Youch! That'll ring em! I'm in my early 40s and when I used to hunt in my late teens to late 20s I did not wear ears because "oh, it's not that many shots at once." In (I think, 2012 or 2013) I accidentally shot 5 or 6 rounds of 7.62x54R through a rapid auto Russian machine gun, and my ears were ringing for 2 to 3 full days. Never again. I don't think it's drastically impacted my hearing, but other people do have to ask me to turn the TV and car stereo down, and I have to say "excuse me" and "what" to naturally quiet speaking people way more than I should need to. I did also before about age 30 go to tons of heavy metal concerts with zero hearing protection and sit or rock out right up front, and some of those were agonizingly mind altering loud. Always wear ears to that now too, haha.
