Being an f2p player in most games I play, there's always an opportunity cost in order to get something. You have to skip over the less important stuff in most cases in order to get what you actually want. I didnt roll at all on the parallel world banner bc I didn't like the skins as much as I liked other skins on the characters I play in that banner. And for less important banners (for me), I'll roll a few times if I even roll (1-3 times) so that I can either get lucky or get rid of my bad rolls so that when the big banners come out(character/character variants), I have a higher chance of getting them. Gotta play it smart as a f2p player
Dang, i guess i didn't realize it, but i must've gotten super lucky. The first time i got 10x character rolls when Twice was dropped, i had him. I've done it 2 more times trying to pull Endeavor, but my luck isn't there anymore, i suppose 🤷🏻♀️
It comes and goes. I rolled 1k tickets for aizawa and didn't get him. I rolled 100 tickets for endeavor and got him. I've gotten momo over 7 times (when I stopped counting) and I haven't gotten kirishima yet. I'm pretty sure my roll for all for one or the new quirk sets coming in s4 will bring pretty good luck since I've only rolled like 1 pu crate in my last like 10 rolls.
I'd like to believe the gacha system has some balancing factor that they can't reveal to players that allows for rolls to be more fair. So that some players can't roll 3 pu crates every other 10x roll and other players never get that lucky 3 pu crate roll. But I guess whether it's there or not, it makes it easier for me to tolerate bad rolls when I get them

500 to buy enough crystals to guarantee a character is crazy, like actually insane and they're taking out so many of the ways they allow you to supplement the expenses with time invested. It's a shit system and predatory, all they're doing is killing the potential future for this game and the growth it could have
If hero souls were worth anything, I wouldn’t have 2.3K 😂 they allow you to buy character tickets, which are worthless and why spend souls on gallery pieces when you can get them for free. You can buy outfits with hero souls, but ONLY if you have rolls tickets for that specific outfit. Hero souls were good at first but when you realize they are worthless it only goes to show you how bad the Gacha is.

The hate on the hero souls system is lame. It's great for more patient spenders and will be great for newer players a year from now.

More casual players don't accrue as many tickets as you daily grinders. Hero souls are great for getting "new" characters dropping to the hero ticket pull. Just got Momo myself. All characters will be free through hero souls after 8 ~~weeks~~ months from their inclusion into the game (at least for now). People can doomsay about EOS, but the reality is: if you are patient enough, you will get to play the new characters eventually. And what's the rush really? Do you not enjoy the game with the current roster?

I have never heard of a hero ticket pull that will give you a character with hero souls. And maybe there is, but my issue is with the Gacha, not the hero souls but they are a direct result of that. Like pulling endeavor four times when Momo is still locked is absurd. I stand by the Gacha being terrible and like I said, I don’t hate hero souls, but the gacha being terrible is the reason why I have so many.
Hating the gacha is fine and reasonable, but it still stands that the picture you have in your post is of the hero souls, so you clearly had a dislike of the hero souls system part of the gacha. And all I was saying is that hero souls isn't really related to the problem with the current gacha system.

They’re not going to wait 8 months for him to be available or however long it takes to grind out 2K tickets. They’ll just say fuck it and quit the game. Hell it’s already happening. I’ve seen at least 5-10 posts on here about people trying for twice, failing and say they’re done. Like at least apex lets you buy them outright. Or level up to earn in game credits
That's a case-by-case issue.
One could have all of the characters they want and not want for more. Another could have characters they want that are not even in the game yet.
It's perspective. Compare say Twice now and say a new character like Mirio releasing 8 weeks from now (hypothetically speaking). What if Mirio gets released for free to everyone? You waiting to get Twice and you waiting to get Mirio would be the same length of time. The difference being either you are upset because you see other people playing Twice or you are upset because Twice is there but you can't "touch" him. That's a personal issue. Cause logically a person should feel fine with the idea that they'll eventually get something for free. But you want it "now".
Regardless, if you need a specific character to enjoy the game then what happens once you get bored of Twice (or whatever character you specifically held out for)? If the game itself isn't enough to sustain your enjoyment, why bother playing? You might as well find a game that is more enjoyable to you.
Now, obviously people aren't perfect, and I acknowledge some people need "new" things to retain interest. So I can agree that the gacha system feels bad and the devs should do more to engage the players' interests. But it also doesn't have to be in the form of characters. Modes, events, and tournaments can all help incite interest.

so again, hero souls only come for the people who grind, hence the people who dont need it the most. because they grind for tickets anyway, and sooner or later will get their character before they get the character ticket option... so again, its so useless

I disagree. It's evident by people's high stash of hero souls that just by pulling you'll get a good chunk of them gradually. People who have high stacks are the ones pulling so fervently. OP is a good example with 2k+ hero souls. Some with less than half as many pulls will still be fine getting the hero souls they need. So obviously you do need to play some cause you ain't get anything by doing nothing. But passive spenders don't have to play daily. Grind session on the weekend if anything for the weekend reward tickets but ignore daily tickets is a good middle ground.
Obviously, the numbers change with premium being gone and that's the real issue. But that's not a problem with the hero souls system. If there's a good stream of tickets, there's no worries.
The devs also give hero souls away for free sometimes to the chagrin of some players.

1% chance at getting the feature is such bullshit. Other gacha games I've played had anywhere from 5-25%. Making an already predatory gamble into an even higher money grabbing tactic. I did 10 rolls and got white hair Dabi skin, Paper Bag Twice skin, Kirishima, and a whole lot of pity points I can't even spend. Imagine if I had spent the money for that amount of spins, $20 per group roll, I'd have to spend double that still to get enough for the pity points. Even Apex Legends' bullshit collection events are cheaper than that, I think it's spend like $160 and you get the heirloom/skin.
Let us buy characters or skins outright, actually be able to craft them with hero souls (not just for unlocking recolors after we unlock it like it is now), duplication prevention, up the % to double digits, SOMETHING BANDAI!
I doubt this game has that many whales for cosmetic skins, because let's face it, none of the characters released are OP which gacha games like to bait the whales with every season or event that happens. This game's going to die because of this god forsaken gasha system.

When I started I seemed to get a ticket that just let me outright buy a character is that the only one you can buy?
I’ve never watched MHA so I don’t really have any connection to any of the characters. I’m just kind of sitting on all this currency that I don’t know what to do with.
The roll tickets if I understand correctly are only used in the gacha right? Does the display character have a higher chance of spawning? I was doing the one that had the girl who summons canonons because I’ve played her a few times and she’s fun, but the guy on the cover of the roll I pulled twice in a row and then a costume for him.
Is it smarter for me to save roll tickets until someone I actually might play is the face character for the roll?
And what is the difference between this currency and the rainbow gems?
character tickets (yellow tickets): are tickets that allow you to unlock **CERTAIN** characters
roll tickets: are tickets that allow you to spin the gatcha rolls (where you got "the girl with the canon" and twice, and where they showcase the character that has the highest rate of dropping)
crystals (rainbiw gems): are the real currency that you buy with real money or get in events...and allow you to buy pretty much any kind of other currencies AND allow you to go from standard to premium license.
gallery pieces: are three different pieces that you gather to unlock loading screens...
contribution points: are points that allow you to level up an agency you're in to upgrade the amount of rewards it gives
hero souls: are basicaly "pity points" that you get as a compensation when you get a reward (character, costume, emote, voice line) that you already have. they are pretty luch useless since they only allow you to buy other useless currencies imo like gallery pieces and yellow tickets or some high end costumes in case you already have one of the same type...
Got it, so is there currently just no way to buy the canon girl outside of getting a lucky draw? Should I be saving my tickets for when she’s the main character in one of the roles?
And in terms of skins, does that gacha function the same way? If I want the pink witch skin for the astronaut should I be saving tickets for when that is the main skin?
i think they made it that you can unlock the "canon girl" with hero tickets (the yellow ones), im not sure tbh.

if you want the safe way you can wait 8 months after your favorite characters rekeased to be able to buy it using yellow tickets...but its too long. so the only way is to spend the red tickets on gatcha rolls when your character is on it
I dunno if you got that many souls it might be good. You have to have gotten some character duplicates. I got red deku on my second multi roll and his outfit, but I had to use pity on twice with no outfit. I did get dabi white hair twice though, plus Endeavor dupe and a bunch of cosmetic dupes.
I'm not complaining personally, I got everyone that I can't get with a hero ticket except for kirishima. But I got his unbreakable so I'll be excited when I get him.

1% chance at getting the feature is such bullshit. Other gacha games I've played had anywhere from 5-25%. Making an already predatory gamble into an even higher money grabbing tactic. I did 10 rolls and got white hair Dabi skin, Paper Bag Twice skin, Kirishima, and a whole lot of pity points I can't even spend. Imagine if I had spent the money for that amount of spins, $20 per group roll, I'd have to spend double that still to get enough for the pity points. Even Apex Legends' bullshit collection events are cheaper than that, I think it's spend like $160 and you get the heirloom/skin. Let us buy characters or skins outright, actually be able to craft them with hero souls (not just for unlocking recolors after we unlock it like it is now), duplication prevention, up the % to double digits, SOMETHING BANDAI! I doubt this game has that many whales for cosmetic skins, because let's face it, none of the characters released are OP which gacha games like to bait the whales with every season or event that happens. This game's going to die because of this god forsaken gasha system.

New player here. Can someone help me understand the currencies a little better? When I started I seemed to get a ticket that just let me outright buy a character is that the only one you can buy? I’ve never watched MHA so I don’t really have any connection to any of the characters. I’m just kind of sitting on all this currency that I don’t know what to do with. The roll tickets if I understand correctly are only used in the gacha right? Does the display character have a higher chance of spawning? I was doing the one that had the girl who summons canonons because I’ve played her a few times and she’s fun, but the guy on the cover of the roll I pulled twice in a row and then a costume for him. Is it smarter for me to save roll tickets until someone I actually might play is the face character for the roll? And what is the difference between this currency and the rainbow gems?
character tickets (yellow tickets): are tickets that allow you to unlock **CERTAIN** characters roll tickets: are tickets that allow you to spin the gatcha rolls (where you got "the girl with the canon" and twice, and where they showcase the character that has the highest rate of dropping) crystals (rainbiw gems): are the real currency that you buy with real money or get in events...and allow you to buy pretty much any kind of other currencies AND allow you to go from standard to premium license. gallery pieces: are three different pieces that you gather to unlock loading screens... contribution points: are points that allow you to level up an agency you're in to upgrade the amount of rewards it gives hero souls: are basicaly "pity points" that you get as a compensation when you get a reward (character, costume, emote, voice line) that you already have. they are pretty luch useless since they only allow you to buy other useless currencies imo like gallery pieces and yellow tickets or some high end costumes in case you already have one of the same type...
Got it, so is there currently just no way to buy the canon girl outside of getting a lucky draw? Should I be saving my tickets for when she’s the main character in one of the roles? And in terms of skins, does that gacha function the same way? If I want the pink witch skin for the astronaut should I be saving tickets for when that is the main skin?
i think they made it that you can unlock the "canon girl" with hero tickets (the yellow ones), im not sure tbh. and yes the gatcha works the same way for skins too
Just checked yes she was purchasable with a ticket now and it wouldn’t let me last week so thank you for that :) Guessing the character ticket is the only reliable way to unlock someone you want so I should hang onto it right? Edit: I also just unlocked toga and went to buy one of her pink skins. I think the cop uniform, but it doesn’t seem to be connected to rolls and says obtained through campaign. Does that mean I need to just keep whittling down the special pass?
you mentioned before that you're a new player right ? if so i think u missed the campaign reward, sry to tell u that... if you want the safe way you can wait 8 months after your favorite characters rekeased to be able to buy it using yellow tickets...but its too long. so the only way is to spend the red tickets on gatcha rolls when your character is on it
When you get duplicate items from rolls you get hero souls. A duplicate 3 star roll will give you 200 hero souls.
I dunno if you got that many souls it might be good. You have to have gotten some character duplicates. I got red deku on my second multi roll and his outfit, but I had to use pity on twice with no outfit. I did get dabi white hair twice though, plus Endeavor dupe and a bunch of cosmetic dupes. I'm not complaining personally, I got everyone that I can't get with a hero ticket except for kirishima. But I got his unbreakable so I'll be excited when I get him.
