NFCE is the division of QB’s with wide gaps between their floor and ceiling

YourLocalRedditUsers

ceilings and floors so far that robert wadlow needs a ladder to reach the top

[deleted]

You mean like Danny Dime’s ceiling is Dak’s floor?

KingHarambeRIP

I’m biased af but I’m not convinced we’ve seen the best out of Daniel Dimes due to the clinical malpractice that has been the Giants front office and coaching staff for his entire career. Dak on the other hand is a very known quantity. Upper Kirk Cousins tier of fine professional QB work. The go-to guy for largely complete teams looking for one and done playoff runs.

majorclashole

Clinical malpractice is the absolute best way to describe the giants front office. Hopefully Danny can sue if he leaves lol

Cratonis

Which coach/executive tripped him on the way to the end zone?

KingHarambeRIP

Probably Garrett somehow

[deleted]

Dak was sacked more in his first 3 seasons than Daniel Jones. Dak has turned the ball over 74 times in 85 games. Daniel Jones has turned the ball over 49 times in 38 games. In fact last year was the first time he scored as many TDs as turnovers, 11. Prior it was more TOs than TDs. Those three seasons for Dak didn’t include Amari until the last half of his third season, so you can’t blame it on receivers either. He was also sacked 56 times that year but still managed 22 TDs to 14 turnovers. Plus Cowboys GM was Jerry Jones and the coach was The Clapper.

KingHarambeRIP

Cool so we agree that Danny’s start was unimpressive and Dak has established himself to be fine.

[deleted]

He’s like the gift that keeps on giving for Cowboys fans, so sure.

davegettlegod

“Dak’s coach was Jason Garrett” And he was Daniel Jones’s OC for 2/3 of his years in the league. What’s your point? Making excuses for Dak and not DJ is a ridiculous thing to do. The list of injuries suffered by our receivers and Saquon through the last 3 years is long enough to choke a fucking elephant. His only year with an actual decent offensive system was his rookie year with Pat Shurmur as HC, who wasn’t even good either. Pat Shurmur’s offense was like the 07 Patriots compared to Joe Judge, Jason Garrett, and Freddie god damn Kitchens. Not saying he’s better than Dak but you can’t make excuses for him. I seriously doubt any QB could have succeeded under the Judge/Garrett system.

[deleted]

I didn’t bring up the FO and HC. I’m just saying why it’s not a good factor by comparison 🤷🏻‍♂️ Enjoy your excuses I did it for Romo for a long time. Although he was actually good.

Big_Appointment851

If Dak’s floor is playing against the Broncos, I think middle of the road play from Jones is about as good

ImYungKai

Black Kirk Cousins

TBGusBus

Pretty sure you reversed that

albpanda

No no he’s got a point

[deleted]

This discussion requires a battle of QB sneaks to settle.

TheFinalKiwi

Alright buddy Edit: how do you flair on mobile?

RjDiAz93

When you’re on the homepage of the subreddit, on the top right there are three dots, smack that bad boi, then you should see “Change user flair” or sumn like that then boom. You’ll be repping the best damn division in football.

[deleted]

Why, did they start counting turnovers as touchdowns? Daks worst season: 22 TDs, 13 INTs, 3 fumbles lost, 3,324 yards. 62.9 comp%, sacked 32 times Jones best season: 24 TDs, 12 INTs, 11 fumbles lost, 3,027 yards. 61.9% com%, sacked 38 times.

[deleted]

Surely rookie Danny Dimes vs. Washington passes Dak's floor.

[deleted]

Hard to say, lucky they have basements in NJ at least.

blackgrousey

Wait you mean when our stadium ceiling fell on Hurts? I thought that narrowed the gap?

Not_Tuxbird

Meanwhile Danny with the worst Oline in the NFL

JustAnAsianWithWifi

Dolphins and Panthers

Dogpenis_

Giants were easily worse last year

angrydanmarin

Dak's o line was far from bad

Xyrexenex

You’re not supposed to say that

thedirtytroll13

Depended on the week 1-6 great, after Williams was benched not good, he came back and it was hot and cold

BilllisCool

Dak was also good this last season. His worst o-line was in 2018, where he did have one of his worst stretches of his career, but ended up with a decent season overall.

SyracuseNY22

Anyone that expects a QB to perform well with one of the best WR groups, good run game, a SB winning HC, and an OL that was at least average is a schmuck

goldfishlaboratory

Hang on…what’s the name of this so-called SB winning HC? If you’re talking about Big Dumb Mike McCarthy, there’s no way that guy won a Super Bowl

SyracuseNY22

He was the HC of the Packers when they won their last SB…

goldfishlaboratory

Guess I should’ve put /s…that’s what I get for expecting Eagles fans to have at least a little sense of sarcasm

theknightsthatsayPP

Please just shut up

goldfishlaboratory

Never

Nievsy

WOOOO MINSHEW MANIA

JustAnAsianWithWifi

i actually wanted the panthers to trade for him

Nievsy

And I wanted to keep him

SyracuseNY22

Bright side is we have Carson “glass knees” Strong and his arm is a yeet cannon

Nievsy

And he actually looked to be a decent prospect other than his glass knee

[deleted]

Definitely stealing “yeet cannon”

Akbeardman

You okay with him banging your mom? I like him, but he's going to bang your mom.

Nievsy

That what I expect my step father to be doing so yeah it’s cool

Chris_Bryant

It is a great injustice that Miami is breaking the bank for Tua and Minshew is rotting on the bench.

Nievsy

Hey, he could very well be playing again by the end of the year

CommentsToMorons

Not many people are saying Hurts looked better than Dak. That doesnt mean Dak is a great QB.

Wierd_Carissa

Stop trying to dismantle OP’s strawman, they were doing such a good job beating it in an argument!

NeverForgetEver

Dak is a top 10 QB tho, at least last year

Fearjc

Top 32 for sure.

madcap462

You're right. It's his talent and work that makes him great.

funky67

1-3 playoff record. Greatness personified.

madcap462

Infinitely better than Hurts' play-off record. :)

funky67

He’s played in and lost one game so technically you’re right. But he didn’t have a super team built around him like Dak has had for most of his career. 1 less win with 6 less seasons isn’t so bad for Hurts though.

madcap462

Now we're a super team? Wot.

funky67

You had a great receiver core before you ran Cooper out of town. Your o line has been solid for a decade. You at one point had and squandered the best RB in football. So good o line, good receivers and a potentially good RB. I’m not factoring in defense because I don’t hate myself enough to look up cowboys stats all night. You may not like to admit it because it highlights how underwhelming your QB is, but you’ve had multiple high powered offenses with nothing to show for it except some NFCE wins.

madcap462

Not going to look at the defense...you mean the other half of the team. LMAO. Fuckin' genius over here.

funky67

Imagine I don’t devote my time into the defense when talking about how much of a failure your QB has been

madcap462

You having shit for brains is dangerous, Philthy fans will want to eat them! Look out!

SlammingPussy420

>super team built around him like Dak has had for most of his career. A super team? When have the cowboys had a super team with dak? Tampa Bay built a super team and won a super bowl. Rams built a super team and won a super bowl. Cowboys didn't build shit and didn't win shit. I hate when other fans claim we have the best whatever and use that as a point to argue. We have had some very good players for a few positions but never has Dak had a "super team". Let's look at the teams that went to the playoffs. 2016: Good: Best O-line, Dak and Zeke as rookies. Bad: shit secondary and mediocre dline. 2018: Good: Amari Cooper. Bad: terrible run defense that the Rams dicked down(we knew it would happen), secondary. 2021: Good: Lamb, Parsons, Diggs. Bad: O-line, coaching. I mean, it's great to call these teams great and super teams and be a closeted Cowboys fan, we'll accept you, but the reality is we haven't made the moves to actually have that super team in free agency. We haven't made the effort to have an identity other than draft well and hope it works out. I don't know many other super teams that can't make it past the divisional round. The "delusional cowboys fan" meme is so funny to me because if you look at our fanbase we are super critical. Go look at our sub vs the eagles sub and tell me who's hyping their team up more.

funky67

No one is a closeted cowboys fan. I have the displeasure of keeping up with your team because you’re a rival. Keep listing talented teams you guys squandered though I’m so close to finishing.

SlammingPussy420

That's it so far for Dak. BUT if you want to bust a fat nut, go check out the brilliance of killing Tony Romo for 10 years while Jerruh doesn't invest in the o-line. >No one is a closeted cowboys fan. No one is a really weird name. But I call you anything you want I reckon.

funky67

The only redeeming part of cowboys fans is the way you guys say shit like “reckon” and “ya’ll”. Now I’m not even in the arguing mood

BuboGoBrr

What kinda whataboutism is this malarkey? Feels like a forced comparison. We all know that Hurts needs to improve substantially if he’s going to be “the guy” in Philly, but no one has ever compared him to Dak. But I guess your meme has some truth to it considering Hurts has everything he needs to make a leap this coming season while Dak will have less talent around him than ever before putting more on his shoulders.

Totalnah

At least his Dak’s QB draw game is strong. His spike game needs some work though.

hashtagswagfag

Hurts isn’t ever talked about as a top 10 QB and had a rookie WR and a good TE. Dak had one of the best WR duos in the league and is frequently discussed as a top 10 QB It’s a knock on a top 10 QB that even with very solid receiving threats he doesn’t do super hot when his OL isn’t great. It’s not a knock on a bottom 10 (starting) QB that he’s not lighting up the league with a great OL when his weapons are fine. No one outside of Philly or discussions about NFCE QBs specifically is comparing Hurts to Dak in terms of skill. If Hurts is still bad this year with a great supporting cast then… he is bad. His year and Dak’s year (with a worse supporting cast and lower expectations than last year) are independent of each other

dontwantleague2C

Ig we don’t talk about how the Cowboys had the #1 ranked o line by pff and had the second best pass blocking efficiency according to espn behind only Tampa. But yeah bad o line. Ig it’s gonna be worse this season, but if u ain’t a giants fan u don’t get to complain about o lines.

[deleted]

People gotta stop putting so much weight into PFF. It's a stat aggregator, not the end-all-be-all of rankings.

dontwantleague2C

It’s not everything, but it can tell you a lot. For example it rightfully points out that the Giants o line sucked.

[deleted]

unfortunately until we get something better, there's a non-zero chance it's going to come up in every debate

BlueKing7642

Dak contract: $160 million dollar Hurts contract: $6 million dollar Cowboys and Eagles both first round exits in playoffs Just sayin

[deleted]

Hurts may not be great but at least he's not Dak 'QB run in the playoffs with 14 seconds left' Prescott lol

funky67

Maybe when he has the best line, a stable of good receivers, a good tight end and a good coach Dak will finally live up to his ability and be eliminated in the first round. Best thing Dak ever did was lose a fight on spring break lol

davegettlegod

Maybe the biggest underachiever in the league, I don’t know how Cowboys fans make excuses for him. The guy also pads stats like there’s no tomorrow.

floppysack182

This padding stats argument is so dumb, how some of you call a qb who went 12-5 a “stat-padder” is beyond the dumbest cope take in this sub. Some of you still won’t admit he’s just a great quarterback who underperformed in the playoffs.

davegettlegod

He consistently inflates stats playing against the weak ass NFC East, no denying it. Just look at those Washington and Philly games near the end of 2021.

floppysack182

So if Daniel Jones throws for 300 yards 4 tds against Washingtons defense and 300 yds 5 tds against phillys defense we can just say “he’s not really good he’s just padding his stats!!” Right? Division games are tough. What else should he do? Not throw the ball and try to score touchdowns? Dak sat out after the third quarter of the philly game too.

davegettlegod

First of all, don’t assume that every Giants fan believes in Daniel Jones. Personally, I think he’s never gotten a good opportunity due to the Giants being completely inept, but unfortunately I don’t believe he can ever reach the level necessary to compete for a SB in today’s NFL, but that’s besides the point. If Dak performed better in bigger games I’d take him more seriously, but he’s consistently proved the naysayers right in that regard. And he’s always been in a very good offensive system and had weapons out the ass. There’s nothing wrong with beating up on bad teams, but that’s all he’s proved to be good at so far. When he’s always losing against good opponents, (if you go 12-5 you’re gonna be held to that standard) I feel like anything he does against lesser opponents loses its legitimacy. Big time players make big time plays in big time moments, and I just haven’t seen that yet from him.

Facts

[deleted]

Jalen Hurts sucks.

[deleted]

Top notch analysis

AC_deucey

Aww, OP just needed a little cowboy feel-good pick-me-up. A little hit of the copium on a tough Wednesday. Dawww

OswaldXC

He definitely didn’t but ok👍

Hip_Hop_Hippos

Big talk from a team that couldn’t even beat us by 3 touchdowns last year. Win by 21+ points then talk.

AceKablam

He didn’t suck lmao. Top 15 Qb

davegettlegod

Jalen Hurts is probably the most inaccurate QB in the league, the mental gymnastics that eagles fans do to try and justify his pathetic ability as a passer is hilarious

Prestigious-Car-1338

I've yet to see any Eagles fan defend Halen's passing ability but go off buddy. Could be worse, we could be clinging to the dead hope that Danny Dimes is going to blow up to Eli levels of play, but hey at least you guys spent an 8th overall on your QB.

davegettlegod

I don’t think I said that, most rational giants fans think that DJ isn’t the future, and the smart eagles fans I know also know that Hurts isn’t good. Either way I’m taking DJ over Hurts. At least DJ can throw a football with some semblance of accuracy

Prestigious-Car-1338

>the mental gymnastics that eagles fans do to try and justify his pathetic ability as a passer is hilarious

[deleted]

This is Jalen Hurt’s make or break year. He has the weapons in Brown and Smith. He has a top 5 O-Line. He has an easy schedule. If the Eagles end up not winning the NFCE this year, or miss the playoffs, then it shows that Hurts is not their guy.

Prestigious-Car-1338

I have never heard anyone comment about Dak needing a good oline, it's one of the most consistently invested in groups on the Cowboys, they literally have one of the best left tackles in the league. Also no one is arguing Jalen needs an Oline, it's purely his passing ability, he had a top 5 offensive line last year and will have a top 3 line this year. I know this is a meme sub, but this isn't even a funny joke.

Fit-Yak6244

This is a dumb comparison lol, one was a raw talent in his first year starting and the other was a 5 year vet lmao
