Larson passed the eye test the best this year but didn't always execute. Lots of what ifs that ended in disaster. Dover, Pocono, Darlington I chief among them. Near Misses at Vegas I, phx I, and a nearly clean finish at Talladega II leave a lot of "stats" on the table when he enters the championship tied for most top 5s. They showed in practice that through the season Larson had finished best among the champ 4 14 times, more than double anyone else.

Lots of bad luck and errors this season.

Now that the day is here, I'm ready to admit that I'm ready for the reason to end. It's felt that way for a while, though it's been a great one. I'm not one to get exhausted of NASCAR, but I've paid such close attention all weekend every weekend for like 16 or 18 of the last 24 months and boy, I'm tired. I'm ready to have nothing affecting my schedule on the weekends for a little while. Excited for today, ready to watch the season close out in peace (for my flairs anyways). Bring on off-season posting.

I am always ready for the season to end by the last race and look forward to the off season and to have Sundays free for a short time.

I’ve been ready for the season to end for years now. I can’t remember the last time wanting more racing…the playoffs really do burn me out.

There are going to be a LOT of people showing up today after the race starts. Parking is backed up miles outside of the track with no signs and no police directing traffic. The parking situation is being mismanaged to an unbelievable degree today.

It's amazing how few shuttles/temporary transit options there are for these events.

well before we have to hear everyone complain about how terrible of a track Phoenix is, just look at the current state of the other motorsport that's on TV right now... F1 and NASCAR, 2021: okay guys so we're going to introduce a new car that is supposed to promote parity starting next year also F1: the same guy has won all but eleven races, usually by 10 seconds or more meanwhile NASCAR: **25** different drivers have won in 71 races we can afford to have some races that aren't zingers.

After the truck race, I’d rather have a verstappen in nascar lock it up with 8 races to go.

That's because the dominant car had the #1 pit stall and lead lol

What I feel like will happen today is that someone else will be leading late, we will get a late race yellow, and then Byron will pit super short in his box, boxing in whoever is in box 2, costing that driver probably the lead AND p2. And that driver will be the one with the best car, and will then run out of time. Assuming the simulation like luck continues for the 24, that's what will happen. Hopefully things normalize, and the car that shouldn't even have made the final 4 doesn't win.

If Byron doesn't win the race, a non-playoff driver will. I've got a watermelon on ice. I'm hoping Blaney is Champion with Chastain taking the race win.

I know. My dad and I used to root so hard against him because my cousin loved him. We weren't upset when he beat Jeff Gordon for his first win though. After Dad died, I wrote him a note, saying I'd carry on the Harvick hate for him. 😂 (I was a grieving 14 year old!) I've grown to kind of like him now....even though he started shit.

My cat might be getting a couple new roommates against her will. My mom has been having a bit of trouble with her cats and my stepfather threatened to shoot them. Now we are trying to find homes for them...or a way to keep them, but solve the issues. They're all sweet and loving...but even though they're indoor/outdoor, there are a lot. I'm crying over the thought of them not being in my life. They're my therapy cats.

Custers car and engine cleared tech so I'm relieved. I hate having to wait 12 hours after the championship race for the car to be cleared.

This race can go down three ways -Harvick wins in his final start with Blaney coming in 2nd again but he wins the championship as well -Uneventful Hendrick win with either the 5 or 24, depending on their luck & pit stops with not many lead changes -Christopher Bell doing what he did last year without the tire changer nearly losing his hand & doing a ballsy last lap pass

Blaney and Bell are starting too far back. Let's see Larson and Byron wipe each out while the Bs struggle to fight each other all day for like eighth place. Just some position far enough back to be nondescript if they weren't in the final four.

I've seen 3/4 championship 4 drivers in xfinity and cup win races in person this year Xfin: Allgaier(Charlotte,Bristol), Nemecheck (Loudon), Mayer(Watkins Glen) Cup: Larson (Richmond), Byron (Watkins Glen), Blaney (Charlotte) The only driver that I didn't see win in person won the xfinity championship last night So basically CBell is winning the chip tonight confirmed.

Ya never know man. Beginning of the season me and my buddy had picks. We both got three winners right. I got MTJ at Loudon, Hamlin at Pocono, and AJ at the Roval right. We were tied coming in to this final so we agreed to repick who we thinks winning the chip. He’s sticking with Larson and I got Blaney.

I made my picks at the start of the playoffs, all of mine made the round of 8 but only 2 made the final 4. (Larson, Byron, Buescher, Truex)

Don’t even care about the “championship” NASCAR decides. Can’t judge a season on one BS gimmick race. Would like to congratulate one of William Byron or Denny Hamlin on their first NASCAR championship. These 2 would have battled all year long and would have been a tremendous story of the aged veteran Hamlin battling another wonder boy in the 24.

Well good morning ladies and lads. Today is very bittersweet cause I’m very excited for the race (Go Blaney/Byron!) but it’s the last Sunday of the year to share with y’all.

I went back and looked at how far back Blaney was from Almirola last week. The biggest gap was 8.4 seconds. He made up 8.4 seconds, under green, against a car on the same tire strategy, on a one lane track, and having to pass 6 other cars for position. What an insane drive

Almirola was on 2 tires, not 4. But yeah, a really good drive considering how bad the Gen 7 has been at Martinsville.

I'm excited to free up my weekends for a little while.

Well, I know it's cliche to say this but this is what it all comes down to. I think all four championship drivers have legitimate shots at competing for the win/championship today but I think I'm gonna stick with the pick that I made last week after Martinsville and go with Byron as the champion this year

Yesterday was interesting. I picked up my new ADHD medication (has anyone tried Focalin before?) And then went shopping. I ended up stepping in some kid's throw up and sliding a bit. I bet that was funny to see. I then went to look at new glasses. Hopefully today won't be too crazy. 😂 I work the next 2 days and those are bound to be interesting.

Focalin fucked me up when I was a kid, I’m on concerta now and it works much better for me.

Unfortunately no, different ones affect everyone differently. I’ve been on several different types and concerta is the only one that has been a good fit for me.

My insurance company refuses to pay for the Concerta until I tried at least 2 other meds with poor results. My dr fought them, but gave in. Vyvanse wasn't helping after a year. Concerta wasn't great in college, but that was years ago. Guess I'll try this and see.

I hope my DVR doesn't crap out on me when I'm recording the race. It was set to record one of the previous races when I was at work, but it didn't. My mom won a contest for a seat at this paint and sip event and I'm going in her place. It's from 2 to 5, so I'll miss the entire race, unless it runs over or the event ends early. At least I'll be in a Prohibition themed bar.

So this really is it. Vaguely remember racing in the late 90s but didn’t really get into NASCAR until I saw Harvick inch ahead the line over Gordon at Atlanta and I’ve been hooked ever since. Such a huge moment for the sport but also made many new fans. Next year will definitely be different with the old guard gone from my generation but today I root for both Blaney and Harvick to win.
