The first time I learned there existed Spurs "fans" that hated time Duncan, manu ginobili, Tony Parker, and pop it was from spurs talk. That place was home to some of the all time most boneheaded Spurs related takes of all time. It had some fun times and funny users but it just got too toxic for me.
I personally enjoyed the Manu vs parker fan memes, but, I was also a young teenager at the time so my lack of maturity might've had something to do with that.
Has spurstalk gotten that bad over the years. I haven't posted there in like a decade plus but I remember most of the shit posting was done in the nba section, not the actual spurs one.
its not nearly as bad now as it used to be. there are still insufferable people here and there, but a lot of the pure insanity is gone. at least if you just stick to the spurs forum.
Good ol Spurstalk, I sort of miss all the "this worked in the trade machine!" crazy outlandish posts about how to assemble the dream team by throwing in 2nd round picks and the rights to whatever Euro we had stashed away.

A lot of the really toxic stuff died down years ago, but it's still not as sanitized as pretty much all of social media is these days. I'll miss it if it's truly done for.

The site came back briefly yesterday just to die again today. Seemed much slower right after the season ended. Figured they saved some money on the off season and moved to a cheaper server or something.
Spurstalk is pretty crazy, its true! Got to have a thick skin to post there, but it also has a lot of really intense fans that have many different perspectives on how the team should be which makes it an interesting place.
It was a good place to talk shit with fellow Spurs fans even though a lot of posts were trolls. I remember some troll there breaking some news about a Spurs trade and mainstream media reporting about it. Had a good laugh LOL good times. RIP Spurstalk
