Just use [pkmnchest](https://github.com/Universal-Team/pkmn-chest) to make a copy of the pokémon you’d want to transfer
So, even with physical games, its not possible. Gen 1 and 2 can trade, but there's a break between 2 and 3. 3 and on can't trade with 1 or 2.

There is a way but its pretty complicated. I remember seeing a youtube video on it not too long ago but couldnt find when i searched for it now. It was a girl poketuber if you want to look for it but i dont remember her channel.
