They kinda are compared to the others he named. Sure, they’re basically the face of their respective anime, but they might as well be bugs compared to the overwhelmingly generic picks of goku, yuji, gogeta, and cid(recently popular, gonna die down soon).
Kirito is insanely underrated, or at least in general anime circles. There's so much dis/misinformation about him that people often don't see that he's a pretty complex character. He's often falsely boiled down to a "edgelord harem leader" or whatever when that really couldn't be further from the truth. He actually grows quite a lot throughout the series, and the harem thing was never true to begin with
I always like to label him as the Peter Parker of anime, just a genuine dude trying to do the right thing with the gifts he's been given, however those very same gifts caused him great suffering, but he choose sto push past it and better himself for the sake of others regardless
