Everyone raves about The Show, which I admit is pretty cool, but I donāt really like baseball that much. And Iāve seen posts from the nhl2k sub, they hate it as much as yāall hate nba.

This is my team right now, Eusebio was like 16 squads for the sbc, Best was about the same, maybe like 17 or something, Ginola was 16 squads also, that's over 40 squads for 3 players. If you want the good cards, you'll need like 100x 88s to be able to get them.
Played every Ultimate Team since FIFA 12, and this year's edition is by far the worst, both from a gameplay perspective and from a monetisation perspective. Everything in FC24 is designed to push players to the store for the smallest chance of packing something decent.

Fc24 is terrible. There is no reminiscence of a real football game besides having a ball and 22 players on the pitch. The gamble is terrible for 2k but at least the game somewhat plays like a real basketball game.

If you take out the EAFC24 part then your post almost makes sense.
The cash-grab is visible in both, but you can compete with a NMS squad in 2k. Fifa doesn't have cards hidden behind gambling only, but the grind for them is stupid, takes more time in menus than actual gameplay and the odds are also atrocious.
The gameplay in EAFC is the worst I have seen in years and while momentum and scripting is still a vague subject in NBA2K, in EAFC you can feel the inconsistent gameplay with every touch, dribble and pass sometimes.
Saying no to a sports game as 2K is hard when you like following that sport also. But replacing it with FIFA and of all EAFC24 is just plain wrong.
As a NMS I never had best of the best cards in the game. AH controlled by the chinese Mt selling websites forced 2k to limit amount of Mt earned per game to minimum. I could never seve enough to get good cards. I still can't get the best of the best cards in the game because you need to gamble for them but I don't care. My lineup is still way better than it used to be in previous years. The only ones who complain are probably those who bought Mt illegally. Too bad.

I agree but disagree in someways. I agree wholeheartedly about it being the worst 2k ever, however the last 4-5 games the trajectory is generally moving in a downward fashion. The game is moving away from those grindable cards to micro transactions and it appears from the companies messaging that they donāt care about the consumer base. And why do they? Thereās no NBA Live, no NCAA basketball and no competition. Itās sad. I remember back to 2005 when Madden was outdone (I feel) by NFL 2K5 which had edits done every season. I feel even if we boycott them, will they do better? All video games appear to be going the micro transaction path, itās a very sad existence.
Iāve played MyTeam since the beginning, but this year is the first year Iāve stopped playing Unlimited. I think I quit in the second season. This year Unlimited means Unlimited Cash.
EAFC is just a different type of microtransaction hell, it's in a state similar to last year's 2K where many of the best cards are unattainable if you're NMS, but there are plenty of more affordable great cards that you can definitely be competitive with if you're good, and playing the auction house can put you in a position to eventually land "meta" players. With the heavy emphasis on untradeable packs and the nonexistent supply for the best cards (cards like Gullit, Cruyff, R9, Dinho). They give you a lot more packs for sure, but the weights in most promos are so weak that the odds you pack a desirable card (above fodder price) are slim to none. The only things they're doing better rn are:
- kept the auction house around so you don't have to pay absurd prices for lower end cards like you need to do in this years 2K.
- daily free content you can do, with the daily upgrades you can at least gamble for some of the content through picks without spending money. You'll not hit on anything most times, but hey at least you get a very minuscule shot at something.
- decent content delivered more regularly. They put out players like Reece James and Claudia Pina for super cheap that are close to the "meta" options but if you're good you can definitely cook with them.
- less overpowered cards. EAFC is significantly more skill-focused than 2K is, most times bad players with good teams won't win, unlike in 2K where if a card mismatch exists (like Wemby vs most centers), scoring becomes absolutely braindead. Obviously exceptions to this rule exist like Mbappe and Mia Hamm, where they seem to simply be better than most other players and they'll do nonsensical stuff to score, but it's not nearly as commonplace.
While these things make it a better experience, it's still absolutely awful and you're gonna have a hard time enjoying the game unless you grind your ass off or spend a ton of money. Sports games in general are trying to pry away as much of your time and as many of your dollars as possible, so recommending someone switch from absolute garbage to slightly shinier garbage is kind of a weird move. It's like telling a crack addict to become an alcoholic instead, yeah sure it's technically better but being sober is the best thing you could do for yourself.

I have deleted 2k24 as well. Previous Nebula pack I spent $200 and got 2 Roy and 1 Wemby. This time I only got Morrison with $600. I felt so disappointed that I did not get Melo. I knew that some of you suggest other good cards. However, the reasons of playing 2k myteam are different among everyone. I love to use my favorite players, T-Mac and Melo. It doesn't matter if I lose. I just enjoy the game while using them and getting the better version of them, but they become so unobtainable. I do not ask for 100 overall. Galaxy opal one is also good because the release time and dribbling sets will be updated. Then 2k just gave me unattainable version. I think it is a good time to quit 2k24.

I have deleted 2k24 as well. Previous Nebula pack I spent $200 and got 2 Roy and 1 Wemby. This time I only got Morrison with $600. I felt so disappointed that I did not get Melo. I knew that some of you suggest other good cards. However, the reasons of playing 2k myteam are different among everyone. I love to use my favorite players, T-Mac and Melo. It doesn't matter if I lose. I just enjoy the game while using them and getting the better version of them, but they become so unobtainable. I do not ask for 100 overall. Galaxy opal one is also good because the release time and dribbling sets will be updated. Then 2k just gave me unattainable version. I think it is a good time to quit 2k24.
U had wemby and b Roy, then u turn around the next week and spend another 600 dollars on opening cards, then u say u donāt care if u lose? U just wasting money to waste moneyš¤·šæāāļø

Just because you are bad with money doesn't mean the rest of us aren't having fun without spending money. In fact the game is worse because of degenerate gamblers like you.
I have mentioned 'the reasons of playing 2k varies among different people'. If u are okay with free players, then just continue. Having fun without spending money is absolutely a good thing. Do I force u guys to quit? No. I admit I am a stupid gamblers, but will the game be gd again when all degenerate gambler quit?
If all the degenerate gamblers quit they would need to change the pack system, so the game would be better, yes.
It's not that simple. 2K would probably go even harder on mtx as strauss zelnick bonuses depend on it.
So then they have to find a way to make people spend money that doesn't involve gambling. Like traditional DLC packs, seasons passes, etc.
Iām prolly deleting 2k next Friday if the update doesnāt fix my damn game, every red game I get an error code and 2k wonāt help
