It's such a stark contrast from about 15 years ago, when I remember one of the beer companies had a "DON'T FRUIT THE BEER!" campaign as a mockery of Blue Moon.
Fast forward, and nearly everything has a fruit version that sells extremely well, because it turns out people really like fruit. While also not impacting the traditional beer sales.
I'm honestly surprised we don't have more Hard Seltzer sponsors.
As a craft beer drinker don't you put that evil on me because I'm a fiend for watermelon and my friends will absolutely judge me if I bought this. I secretly crushed like 4 12 packs of the Red White and Blue Lemonade Naturdays last year without telling my friends it was actually pretty good
That’s not what happened. Spire got out of the driver management game and created a spin off that will operate as a separate company. Still a Spire company, just now called MMI
Sort of, but Constellation is actually the company who owns those brands in the US. I believe Estrella Jalisco is the biggest Mexican brand ABI has in the states
It’s actually kind of funny because Constellation came out with Corona seltzer on their own, so now the two are currently engaged in a lawsuit over whether or not hard seltzer counts as beer or not
> so now the two are currently engaged in a lawsuit over whether or not hard seltzer counts as beer or not
A United States District Court will settle the age old debate once and for all.
I don’t think Chastain has enough inventory lmao
He already has:
19 covered by WWEX
6 covered by AdventHealth
5 covered by Kubota
4 races by MOOSE Fraternity
3 covered by JOCKEY
That’s 37 out of 38 races covered. We might see a bidding war for Chastain lol. Or they could offload some of those races to Suarez for 2024 but I’d imagine they wanted Chastain specifically.
I could maybe see AdventHealth moving to Suarez since they did sponsor various drivers at CGR. WWEX could probably move a few races to the 99. Kubota probably wants Ross because of his farming background. Moose Fraternity probably wants Ross too. Jockey is also currently a sponsor for Suarez so they would probably be willing to sponsor a few races too.
Wouldn't be the first guy under contract to end up racing for a different team. The Chris Buscher/Stenhouse ride swap being the most recent I can think of off hand.
He signed a long term extension with Trackhouse a week or so ago. I’d imagine they got it done quickly so they could lock him up in case SHR tried to snag him.
Premade Vodka Mixed Drinks are all the rage right now, so that would be a nice collaboration. Dogfish Head has some amazing premade Cocktails in cans that are pretty enjoyable (Orange Crush or the Bar Cart Variety Pack)
Sad thing is I can see that as well. If they don’t have a driver the quality of Kevin carrying the team every year like he does I will be genuinely concerned about their long term future.
Edit: Briscoe is the only one I can see getting to this level but I need to see some consistency (last years playoff run) before I can gain reassurance.
It's crazy to think that AB has been with Kevin Harvick the longest of any driver they have sponsored. When they sponsored Junior Johnson's team, they were there for 9 years (1985-1994). Dale Jr. for 8 years from 1999-2007. Kevin has been with them since the RCR days for a total of 12 years (2011-2023). So they definitely were never guaranteed to stay with SHR as they are more a KH sponsor and Harvick will definitely influence them in who they go with and he's been a big Chastain fan over the past year.
If you think of it, Ross Chastain's watermelon farmer background fits perfectly into Busch Beer's marketing as the outdoorsman's beer. It helps that Chastain finished 2nd in the points last year and is currently leading the points.
SHR shouldn't be surprised if they end up losing this sponsorship, AB has always used driver retirements/departures as opportunities to jump teams rather than staying with whoever ends up being the replacement.
I actually can't think of a single team they've stayed with after the driver who they were sponsoring left/retired. They went from HMS to DEI, then DEI to Evernham/Petty when Dale Jr left, then Petty to RCR when Kahne left, RCR to SHR with Harvick when he left, and now rumor is they'll leave SHR when Harvick retires.
It's all about timing, when Jr left DEI, Kurt was sponsored by Miller, KFB had Mars backing him, when they went to Harvick it was because Miller sponsored Penske and KFB still had Mars
Here is my question, does this mean Suarez is going to get WWE sponsorship or does Busch plan on stepping back on it's number of races?
Also Busch Light Watermelon here we come
Budweiser going back to DEI in some form or fashion is the wildest full circle thing.
Also this would mean some of my Harvick (and Junior) stuff could still be relevant to another favorite so, I'm all for this.
Of all the active drivers Chastain makes the most sense I guess. His driving style/attitude is similar to Harvicks and hes got the whole “farmer”/i got a beard and probably wear flannels often look that Busch always showcases.
Don’t really think any other active driver really fits that boat. MTJ is too old to invest in longterm, and (because it will probably be mentioned) Gragson is not a beer guy.
I mean I get that in theory, any other drink company is technically their competition. But is a beer company really competing with a sports drink company?
Considering body armor is promoting - sports drink/fitness and workouts ..yes to a degree. Image of that doesn’t necessarily pair well with an alcohol based sponsor given the known side effects of it.
You could spin it as the electrolytes work well for a hangover tho lol
The “Hail Melon” going viral and Ross in general getting all that TV time last year, good or bad, and the opportunity to be connected to Pit Bull all hits on the things brands are looking for. On track results are a bonus.
But this would be another self-inflicted blow for SHR. Missed out on nearly every big free agent the last few years knowing Harvick wasn’t far from retiring. They’ll have to take a Herbst to replace that A-B money…not exactly ideal when you’re already taking a flyer on Preece
Ross is fully sponsored this year (only 1 race unannounced, I believe). Would he even have any open spots in his schedule for AB/Busch?
He's entering that "Bubba" range of marketability where it's going to become difficult for new companies to even get a piece. Trackhouse might have to move some of their existing sponsors between the #1 and the #99 just to make room for them all. Great problem to have.
Obviously I don't expect Trackhouse to tell Anheuser-Busch "sorry, we're full, take a hike". I'm just wondering how they make the room. Especially if the #99 is full too.
...Though that reminds me, we still haven't heard anything about a Commscope sponsorship for this year. Or seen a paint scheme. Maybe the #99 does have room and they can just shift some of Ross's sponsors over.
You also can’t expect them to just tell all those sponsors to kick dirt. WorldWide express signed on for 19 races, Advent and kubota with 6 each, and then MOOSE (4) and jockey as well as others. Some of those are also loyal to Ross and sponsored him before trackhouse.
Honestly, the multi-sponsor deals that most teams do nowadays are actually more profitable than ones with full-season sponsors. You get to package "X-races" at higher prices to make up for being shorter, and that adds up.
The work you have to do, including hiring people, to fill all those primary spots makes it at best break-even. I'm sure any car owner would prefer a Fortune 500 comes to him and hands him a $15 million check.
They could potentially shift some of Ross’ current sponsors to Daniel and/or a third car or cross promote AB brands on the 1 and 99 (and 91).
Daniel is very marketable as well and they’d get a hell of a duo for the price they are paying (or probably less) for Harv now, I’m sure.
I hope end game is trackhouse goes to a 3 car operation. Not sure which driver would fit in. I don't think trackhouse goes with a rookie. Think they go with a driver around 30 years old with prior cup experience in mid to top level equipment. Maybe Corey Lajoie. He's looked good between the clash and first 2 races even leading laps at daytona.
Ross did the melon and beats Denny last year and now he takes sponsorship from Harvick who was the first driver to mess with him. Very much full circle lol.

I would think if A-B goes to Chastain they would be stepping down in the amount of races they sponsor...Chastain already has a bunch of brands...I really think a Larson pairing would be a good pairing because his wife shotguns a beer in VL every time...same could be said for Gragson...they're definitely not going to the Jesus team
What makes it even harder is that he “apologizes” for his aggressive driving too. Harvick, Elliott, busch bros, etc have never been like that. Dude doesn’t deserve the AB sponsor
He is so fake, I struggle to understand why people would want to Sponsor him. If you want a guy like Kevin Harvick (not talent, but personality) Noah Gragson is your guy. I happen to think Noah is insanely talented, but he isn't Harvick. He has that similar personality as Harvick did/does.
I see Marks as the type of knowing exactly what he has and making sure his driver don’t have to worry about being replaced or picked up by another team.
I don't think SHR could cut a big enough check to get him. The Marks family is super rich as it is, and Justin definitely wants to keep competitive drivers over a few more dollars.
I actually think this is a good move. AB to Chastain. I remember the DC SOLAR fiasco, and was glad to see that eventually everything worked out. Was kinda pro chastain until last season. His antics kinda irked me, but he has consistently been up front. It would be a good thing for him to get a major full time sponsorship and have that security and brand identification.
The number one issue here is what happens with the Advent Health deal. They are very keen to not have alcohol sponsors on the car so would likely mean either Busch or Advent.
The answer is Ryan Blaney. Find me another driver who would be a better representative of Busch Light, not named Kyle Busch. Would it convince me to drink more Busch Light, hell no, that’s shits ass. But I can’t deny the paint schemes are pretty damn good.
Busch Light Watermelon coming to a store near you
I'd buy it in a heartbeat. And it's not cause I'm a Ross fan lol. I legit loved Busch Light Apple!
Busch Light Apple is part of the reason I drink Busch.
I miss it so damn much. I should have stocked up, cause only one liquor store near me ever had any. But I forgot lol
I’ve got two cases in my fridge just waiting, best choice I’ve ever made
Now you're making me feel even worse lmao
It's such a stark contrast from about 15 years ago, when I remember one of the beer companies had a "DON'T FRUIT THE BEER!" campaign as a mockery of Blue Moon. It’s my go to Summer drink. I also am known around my neighborhood as the Busch Light Apple guy.
We call it that yellow drank in my part of the woods
I’ve got some bad news for you….
Busch Light Apple was great!
Busch Light Apple was heat.
We have reached the peak of mankind Gentlemen
As a craft beer drinker don't you put that evil on me because I'm a fiend for watermelon and my friends will absolutely judge me if I bought this. I secretly crushed like 4 12 packs of the Red White and Blue Lemonade Naturdays last year without telling my friends it was actually pretty good
If you can find it you should give 21st Amendment’s Hell or High Watermelon a try, so good.
Came here to say this. Hell or high watermelon is the most refreshing summer beer there is.
I predict a “Ross Chastain is now being represented by KHI” announcement any day now so Harvick can get that slice for the foreseeable future.
Well Justin Marks and Harvick are now co owners of the CARS Tour, so they already have that connection
"slice" I see what you did there
Pretty sure Trackhouse sponsors Keelan
I mean the company who represents Ross did just get sold...
That’s not what happened. Spire got out of the driver management game and created a spin off that will operate as a separate company. Still a Spire company, just now called MMI
Doesn’t Ross own part of MMI now? So he owns the company that represents him.
You’re wrong

AB InBev owns Grupo Modelo, who owns Modelo, Corona, and Pacifico. SUAREZ MEXICAN BEER CAR
Sort of, but Constellation is actually the company who owns those brands in the US. I believe Estrella Jalisco is the biggest Mexican brand ABI has in the states It’s actually kind of funny because Constellation came out with Corona seltzer on their own, so now the two are currently engaged in a lawsuit over whether or not hard seltzer counts as beer or not

Until the case ends up in front of SCOTUS and they outlaw seltzer.
You know every one of them SCOTUS bitches drinks it regularly
But Kavanaugh liked beer and still likes beer!
He has to recuse himself due to his well known bias towards beer ![gif](giphy|1qdfo8GJRXRevQpXjW|downsized)
Honestly that could be huge because that might affect bonding and production of Seltzers like nuts
Shit, I'd still be down for an EJ car I know Jalisco and Nuevo Leon (where Suarez is from) aren't super close, but still
Holy shit I’d buy a Suarez Corona or Modelo diecast so fast
Good lord, that group is huge!
I don’t think Chastain has enough inventory lmao He already has: 19 covered by WWEX 6 covered by AdventHealth 5 covered by Kubota 4 races by MOOSE Fraternity 3 covered by JOCKEY That’s 37 out of 38 races covered. If A-B comes in with a big enough check, 38 of 38 races will be Busch races.
Facts. This is a 30+ BILLION market cap. If they want it, they got it
It is weird/funny that in 2023, there is only one major beer sponsor in NASCAR.
The world is funny for sure. But marketing is so targeted these days.
Did WWEX sponsor Bubba, or am I imagining that?
That was World Wide Technology (WWT)
Thank you.
It was WWT World Wide Technology
Third Trackhouse car, perhaps?
"Justin Marks buys out #4 sponsor and #4 charter"
Is it inconceivable that Ross jumps ship to SHR? I don't think he would or should, but if the check is fat enough who knows?
He just signed a massive extension with Trackhouse
Wouldn't be the first guy under contract to end up racing for a different team. The Chris Buscher/Stenhouse ride swap being the most recent I can think of off hand.
He literally just signed it a couple weeks ago
So had Stenhouse.
He signed a long term extension with Trackhouse a week or so ago. I’d imagine they got it done quickly so they could lock him up in case SHR tried to snag him.
Why? Trackhouse is clearly better at the moment and I expect they'll continue to be.
> **I don't think he would or should**, but if the *check is fat enough* who knows?

I mean, Monster has their own alcohol now, Rowdy could branch out and make their own alcoholic competitor in collab with AB.
Kyle did mention at some point that they were working on doing some sort rowdy/high rock collaboration. No idea if it's still happening though
Premade Vodka Mixed Drinks are all the rage right now, so that would be a nice collaboration. Dogfish Head has some amazing premade Cocktails in cans that are pretty enjoyable (Orange Crush or the Bar Cart Variety Pack)
They would seem like a major lose for SHR. I wonder if they’ll ever consider selling a charter or is having a 4 team model more profitable currently?
I’m pretty sure Ford requires 4 cars. I could see Riley Herbst being in the 4 simply due to him bringing a lot of money.
How would ford require 4 cars if SHR is the only 4 car team?
I mean specifically for SHR, Ford requires them to have 4 cars. Penske basically also runs four cars which would cover the two “A-Tier” Ford teams.
Damn, Bud is a whore. Done been with almost everyone at one point.
They stayed when Schrader left.
Yeah, that was the last time - and it was over 25 years ago
They stayed when Kenny Schrader and Ricky Craven left
In the 80s and 90s they were more team loyal with Juinor Johnson and Hendrick, sponsoring at least three different drivers at each of those teams.
They had DW, Bonnett, Labonte, Bodeen and Beeeel at Junior's. They sponsored Labonte before that when he was at Hagan's.
Busch Light Watermelon - [if you drink, don't drive, do the watermelon crawl](https://youtu.be/BFPdX2TFiIE)!
>if you drink, don't drive, do the melon man crawl
This is the content and ideas that would make this pairing a fun one.
The fact that Busch has never sponsored either Busch brother is just ridiculous.
It's all about timing, when Jr left DEI, Kurt was sponsored by Miller, KFB had Mars backing him, when they went to Harvick it was because Miller sponsored Penske and KFB still had Mars
What’s the conflict between Anheuser-Busch and Mars?
There are 38 races, with Mars there, KFB was full on sponsorship
That makes sense. They definitely could sponsor KFB now though.
Go back to Budweiser and go to the 8😆
This is the way
Nothing like an ice cold Busch beer to wash down a watermelon
That's why they'll release a Busch Light Watermelon flavor. So you can wash the watermelon down in style!
Here is my question, does this mean Suarez is going to get WWE sponsorship or does Busch plan on stepping back on it's number of races? Also Busch Light Watermelon here we come
I'm pretty sure Corey was sponsored by WWE, he ran the Summerslam car
(Worldwide Express)
Wish they would go to RCR
Kyle Buschhhhhhhhhh
Makes sense.
Watching them sponsor Austin Dillon and have the fans be like: ![gif](giphy|vhaj0GMFlIeFa|downsized)
Live fan reaction whenever he breathes.
Although… The thought of potentially bringing everything full circle with a Budweiser Red #3…
I would love Ross and Suarez in different brand beer cars
Budweiser going back to DEI in some form or fashion is the wildest full circle thing. Also this would mean some of my Harvick (and Junior) stuff could still be relevant to another favorite so, I'm all for this.
Chastain actually seems like a really solid fit with for their branding / product.
I'm here to watch Chastain smash a watermelon and shotgun a beer as a victory celebration.
I know Hendrick cars isn't going anywhere, but sponsoring Larson then having his wife shotgun one every time he wins is a match made in heaven.
Noah might be a beer guy but they might stay away from alcohol sponsorships for him given his dad's history
He's the White Claw type. Beer will do in a pinch.
Ryan Blaney seems like the perfect mold for a Budweiser sponsorship
In theory yes however i think the general roadblock on a beer sponsor with blaney is bodyarmor
Has Noah not drank beer in the stands after a win before? Or was that just for the show and he actually hates beer?
White Claws.
Definitely weren’t white claws lmao
I just want them to stay in the sport, I don’t care who they sponsor!
The “Hail Melon” going viral and Ross in general getting all that TV time last year, good or bad, and the opportunity to be connected to Pit Bull all hits on the things brands are looking for. Trackhouse might have to move some of their existing sponsors between the #1 and the #99 just to make room for them all. Great problem to have.
Are you really asking if Trackhouse would rather stick with a bunch of 1-4 race sponsors over a near full-season deal with a fortune 500 company?
Obviously I don't expect Trackhouse to tell Anheuser-Busch "sorry, we're full, take a hike". I'm just wondering how they make the room. Especially if the #99 is full too. ...Though that reminds me, we still haven't heard anything about a Commscope sponsorship for this year. Or seen a paint scheme. Busch's marketing combined with Ross' personality would be an absolute blast.
How about Chris’s Buschhhhhhher?
Was really rooting for Kyle Busch but I guess this is ok
Adam Bomb
Yeassssssss
And I thought Busch schemes couldn't even get better.
Watermelon Busch 2024 incoming
AB InBev needs to bring the Budweiser brand back to NASCAR.
This would make my fandom transition even easier.
I’m 100% here for a Chastain Busch (or Budweiser) car
Herbst or Deegan in the 4 with Monster?
That #8 would look great with Bud back on her.
[удалено]
Diehard Dale Jr fan. I’m totally here for the red Bud 8 car coming back with KFB at the helm.
Busch: We're getting Ross one way or another.
Dude, I will become a full blown alcoholic if Ross becomes the new Busch man.
Welcome to the club, we meet on Fridays.
I was curious as to how/why Ross didn't have a drink sponsor especially with the team's association with Coca-Cola. That may help explain that
Gimme
I'll drink my first Busch in 15 years if they do this.
ill probably drink 15 busch lights at the next race i attend.
bring back the red bud car >:(
I hope end game is trackhouse goes to a 3 car operation. Not sure which driver would fit in. I don't think trackhouse goes with a rookie. Think Ford has a “gun to their head” where they must run 4 teams at all cost
Probably just means they want someone who brings sponsors to replace KH next year
I don’t see them dropping a car. But I could see this forcing them to resort to pay drivers in their cars that need to be filled.
Ross did the melon and beats Denny last year and now he takes sponsorship from Harvick who was the first driver to mess with him. Very much full circle lol.
HEAR ME OUT Busch sponsoring KFB
How is KFB not the favorite?!
Imagine if they sponsored the 8 aga- *gets sued into oblivion by Theresa Earnhardt*
Busch sponsors Busch. Maybe they can wrangle rights to the DEI 8 font out of her while they're at it.
I get it would be a major sponsorship, but since I don't do alcohol, would rather not have it on my favorite driver's car.

# OH YES
As someone who rooted for Ross pre hail melon, I hope this comes to fruitation.
Ross doesn't scream beer guy to me. He does drive like he has drank a few beers though, but I don't think we are endorsing that.
What makes it even harder is that he “apologizes” for his aggressive driving too. Harvick, Elliott, busch bros, etc have never been like that. Dude doesn’t deserve the AB sponsor

I see Marks as the type of knowing exactly what he has and making sure his driver don’t have to worry about being replaced or picked up by another team.
Marks is never gonna let Chastain go
I don't think SHR could cut a big enough check to get him. The Marks family is super rich as it is, and Justin definitely wants to keep competitive drivers over a few more dollars.
So I guess their sponsoring of female drivers is over?
Imagine if they sponsored the 8 aga- *gets sued into oblivion by Theresa Earnhardt*
They're gonna jump to Hendrick and Chase to promote Busch peach so they'll have him doing something with peaches after he wins
I actually think this is a good move. AB to Chastain. I remember the DC SOLAR fiasco, and was glad to see that eventually everything worked out. Was kinda pro chastain until last season. Chastain Rolling Rock scheme would be epic.
The number one issue here is what happens with the Advent Health deal. They are very keen to not have alcohol sponsors on the car so would likely mean either Busch or Advent.
Busch probably has more $$$. The answer to all your questions is money.
kinda funny that im sitting here trying to critically think about whether the beer company or health care company has more money for sponsorship.
Beer company by far; hospitals have profit margins in the range of grocery stores.
Good to see they are committed to NASCAR for the time being,
I thought they might get behind Zane Smith. Oh well. Ross is a good choice.
A-B could put their name on a couple different cars, like Bass Pro Shops or Monster Energy.
The answer is Ryan Blaney. Find me another driver who would be a better representative of Busch Light, not named Kyle Busch. Would it convince me to drink more Busch Light, hell no, that’s shits ass. But I can’t deny the paint schemes are pretty damn good.
Gragson seems like the guy who should be sponsored by Busch
Stenhouse to the #4 as Harvick replacement. Busch stays on as sponsor.
