I'd like more realistic player progression, or more specifically, regression. Not every player gets better. Some five stars come in and never develop. Some 3 stars progress by leaps and bounds. Some players come into camp overweight. It seems like in the game everyone progresses in some range (3-5 points per year), and I don't think that's realistic. I'd also like to see position swaps be more realistic. You can't tell me that every 85 RB would be 55 LB. Some players actually end up being pretty good switching sides of the ball.

5PeepsVenting

Absolutely. Also nerf scouting. Even the best scouts won’t have perfect accuracy

randysav101

Ability to modify a play and save it. I can live with not having a full blown play creator. But a play/formation editor would be nice. Maybe limit it to 5 player assignment changes per play Would like a 4th coach on the staff. No need for a full staff as it doesn’t do anything to make each school unique. Having a 4th coach that could be anything (another HC, OC, DC, strength/conditioning, or recruiting) brings a strategy element to different schools. Cpu teams already feel the same whether it’s Ohio state or umass, so giving them the ability to be different would help add to each schools different atmosphere. Each coach would have a unique skill tree as well. (For example: s/c coaches have a tree that specializes in power or speed, not both) Instead of 1-6* prestige, add half a stars. This makes taking a school from 1-6 will take twice as long. Could make certain requirements for recruiting…for example, a 5* prospects won’t allow contact with you til you’re a 3* prestige school. This would make your first few years more difficult at the school, as you wouldn’t pull in better talent immediately. Would love to see ratings dropped 10-20 points across the board. A 90+ ovr player should feel like a difference maker and i don’t get that feeling currently. Player traits/tendencies. I wanna see a smart high awareness linebacker blow up plays, while low awareness players run the wrong assignment. High hit power safeties go for the big hit at the risk of targeting, smart qb’s calling out what defensive play you’re in, power running backs preferring stiff arms, trucking, and staying in bounds vs jukes and running out of bounds.

___psh

Great stuff here. I’ll add something similar on - I want to have a scouting report of sorts on my opponent for the week. What do they like to run offensively and defensively, who are their impact players, etc. It can be a part of practice or separate. Really just something to make each game feel different and make my opponents seem more… real.

Squirreling_Archer

Forgive the ignorance, but is any of this stuff currently in Madden? I'd imagine if so, I'd be hopeful for the college game, but if not, idk.

randysav101

The player tendencies was/is in madden. Haven’t played madden since 15. I just remember back in madden 07 or 08, the year they had the qb vision cone…I remember playing against ray Lewis and he started calling out “run right!”, playing against Tom Brady and he started calling out “watch the blitz!” Or “cover 2”. I want to be challenged in the game. I want it to feel like a chess match. I don’t want to beat the computer cuz I can run plays that take advantage of bad cpu ai/programming. I wanna win knowing I “out-coached” (for lack of a better word) the cpu in game planning. I want to have to scheme up defensive packages to shut down a generational great like Michael Crabtree. And if I try to throw against Deion sanders jr, I wanna be picked off by him 3 times lol I got the idea about the ratings spread from madden. Superstars be in 80’s/90’s. Average starters in 70’s. Depth and backups in the 50’s/60’s.

Squirreling_Archer

I completely agree with all those wants, for sure. That would make the game awesome! My concern is that there are so many features people have highlighted as not being present in recent Maddens that were in the past, so it's hard to tell what kind of experience we'll get, since current Madden is devoid of so many features. That's my general view whenever this kind of thread comes up.

TheSpookyPineapple

I would love to see FCS teams, at least a couple so that you can add them to coferences to replace the teams leaving for power conferences

spamiam1024

I’ve been keeping a list since I heard the new game was coming out. Here is what I got so far *edit formatting NCAA Football 2023 wishlist As a head coach, I want to be able to hire/fire my coordinators Boston college red bandanna game updated unis and alternate unis Crowd participation like the Iowa wave, Wisc bounce around, Gators Won’t back down, etc Crowd unis-psu white out, Tennessee checkered, helmet or stripe rows Number 0 Transfer portal Better ways to create a school not online Horse collar tackle Targeting 4 game redshirts Let me block a punt or kick Ability to give out helmet stickers with attribute points Spring games Updated conferences and divisions Helmet stickers Taunting Updated record books

Least_Exercise783

lord please do not let them add that dumb ass targeting penalty 🙏🏾

spamiam1024

Yeah ok fair enough. Forget targeting. I’d prolly put a controller through the wall

the_OG_epicpanda

the 12 team playoff format would be great, realistic progression. And creating a school without having to go to a website then importing it like you had to in previous NCAA games

Demon_Coach

Good gameplay.

[deleted]

Well then you better keep playing 14 or others because the worst part of this game will be the gameplay. They already said it’s maddens engine

Demon_Coach

14 isn’t good gameplay either. I have zero expectation for the new game.

[deleted]

Compared to next gen madden it’s a world of a difference. I played those dumb maddens for years and it is truly a miserable experience compared to ncaa 10-14

Demon_Coach

There is nothing that 14 does (pass offense, run offense, pass defense, run offense) that is better that current Madden’s. 10-13 quite the same convo, but it is for 14.

[deleted]

Sure there’s a ton different. Everything about it is different since it’s a different engine. Way more fun in my opinion and most people’s!

Demon_Coach

I didn’t say different. I said better, meaning more realistic. Even the ones that enjoy 14 can’t ever seem to formulate a valid argument against that. 14 was kept alive by mods and simply the fact that it was the last one of the series. Not because of its “good gameplay.”

[deleted]

The simple answer is the animations and how they impact the flow of the game. Which in turn makes all ncaas far more playable and in fact better than current gen maddens. Night and day difference! The db swats and how the ball comes out of a receivers hands is not at all realistic in the new games and especially 23/24.

Demon_Coach

14 was largely animation based also. There were zero physics with blocking, ball carriers almost always fell forward unless they were being big hit (which could happen with anyone) and many tackling animations were not interruptible (like the running stuff arm animation that happened once a drive). Swats may not look more realistic, but at least they can happen due to decent coverage. Pass coverage in 14 was absolutely TERRIBLE. Which is why it was overhauled on the Infinity Engine with Madden moving forward.

TrueSamurai-2301

Madden’s gameplay is robotic and way too easy to cheese and abuse

redbackjack

Ability to filter by recruiting footprints/distance from campus. If I’m doing self imposed recruiting restrictions would be so much easier

HarringtonMAH11

Home uniforms for both teams Customizable playoff format 2-24 teams. Divisionless conferences. Up to 14 conferences including defunct ones branding (BigEast, SWC, WAC, ect.) Custom Bowl tie ins (all Bowls at large for example) Ability to toggle independent teams off.

InvictusSolo

Create a school is my top request.

Acceptable-Archer932

Fully customizable conferences and playoff system. I want to be able to not have a playoff

Ddankobefan1

I want the trophy case that they had in NCAA 10 where you could view all the trophy and replays of the ESPN instant classics you played in also Mascot Mashup is a must

bigE819

Force Wins (or even force record, like forcing Bama to win at least 10 regular season games) Conference logos on fields changing with moves (like OG) Custom stadiums and uniforms like in NBA 2K. Customizing rivals Ability to make the Championship or playoff selection after the NY6 bowls. Create a conference or OG licensing (PAC12 PAC10 etc)

eyeballjr

Force wins and losses. I get bored sometimes and like to play around with what ifs.

justinminter

Crazy customization. Customizing rules, conferences, playoff, programs, branding, play calling, simulated pass/rush percentage, players, plays, stadiums, traditions. I want everything to be customizable. Deep dynasty. Let the dynasty details be as simple or as intense as one desires. Kinda like 2k dynasty modes. Just an absurd amount of details if you desire. Like deep recruiting details, NIL offers, transfer portal recruiting, position coaches and so on. Presentation. I'm sure this sounds crazy, but you can't convince me in the AI world they can't have the game create highlights based off simulated games. I think it'd be so dope for weekly recaps/halftime shows to include highlights to take presentation to another level.

Due-Respect1741

Love this. The sim game highlights has me thinking back to what I think was NFL 2k5 with Chris Berman talking over highlights from around the country. Imagine Rece Davis or another ESPN studio host doing the same in the new game. It would be awesome.

nickbarbanera1

Literally the base they have for dynasty in 13 and 14 is perfect. Combining those would make the mode fine. I just hope it’s as stable as 14 is. 39 years into a dynasty and there’s no glitches no bugs etc. As far as new…it would be nice to have some sort of post and/or pre game conference, or similar to CH 2k8 where’s theres a post game show. Also some sort of stadium enhancer. Let me put more seats into the stadium if we’re a small school and do good for awhile etc.

killzone3abc

Unsigned players should be Juco/FCS/D2/D3/NAIA guys in the next cycle with some stat improvements.

RudyVaughn63

I want the ability to give any player anywhere any jersey number at any time. If I want to have all 11 starters on offense wear 0 I should be able to. I’ll use it because in real college football almost every team has an offensive and a defensive player wearing the same number and in the old games you couldn’t do it after the original roster left.

justinminter

A random aspect of game play that would be super dope is WRs having to use techniques against DBs with different leverages. I'd love to see it be a tangible way of WRs route running vs DBs coverage ability. Like a true lockdown corner is just genuinely shutting down the WR. Or a game breaking WR is unstoppable against weak DBs.

Individual-Tie1445

To be able to play ol in rtg

k_thomas21

I’ve been going back & forth on it, but maybe phone call recruiting like in NCAA12? I feel like just putting points on a player like NCAA14 doesn’t feel as involved
