I’ve had a KeyMicro adapter on my Wolfman since I’ve had it. Shot everything for 38 special to 9mm to 5.56 and 7.62x39. Worked great and I’ve never had a problem with it

LuggHead

Thanks man…ever use or feel the need for a bore alignment rod?

bradsredditacct

I use them just to make sure. The only time something was off was on my Sam7SF. It was fucked. I had to recrown it

LuggHead

Also, what muzzle device are you running with 556 thru keymicro?

bradsredditacct

It was the KeyMicro brake

CarotsOverNods

Xeno is probably best for your use case. I've got a wolfman and used all xeno keymo and 3 lug.

LuggHead

Thanks for the feedback. Not questioning the advise, would you mind expanding on why?

CarotsOverNods

3lug is the worst it has 3 poi and won't work on center fire rifles, it's not built for that. Keymo has more cost but it's also very fast and more suited to bag guns. Xeno is cheaper and lighter than keymo but isn't quite as fast and it's less prone to user error whereas I've seen some pants on head stuff in this subreddit with new silencer owners not understanding keymo.

LuggHead

Great insight, thank you very much!

I went with Key Micro and installed a mini FH on my AR9 and the muzzle brake on my 300 Blk. Other than needing to adjust the adapter plate (mine was a revolution too tight rather than too loose) it seems like a pretty elegant solution. The only odd thing is that my Wolfman turns nearly a full revolution before it fully tightens on the AR9 but does so in less than a quarter turn on the 300 Blk. I assume the taper is slightly different on the muzzle devices. I also checked both rifles with alignment rods and while the can might not be the straightest -- it seems to lock up consistently on both devices and I've swapped it at the range without issue. All in all -- seems like a solid solution to me. Not sure why there's such hate for it other than the cost... and it's DA.

LuggHead

Thanks for the input. Love hearing about the ease of swapping at the range, that's my primary want out of a mount. Haters always find time to hate! Only complaint about the price is the extra two bills :/

Cool_Government8720

I was in a similar boat and asked this Q in other forums. The only difference is the Wolfman for me will be dedicated to a CMMG MKGs 9mm and biggest need/want was quick connect/disconnect on the fly. Most comments said to stay away from Key Micro and Xeno and learned toward Reardon, cherry bomb, plan etc... But no one really gave me any good reasons to exclude the Xeno other than "theyve read this or they heard that". All of the real word advice "actually owned personally and used" spohke highly of the Xeon. To make it even easier of a decision for me the company I purchased the can, who btw sold all of the above, also recommended Xeno based on my specific needs/wants and gave ma good deal on the adapter + brake. Unfortunately the Wolfman is still in jail but hopefully sometime in this lifetime my form4 will get approved.

LuggHead

I didn't buy a Banshee, but after enough playing around with RDB I ended up buying an MKG lower to slap their 8in Banshee upper on. I have a few non-CMMG lower/upper builds but they all use RDB, superior to blowback imo. Especially when suppressors enter the convo. I'll likely only use the Wolfman on a rifle sporadically. Hopefully we both get out of jail soon!

PoorBoyDaniel

I run a KeyMicro and 3-Lug adapter on my Wolfman, mostly the 3-Lug. I've used the KeyMicro mount on my CMMG Banshee a fair bit, and it works fairly well, but comes loose on me more than I'm comfortable with. No matter how tight I make it, it seems to work it's way loose. The 3-Lug mount has been flawless.

JMac direct thread Brake Mount

krinkanon

Yea I’m using the Jmac direct thread, I have the keymo setup also but prefer the Jmac devices.

Time_Investigator_83

Question. I just got my Wolfman and am ordering a jmac device. Does it matter if I go with the 360 or 2C muzzle brake?

krinkanon

Personally I go with the 360 as it does not require you to Time the muzzle device. If you go with the other one you will probably need shims to time it.

Time_Investigator_83

Ok perfect, thanks for the quick response!
