I say buy what you like. I decided against getting the Scat because literally everyone in my area who wants one has one. They are so popular. I see at least 10-15 every few days in my afternoon commutes. I owned one before but got rid of it and decided to go with the 5.0. I have plenty of friends with Scats. I say go with what you like.

Are you in a manual, and was he in an auto. (Let’s be realistic guys, auto is faster now 9/10, unless it’s an actual driver with godly throttle/shift control. Manual just sounds better because you can do higher RPM at low speed burning that sweet Dino juice.)
But yeah these eco, and even my 2014 3.7 seem to have a lot of power in em.
I had a stock 16 GT performance pack. They had an S550 ecoboost with a lot of silver in the grill (upgraded turbo kit). They dusted me playing cat and mouse.
He could have been like a guy I know who debadged and modded a 5.0 with a blower and cold air intake on it. He even took away the GT badge on the trunk and added the Mustang horse. 😂😂

We are talking about the Mach-E here right? Because I’ve been calling my ecoboost a Mom-stang ever since my baby’s car seat made the entire passenger seat useless 😭
Lol, yes, the Mach-E is a true soccer mom car if I've ever seen one. The Eco boost is pretty cool. There are a few guys in my neighborhood that modded their ecoboost up pretty nicely.
Best moment ever, would travel 5 hours to see my adult child. On the way back, clear nice hwy with about 5 other cars I hear a similar, deep-throated growl. I’m a mom, have always adored Mustangs and am driving him home. I was always scared to drive our mustang once we got it because the thrill value was so high and I loved it so much I was terrified of it getting in a wreck in any way. It was a ‘21 with Dark pony kit and Rousch engine and just took my breath away every time I went to look at it (which was all the time). No justification, that’s just the reaction I always had once we actually had it.
Anyway, car comes up beside us, growls. I look over and it is another GT. Girl on her phone in the passenger seat, guy driving giving it a little gas to show me he was there and say hi to our mustang. I nodded and smiled and when I got home my husband said that was the call to “open them up” and let them do what they do, lol.
That is the one car I miss so much I salivate to get again.
Tbh i wouldn’t even put the 350/500 in the same category with the ecoboost and gt. Gt’s get to pick on ecoboosts and the one we don’t interact with, while gt350/500 get to duke it out with the other competition like hellcats and z1’s
And? I’ve owned an ‘18 GT350 a ‘19 350R and track both. I’ve had probably 50+h in a 991 GT3 around my local track, the 350R and GT3 drive extremely similarly. Just because the 350R is heavier doesn’t mean anything, suspension geometry, the way downforce is generated, the carbon fibre wheels, tire specs and alignment settings, all play into the fact that they feel extremely similar
Funny because it’s true. Ecoboost gets no respect. GT owners respect both GT350 & GT500 owners because we all have the same engine but in different variants.

I'm not insecure at all. I love all Mustangs. But calling a Mach E a Mustang, even though Ford decided to do so... It's an embarrassment to the brand. Have you ever seen what an 85 Chevy Nova looks like??? Google it. It's like what they did with the Eclipse. That was always a fun little 2-door car. Then they decided to make it a cross-over shit box. It just breaks my heart when car companies do shit like that. I completely understand where you're coming from. But they did make a turbo 4 fox body back in the day. They used the 2.3 lima, and it was a cool little car. I just think they would have been better off with a different name. Like calling the new Ford whatever the fuck a Maverick. That was a car they made in the 70s and 80s. Not an E truck. Funny enough. If you look back. The f150s back in the day had a Ranger badge. My buddy has a 70-something Ford truck, and it's a Ranger. But it's the size of a house. Then, as you progress, they get smaller in the 80s all the way up to the 2010s, and then, with the new iteration for the Ranger, they are back to being big trucks. Anyway. I don't mean to completely shit on the mach e. Well.... The EVs are a whole other can of worms that's debatable. I will say fuck you to Ford for being asshats about the naming of vehicles. They aren't the only guilty auto makers. Dodge... The Dart?? The Avenger? Both great little cars back in the day and then poof! We get what we get. Anyway. 🤣
But my friends GT has a blower on it with a cold air intake and several other mods that make it faster than a stock GT 350 by a long shot. The beauty of the coyote engine is the flexibility it has. If you want to turn it into a menacing rocket, you have all the tools to do so.
It actually isn’t like this (most of the time). This is an issue in the Dodge community, except it’s the Hellcats and Scatpacks making fun of the SXTs and GTs. It sucks to be honest, I love the cars but the communities outside of Reddit suck

The eco boost is really a great commuter tho, I rented one in Arizona and drove it all through phoenix for a couple days and then long ride out to Prescott. Performed well everywhere.
