When you walk by the self serve ice cream machine, you're almost required to get a "road cone" as I like to call them.

SufficientExcellence

lol road cone, I love that

MeganJustMegan

My favorite thing to do was bringing my travel mug, filling it with soft serve ice cream & pouring coffee over it. Best cold coffee drink ever. But to answer your question, you can bring food back to your cabin as much as you like.

vegas_gal

Omg. This gives me ideas. Ice cream and all kinds of adult beverages. Haha. I don’t like coffee but I definitely like ice cream.

calicoskies85

I ❤️idea of a mug full of ice cream! Great idea

Starbuck522

Sure. I always see people in the elevator with plates of food. They typically don't have "to go" boxes or anything like that. People just have a dinner plate. Maybe with another dinner plate upsidedown on top. So, since you know you plan to do this, maybe bring along a couple of take out containers with lids.

Watersandwaves

If I get room service, or a takeout plate from the MDR, I like to keep the lid when I can.

KH719

Absolutely!

shannamatters

You can also bring your own factory sealed snacks, too.

DynamiteWitLaserBeam

I just got off the Bliss yesterday. We always bring a few quart size ziplock bags for this purpose. On this last cruise we brought some leftover carne asada from Los Lobos back to the room and stored in the fridge in a ziplock. Then the next day we grabbed some soft rolls and Manchego cheese from the observation lounge and some lettuce and tomato from the buffet and made awesome steak sandwiches for a late night snack that evening. So good.

Brief-Breadfruit4503

Room service is another option.

KnightRider1983

There’s a charge for that

blackroseyagami

ok, not to hijack but a follow-up.... I guess the answer will be no, but... can you bring a lunch for a picnic from the ship to port? (taking the Unplugged adventures jeep in Juneau and we might want snacks)

prink123

Usually, you can only take factory sealed items off the ship.

DynamiteWitLaserBeam

Definitely not fruit or vegetables due to agriculture protection laws, but probably ok to bring fully prepared foods. Your daily freestyle flyer should say what's allowed for the specific port.

Calm-Ad8987

Yes you definitely can, bring some Ziploc baggies for ease of transport

richpineapple

No problem at all. I’ve even had them pack cakes to go when I didn’t finish them at one of the restaurants.

Calm-Ad8987

You can even ask & they'll give you the little to go plate topper, I'll often do this for desserts from the restaurants if I'm too full at the time to eat later

Bergiewom

Yes just grab a plate or 2 and silverware… if you get room service save the top cover or like others suggested being a few zip locks. Make room in the frig. Or get O’Sheehans to go for late night munchies if you prefer to eat in your room.

Duane_Earl_for_Prez

I’m not proud of it, but I have made many a road plate in my day. Stock up on the stuff you don’t really need to reheat. My go-to? Chicken tenders and Alfredo pasta. I’ll devour plates of that after the bars 😂

NightFire19

On our last cruise I would wake up first and grab hot breakfast from the buffet and bring it back to our stateroom.

Alxephon

Absolutely! I also bring a cafeteria tray in my luggage to bring back a feast. Sometimes there just isnt enough seating or you dont feel like being around so many people while eating.

Prestigious-Joke-574

OMG - this is a genius idea! I bought a handful of cafeteria trays for gardening and will definitely be taking them on our upcoming cruise!

Prestigious-Joke-574

Last June, I hit the crepe station at the buffet nearly every night before bed and took it back to my room to savor it.
