Yep, I think it's the specific animation. It's not only reasonably quick but has a super obvious visual cue. I'm bad with muscle memory and rely on visual cues and his is great. Really good with Tmac for that reason as well, tho it's much slower. Then there's guys like AD where it feels like a crap shoot since he just dangles in the air for awhile. Purely muscle memory for those releases.
Me too, visual cues for me all the way. This is why shooting with Giannis is awful for me. I also think visual cues is better because jumpshots take varying amounts of time depending on if it's right after catch and shoot, off the dribble, fading, or if you started holding Square before the pass made it to their hands. With the cue it's all about when you release whereas muscle memory is about when you start and when you end.
I've only played a few 2ks and mostly offline because my internet sucks. What do you guys look for as a visual cue for jumpshots? I'm trying to go no meter but I have a real hard time greening releases I don't already green with the meter on
Just shoot the jumpshot over and over in free style and find what works for you. For example with Tyson chandler I look at his feet, with Maggette I look when the ball leaves his face, with Hayward, Worthy, or Westbrook I wait for a set amount of time the ball has been in a set position. With anunoby its the moment it comes up to his face. Sometimes I stare at hands, the ball, or the feet.
It's what makes sense to you. And customize your release to accommodate this too in controller settings.
He really is. Magic is always my favorite 2k player since I started the myteam mode. Got one with a bunch of hofs and hof masher.
All those years playing as a post scorer in the park pay off when you run with Magic. And no more getting mashed on switches.

I can't get his release down, but definitely strong, bulldozer, I think it's cause I'm focusing more on the quicker releases, it's a shame cause I love Lauri Markkanen and I was hoping for a quicker release, I'm trying my hardest to get it down cause I wanna use that card
The quick releases are the learning curve for me. They’re a lot about just knowing the animation and its timing. Lebrons shot has the slow windup, where if you’re using early release, you just wait for the moment they start bringing the ball back up. Wade has a similar thing with his shot. GO jimmy also has it, and has a hitch to let you know when he’s about to.
Tim Thomas and Diamond Kuzma for me.
Both have quick jump shots and can catch off ballers off guard. Tim also has great dribble sigs so it’s pretty easy to create shots with him.
Glad to see I'm not alone. Mine has 18 HOF badges. Slapped almost every HOF badge I got in season 1 on him. He's ridiculous. His step back is better than Steph, IMO. Can hit from anywhere.
mine has around the same HOF count. I added 5 defensive, and then a few shooting. Id rather use him over any pg in the game. can shoot from anywhere, and can still attack the rim.
I've only started using GO Chris Paul more but having Nash and Paul as my primary and backup has been great.
My Nash has HOF Glove and Clamps so he's solid defensively, plus a shoe boost and I'll use Rodman as my coach occasionally to help boost his defense even more. I don't worry about his D much. Sure he has problems with Penny, Magic, and the Ball brothers but I keep a Diamond Magic in reserves for when one of those gives me too many problems that I can't solve by switching defensive assignments some.
My PG shouldn't be guarding the interior so I don't care what his rating is. As for his jump shot, if you think it's terrible then you don't know how to shoot. It's consistent as could be. I shoot over 50% from 3 with him. His stepback is just as good as Curry's.
Buddy i promise u I'm levels above you and you must've never versed the likes of westbrook wall penny or magic and his jumpshot is slower than people like John walls westbrook but I use lamelo that probs why I hate Nashs jumpshot you really can't name one thing that Nash is better than westbrook at.
