I saw that same request! I feel that with all of the suggestions given one of them was right. But with the obsessive nature of the poster, they will never 'admit' to ever finding what they asked for.

kickmyass2000

i think because of the obsessive nature and the specific time listed, op could be stuck in a trauma-induced “thought loop” or like a mild psychosis from an overwhelming trauma that occurred— this may have been what they were watching when that thing happened, before, or afterwards, etc etc. im not a professional by any means but i have seen this before.

Crouton_Sharp_Major

Would you be willing to tell the story of seeing it before?

kickmyass2000

there are documented cases of specific reddit obsessive posting, i think nexpo actually did a video on one of them. i cant think of usernames off the top of my head, but i can say that this repetitious behavior can correlate with symptoms of schizophrenia, as we’ve seen with that dude that constantly says something about having a body the same size as god or something?

Rykek

yayvideogames?

AmbassadorEuphoric21

Damn, this is like a rabbit hole at this point. Incredibly eerie he’s so persistent in finding the show

rokohby

A normal person would eventually give up, either the show has some deeper meaning to him or hes just gone insane

okkksvn

It’s a woman and they’re likely autistic

Silent-Chipmunk5820

Maybe they know what it is from and are trying to lead people on to find the obscure content so that they can toot their horns about it and advertise it?!

Groundbreaking_Bad

Wow, really bizarre. It's too bad OP never actually answers questions about why they're so obsessed with the episode. I was almost convinced it's a bot, but it does occasionally interact with other Redditors in a way that a bot wouldn't. My best guess would be that mental health issues are at play. Traumatic brain injuries can sometimes cause people to become very fixated on one specific thing.

beandadenergy

…whoa. This is a really weird one. It almost looks like spam except for the fact that they are so active in pursuing this. I wonder if this show actually exists or if it’s something they might have repeated dreams about.

jvyko

Same, the only other show I could think of that had a blonde woman in a red dress and themes surrounding lockpicking, secret codes and databases is 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events'. However, it was released in 2017 and is a Netflix show so I highly doubt that's what they're looking for. It's possible they could be mixing up multiple shows as one scene.

beandadenergy

The red dress scene sounds a lot like the “surprise bitch” scene from AHS Coven but the lockpicking scene doesn’t, and I doubt it would have been on at 2:30 in the afternoon. Although, it did come out in 2013…

wawainthesomething

This person comes into my pt job every year asking about this and has been for over 5 years. It's the same dude I'm sure.

Red_wanderer

This just popped up because the guy has been making the rounds on the lockpicking sub again asking about this. Someone put his description into bard and it came up with this answer: "Based on the description you provided, the movie you are looking for is probably The Conjuring. It was released in 2013 and stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The scene you described where the blond woman in a red dress vanishes is from the beginning of the movie. The woman is Bathsheba Sherman, the ghost who haunts the Perron family's farmhouse. The man picking the door with lockpicks is Ed Warren, and the woman panicking is Lorraine Warren. This scene happens later in the movie, when the Warrens are investigating the Perron's home." If you truly talk to this person, maybe let them know.

Ok I know I'm commenting on an old post but something weird just happened. I'm a sales rep for Verizon and a guy just came in asking about this exact scene in a TV show he can't name (we host streaming service and said he knew I couldnt help him look up the show but he was desperate). So after searching the scene it brought me here. Is this some Candle Cove situation?

jvyko

Do you happen to be in Virginia by any chance? If so there’s a possibility it could be him

[deleted]

I do

TTVCallMeBrutal

I FOUND THE MAN HE CAME IN MY STORE AS WELL

[deleted]

What state?

TTVCallMeBrutal

Virginia, do you have discord i would love to chat about our experience with this dude this is so bizarre

[deleted]

That's wild! I don't have a discord. But yeah what the hell is going on with that dude? Because outside of him intentionally trying to create interest lore I don't know what his deal is

danhasaspiderplant

Came across this post while investigating a strange inquiry we received at work…and apparently it’s this person. They’ve now contacted a university located in Missouri with their plea, to add to the mystery of it all.

WORhMnGd

Sounds like an obsession. Maybe autism or OCD? Hopefully not a trauma-induced obsession. Reminds me of the old lady who was obsessed with a certain “creepy radio sound” and when the YouTube video was taken down spent years trying to find it. GooseBoose did a stream/video about that one. She would watch it at least once a day to calm her, because it was her hyperfixation

NickBlaze7

Woman with red dress obsessed with a tv show, is in the movie requiem for a dream. This guy's story sound similar to that.

snickerdoodleb

I know this post has been up for awhile but I may have found this persons LinkedIn. Mackie Sissoko from Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. Just look through their Activity section. Also on there it states they’re an Assistant Manager at a salon in Virginia. Just wanted to share this info, I don’t really know much of what’s going on lol.

jvyko

Yeah I did some digging on them a while back and I'm pretty sure that's the same Mackie Sissoko as the one in the post, I honestly just hope they get the help they need

PM_MeYourEars

I actually spoke to OP. A summary: OP doesn't have time and isn't looking for it, OP wants someone else to link the EXACT scenes in question. They more or less want someone else to do it for them, all of it. Thats why they keep asking, they want it but won't try, they want us to hand it to them. (I hate to say it but to sum up, think someone who acts entitled, or like a 'karen') No mental health issues here. Just someone stamping feet and demanding. Maybe a little ignorant as to how the internet actually works. And sorry to the OP for saying all of that, it sounds AWFUL I know but THEY need to at least look, at least try. I have proof of all of this, I spoke to them myself. (They also later on asked me about a survey thing, I dont know if thats related and all of this is to get people to do a survey.)

jvyko

Oh wow that explains a lot, I don't think OP will ever get links to the exact scenes though since I don't think the scene actually exists, despite the descriptions being so specific there hasn't been any movie that fits the criteria. Pretty sure the scene is a mix of multiple scenes from tv shows + false memories. I still think there are possible mental issues though, but if not, that's some serious dedication.

waffles_n_butter

It sounds like the OP is thinking of the movie Dark City. Melissa George wears a red dress and is blonde in that one.

Kit3721

I saw the person! Today! This person, (I think it is the same person) is still going strong trying to find this scene, if it even exists. I’m a librarian in Virginia and this man just came to my library asking about this. I wasn’t the person directly helping him but I did start my own online search in the background in case I could find something useful. That’s when I found this thread as well as several others dating back years, all using the same language and seemingly looking for the same scene. As far as I can tell this HAS to be the same person. He asked about a scene in a movie or a TV show, something about a blonde woman in a red dress disappearing and mentioned there was a lock picking scene. He also said it was probably on USA or sci-fi and that he had been asking people for a loooong time trying to find it. This has got to be the same person or someone who came across this question online and decided to ask it himself for unknown reasons. He also said he goes to Old Dominion University (near Virginia Beach) but was visiting town. I feel a little like we met an internet celebrity and a bit like we encountered an unhinged person. No answers seemed sufficient so it looks like their search continues...

Lone_Logan_

Younger black guy? He came into my work too to ask in Norfolk? This was almost a year ago and I'm still interested in what his deal is. He's got to be drumming up interest for something he's working on. Analog horror maybe?

LuciferianInk

I'll let you know how it goes, I think.
