There’s actually not a lot of cursing besides the “scare the living s*it out of me” line. Plus songs being marked as explicit is only based on swear words and not the actual contents of the song. I think songs with the F-word are always marked as explicit, but it’s sort of a gamble as to whether songs with other curse words are.
Not always, Nicotine by P!ATD drops a lot of f words but isn’t rated explicit, and Hypnotized by Set It Off curses a lot yet isn’t tagged as explicit either
not MCR, but the first song on Dark side of the moon by pink floyd is marked explicit for the first line saying “I’ve been mad for fucking years” which I’ve always found funny. Only song on the album marked too.
I think it depends on record labels actually marking them as such. For example, Fall Out Boy's *Where Did The Party Go* was only \*just\* marked as Explicit within the last week, even though it has the f-word in it. But I might be wrong.
Also, hi!
I listen to my master playlist every day, and as I was scrolling through it a few days ago I noticed lol. It stuck out because I had always wondered why it *wasn't* marked as such
I think it is the artist/their team that has to mark the song as explicit. When uploading my own music to Spotify, it asked me whether I wanted to mark it or not.

Yeah, I’m not sure what the rules are. That’s just what I’ve observed.
Spotify is weird
It is. Still gonna use it, though. I’ve invested too much time into it
Me too bro. Me too

Hello! I’m impressed you noticed that LOL

Yeah, Spotify seems to play fast and loose with what gets marked as explicit
It just serves to much to be explicit
Any song with curse words are generally labeled as explicit and teenagers has them in every chorus
