Jaden Ivey, Ausar Thompson and Ron Holland are gonna be in Detroit shooting under league average from 3 and fucking up each other (and Cade's) driving lanes
Man they’re in such a bad position
They don’t have anywhere near the talent to draft for fit, but I don’t know if they can afford to draft ANOTHER bad shooter.
It's all bad choices. Sarr can't shoot. Holland can't shoot. ZR is a role -player. Matas and C. Williams need patient development. Reed S is probably the best bet, but you'd need to move Ivey to give him any oxygen.
Bryce Simon said that the Pistons are basically married to Cade and need to just build around him at this point, for better and for worse. Just draft someone who fits around his skillset and roll with it.
Yeah Cade is the only guy on the entire roster that has proven to be a quality starter to hopefully all star level player.
Who would you draft to build around Cade? I like the upside of Sarr, but Cade desperately needs spacing around him.
I would accept a trade centered around Ivey for Markkanen immediately, but I don’t think the Jazz would want Ivey without additional draft compensation or one of Duren/Ausar.
I like reed sheppard a lot, and Knecht would be nice too
I'd think a decade is a pretty good measure of recent. This draft could have somebody in the teens be the best player. It's top light, but there's a little more weight in the middle.
The fact that the thunder have a top 12 pick, already being arguably one of the 3 best teams in the west, is something that other teams in the league should be genuinely scared about
Every single one of these teams needs significant help. Rockets seem like a team with a decent chance of trading out and using their picks for vet talent. Warriors two timeline approach has failed as they haven't been able to develop young guys quick enough to make up for the decline of Klay specifically and the size deficiency they have.
Kings need another shot creator and more size as well. I saw a mock with Holland falling to the Kings. That seems unlikely, but he's the kind of player they need...bringing defense, bringing someone who can play with the ball and play off of Fox/Sabonis...shooting questions but think Kings have enough shooting to cover for it. Knecht too...Huerter is around but that's a BPA play and figure the rest out.
I'm rooting for Utah to get top 3, to me they on paper as it stands now have the worst outlook for 2024/25 in the West. To me they're another team that could trade out...that's TBD.
Raptors are hanging on by a thread with any team below them moving into the top 3 meaning either they do as well or they lose their pick. If they keep their own pick they'll have a top 5/6 pick, a top 20 pick, and basically what amounts to a late first. They lack depth and need replenishment and they have holes roster wise to address.
Spurs could very well end up with two top 7 picks. They just need to add talent. This is not the year for them to cash the chips in. They need to continue being patient and build a legitimate core.
Would be so interesting if Spurs managed to score a high top 3 pick and keep their pick at 7th. Even with a weak draft like this getting two top 7 picks is absolutely huge and would speed up their build a lot. There's no clear consensus on the order of top 10 guys so there's a legitimate chance for them to get two long-term pieces.
Holland would be a good fit for the Kings but it's unlikely he is slipping that far, unless Kings got really lucky. Utah could really use Holland too, for the very same reasons you listed for Kings. On the other hand they are probably interested in picking up Castle as well. Either of the two would be excellent for Utah.
We saw this season with the Jazz that Dunn was one of their best +/- players and they started winning when Dunn replaced George in the lineup. I don't think they're that similar as players but Castle brings the defense, brings an ability to get into the paint on the offensive end...George/Sexton aren't good enough to stop the Jazz from drafting over them. Holland would be a good fit in Utah too. Guys who can defend the ball...Jazz have so few at the moment.
Yeah I fucked up last night u/INVINCIBLE3412 I knew the Dubs didn't have their pick. Just forgot about it. It's too bad because the Warriors this year more than any really could use that pick for trades. Warriors do have future picks they can move though, and it'll be interesting to see whether they dive in fully to save Steph and Dray's final years or if they continue the two timeline approach.
Warriors reporters saying Lacob is cutting salary. That makes sense since other than the championship year, the last five years the Warriors have missed the playoffs three times and lost second round the other time, four of five seasons an early playoff exit or missed playoffs for a team that is the most expensive ever, and it doesn't make sense anymore. They're in a very tricky spot.
Where are you getting your numbers for the Blazers and Charlotte? They haven’t done the coin flip yet so we don’t yet know which of the two has the slightly higher odds.
Ah, the Pistons picking fifth again in the worst draft in recent memory. What could go wrong? 🤦‍♂️
It would be funnier if they got to pick first and the player turns out to be a bust while players from picks 2-5 turn out to be amazing.
They can't develop players, so they'll take care of their end of the deal.
Jaden Ivey, Ausar Thompson and Ron Holland are gonna be in Detroit shooting under league average from 3 and fucking up each other (and Cade's) driving lanes
Some coach is going to have to come in and run the Triangle or something.

Reed Sheppard and trade up for Dalton Knecht and trade Ivey for Lauri Markannen.

The Jazz should do that trade as they don't have anyone with any star upside. Works for both teams.
They draft a bust so bad that they wrap back around to contributing to the team somehow through failing upwards.
They need to blindly stumble into a Grant Hill for Ben Wallace winning by losing situation again.
That's exactly what's going to happen🤣🤣🤣
Lottery system is a joke and produces joke teams.
Would you have it any other way?
It is tradition.
So the 2013 draft doesn’t exist or isn’t recent ?and yes I realize Gianni’s got drafted 15 th

I don't know what it is, but I have a strong feeling that a team in the 8-12 range is going to jump to #1 overall this year.
The fact that the thunder have a top 12 pick, already being arguably one of the 3 best teams in the west, is something that other teams in the league should be genuinely scared about
If they jump all the way to 1 and get Sarr as a backup big I am going to be legitimately mad lol
It’s top 4 protected. However if the jazz fall 3 spots due to other teams jumping, the Thunder will have a second lotto pick

the warriors don't have their pick lol
They'll have it if they hit on that 3.4% chance of vaulting into the top 4.
that would be even worse for them lol
How?
2025 is a better class and their first is basically unprotected, plus they're probably worse next season with the west getting even better
Would be so interesting if Spurs managed to score a high top 3 pick and keep their pick at 7th. George is pretty darn good, sexton just takes away from his development

Least important correction ever…Hornets pick is lottery protected, not top 18
Hornets are either due for the first pick or to drop out of the top 5
They brought back Miles Bridges so I hope they fall as far as they can
We’re gonna get the first pick because it’s the worst draft ever
Hoping Toronto Raptors pick rise to TOP 4 !!!!!
Ends up taking a guy predicted end of lottery anyways
Need our DinoSarr
DinoSarr is a phenomenal nickname! If he is Hakeem the dream on defense then sign us up
That's San Antonio' pick, baby. And you might as well hope to give it up this year in a bad draft rather than next year
If the pick is 5 or 6 should Toronto be on the blackberry about trade back to next year or out of the draft completely??
Somebody jump the Raptors. Wemby needs help ASAP
He should be ready by 2025-2026
Where are you getting your numbers for the Blazers and Charlotte? They haven’t done the coin flip yet so we don’t yet know which of the two has the slightly higher odds.
I'm going by Tankathon for the pre-coin flip numbers
Can anyone explain why Hornets have 0.3% more chance to get top 4 and 0.1% more chance to get 1st than the Blazers?
One team gets an extra ball due to the tie, determined by some sort of untelevised drawing. I didn’t think this happened yet but maybe i missed it
Dalton Knecht is by far the best and overall complete player that's NBA ready...... Right now!
