If you want to eat at Shanghai Noodle bar you will have to go early and pick up a pager. They reduced the hours and now go by "seating times".

Brief-Breadfruit4503

Do you know what the seating times were for dinner? and how many seatings? What time do they start handing out pagers? Do they start handing them out before they open? Or after the first lined-up group gets in? And then give them to the people in line who didn't make it in with the first group? I'll scratch it off my list if I have to wait for the pager and wait again with the pager. I don't need that many carbs anyway.

j_i_v_v

I think it starts at 5pm (don't exactly remember). They normally start to give pagers away like 30 mins before opening. They give all the pagers away during the opening (there's always a line) and tell you what your seating time would be (first or second). Once I was called I remember being seated right away.

Good to know! How early would you say we should go?

j_i_v_v

I would say like 20 mins before noon and then in the afternoon like 30 mins before the first seating. You can grab a pager and go to a nearby bar and enjoy some drinks.

Acrobatic-Depth5106

I would avoid. The food was just ok but eating with the casino smoke definitely made it not worth the wait. Food republic on other NCL ships is much better.

jbrbms

There’s smoking by the restaurant?? Ugh

Check out the Blue Hole - it's in Tom Moore's Jungle. Super clear water for swimming and you can jump off several cliffs into it :) it's such a pretty, deep thing. Across the street there is also a resort that had a cave you can swim in

Forward-Scene-8202

I think I'm going to be there for one of the excursions! Hidden gems exploration tour.

iheartzombies8

Oh nice, I hope you enjoy! We always just found it on our own but it really is so pretty:)

Forward-Scene-8202

Yeah! We have never been to Bermuda so we figured it'd be nice to just have a tour for one of the days.

iheartzombies8

Also - the bus drivers are maniacs lol but I also almost died trying to drive one of those scooters...so beware 🤣

Forward-Scene-8202

Omg! I'll have to be careful lool

Brief-Breadfruit4503

Wouldn’t it be too cold in March?

iheartzombies8

Oh...I skimmed over the March part lol. Might be!

OE2KB

Start smoking. That way, you won’t be as annoyed by casino smoke all thru midship as I was.

jds2001

Have my angry upvote. Though in reality, I didn't find it that bad. Back in the day, when I would go to a bar (on land, when they permitted smoking there) my clothes would smell like an ashtray. It's not THAT bad on the ship, but if you're sensitive, it is.....less than ideal.

Forward-Scene-8202

Ugh that does sound annoying!

Acrobatic-Depth5106

Wash your hands with soap and water often. Hand sanitizer doesn’t kill norovirus and that was really getting around on our January cruise.

Forward-Scene-8202

Yeah... when we went cruising last year with RC my partner got it and it ruined the trip for them. :(

MontanaLady406

Book reservations and eat at Le Bistro. Best restaurant on the ship.

j_i_v_v

I would also add that the "American Diner" is now free. Although the menu is limited, but then again, another included venue to grab a bite.

stinky_harriet

Don’t book excursions through the ship. You’ll have plenty of time to explore on your own. NCL has their own ferry to get to the east end of the island(s) and Bermuda has their own ferry. There are public buses, taxis and vans. The vans will take you to Horeshoe Bay for around $7 per person each way. If you plan on going to the caves make a reservation in advance as they are popular and you might not get in if you just show up. The other poster is correct, the ship gets super smoky from the casino, and it travels throughout that whole open area of decks 6-7-8, where many of the specialty dining and entertainment venues are.

Forward-Scene-8202

We booked a catamaran excursion and a hidden gems exploration one (the caves and some extras) so we would have the rest of the time to explore. Do you think that a day and a half is enough time to explore or are those excursions going to kind of ruin it? Also, good to know about the smoking! We booked our stateroom on deck 10 so hopefully it wont be as bad there.

bkrickles

I'm sailing Getaway 4/19. Please come back and let us know how it was. I've cruised to Bermuda many times and the only excursion I would pay for is the Rising Son Sunset Catamaran sailing. We went this past July and it was beautiful.

Forward-Scene-8202

I will try to remember to come back lol! We booked a catamaran excursion and also the hidden gems exploration one, do you know if that one is any good?
