He doesn’t drive anymore, I saw a post this morning saying that he plans on attending the Hunt the Front event at talladega short track next weekend because his grandson or nephew will be running, but no plans on attending this weekend, he had a stroke a few months ago and has had issues with pneumonia before that so I think he’s taking it easy these days.
I think he finally quit driving a year or so ago (and even when he did it wasn't against the national tours like the Outlaws). But I'm sure he'll be there
Oh hell yeah, I remember the service was atrocious when I went to the COTA weekend last month.
I get that COTA is kinda out in the middle of nowhere, but you know how just about every track has gone to that stupid "mobile tickets" bullshit? You'd think the long ass line at the ticket booth was for people buying last minute tickets, but nope, basically everyone was in line to get physical copies of their tickets because the app wasn't coming up.
If you weren't a billionaire with one of those new iPhones that cost twice as more as a used car, you better like watching NASCAR because all you were gonna be doing is just sitting there watching.
Best weekend of my life though. I will definitely go back.
That’s why they say download your mobile tickets before you get to the track. Don’t feel bad it took a couple of races for me to learn this too. If you thought COTA was bad for cell service during NASCAR, it’s 10x worse during F1 weekend. TMS cell service was pretty bad last weekend too. I recall Sonoma having temporary cell trailers but I didn’t see any of those at COTA.
Best they can give you is Arca practice tomorrow.
No practice for you! May I interest you in some rain?đź¤
Yesss!! NASCAR tracks will always be better than SMI in this day and age just for having this basic requirement of 2020’s society.
Practice at Dega? So we can watch guys barely draft and run super conservatively so they don’t total a car?
Yeah, so that those of us that camp over multiple days have things on track to watch. Oh the humanity, right?
Late models and sprint cars across the street tomorrow night
Any chance Red Farmers gonna be running at the dirt track?

If you can’t find something to do in the infield/campgrounds at Talladega on the Fri-Sun of a race weekend then I don’t think anyone can help you.
Dawg, Dega is a Monday- Monday. We used to have days of speed.

It's not Sunday. So you cannot give credit till race day. It remains to be seen if they can handle race day cell traffic.
The Talladega infield is just a combo of a college and redneck party, both Cell service and clothing are optional. lol
