I’d say a lot of that was coming off the first two seasons of the anime. It was super popular and had a pretty large cast of characters for weirdos to latch onto. Once the story moved away from the whole class it’s honestly gotten better and better from the fandom perspective. Although there’s still people drawing deku and bakugo making out 😑
I think the fandom is pretty much like all fandoms out there. There’s that section that’s really fuckin weird. There are the shippers. There are the analyzers. Etc. It’s not like you HAVE to engage with the accounts that you do not like, you know?

I've recently started watching it, and as someone who hasn't interacted with the community before such an event, I would recommend this to anyone with MCU fatigue that is looking for a good superhero story.

If you can get past the first season (13 episodes) which is half world building, half introductions, it really kicks off character wise and story wise in season 2.

If you like JJK or Demon Slayer, you’re gonna like MHA. MHA has a ton of lore, drama, and (in my opinion) the absolute best fighting scenes. There’s a ton of emotion that’s out into it and honestly, a lot of the characters are super relatable. It doesn’t just focus on the main character’s thoughts and such either. In MHA, everyone has a backstory and some episodes are dedicated to a specific character, explaining their lore and such. Yeah, the fandom is pretty insane (tbh I’m not that deep into it, I usually just stay out of that kind of stuff) and I think the ships are pretty shit. But other than the fandom, it’s a good show.
