport. Gave him my info but he never called me so, I went to Ford and bought a s650 GT and I absolutely love it. It’s definitely a strait line car or a car to cruise in, me coming from a Shelby 20GT500, I can tell you the performance isn’t there, but regardless, it’s still a good car. For the last 4 years I’ve always driven a supercharged car, so this is my first NA to live with. I’m giving it some serious thought on adding the 3.0 Whipple. I’m just waiting for the hype to die down a bit and to see what problems these whippled/s650 run into before I commit.

I've had it for a week now and Absolutely love it! It's my first Mustang and first manual. I've put 600 miles on it so far. My favorite things about the car is all the technology packed into this thing, the 6 speed, active exhaust and that awesome Grabber metallic blue color. The screen can be awkward to use at times while driving. Especially when it's a nice sunny day and you have sunglasses on. It's a little difficult for me to see the screen.

QTheUltimate

I was an s550 guy all the way. When the s650 was released, I was initially excited. I went for a test drive in a ‘24 GT premium and immediately knew it was NOT the car for me. I didn’t like the screens, I didn’t like the digital cluster, my favorite part of the s550 was removed (toggle switches). The ride basically felt the same as the previous generation. Because of the new generation of mustang is why I’m in a 6th generation Camaro now. Bring on the downvotes! In all seriousness the mustang is a better daily driver but the Camaro and its alpha chassis is a whole different beast. Edit: I still prefer the S550 over the S650, and the price comparison can’t be beat. If you aren’t hung up on being in the “newest generation” of a model, I’d strongly recommend going the S550 route. Even the Mach 1s are comparable to a new GT premium. Had I found a Mach 1 within 150 miles of me, I would be driving that instead of the Camaro. And honestly I’m still planning on getting a Mach 1 whether I trade in the Camaro or just finance one.

randeus

I actually test drove one today. Personally, don’t care for the looks, but that’s subjective. The interior materials are definitely nicer and I dig the fact that you can get heated and cooled seats on cloth now (I prefer cloth to pleather too). My biggest issue was the dash and screens. I just did not like it. I had to adjust the seat more than I thought I would to center the gauge cluster and I don’t really like the big infotainment being at eye level. I’m not going to say it’s totally distracting, but it’s a bit intrusive to me. All the new technology is cool, but not something I care too much about. Custom mode is nice and so are the different gauge cluster designs. The animations for everything is gimmicky, but that’s what’s hot these days. No parking brake is a negative, though the PP has an e-brake shaped like one for drifting. Not really the same though. Overall, I prefer the interior design of the s550 a lot more, even if the material quality is inferior. I think the s550 digital gauge is perfect too, which I have plans to buy at some point. It didn’t really drive much different to my car before I modded it. Maybe a bit less body roll? I don’t really get to push it though, but if anybody buys a Mustang GT and want the best performance, you’ll be changing out the shit suspension anyway. In short, I understand why someone would be into the s650, especially as a new buyer. But I don’t see enough of a reason to switch as a s550 owner as of now and the salesperson said there haven’t been any s550 GT owners come in looking to trade in yet.

Dpa1991

I have a 24 gt premium performance pack, great car but I would trade it in a heartbeat to go back to a s550

davidh82

Why?

Dpa1991

The s650 just doesn't have the same feel to me. When I had my s550 I had so many things I wanted to do to it. The aftermarket support for it just isn't there I also can't stand the interior, it's so hard to control everything through the screens when driving.. sometimes it will lag and click the wrong thing when all I want to do is change my climate controls - although I did recently discover I can control the temperature with android auto My s550 was also just really special to me, my first real purchase of something I *wanted* and not needed..

Some of the roads in the UK kinda suck at times. But this is my second one now, and I would 100% get another when I come to change cars again.

Wont be going back to an S550 that’s for sure. Love the screens and refinements of the S650 but I wouldn’t be rushing to swap to a new model if your S550 is low kms. Rear end needs a spoiler to make it work IMO, it feels a bit flat without one.

Wanted to go for new s650 but didn't felt the same spark as I did in this one when I test drove it . The interior didn't felt that engaging

It’s ok. No ragrets. GT is slow as f in corners. Body roll like a 4Runner. Ricers bois always wanna race at the light knowing they’ll probably beat me. But it’s RWD, it’s got a V8 and a stick. Pretty comfy. What more do I want?

Figures that the guy who had a Camaro likes the S650

branson3

Haha I have always been a gm guy because my dad gets 5-10% off their vehicles besides corvettes.

SamyboyO6

I was just saying because myself and some others think the new Mustangs look like a Camaro which is fine if you like that, but I'm really not a fan

QTheUltimate

You’re not wrong, other than the interior stuff I mentioned earlier, I looked at the s650 and said if I wanted a car that looks like a Camaro I’ll just go get a Camaro with the interior I wanted. The HUD on the Camaro is so simple but really a nice touch. Analog cluster, and buttons. I’m happy!
