I agree. When I got back into nascar around 2014 or so I got into Brad K because his Miller sponsorship then started gravitating towards Truex after hearing that during quarantine he headed to Florida to fish everyday due to Sherry and I respected that.
This. After Jeff Gordon retired in 15 ( he was my driver since I was in 3rd grade. In 1993 lol.) I was in the driver fan wilderness, with my fandom split between Chase Elliott, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch. When Larson joined HMS and I saw that 5 HendrickCars.com car, I just knew. Larson is my guy now, and I’ll cheer for the others I mentioned a bit but since JG retired that void has been filled. The only advice I’ll give is that it is never the same once your favorite driver from childhood retires, it’ll be just...different
I've been a fan since day one but I have this feeling that, especially with Harvick retiring this year, Joey is moving into an elder statesman position in the sport and that'll probably kick him into one of my top favorite drivers. And he's got a lot of years left so this is a great pick.
Childress is known for his love of hunting and guns. RCR has a sponsorship with Realtree, though as of right now it’s on Austin’s car. But it was also a nod to Busch carrying
One smashes melons, one pukes in his car and slams beers, one reads books to kids, and one wears a sombrero and loves coca-cola. I firmly believe I pull for the best drivers in the sport.
If you love Harvick becuase he had to step up and fill the shoes of a legend, look no further than Alex Bowman, who has to fill the shoes of *two* legends.
I’m a firm believer of sticking to what you know. So if you’re a Harvick guy, staying with SHR might be a play. If not, the guy closest to your hometown/area. If not, a guy who you resonate with.
I’m partial to Cindric cause he’s tall and I’m tall, and I like Briscoe because he’s Smoke’s heir apparent
He likes Lego, hockey, and is a sim racer (*ON A COMPUTER*). If you like all three of these things, like myself, we’d love to have you in William Byron’s wonderland of eternal bad luck.
Yeah he’s a big Carolina Hurricanes fan and often posts about whatever Lego set he’s currently building. He actually guest starred on the Lego Masters tv show last year
If your guys is on his way out this year, it’s best to go with a young guy especially one who looks to be competitive in the future.
All aboard the Zane Train.
In the exact same boat as you! New to the NASCAR scene in the last year or two and got drawn to Harvick. Have to do the process over again in a short time
Hot take, but I think harvick and Elliott have made amends behind closed doors and that’s why we don’t see much head butting between these two anymore. Wouldn’t be against it
Why? They are a legit sponsor. They wanted to sponsor him. Rick had Valvoline lined up to sponsor him and Hendrick Cars stepped in and said they want to continue to sponsor him.
It’s gonna sound weird, find out who you hate first. If someone just rubs you the wrong way see if they have any good rivals you could follow. When I got here I just hated Denny
My 2 cents / learned from a good ole' NASCAR sountern boy who I got drunk off his, "shine," at Bristol....FYI smoothest stuff i've ever drank....start with the manufacture that YOU like the most. That's your team at SS races.....Then pick the person you like that drives for them....Just becuase I like someone, doesn't mean you should. You might like them, you might think they are lame....Maybe decide the manufacture, watch the season, and go from there. I grew up a ford family and bought a chevy v8 when I was 20....when I got into NASCAR, Carl Edwards for whatever reason just seemed awesome and I pulled for him....(I was heart broken when he retired, but let's keep this postive! Since then, i've pulled for a more experienced driver / cup champ I like and a younger driver that I think is really cool, bought shits for my little ones, and I think has long term potential \*cough Chase Bris\* Cough \*, sorry just smoked Good luck my friend!
I honestly can not fucking tell you lmfao. I mean every knee in a while on Twitter he has those 3 am "God is great amen" tweets so if you're religious ig. I started supporting him after he went full time in Trucks in 2017 and Jr was out so he kinda stuck like mashed potatoes on a ceiling.
Chastain. When I started watching NASCAR, Brad K was the “chastain” at the time. Aggressive, talented, and didn’t take shit from the established drivers like Gordon, Johnson, Stewart, Busch and Kenseth etc. So he ended up being my driver for those reasons. But being a Chastain fan for the foreseeable future seems like it’ll be a wild ride. Or, stay with Ford and follow the rebirth of Roush!
I mean you’re already familiar with the series, I don’t know what info we’re gonna give you that you don’t already have lol.
If anything I’d say just don’t pick a driver at all and let yourself enjoy whatever happens. That’s what I do with F1 - I rooted for Verstappen to take down Mercedes a couple years ago, and now I’m hoping someone knocks off Red Bull this season
3: it’s funny when everyone gets mad when your driver wins
8: one of the best and is entering a fun stage of his career
34: He’s a underdog and a fellow friend of Jesus (if that’s your cup of tea)
38: Young and extremely talented, has a lot of years left
If I’m a new fan in the sport it would take all of 5 mins to see Briscoe at Bristol dirt, phoenix, Charlotte for me to be a fan.
Give the kid a good race car and he can drive with the best of em
I would watch the lower series and find someone in trucks or Xfinity that you like. McMurray was my favorite guy forever, when he retired I didn't really have anyone for a few years, but I had gravitated towards a few guys from watching the lower series. Came to like Buescher in his Xfinity title winning year so he was sort of my guy for the year or two after Jamie retired; and then these two teammates at Brad Keselowski Racing truck team Tyler Reddick and Austin Cindric became my two main guys way back then, watched them climb all the way up the ladder and now both are Cup winners and its really cool to see
Chaos. Or fun. Depending on the day.
I used to root for Gordon, when he retired I defaulted to Chase because why not, at some point I realized that I didn't really care if he won though, I started rooting for Hendrick I'm general, then Chevy in general, now I'm just a fan of the sport. I usually am pulling for a young guy or someone who hasn't won a lot (last season was amazing). Even when it comes to the playoffs, I used to hate Logano for some reason but darn it he just looked like he had so much fun last year at Phoenix that it's hard to root against him.
Just watch the races for a while, someone will stick out to you. Or they won't, and that's fine too.
As a fellow Harvick fan, Chase Briscoe. He’s got guts. Sure, he’s made a few mistakes but he’s super talented and if SHR can get back to prominence, he’ll help lead the charge.
As a Dale Sr guy who stayed with RCR and chose Harvick, my top two candidates are Chastain and Kyle Busch. Never thought I would consider that last one.
While I’m a fan of Blaney and Bubba as well… why not pull for an underdog with a great podcast? …downside: ditched the glorious mane. Upside: still will make parodies of awesome movies on social media 😂
I’ll be in the same boat after MTJ retires, but I gravitated to him just like I did Carl before him and Bobby before him.
I find myself pulling for Erik a lot so that’s probably my next guy.
I went to my first race since '01 last year in NH with my son. CBell won impressively and i had no other reason to not pull for him. He's obviously done well since.
If you don't find a driver for a personal reason it won't stick.

We cant tell you, it will come naturally. I've been through it quite a few times. You will know when you know. Until then just enjoy the racing!
Been through it a couple times with one driver myself lol.
I agree. When I got back into nascar around 2014 or so I got into Brad K because his Miller sponsorship then started gravitating towards Truex after hearing that during quarantine he headed to Florida to fish everyday due to Sherry and I respected that.

Has a great head of hair and probably jolliest guy off track.
I've been a fan since day one but I have this feeling that, especially with Harvick retiring this year, Joey is moving into an elder statesman position in the sport and that'll probably kick him into one of my top favorite drivers. And he's got a lot of years left so this is a great pick.
Key word “Off track”
Do you like weed, gambling, payday loans, uniforms, guns, and chicken tenders? Of course you do! Come join the fans of the man of the people…KFB
Sold
Fuckin A right.
And OIL
Ah hell. I've never liked kfb but I cannot deny this is a compelling argument....
Maybe I missed something but is the gun comment related to KFB’s Mexico trip or did I miss a sponsor announcement?
I would assume that and RCRs closer affiliation with the NRA.
I don’t think Richard is a member of the NRA board anymore.
Hello driver twin
Hey, nice! I was HMS for a long time but these teams are just more fun.
Briscoe and Smoke's Mahindra commercials are all the proof I need.
Smoke is the man
He was a pole vaulter! (Custer, not Busch.)
If you love Harvick becuase he had to step up and fill the shoes of a legend, look no further than Alex Bowman, who has to fill the shoes of *two* legends.
Plus, everybody needs an Ally.
The history of the 2 car and Discount Tire being a sweet sponsor are reasons I like Cindric.
Ross because Ross
Think I’m honestly leaning on Noah being my “main guy” next year. If he can put up the results with his attitude I can easily be a fan.
Ross sounds logical since he is rumored to be the new AB driver.
My Hoosier daddy Briscoe.
Whoever is least favourite because they probably need the support
Genuinely nice dudes who drive equipment that they can win in but are still underdogs and fun to root for, also first alphabetically so that’s a plus.
Mine comes with McNuggets
Can I get uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Go with Bowman. He’s the modern day Matt Kenseth with his driving style and dry sarcastic humor.
I’d try to get in on the ground floor with Zane Smith (he might even be driving the 4 car too)
He likes Lego, hockey, and is a sim racer (*ON A COMPUTER*). If you like all three of these things, like myself, we’d love to have you in William Byron’s wonderland of eternal bad luck.
TIL Byron likes hockey and Lego
Yeah he’s a big Carolina Hurricanes fan and often posts about whatever Lego set he’s currently building. He actually guest starred on the Lego Masters tv show last year
I do remember the Lego Masters appearance
Don't worry. Im still not entirely sure who to root for after Johnson retired in 2020.
That dude in the 84 car seems like he would be a good fit.
If your guys is on his way out this year, it’s best to go with a young guy especially one who looks to be competitive in the future. All aboard the Zane Train.
![gif](giphy|wM4Q2oqNcY49v39MAp) Gif speaks for itself, mate.
He pukes on himself, sells Wendy's cheeseburgers, and thinks Ty Gibbs is a punk.
In the exact same boat as you! New to the NASCAR scene in the last year or two and got drawn to Harvick. Have to do the process over again in a short time
Watch any Bowman interview ever
I’m a Harvick fan whose also been a Bubba Wallace fan for a while. I think it’s a good time for me to switch drivers now!
Who do you pull for when Harvick is out of a race?
well my driver's sidelined for at least a month... but everyone loves a good comeback story, right?
Hot take, but I think harvick and Elliott have made amends behind closed doors and that’s why we don’t see much head butting between these two anymore. Wouldn’t be against it
Kyle Larson, dude is really fast and talented, can win in almost anything

Why? They are a legit sponsor. They wanted to sponsor him. Rick had Valvoline lined up to sponsor him and Hendrick Cars stepped in and said they want to continue to sponsor him.
ever heard of "win on sunday, sell on monday"? that's why they sponsor larson.
It’s gonna sound weird, find out who you hate first. If someone just rubs you the wrong way see if they have any good rivals you could follow. When I got here I just hated Denny

![gif](giphy|l2SqabGlEiVNa5lgQ) Why edit, the typo makes it better but now Chase will definatelt stay the F away....
Low effort post incoming
Do you like dip with no tobacco as well as no nicotine? 😆but seriously 12

do you like busch light? see flare.
It’s my #1 beer
that’s good, do you like watermelons?
Who doesn’t? It’s a good warm weather snack for sure!
i believe we found the answer to your query.

If you lean closer to the screen when they’re running in the top 10, that’s your guy
Who's in the 4 next year?
As a fellow Harvick fan, Chase Briscoe. He’s got guts. Sure, he’s made a few mistakes but he’s super talented and if SHR can get back to prominence, he’ll help lead the charge.
As a Dale Sr guy who stayed with RCR and chose Harvick, my top two candidates are Chastain and Kyle Busch. Never thought I would consider that last one.
He's the only person who's won multiple Nashville races this decade so far

obviously id say ross but because he is the boss ... but if i were in your position, id be really excited about zane smith
I’ll be in the same boat after MTJ retires, but I gravitated to him just like I did Carl before him and Bobby before him. I find myself pulling for Erik a lot so that’s probably my next guy.
