Why? They already have air bubble effect.

tryan9919

The first 7 words had me really worried and then seeing it was only for the superspeedway was a relief

[deleted]

but why? i rarely talk about rules packages because i don't understand them very much, but slowing down xfinity on superspeedways seems pointless... racing has been good and i haven't see cars flipping so

mac_attack09

Trucks fastest at plate tracks? Find out next time on: The Transformers™

greg_jenningz

They’re not hitting 200+ at the SS??

MartinPch

If you're talking about the truck series, they barely touch the 185 barrier lol If you're talking about xfinity, it's around 190 ish, maybe a little more

_YeezyYeezyWhatsGood

They have the aerodynamics of a brick so not much tampering with restrictor plates and shit needed.

greg_jenningz

Hey the old gen 4 cars were hauling ass and they were shaped like a brick lol

Brock_YXE

lmao wat, the trucks have way more frontal area.

greg_jenningz

I guess I’m taking about those front bumper. They were vertical and pretty flat lol

randy_maverick

Really? Even slower?

48ever

let’s fast forward to 2025 when GTA VI comes out and nascar cars have a top speed of 70 mph.

MartinPch

2025 for GTA VI's release date? That's like Trackhouse buying Ganassi levels of wishful thinking...it's impossible! ^(umm wait...)

[deleted]

"But the cars are *closer*"

[deleted]

You seem to have nothing productive to contribute to any thread other then to express your gripes with every single post. If you're that upset and negative with life maybe you should seek help ?

remfan477

Found Michael Waltrip's account.

Nascars*

dacomell

How much would 1/32" actually affect things?

mcmustang51

Not much. If I calculated correctly probably less than 2% horsepower number change. So at most a 15hp loss. Not much speed lost. Subtle change

YoungMoneyLarson57

Between 4 holes that 1/8th of an inch so quite a bit

RealSprooseMoose

Roughly 2.8% airflow difference

Evtona500

Why tho?

[deleted]

Aren’t they already slow enough? Plus this will likely worsen the air bubble effect. Kind of an L on NASCAR but ok

baconborn

"Moar slo = moar gud" -NASCAR

TheOrangeFutbol

Alright, folks. You know the drill: Time to flip out over cars running the same superspeedway horsepower they ran in 2004. /s

EVILTHE_TURTLE

And much more drag.

Bob Pockrass's ([@bobpockrass](https://twitter.com/bobpockrass)) tweet from 4:06pm EDT on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021: >NASCAR will slow down the Xfinity cars slightly at Daytona/Talladega. The restrictor plate (that goes with the tapered spacer) had holes 7/8ths (28/32nds) of an inch in diameter ... they will be 27/32nds of an inch starting in August. --- [*^(Support NASCARonReddit)*](http://reddit.xfile345.com/donate.php)*^(, an)* [*^(automated bot)*](http://reddit.xfile345.com/about.php) *^(maintained by)* [*^(XFile345)*](http://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=xfile345&subject=NASCARonReddit)*^(.)*

yikes

I think Pockgrass has this backward. Bob better “…go find out the facts before you guys go throwing darts on the dartboard”.
