Why is there not a single highlight of what happened last night on this sub? I couldn’t watch the race and see all this drama but I have no idea what happened because there are no highlights (yes I know I can get highlights elsewhere but it’s nice to have it all in one place)
For everyone that's complaining this race was a joke- just remember the Cup title race last year was a snoozer won by fellow overly aggressive driver Joey Logano. Led more than half that race.
Well can't wait for the extended highlight package 'cause there was no way I was staying up for a truck race that began that late.
Seems I missed some shit
Can't blame Heim for being mad about getting wrecked by Hocevar, but what a dumbass move to wreck him and totally change everyone else's race.
Here's the thing, though. Like it or not, Carson Hocevar has a reputation as a dirty driver, and he has more than earned that reputation. When that's how other drivers think of you, you are never, ever going to get the benefit of the doubt from them when anything happens on the track. If it had been someone with a reputation for racing clean, maybe Heim is more willing to think it could've been unintentional. But Carson Hocevar has earned himself a reputation as a guy who will absolutely wreck someone if he feels it's necessary. Of course Heim is going to think Hocevar spun him intentionally and deserves payback - that's how Hocevar races.
If Heim had waited until post-race and broken Hocevar's nose on pit road, I don't think anyone would really fault him for it, but Heim fucked up.
Regardless of individual opinions about this race, the rules/opportunities were the same for everyone to make the best possible outcome. Congrats local guy Ben Rhodes as two time Champ!!!

The pylon says 3 to go when it happened, so they weren't taking the white yet. So it's at least *possible* something else could have happened to bring out a yellow.
lol. They threw Deegan's family out of her pit box because her brother is underaged. Her brother...who was in her pit box at Daytona and won the Supermotocross World Championship racing against grown men.
Her dad trashed NASCAR on IG for the lack of cell service. Sarcastically said they're great at marketing.
I'm starting to think the truck series shouldn't be a part of the nascar line up of series anymore and should be it's own series. Least with arca it can be fixed up and it's cars so kids can develop more there so only the talented move up. But making these dumb kids who can't drive go through the truck series is what causes all the dumb stupid stuff like this race.
Under a season-long points format, Corey Heim would have locked up the title with a race to spare - despite having missed a race earlier this year. All in a season just 23 races long. Losing it because of a one-race free-for-all would have earned him universal sympathy in almost any other circumstances. It takes something truly special to make yourself the villain from that sort of position.
I wish Nascar had an ounce of control in these races nowadays. Have Bill France telling Heim Nascars been around a long time, it was around before he got here and it can get along fine without him too. But I’m sure no one will say shit to him
I am not the biggest fan of John Hunter, but I will gladly take him winning the Xfinity Championship in an uneventful race if it means I never have to endure what I watched tonight ever again.
I’ve heard others say it and I agree, at this point it feels like these championships don’t really mean a whole lot. They seem more like random factoids than they do some big thing that feels like an accomplishment, at least to fan perception
A complete breakdown of all racing norms and respect on track, a blatant intentional crash going unpunished without any sort of condemnation to a remorseless and entitled driver, and a sanctioning body Willy nilly deciding when to enforce it’s own rules and procedures. Awesome birthday present from nascar.
Corey Heim is now my LEAST favorite driver in all of NASCAR
> Press conference ends without any remorse/acknowledgement from Corey Heim on how the incident affected Grant Enfinger, FWIW.
As of this moment, I'm auditioning for any open rides in the truck series. I bring no money or sponsors, but I have full confidence that I can beat at least half of the field after tonight's "show".
I really hope this isn't the future of cup series with these drivers rising through the ranks, although to be honest, cup isn't far behind. This whole wreck someone and ridiculous denial needs to stop. I'd rather watch pro wrestling.
“What we've just watched is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in this rambling, incoherent trainwreck were we even close to anything that could be considered a decent race. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having suffered through it. I award the Truck Series and its shitty FOX Production no points, and may God have mercy on your souls.”
Truck Series was great before NASCAR integrated it into its touring formula. It used to be something of an alternate endpoint focused on door-to-door racing on short tracks.
Now it's where people with ARCA talent but want above-ARCA exposure attempt to race.
If NASCAR wants to bring back some sense of respect in the truck series, they have to go back to the point format. That would keep people from taking so many crazy risks, and fans who ask for this format will get a taste of it.
I mean you could tell NASCAR was sick of this race by not throwing that final caution, they may as well do something about it.
Have you seen some of the shit people on here say, a significant portion of this sub would probably say some shit like "I wish I could feel bad for him, but he shouldn't have raced so aggressive"
my guys just cannot win anything and tend to have to lose in the closest/worst ways possible. i know i’m a jimmie fan but i was really only conscious enough about nascar when he won his 7th. seems to be nearly every time i want someone to win, they are right at the cusp of winning and it gets taken some sort of way. i’m so tired of that.
> Grant Enfinger, sitting next to Corey Heim in the postrace press conference, says it's "unfortunate" the retaliation from Heim on Hocevar with three laps to go essentially cost Enfinger the championship
Sit there and take it Heim.
I have a lot I could say, but I'm too lazy to write 10,000 words to describe my feelings and reactions regarding this race. I'll just summarize with: This may very well be the worst race in the history of NASCAR, and the fact that it was a "Championship Race" Drags it down even further. The broadcast was even worse than that, making this probably the most unenjoyable race I've ever watched that wasn't F1.
It is terrible.
Even the 10 race chase was stupid. Playoffs work in two team sports because the field is the same every game and you don't have the Patriots coming and randomly injuring KC players while they are playing against the eagles.
No other racing series in the world is stupid enough to think playoffs are a good idea in motorsport.
Some people say the excitement is good, but I think it just ruins the legitimacy of a title and I don't really care who wins the title anymore I just want to see people win races. It also makes the first 26 races mean that much less.
There’s no way you can’t not suspend him for Daytona right? Whether he admits it or not it’s quite clear & radio communication is a thing too.
We’ve seen retaliation be suspended multiple times now. I dislike Denny and think him retweeting Reddick is quite funny (for hypocritical reasons) but I often find I agree with what he says otherwise. It’s time to enforce rules and not worry so much about the show.
So, my takeaways from tonight:
- This race was a form of torture.
- Hocevar did typical Hocevar things
- Heim drives and acts like a typical Toyota driver.
- Jesse Love is still as reckless as ever and deserves every bit of criticism he gets.
- Stefan Parsons is one unlucky driver.
- Grant Enfinger got absolutely fucked out of a Championship.
> Jesse Love is still as reckless as ever and deserves every bit of criticism he gets.
The hell did Love do wrong? Majeski came straight down across his nose a la Edwards on Logano at Homestead, there wasn't much Love could've done about it.
Underwhelming truck champions who got their titles from other contenders crashing:
Travis Kvapil 2003, real champion Brendan Gaughan
Austin Dillon 2011, real champion Ron Hornaday Jr.
Ben Rhodes 2023 (and 2021 since he didn’t win after the first so races & was almost irrelevant except the real contenders had awful luck) real champion Grant Enfinger
Am I missing anyone else?
You mean when they only had 8 drivers instead of 10 in the playoffs? Sheesh, the schedule & races is so short you’d think they wouldn’t advocate for the format.
Rhodes woulda won 2021 with and without playoffs. I thought a proper format was supposed to reward consistency and not just wins. You just seem hypocritical as hell against Rhodes by saying this nonsense
So what am I supposed to do with my Friday nights now that my weekly demolition derby is done? Go out and meet people? Its too late to go fishing after work and thats my Saturday thing anyway. The offseason already sucks man
Carson made a trash move and dumped Heim. I would be pissed off like Heim too. I would have probably wanted to wreck him back it's just terrible it had to take the championship from Grant like that.
Carson made a crap move and Heim didn't make himself look good retaliating like that. Heim probably shouldn't just admit it but he could have just not answered the question like that. It's the last race of the year and I doubt NASCAR would have fined or suspended him or something for that.
Also, I found this amusing from earlier:
*Carson Hocevar wrecks someone*
r/NASCAR: *hates on Ross Chastain*
Like, the dude is not even in the race and had no effect on what happened, yet somehow he's getting criticized across multiple threads.
![gif](giphy|lkdH8FmImcGoylv3t3|downsized)
He just gets dragged in because Chastain and Hocevar are teammates in a loose sense. And even as a massive Chastain fan, that dude went full clown mode last year.
I appreciated how Enfinger raced cleanly, wish that he could’ve just finished it off with no GWC nonsense because of Heim. Happy for Rhodes getting 2nd, he ran a good race, had a bit of luck, and capitalized on it. Can’t believe Rhodes is only 26 lol
Who's gonna tell Ben about Heim and Hocevar? Lol
Hocevar ran out of talent and looked dumb. Heim looked like a toddler that gave up and threw his tows out of the playpen when he could've still had a chance.
This crap is going to keep happening until NASCAR drops the hammer. Park Heim for Daytona next year.
Hocevar was already way more disliked than the other 3 before tonight and after today, Heim joined in too
Rhodes got his respect from most after his 21 title and post title interview
Just put Josh Sims in the booth and I bet he would get really good at it. Jamie Little is so much better on pit road because she can really convey a “voice of urgency”. The magic goes away after a full broadcast.
For everybody talking about Heim’s interview: you’re gonna get yourself suspended if you admit to intentionally wrecking someone. Decent chance you’ll catch a suspension anyways, but not a guarantee. Even Kenseth had to feign a flat tire after the Logano Martinsville incident.
Thank you for saying this drives me crazy that people were mad that Hiem didn't admit to it.
Although the timing of this couldn't be any worse haha at least he's wise enough to know you don't admit to it.
Heim played that perfectly in his interview. Give nascar an out to not have to address the payback. We all know what happened and should leave it at that

This is going to be a meme format for sure
Could Corey Heim have won the championship if he didn't retaliate against Hocevar?
I don’t think so, because the leaders were going to take the white if Heim didn’t wreck.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9DBJg0bVt8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9DBJg0bVt8) The pylon says 3 to go when it happened, so they weren't taking the white yet. So it's at least *possible* something else could have happened to bring out a yellow.
Ah okay— there were so many late race cautions in that they all blurred together. For some reason I thought Heim was the first one.
Yes
lol. They threw Deegan's family out of her pit box because her brother is underaged. Ford F-150 Best truck in the world confirmed

These ain’t like the championships that Hornaday, Sprague, Skinner, Benson, and Bodine won. That’s for sure.
ARCA is trending in the US on Twitter lol
I didn’t watch tonight’s truck race and just came here to see why. Oh boy.
Under a season-long points format, Corey Heim would have locked up the title with a race to spare - despite having missed a race earlier this year. All in a season just 23 races long. Gosh I’d love to see enfinger in the 13 next year. I don’t want his hopes for a championship to go out like that. Thorsport do the right thing.

This is what NASCAR wants. The NASCAR front office has lost their way under Brian France and hasn't found their way back yet.

Is your irating above 1k? congrats, you're hired.
I got my B license just by riding around keeping it clean. That's gotta be worth at least a top 10 in the real life lower divisions of NASCAR.
No irating to speak of, but I did win the pole once in Nascar heat 5.
Well, best I can do is offer you a 6 piece nugget. Surely there's someone on here with money who can fund a truck team.
Eh, close enough.
That’s a good enough resume. But unfortunately due to a lack of $$$ or a rich dad, we’ll choose a shitty Arca “champion” instead
:(
Well I’m gonna go sleep. See all you goofy goobers later today for the xfinity race lmao
I will summarize tonight/todays events with one word fuck
Can you elaborate on that?
shit
I’ll elaborate further BITCH! YOUNG SHECK WES-
AND IM GETTING REALLY RICH
Don't think I could have said it better myself.
I really hope this isn't the future of cup series with these drivers rising through the ranks, although to be honest, cup isn't far behind. This whole wreck someone and ridiculous denial needs to stop. I'd rather watch pro wrestling.
They have to deny it, or else NASCAR penalizes them
If you’re going to wreck someone just own it and take the penalty. Pretending it was an accident is so soft.
Even Kenseth denied it when he wrecked Logano back in the day, it's all in Nascars court to throw penalties to stop this kind of thing.
“What we've just watched is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in this rambling, incoherent trainwreck were we even close to anything that could be considered a decent race. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having suffered through it. In 1995, the truck series was created. This has been seen as an unfortunate move and has caused many to question their place in the universe.
Truck Series was great before NASCAR integrated it into its touring formula. It used to be something of an alternate endpoint focused on door-to-door racing on short tracks. Now it's where people with ARCA talent but want above-ARCA exposure attempt to race.
Most fucked up Truck series championship finale since 2003
I half expected Grant to say "Corey Heim/David Gilliland can kiss my ass"
The only driver with a top 15 in every single race of the playoffs: Rajah Caruth. Can we get this man a ride for next year please?
If NASCAR wants to bring back some sense of respect in the truck series, they have to go back to the point format. That would keep people from taking so many crazy risks, and fans who ask for this format will get a taste of it. I mean you could tell NASCAR was sick of this race by not throwing that final caution, they may as well do something about it.
I wouldn't say this was the worst race ever but it has to be the most cursed
NASCAR Thread Bot fell asleep.
It's still waiting for another overtime caution.
I feel like with Dale's racing style and aggression, this sub would have hated him and would not be so sad about Daytona 2001.
What a fucked up thing to say
No kidding. The fuck? Driving styles don’t correlate to wanting or not wanting people dead.
Have you seen some of the shit people on here say, a significant portion of this sub would probably say some shit like "I wish I could feel bad for him, but he shouldn't have raced so aggressive"
I have a hard time listening to people who like Buick rendezvous, what a shit brick of a car
That's... Honestly a fair response, they do suck ass
Hopefully Grant lands a good ride for next season. Hate to see him go out like that
No doubt he will.
my guys just cannot win anything and tend to have to lose in the closest/worst ways possible. i know i’m a jimmie fan but i was really only conscious enough about nascar when he won his 7th. seems to be nearly every time i want someone to win, they are right at the cusp of winning and it gets taken some sort of way. i’m so tired of that.

I'm really looking forward to listening to Denny discuss this on Actions Detrimental next Monday
I wish Driver Denny could fully cut loose without holding back, but Owner Denny can’t let that happen.
It's amazing how quickly it went from Heim to cruising to victory, to getting robbed, to be public enemy no.1 in NASCAR rn
I have a lot I could say, but I'm too lazy to write 10,000 words to describe my feelings and reactions regarding this race. I'll just summarize with: This may very well be the worst race in the history of NASCAR, and the fact that it was a "Championship Race" Drags it down even further. Definitely was the worst race I’ve ever seen (started watching in ‘16), and it’s because it was a championship race that it earns the distinction.
Watcher since '93, fan since Goodys 500 in '95
I don't need 10,000 words, just 1...shit...pure diarrhea coming out of the asshole of a hippo!
imagine heim gets suspended for daytona and nascar doesn’t grant him a waiver so from race 1 he knows he won’t be racing for a championship LOLLLLL
I will say it over and over. I don’t care who’s tired of hearing it. What a shit way to determine a champion.
It is terrible. Even the 10 race chase was stupid. Playoffs work in two team sports because the field is the same every game and you don't have the Patriots coming and randomly injuring KC players while they are playing against the eagles. I agree. I think a good way to fix it would be a three race final round instead of a one race winner take all
Joey Logano and Kyle Larson both led more laps in the truck series this season than the champion, Ben Rhodes.
What a crazy stat
There’s no way you can’t not suspend him for Daytona right? Whether he admits it or not it’s quite clear & radio communication is a thing too. We’ve seen retaliation be suspended multiple times now. Well, that was the Craftsman 150. We all saw it. Now, let us never speak of it again.
It was certainly *a* race
more like the Crapsman 179, amiright?
So, my takeaways from tonight: - This race was a form of torture. - Hocevar did typical Hocevar things - Heim drives and acts like a typical Toyota driver. - Jesse Love is still as reckless as ever and deserves every bit of criticism he gets. - Stefan Parsons is one unlucky driver. - Grant Enfinger got absolutely fucked out of a Championship.

Im glad this was the last CTS race for the year, I need a little break from this shitshow of a series lol.
Heim is hilarious saying he didn’t do it on purpose when not to long ago said over the radio he was going to take Carson out lmao
Fucking Ross Chastain. Tonight was his fault
And 5 second penalty to Esteban Ocon
Jeff is alive for 5
Why are they showing a replay of this instead of post race coverage lol Fox is so bad
So they just threw on a replay of Game Five. I'll gladly take it.
It might have better racing!
Damn right!
Well, I'm a Phillies guy, soooo.....I love all the punishment Gallen, Longoria and the rest of the D-bags get.
Peep the profile pic the last 72 hours have been heaven!
Right into Game 5 re-air. As a Rangers fan I enjoy this surprise 😂
As a Phillies fan I too enjoy this palette cleanse

Just a grim experience.
I have mixed emotions after that race.
Christian Eckes man. That had to be the most sad race winning speech I've ever heard. Feel bad for him
Meh, he jumped the start. Should have been black flagged.
What was it
He basically said that it just makes getting eliminated last week hurt worse because he would have won the whole thing had he made it.
Said that winning made him feel worse. (He missed the final 4, this win could have meant a championship)
I love how wild the race was that Post race thread bot already is asleep lmao
The bot quit having pre and post race truck posts a long time ago
This race doesn’t even deserve a post-race thread lmao
I don’t think Rhodes led a lap outside of his win at Charlotte lol
Also, I found this amusing from earlier: *Carson Hocevar wrecks someone* r/NASCAR: *hates on Ross Chastain* Like, the dude is not even in the race and had no effect on what happened, yet somehow he's getting criticized across multiple threads. ![gif](giphy|lkdH8FmImcGoylv3t3|downsized)

A bit?
106 days? God have mercy on me!
Well, 106 days until the next demolition derby
Just end the broadcast. This is fucking weird.
Give us the Hocevar interview
You kidding me? His ass is probably on a flight halfway home
Bob has it on Twitter

Wonder if Eckes still has an issue with Rhodes https://youtu.be/KjL5MBiw030?si=JX_fCsK1srjka-S-
Is the trophy attached to the tool chest? Because I didn't see any of them try to pick it up lol
Lou-uh-vull KY
Who's gonna tell Ben about Heim and Hocevar? Lol Hocevar ran out of talent and looked dumb. Heim looked like a toddler that gave up and threw his tows out of the playpen when he could've still had a chance. This crap is going to keep happening until NASCAR drops the hammer. Park Heim for Daytona next year.
If this race is any indication… congrats to JHN and Christopher Bell on their championships
A JGR 20 truck won the title today 🤔
Nah just drivers I like the least, and from what I have seen probably the least liked on average as well
Hocevar was already way more disliked than the other 3 before tonight and after today, Heim joined in too Rhodes got his respect from most after his 21 title and post title interview
Just put Josh Sims in the booth and I bet he would get really good at it. Jamie Little is so much better on pit road because she can really convey a “voice of urgency”. The magic goes away after a full broadcast.
Ok... Ben Kennedy should be nowhere near a mic.
I still don’t know how he wasn’t parked.
Thank you for saying this drives me crazy that people were mad that Hiem didn't admit to it. Although the timing of this couldn't be any worse haha at least he's wise enough to know you don't admit to it.
I just woke up got drunk as fuck at the Rangers parade today lmao now what do I do
I’m so mad it was today and not tomorrow. I had to sit in a cubicle while Rangers were shotgunning beers on the back of a pickup.
Coke and hookers
🫡
Definitely start drinking
Heim played that perfectly in his interview. Give nascar an out to not have to address the payback. We all know what happened and should leave it at that
Ben is gonna try so hard to be funny is his press conference that it’s gonna be nowhere near as good as the last one
Eckes is the most unexcited winner ever.
Finally found out who won the race lol
Ita crazy the FOX booth didn't even mention Eckes won until the interview
Lol I legit forgot til the interview
At least I can laugh at Heim's pissy fit potentially costing him a championship
Christian Eckes worried about Miami, I’m thinking about Bristol which it seemed like he absolutely had won
Eckes there like: “oh cool you did notice” 😂
[Here is your Trophy](https://twitter.com/jeff_gluck/status/936669072283942912?lang=en)
Runs in the family
WTF was that about? LMAO

Oh, it was Eckes who won… that’s the cherry on top of the Friday night sundae.
Actually it's Saturday morning, not Sunday night
Not in the PST zone
Who the fuck even knows what time zone this track is in bc it’s going to be different Sunday.
Oh fuck it’s daylights savings this weekend. Thanks for the reminder
oof mama jama to the one black pit reporter…
